At the present the business gets a rating of 1.3 stars out of 5 and the score has been based on 30 reviews.

Absolutely terrible customer service...we've been waiting a month for service and squeaking by without internet. using my parenst house etc. and we've just been informed the next appt is Sept 24! One more 1 star review to add to the pile... My fiancee has called numerous times. She's been hung up on. She's been blown off at least 3 times by managers who will 'call back.' And she paid for a month of service that she wont be getting back because she wanted to transfer the service as it's 'easier'.' What a joke...

Shut off internet week after bill was due, never received any notices except for bill. Deposit pd at beginning of service now because they shut it off without notice they want another 100$ deposit. Please just get it correct. The bill was due 7 days prior to shut off..... I don't care what you call them fairpoint or consolidated they have no clue what they are doing.

Quite possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. Service interruptions are constant and the techs are are unhelpful. I long for the days of dealing with Comcast's terrible customer service. At least THEIR product worked. If it weren't for them having a monopoly in my area, I would have been gone years ago. If I could give less than one star, I would

Where do I start?! I’ve been trying for 7 weeks to get service. Customer service is difficult to even reach. Techs have been to the outside of my house several times despite me stating they need to come in! I called this morning and come to find out it was canceled because the given number isn’t serviced by my location?!? Crystal from CS has been the only person even close to helpful and very gracious in attempting to sort things out. It’s unfortunate Xfinity doesn’t service my area.

Is it possible to give 0 stars since I’ve received 0 service? I’ve been trying to get service set up at my house for over a month. I called before I moved, and nothing has been done. I have probably spent 10+ hours on the phone with them now, with no resolve. I work from home and have been able to do so. Can not wait for xfinity to come up our road.

The worst internet provider I have ever dealt with. We have to unplug our router daily for hours just to get the wifi to work. They have come multiple times and claimed to have fix the issue/ replaced our router. LIES. It has been 3+ years now and the issue still persists. Our internet does not connect. It takes 4 hours to upload a 2 minute video to google docs. Absolutely pathetic. They reek of false advertising and misconduct. They have breached their contract with us on more then one occasion. Their service does not work and they refuse to acknowledge that. I highly suggest you avoid this company at all costs.

This is by far the worst telecom company I have ever had to deal with as a customer. No customer service line after 6pm EST? If you have any option other than Consolidated I would snatch them up.

On the other hand (compared to other reviews), we had an outage, a service man named David Aines arrived when he said he would, figured out the problem (probably a short due to wet weather) and solved the problem. Our phone service is back and our Internet speed is increased.

Dionne B

If I could give zero stars i would.

Beyond horrible repair service!!!!! Will be switching to another phone company

Bill Goggins

AWFUL Customer Service. My phone has not been able to receive incoming calls for two weeks. A Technician finally came yesterday. We were told the Tech did not need to get in the house. The Tech did need to get in the house. He verified that the issues were outside and that he did not need to get back in the house. Upon our return home, a note from the Tech was on the door saying he needed access to get in the house to change a wire. I called Consolidated and the person said they would send an email to the Foreman to see if the Tech could come back. Never heard from them. I get a robocall from Consolidated last evening telling me my issue has been fixed. No, No, it was not fixed in fact, my internet is down in addition. I called Consolidated only to be told that they were not coming back for two weeks. No one could help me. They have the dumbest structure where the people you report problems to cannot talk to the people that actually fix the problem. It sucks too that you actually have to give a star to get this comment to post.

Absolute joke of a company. First of all they only offer 7mbps service where I live. That’s half the speed of the average internet connection speed in Kenya. Not only are the speeds abysmal/third-world, the customer service is even worse. Service is currently down and has been for 4 days. Last outage I had no internet for 14 days. Customer service in inept. They will transfer you to a supervisor, just another invalid working in a cubicle, and will feed you lies. Also they won’t allow you to contact dispatch (only they can contact them and only by email).. also they won’t come for a repair on the weekends. What a joke

Service has been spotty and inconsistent, and rarely works at the speeds advertised (sometimes I get 13 Mbps; sometimes it's 26 Kbps (yes, slower than dial-up)). Downstream doesn't work at all when uploads are occurring. It took an inordinately long time (weeks, if not months) to get my self-install kit in the first place. When it arrived, my service didn't work; it took two service calls *AND* a complaint to the State to get things up and running. Their customer service reps are at least courteous, but ineffective. My last interaction with them, they promised me a tech would call me the next day to check out my lines and set up an appointment if necessary. When the phone finally rang, TWO days later, it was just a recording thanking me for allowing them to serve me and for being a loyal customer. I'm done. I'm going back to Comcast, which I swore I would never do, because at least their service is consistent. No point in paying for Internet service you can't use. Hopefully Consolidated will waive my early-termination fee, but even if they don't, at least I'll be free.

Zero Stars. Had installation appointment scheduled 3 weeks out. They give 8-5 window which is already ridiculous. No one ever showed or called. The worst.

So after contacting 3 times my date has been moved twice and when the guy was suppose to show up he's a no show FOR NO REASON! I've done electrical for 5 years I know how long it would take to install better yet if I didnt show to a customers place without a courtesy call I'd be written up or even fired it's just plain lazy and unorganized

Jeanie Tomeny

I switched from comcast due to the price and the horrendous customer service. I didn't think it could get worse... I was so wrong!! Consolidated has been a nightmare from the get-go! It took months to get the service set up because they scheduled appts that I waited around 9hrs for, and then the tech wouldnt show. Then they would reschedule the appt without telling me (or asking me when I could be home), and I'd come home to a note on my door saying they couldn't do anything because I wasnt home. Since it was finally installed a few months ago, it's gone out 2 or 3 times. Every time I call, it's a headache. Customer service is less than helpful, and just repeats their scripted statements instead of actually acknowledging your questions and concerns. It's so insanely frustrating!! Not to mention that I'm paying double what they quoted me! I feel like a fool for trusting anything they said!

Luke Spiller

I thought about getting this service for the price but from what I've heard I could never deal with horrible customer service

John Dubie

I would rather stick my d*** in a blender than deal with consolidated.

It took a month to get things done and they still problems. We had to wait nearly one month for services or that phone call, don’t they know people work and can’t keep calling them to find out what’s going on. And their customer service most of them have attitudes, I had to tell one I’m the customer. They need to treat their customers with respect, because without us they would not have a business.

We had telephone and internet (DSL) through Consolidated... and we merely called to have the name on the account changed. They informed us they'd essentially need to close/open a new account... and told us we'd lose phone and internet for an hour, then it would be back on. Well, it turned off, and never came back on. We call them up and they say someone put the order in wrong. (Their fault, not ours) We didn't even have a dial tone for emergencies. Finally after a few days they manage to get our phone back on, but they claim they can't turn our DSL back on. It's been over a month at this point, and they still don't know when they'll have our internet back on. They screwed up, but they don't seem to realize that they are now in the position of making amends and finding a solution. Meanwhile we have a 24/7 business of our own we're trying to run.. with no cell phone coverage, and now no internet. Most of their staff has been pleasant and apologetic enough... for all the good it's done us. At one point, we had a "manager" on the phone and my wife calmly/politely said she wasn't interested in knowing the "why" of our situation, she was only interested in the "how" of it being resolved. The manager hung up on her. If we had ANY other options right now, we'd be all over it. However, there is no cable, and we have only one company we can deal with.... and that company is failing us miserably.

please put a negative in front of the one star- worst company I have ever dealt with- Had to get the state of Vermont to intercede when consolidated didn't show up for install for THREE weeks- reset modem on a weekly basis- horrible- glad I've moved so that I can get Comcast-

Kimberlee McClellan

I'm sad I had to give a star because they don't deserve it one bit....I have never dealt with such poor customer service in my life. I asked to speak to a supervisor and Dawn was so rude and pompous, I couldn't even believe that they would have someone like her representing their company. I would not recommend their terrible phone service or internet to anyone ever. They have a - this is how it is attitude, when asked to get a copy of the contract the we apparently agreed to, they could not produce it for me- "it was a verbal agreement" I wanted a detail of what we agreed to and they wouldn't accommodate to that at all. In the end I was charged $1200 to cancel our business account for their crappy service with them! Go to Comcast they are way more customer friendly and cheaper too!!

I guess I have to add to the negative reviews on this company. We have been "customers" for only a few days. The tech that was supposed to show up at our house yesterday to hook up our internet missed their NINE HOUR window. I called last night and was told that I needed to speak to customer service whose hours were the exact 8-5 window that the tech missed. Handy. My wife and I both called this morning and they couldn't tell us when a tech would be there to set it up. Infuriating. I will be calling them every hour until the internet is hooked up at the house. I pray that spectrum will be able to make it to our street soon and when they do, I'll immediately switch. Customer service has to be some of the worst I have ever dealt with. I was told "business accounts take precedence over personal accounts." My in-laws business that my wife runs from home has their accounts through them and we have their business phone line that will eventually come in to our house....not sure what their argument was there.

I am providing 1 star because that is the lowest option. I set up service for new construction and was required to pay for a phone line that I would not use in a 2 year contract. When that contract was up I canceled the phone line and was given the option to upgrade service with a new contract. Well the service tech came out and was unable to upgrade so they said they would send an engineer out. A month later I received a call that they can not upgrade the service. I have spent the last several months seeking an alternative because the internet (with max 3 mbps) is unusable most of the time. Today I called and cancelled and was informed that there was a $129 cancelation fee because when I canceled my phone line I started a new contract. In addition I had not complained about the service since April. Well basic math showed I pay $150+ to keep unusable service for the next 4+ months or pay $129 to cancel. When I asked to make a note that this was the worst communications company I have ever dealt with, the service rep told me I don't understand because I have a the service and it is fine. Of course it is, you probably get a substantial discount as an employee and you live in a different state so you probably have better service. In addition I explained to her that having a technician come out was much better when the company was Fairpoint as I received several communication regarding the appointment. With Consolidated I only received the one call when the technician was unable to locate my house because they had the address wrong in their system. She explained that other then the name change nothing has changed since the switch to CC. This is clearly inaccurate because the customer service I have received along with the general service has been significantly diminished.

After reading the reviews on Google, I was pretty worried about starting our internet service. From what I've read online and heard from others in our town, it sounds like your service quality is heavily dependent on our distance from the hub. I asked our neighbors about their experience with consolidated, and they loved it, so I decided to give it a try. Consolidated Communications gave me 30 days to try out the service, before starting my 1-year contract. The tech was very nice, and arrived on time. I was blown away by how fast the internet was for only being 20mb/s, and it does everything that I'd like to do, no problem, whether it be checking email, playing YouTube videos, and even online games, like CS: GO. I honestly can only say good things about my experience, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, especially since they offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. :)

Disappointing to say the least. When signing up was promised a 40 mbps speed tier, which was a big factor moving to our new home as I work remote on occasion. Fast forward to install day and we are told we can only get the 20 mbps tier as we are too far from the station. Basically was given false information from the website and the service person when signing up. Install took 5 days and 3 technicians and our service tops out around 14mbps on a good day. Frequent hard reboots from the modem are required as the connection is not consistent, will drop to below 3 mbps or nothing at all until reboot. The thing is they are the only game in town if you want any sort of non-satellite internet service. The monopoly allows for this sort of lackluster service and enables customers to be lied to. My only hope is that one day Stowe Cable expands to cover more area.

Go with comcast. It took 4 different calls to just get a confirmed service appointment to install internet when we moved and bought a new house. Initial call was 3 weeks prior to move. On my final call to confirm service request (2 weeks after move) was actually happening I found out they increased my internet package without my knowledge or consent (resulting in an increase in price and a contract extension). Started asking questions as to if my current contract would hold due to the move, turns out they re-up your contract for another year from your new install date. Comcast has double the internet speed for a fraction of the price and they can have it turned on within hours of calling to set up service.

Awful to deal with. No service when it rains. Because this happens every time it rains, we have to tell them ourselves what the issue is as verizon had fixed this before successfully but no one seems willing to do the same repairs they used to. Never see a tech in area. Internet goes in and out every few minutes and we depend on the internet to work from home. POOR customer service, not willing to bend over backwards for you to help solve anything. Said it is worse this summer because of the rains. Well, then FIX IT! Looking for another phone company. Tired of dealing with these bozos. Sorry I had to give them one start to post this.

JFirelord

I would try to review bomb you, but the internet is off every time i try

Chris Poploski

Would like to give no stars. Very disappointed .My internet does not work most of the time. They said I needed to upgrade witch I did and now I am locked in with a contract and still Don t have any internet ..... They sent a tech out witch we never saw. Then got a phone call saying that my internet has be fixed.. Witch it isn't. On week number 4 with messed up internet ... Consolidated communication is very unreliable at best.
