For a small place they are truly good people.

I went to get my iPad Air screen replaced. When they called they told me they were going to charge another $100 to fix something THEY broke. And they don't even fix it there!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! It would be better just to do it yourself. When they screw up on something the ALWAYS say "it came in broken". You might as well tell a baby to fix it, it would do a better job. If I were you I WOULD NEVER COME HERE!!!!!!!! And my sister got her iPad fixed... jk they replaced the screen AND THEY BROKE HER HOME BUTTON!!!! Screw you too!!

Very helpful staff when I was researching laptops. I'm not computer savvy and they never made me feel foolish. They patiently explained things to me that I did not understand. Will definitely return when I need a similar device. Recommend everyone check them out!

Outstanding. Exceptional service by expert technologists.

Horrible customer service. I have never been in a store and treated like this. I went in to get my screen repaired and the guy behind the counter insulted my "old" phone (not that old less than 2 years), made rude noises and made me feel like an idiot for not knowing the back pops off. I just wanted my phone fixed but he proceeded to look up used phones and told me I was better off getting one of those instead. I knew I could get a used one cheap but I had just wanted mine fixed (I didn't want to mess around with changing sim card and whatnot-I wanted a professional to just replace my screen). I go to places like this because I know they know more about them than me.I expect them to. I don't go to be made fun of and to feel like trash and spoken to like I am a complete idiot. I had just come off of a ten hour night shift and if I had been more awake I would have responded more than just slinking out the door with my head down feeling like crap for even asking for service. I was more than willing to pay the price to get my phone repaired but obviously they don't want new customers.

Was very impressed with the repair/quick turn around time of my iphone 6s+. I called twice for an estimate and they didn't tell me either time I needed a deposit, no big deal but it'd had been nice to have known. Additionally, when picking up the phone after spending $200+ I wanted to put a protector over the screen. When I asked him to put it on for me he said it'd be a minute after telling me how easy it was (anyone that has put a protector on knows that its not easy). Waited 15 minutes while he talked with some guy about Florida, looking at me out of the corner of his eye, then i just left. Good technical service, but horrible customer service.

My experience with these guys was great. I've twice had to replace the screen on my iPhone 6+. The first time, I went to a guy at the mall, who didn't do the job properly, left screws out, and tried to charge me more than he quoted. This time, the guys at the Computer Barn gave me an accurate quote, did the repair quickly, fixed the last guy's mistakes, and all for about 20% less than the first guy charged. I've seen the bad reviews, and I'm a bit surprised there are so many. I'm pleased with their work.

After reading all of the negative reviews, I decided to give them a chance anyway, most people only leave feedback if they are dissatisfied. I needed a new battery in my iPhone. I called to find out if they had a battery, how much it would cost and when it would be done. They had the battery in stock, the price was $25.00 plus tax and it was done while I waited. A very positive experience for me!

These guys are the uncool types of nerds who care more about showing you how much smarter they are than you than about actually helping you or providing support. I brought my old, failing mac to them, and they were able to salvage my data but in doing so had to sell me a $70 external hard drive to store it on. Okay, fine. But when I went to plug in the hard drive to another mac, it didn't work! So i went back to them being like, y'all, thanks for saving my data but it would be nice to be able to ACCESS the data from a mac AND a PC (not unreasonable, according to many nerd friends and the internet) and also to use the other 900 GB of space on this hard drive. So they took back the drive saying "oh sorry, no problem, " and when I went back to pick it up they were like, "now it will work on a mac... but not a PC." Im like, uh, that is not that helpful and they were like, "You know nothing about computers! We have TRIED to EXPLAIN this to you!" I was like, you nerds tried to explain nothing to me, you could have given me this data on a data stick that works seamlessly between mac and PC but instead you decided to sell me this expensive piece of equipment that you don't even know how to format correctly. Additionally, this hard drive WAS formatted for use BETWEEN PC and mac out of the box but they REFORMATTED it before putting my data on it which ruined its intercompatability. Basically, they didn't know what they were doing but instead of taking responsibility for it they belittled me and charged me a bunch of unnecessary money.

I've been going to Computer Barn for many years, and have always come away with my problem fixed. I think they're honestly trying to do an impossible job, and once when I was there they were being very patient with a very rude customer - like wow! Some people are never happy! But they always fix my laptop and are nice about it.

I called ahead and asked about My I phone being repaired, and if they were able to fix it. I spoke with a guy who said the part was available and he could repair it in 20-30 minutes. I was then told it was about 30 bucks. I made an appointment to be there around 4:30 that afternoon. Because thats what adults do. When I got there, I was told that all techs leave at 4pm, So no one would be able to help me. But thats not all folks he also had no parts available so he would have to order them. THANK YOU COMPUTER BARN You wasted my time and my gas. You get one star for being open .

Just called and spoke to Miles to inquire if they repair IPhone screens. Instead of simply saying 'yes what model?' he instantly started with this condescending, annoyed tone 'well I need to know what model because obviously every model has a different size screen'! It hit me at that moment that I had dealt with Miles in the past over our business computer and he was just as rude! Therefore I told him that his customer service skills suck and that I would take my business elsewhere! He may be a great tech and all but he should stick to the behind the scenes and be barred from customer relations!

My computer's graphic card went to crap so I asked and paid for Computer Barn to take the hard drive out of my computer so that I could have access to my documents. They did, and put it in a harddrive shell casing and told me to hook it up to a MAC. I hooked it up to my friend's MAC and nothing showed up on the drive. We looked EVERYWHERE and saw nothing, not one file. I have had computer harddrives removed before and I never had this issue. When I called to try to find out why I couldn't see anything I received horribly rude, condescending and defensive service. The man insisted that the problem was that I don't understand how harddrives work and that they didn't delete my files, and that if any files aren't there it's because I didn't save them and that it's not Computer Barn's fault. I constantly said I wasn't accusing them of anything and I just didn't understand what was going on. He kept explaining to me in baby terms how a computer works and I told him to please not talk to me like I'm an idiot and he accused me of yelling, which I was not. They said I could come in so they could show me that I didn't know where to look for my files. When I went in, I literally was unable to finish one sentence. I kept being interrupted and nobody wanted to listen to what I saw when I connected the hard drive to a MAC. Instead they insisted the problem was that I don't understand how computers work, that I'm wasting their time, and that they will prove to me that I don't know where to look for files. I tried to explain that I know how hard drives work, and that when I hooked it up to the computer that simply nothing was showing up. They showed me that the files were there, and they were, but that didn't explain why I couldn't access them. What they showed me, was not what showed up on my friends MAC. By this point, I was holding back tears of frustration because of the way I was being treated and their desire to "prove me wrong." I kept telling them I think there's a miscommunication and reiterated I'm not trying to blame anyone for anything, I'm just trying to explain what is happening but they had none of it. I was told I don't have to be listened to because I "yelled" at the guy on the phone. I certainly wasn't happy but I didn't yell and I absolutely was not abusive or said anything mean or intimidating to anyone at the store. I then drove 40 minutes to Darrad in Waitsfield, and told him my issues. He plugged in the harddrive to a MAC and, just like me and my friend, saw nothing. He couldn't understand it. He plugged it in again and it finally worked. Turns out, according to the expert at Darrad, that the hard drive or casing (something related to it) was loose and janky, which explained everything: it proved that yes, Computer Barn did successfully remove my harddrive and also that there was a legitimate reason for why I couldn't access anything on it. He let me move my important files to a USB drive free of charge and, unlike Computer Barn, treated me with a basic level of respect and more so. I just wish they listened to me finish one sentence and didn't talk to me like I was a child or ditz.

I tend to avoid this place under all circumstances based on what people within my circle have often said of it, but due to circumstances I was forced to interact with them. My experience began on Thursday December 3rd when my Verizon Sony Xperia Z3v's screen broke. I looked up the cost of a replacement and found the LCD display and digitizer for multiple prices ranging from $40-$100 instantly so I gave them a call. The first person I talked to I will label as M to respect confidentiality to the extent that they showed respect to me as a customer. In other words it would be an easy investigation to know of whom I am referring but not as blatant as providing their name. M I spoke to over the phone. He said he would not be able to provide a price for the part required without seeing the phone. He mentioned he had repaired the same phone recently and it had cost around $200 for the part not to mention service. I thought this rather high considering what I found and questioned how it could be so expensive and simply got a rushed explanation on how it wasn't a common phone and it may be better to replace my phone instead also how if I ordered it myself I would get the wrong part more than likely. So I decided to bring my phone down to have it looked at in person so they may tell me what I'd need. When I arrived, that evening around 4pm I met J who was quick to say my phone was old. That the Z5 was already released. (He did not mention the fact that the Z5 was only available in Europe as of now.) I told him I was looking for a screen replacement and he told me that the part was not in stock due to the fact my phone wasn't one commonly seen. I of course understood that. I then asked if it would be able to order the part and had mentioned the prices I found versus the one M gave me. He looked it up and said "Yeah looks like you could get your phone repaired for just over $100." I then asked if I could get the url for the part needed to repair my phone so I may order the right one when I got home. His response was "You could just look it up yourself and find it, bring in your phone again with the part." I asked if it would be possible to order the part through them and he said "You could but it would cost you a lot more money." At that point I wondered if maybe what I had heard about them was false, it appeared J was trying to save me money, so I took my phone home, looked up the LCD and digitizer, ordered it and waited until Monday when it was delivered. I brought it to them Monday evening. J was at the counter again and I provided my phone once more, the part I ordered, and a $20 deposit. I noticed on their display to the top left of the counter it mentioned same day repair should the phone be brought in before noon so I made plans to check up on my phone the next day thinking everything was squared away. The next day which would be Tuesday, December 8th I arrived briefly only to be told my phone hadn't even been looked at yet and that M had repaired 8 iPhones instead which I understood and left. I then called the next day using a phone of a friend and was told by M that I had purchased the wrong part and that "that is what happens when you provide your own parts." Now that made me frustrated because I had tried to order through them. So I drove down early that day to catch M. M, when I got there, provided a very child-orientated lesson on how the connectors were different speaking to me as if I was daft and telling me that I had opted for a cheaper part myself when they had provided the correct option. M at least provided a URL to the correct part which was still not the projected $200 but instead $80 however at that point I was fed up with their poor service and disregard of my time and patience that I took the paper and left. I am still deciding whether or not I will order the part and have those pretentious ITs repair my phone or take my business elsewhere. I have and will warn everyone I know to avoid there for their future needs and consider other repair shops.
