I was having lots of problems with my desktop, the most bothersome was the slow speed, and failure to connect to the internet. I tried everything, to no avail. I looked up Computer Tech Services in the yellow pages and called them and explained my frustrations with my PC. Long story short, Gregg did a deep, and I mean deep cleaning of my machine and installed a "top of the line" | anti-virus and explained to me how to use it and it has been wonderful. My PC is running better than when it came out of the box. When I surf the internet, it is fast, I mean instantly, from one site to the next. If anyone is having similar problems, I will highly recommend calling Gregg, at Computer Tech Services, in Greenville.

I plucked this firm from a Google search when I had a major issue with my home PC. A Microsoft update entangled my Outlook and it was nearly a complete loss. Greg spent hours on the phone with the Microsoft team who finally admitted their problem and worked with Greg to get me fixed. I would not even have known how to describe the issue to MS. Greg sorted through all of it! He was really persistent and provided a very rapid response considering the issue. I fully recommend him.

We purchased a new ASUs Desktop and a Monitor from Computer-Tech. After the purchase, I had a boat load of problems, caused by my clicking on things I did not know for sure was the correct place to click. I really got my power settings and desktop backgrounds, and displays all fouled up. One call to Gregg ( the owner), and he spend about 45 minutes of his valuable time undoing my mess. To me, service after the sale is VERY important. I am very pleased with his help to straighten out my mess and will highly recommend his place of business to all.

Owner fixed my MacBook Pro's logic board. After my logic board failed (garbled screen/no boot) the owner was able to get the board repaired with a reflow of the solder. Apple doesn't make replacement parts anymore, and other shops won't repair, just replace. Costed a fraction of what it would have to find a replacement. Very pleased with this company.!

I would not recommend taking your systems or printers here. Greg was very rude at points even saying, "What do you want?" when I would call to check on the status of my printer. Of which he had for 5 days and of course the issue was not resolved. I had the sense that he had no idea what he was doing, he would ask me if I was using off brand cartridges. If he had taken it apart (like he said) he would most definitely seen that the cartridge was genuine. He told me that the problem was caused by the cartridge until I told him I tried two (this caught him off guard and he said he would look into other problems he thought it might be). He didn't seem helpful. I went to go pick up my printer at 11:00AM and of which they open at 10:00AM. No one was there and we even talked earlier that day that I would be picking it up that very day. Overall, take your systems to a more professional place where you can count on your issues being resolved.

I'm an experienced computer nerd. I go to this guy's place for a solution for my computer's problem which I was not able to diagnose. He talks so much more about other customers than about my problem with my computers'. He constantly referred to his 26 years of experience and 45 5-star reviews on his site. The store is extremely outdated and filled with obsolete computer parts which they were trying to sell. There was no real workspace for a proper computer diagnosing, no clean table, no open workspace, no lighting setup for taking a computer apart. So I need this guy to diagnose my problem... I'm someone who's very experienced with computer building and they handled computer parts in ways I wouldn't wish on anyone else. He tried inserting my RAM backwards and was forcing it in the wrong way. I said nothing assuming he knew what he was doing because of his "26 years of experience and 45 5-star ratings on his site." I knew this whole place was fishy and inadequate, but I was desperate for a diagnosis. So I left it overnight there and I was told that they would work on it overnight and I'd get a call the next day at 1. At this point I had left the store paying $35 for a "diagnosis test" which was literally turning the computer on and off and then taking the RAM out and putting it back in. (which was put in the wrong way) So I left it there and waited for a call the next day. 1oclock goes by, then 2 and 3. I end up calling him to ask what progress had been made. He said that they had about 20 customers ahead of me, which was a number picked out of thin air... very unprofessional, and he said that they would look at it before they closed that day, at 7. I go back to the shop at 6:30 because I knew that they weren't doing anything for it, and my computer had been sitting there for a day with no work getting done on it; wasting time... I get to the shop and he says that they've taken the CPU out and the PSU (power supply unit) out. Now at this point I know he's lying to my face. I've looked at the cables in the computer and I see that they haven't moved at all. If they had taken ANYTHING out, the cables would have surely moved. I don't let him know he's lying to my face so I just get my computer and leave. I wouldn't wish this kind of service on anyone. I feel badly for the customers who are inexperienced with computer technology and put their trust in this company's services. Hung up on me on the phone as well. Don't waste your money. Obligatory: Had to rate 1 star because that's the lowest the rating would go. Also can't stand all these fake reviews, lots of accounts with only one review that happens to be for this store, all 5 stars... makes you wonder

Wow, the knowledge Greg has regarding computers, repairs, programs, etc. makes my head hurt!!! My computer was loaded with a couple of Trojans and way too many viruses; I couldn't logon to my computer. I was so scared that all of my information was lost, forever! I had a fairly new desktop computer that was not booting. I had run some basic tests myself, and had narrowed the problem to a few potential issues, including a defective power supply. I brought them the computer for testing and they told me it was either the motherboard or processor. Based on their advice, I ordered and elected to have them install a new motherboard. That did not solve the problem and they informed me it must be the processor, which they could not test. After picking up my system, I elected to take it to another shop, Computer Direct Outlet. The tech there immediately diagnosed my problem as a defective power supply -- he attached a different one and the system worked perfectly. When I contacted Greg at Computer-Tech afterwards, he claimed that he had in fact tested the power supply before recommending a replacement motherboard, and he refused to offer any accommodation. His response absolutely strains credulity -- I am confident that if I were to go to the trouble of reinserting my old motherboard with my new power supply, the system would work perfectly. (In fact, I offer him that challenge, provided he agrees to refund everything I paid him if the old motherboard works.) My strong recommendation, therefore, to all potential customers -- go instead to Computer Direct Outlet. There, for a nominal charge of $15, you can take your system to their "bullpen" area and get expert tech advice. I wish I had known sooner.

I have been a customer of Computer-Tech-Services for about 18 years, and have ALWAYS been pleased with the owner's thorough knowledge of computer repair, service, and advice. I've been through a lot of computers during those 18 years, and Computer Tech has never disappointed me with taking care of issues. The owner, Greg, is fair and honest, and goes out of his way to make sure his customers are totally satisfied with whatever procedures needed to be addressed. If any disgruntled customers have made remarks about his successful business, then it is usually because they wanted their computers back yesterday, or they are upset that they may have to pay more AFTER a thorough diagnosis has found additional problems that can't be spotted in a 5 minute consultation when you walk in the door. People often have unrealistic expectations about computer repair and don't realize how much time goes into getting to the root of our modern day computers. Greg explains that all up front, and I've never had any real problems over the years with his precise, detailed work.

Edit: The owner's response proves he doesn't know what he's talking about. I had an awful experience with this business. I brought in my HP laptop to get the keyboard replaced after some liquid damage to the board. I was told it would be $87.70, parts and labor included. 2 days later I return to pick up my laptop, and it looked AWFUL. The keyboard did not even fit into the computer. After complaining about the quality of work, I was told that this was the only possible solution to fix my laptop, as the original keyboard could not be purchased by them. I went and got a second opinion. Turns out they TAPED my keyboard into my computer, and charged me 40+ dollars to do that. They are very lucky I can not upload a picture to this website. After they yelled at my mother and tried to convince us they did quality work, we got a refund and I got out of that place as soon as possible. This owner is very deceitful and does poor work. I would recommend going ANYWHERE else than this place. I ended up going to another computer repair shop down the road, called TechHut. The gentleman was incredible and found the correct keyboard for a fraction of the cost, didn't even charge me installation after hearing how these gentleman treated me. This man changed his story 100 times and tried to rip me off. NEVER GO HERE

I knew him from work he'd done for me a couple of years earlier. Greg told me to bring the machine into his shop and I did. This place has decent customer sevrvice, but the owner disregarded me when I told him what was wrong with my computer by saying "most people don't know jack about computers." Turns out I was right and received a jacked up computer with my programs deleted; for no plausible reason. If you have a serious problem I suggest to find a more reliable servicemen.
