I own a 4-years-old Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 laptop. The charger on the laptop became loose for probably less than a year. However, I was still able to charge it. One day, it just didn't charge anymore. I searched online to find a computer repair store in Charlotte, and there were a few stores that charged a diagnostic fee of $50. I had an estimation at Vallve Systems for $200 to repair it. I had another estimation done at J&Y for $250! I was very indecisive at that time but Vallve Systems was very patient with me. They listened to me, and before doing any repairs they made sure to call me and let me know of their diagnostic finding and the price to have my laptop repaired. Just recently I dropped my laptop and the screen went black. However, it could still power on. I returned to Vallve Systems, and at the time, school had just started. I told Diego, the tech, that if it's possible I'd like to have my laptop repaired ASAP. He was very transparent and let me know that they were backed up. I understood and respected that. The next day Diego called me to let me know that my laptop was repaired! :) I highly recommend this place for students!

Alex and team have helped me out of many a scrape AND advised me appropriately when it comes to my IT needs. Alex and I began our business relationship over four years ago and to this day, I do not consider calling anyone but him. When I was searching for an IT guru over four years ago, initially, I simply needed someone to remove a virus from my (then) notebook. Within the next year, the notebook turned into a Sony Vaio and he has been working on it ever since. He keeps it "tuned" to the point that I probably will not need to replace it for another five to seven years. With his help, I've made a solid investment which will stand the test of time. As a consumer, I should have checked with Alex before I purchased my laptop. I now know he could have saved me some cash. Lesson learned. My brother stepped on my macbook air, the keyboard stopped working and part of the mouse pad as well. I took it to this repair shop so I could get an estimate since they offer free estimates on their website. The tech checked it out immediately , 20 mins later he said the parts had to be replaced but it was still about 40% less than what the Apple store had told me. You will save some serious coins with these guys instead of going to the Apple store!

I bought a computer here a while back , the warranty now expired and I understand their policy but I attempted to replaced it; they were not able to return it since the warranty had expired for months, but they were able to give me a big discount to repair it as a repeated customer. I just picked up my laptop today, Friday, after dropping it off on Tuesday, and I have to write this review. After reading the other reviews of this company, and in particular, Alex the owner, I decided to give these guys a try instead of the "Big Blue Geek Guys" I've used in the past. Alex was the best. The minute I described my problem he knew what it was about 99% of the time with my computer model, and that was the problem. He did not charge to evaluate it, and if I had chosen not to fix it, then he would not have charged me. You can't get that anywhere. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and HONEST. He said let's do the lesser expensive repair to fix it, and if that didn't work, the we would have to repair the motherboard only then, and only then. I wanted to spend the money to replace the motherboard anyway, and he said no. It wasn't necessary and I would not have upgraded the performance by doing so. How many other computer repair shops would have told you not to do that. Alex is truly the BEST, not the "Guys in Blue". Go see these guys, you will save money and not be disappointed.

My macbook was repaired quickly after I had a battery that killed my touch pad and keyboard while I was traveling in the city. One day, the laptop stopped working, I went to best buy and I was told my laptop was trashed and should just get a new one. I called other few places and I was just ignored when I mentioned the age of the laptop. I finally found Vellve Systems and they actually seemed like they wanted to help me out. Alex got a hold of my laptop and informed me the parts were going to be difficult to find, it would take several days to get one but he could fix it without a problem A week later another tech called and told me the part was just found and just needed my approval to get the part. I WAS HAPPY when I heard they were going to be able to fix it. Sure enough, the part came in after few more days and my laptop was able to turn on ! Knowing I have programs on that laptop that runs my business ($6k worth the software) It was a lot cheaper to fix that laptop than upgrading my software. My Macbook pro was at full capacity after using it for 2 years. I looked around some places and nobody had this SSD in stock. Vellve computers had the size I was looking for; they had a fast turn around considering it was a busy Wednesday morning. My MacBook Pro stopped working completely after coffee was spilled all over the keyboard . Initially, I took it to 2 places to get checked out , my first reaction to the estimates was " too high " since I was told a lot of components had to be replaced. At this point, I only wanted to get my data back. 1 place told me I have to pay over 1k to get my data back because it was affected by the coffee as well . This is when I found Vellve Systems, after doing a lot researching for companies that do this type of work . Vellve confirmed that several components had to be replaced if I wanted it fixed. However, they didn't charge me a diagnostic fee at all to take it apart ( I wish I had found this place sooner, since I had to pay $100 just in diagnosis fees to the other places ) . I asked Alex, the manager , to check my data because that was the most important thing to me, he checked it and advised me my hard drive was fine because he just plugged it in to his machine and it popped right up. He recovered over 1800 pictures I had while I waited in the lobby ( let me remind you 2 other shops told me i had to pay over 1k for data recovery) . I was so happy and truly thankful for all the explanations Alex went over with me about my data , I was paranoid so I had a lot of questions in mind, he probbaly spent over 45 mins with me and my bill was only $100!!!!!! Not 1k!!! . I truly advice anyone to use their services. Vellve Systems has a new and forever client who will make sure everyone in town knows the feeling I just got when all my pictures were recovered for an awesome price

I gave them a visit with my broken laptop , I was in desperate need as everyone else, they told me they were backed up several hours so I had to be patient which I didn't mind at all as long as it was repaired right. Would have gotten a 5 star if I wasn't promised a quick fix or had I gotten it fixed at all. They obviously invested time and money trying to fix the motherboard issue but I wasn't charged for anything. Not the diagnostics and not the fixing attempts. It took them about a month to finally tell me that they couldn't get it fixed and I got it back, with the new parts inside, even though it didn't help. Had I waited I'd be in a bad place.

This company gets 5 stars from me. I have had a home business for over 20 years and have dealt with a multitude of different computer installation and repair companies. Vellve Systems is far superior to any of these companies I have dealt with in the past. I had a major issue on a Sunday, and they responded within an hour. I was up and running again in no time. I was shocked at the level of skill and responsiveness. Because of their excellent level of service I purchased additional equipment at excellent prices from them. This was also all on-site service. They go above and beyond for their customers, which is something that is rare these days. Needless to say, I give them the highest recommendation possible.

Alex (besides having a great name) runs an amazing business, one of the few repair shops that was open on Sunday to get my computer repair going. He is a super charismatic and warm individual, and an honest owner who offered a fair assessment of the issue and quoted appropriately. It would have been easy to charge me for a whole motherboard swap but instead he identified the issue within a day and called me to confirm he should order the part and proceed with the repair, which ran half the price of a full replacement service. I was told to expect my laptop back in working order by Thursday, yet he let me know Wednesday it was ready for pickup! Moreover, when I was running late from work that evening and would arrive a few minutes after close, he graciously waited for me and we chatted for over 30 minutes while he waited even longer for another latecomer. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place and will be coming back once my battery finally gives out.

My laptop froze and would not turn on again while I was in the middle of a huge project, I found these guys next to my hotel, I called them to make an appointment so they could look at it right away, I came in within minutes and I waited in the lobby while they checked it out, I was told at first it could be the motherboard, within minutes the gentleman told me I had a bad battery and it almost blew up my computer, I was so scared it was going to be major repairs and would take long, it only costed me $65 for the repair (the battery) and I was out the door, I really appreciate how fast they were able to assist me on an emergency like this. Last week I was forced to go to Windows 10, I hate Microsoft for that matter, the computer didn't even ask me if I wanted to update from Windows 7. Anyway, I turned on my computer the next morning and my Dell laptop crashed, it worked, but all my files were gone, I was furious, I called Vellve Systems, spoke to Mr Alex, he assured me my files were going to be restored and not to panic, sure enough...I dropped it off, few hours later he said my files were restored and the computer was like new. I took it home, I had to install my printer again which is not a big deal. I am very pleased with the service and highly recommend this company for your computer repair needs

I was in town for a meeting with my attorney, all my documents were on the computer and for some reason my computer just wouldn't boot up. This computer place got my important files out as soon as I visited them, I declined to repair the computer because it is an old laptop and really just needed the files out.

THEY WILL SCAM YOU STAY AWAY!!! Brought my laptop in for a simple hinge repair and the screen was working fine when I brought it in, then suddenly after the "free" diagnostic it wasn't working anymore AND they cracked my laptop screen. They replaced the screen with a cheap product bought on eBay from China, probably used, replaced different screws in the laptop back cover than what was originally on it, lost one of the rubber bottoms, and still didn't manage to fix the screen after ordering parts that were faulty/wrong. The employees are clueless and the owner doesn't take responsibility for their actions. They made my laptop worse than it was when I brought it in and now had to send it into a certified service center. Don't let them fool you, total scam artists!

Let me just start by saying I'm extremely impressed with the service I just received and also by letting everyone know I went to visit 3 different computer repair shops, including the big store guys at best buy and NO ONE seemed to know what they were doing . I have a 1 year old Dell XPS 13, for whatever reason it stopped booting to windows; every single computer repair shop told me that my OS had to be reloaded but I was going to lose all my data because they didn't have a way to access the drive? due to the fact it is a new chip installed on these machines??? I couldn't afford to lose my data because all my clients are there. I found this place on Yelp and decided to try ONE LAST TIME. Alex was so sure of himself and sounded confident I was not going to lose my data... I couldn't believe it! he backed up my data right in front of me within 10 mins! he had to keep the laptop a little longer to fix it but my data was all in my USB drive. Unbelievable.. this company DOES know what they are doing They have gained a loyal customer for life

I'm writing this review from my perfectly working laptop that was fixed by....the pros at HP, after this place destroyed it. First of all, this place BUYS their five star reviews. The number of reviews fluctuates drastically from day to day (how do you have less reviews one day than you did the day before?) and I have noticed that a recently written review will sometimes be gone the next day. It's because Google is going in and deleting the fake reviews. Now to my computer. This place was an absolute nightmare. I brought my computer in on a Tuesday for a hairline crack in the screen that was affecting the touchscreen capability. I needed a new digitizer. Alex told me it would likely take 1-3 days for the part to come in but that he would call me within the hour (after he ordered the part) to confirm this because sometimes it is backordered. No one called me so I called a few hours later and left a message. No one called me back so I called again a few hours after that and he said he had called the wrong number. I chalked it up to an honest mistake. He said the part was coming from California so it would get here likely either Saturday or Monday. Those days come and go and I don't hear from them. I called them on Monday and left a message and got no response. I called multiple times on Tuesday and they never answered the phone or returned my messages. Finally, at the end of the day, I called many times and finally got through. I was told that Alex had tried to call me and the call didn't go through (which I don't believe for a second at this point). This was around 6pm and they said the mail hadn't come yet so the part hadn't arrived yet (it's 6pm and the mail hasn't come yet?). They never contacted me on Wednesday, so I called them in the evening. They said they hadn't received the part yet but again said they tried to call me and it didn't work (why even bother lying to me?). At this point, I decided I didn't trust them to fix my computer with the run around they were giving me (I was also thinking they probably ordered a used part from China or eBay and that was why they didn't know when the part was coming. They also told me they would "message" the post office and try to get them to deliver it earlier...yeah right. You're going to get the United States Postal Service to come early?). On Thursday morning, I go into the shop to take my computer back with plans to take it elsewhere and they tell me they need an hour to put it back together. WHAT?! You mean to tell me that my computer has been laying open and in pieces for two weeks, exposed to dirt and dust getting into the inside? That's how they decided to store it? I'm furious at this point and I tell them I will be back promptly in an hour. They called me a while later and told me the digitizer arrived and they wanted to put it in. WAY against my better judgement, I agreed to let them install it as I just wanted my computer back. They called me a while later and told me that it actually wasn't the right part. I told them forget it, to put my computer back to the way it was when I dropped it off TWO WEEKS prior and that I would come pick it up. They told me that they couldn't do that because the old digitizer had to be "broken" out. I understand this but you mean to tell me that you didn't realize that you had ordered the wrong part until AFTER you break my computer?!?! I come pick it up and it looks like someone took a sledgehammer to it...the screen is completely smashed, big pieces of it are missing, and it won't even turn on. I immediately called HP and arranged for the professionals to fix it at their headquarters...who by the way told me there was no reason whatsoever for my screen to be in the condition that it was...that yes, a digitizer needs to be "broken" out of the computer to remove it but there was no reason for my screen to look like it had been part of a crime scene. I'm reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau. These people are SNAKES! AVOID!!!!!

I am completely happy by the customer service and professionalism I encountered with this company . I had a court date for the afternoon and my laptop would not turn on, I was panicking. I stopped by this shop and they gave me a couple of options to resolve the issue, they asked me to have some breakfast while they could check on the problem, 1 hour later they called letting me know my laptop hard drive had been disconnected from the system board and my laptop was ready to go. I picked up my laptop and I intended to pay, at least for a check up service ...well, they didn't charge me anything at all, I actually wanted to tip the tech and he would not accept it, he said they didn't really do anything other than opening up the laptop and reconnect the hard drive. This is the 2nd time I contacted Vellve systems for help & can't be more happier with results AGAIN!!!! 1st time I just needed to wipe off my old lap top that wasn't being used for years and just needed to bring it back to its workable condition - which was done in a time promised by Alex with very reasonable price. 2nd time, for some odd reason my lap top stopped working(bios & it wouldn't respond to ANYTHING), after diagnostic at Vellve's I was told HD is fried and all my data is lost. All the documents/invoices/bank statements & way more for both of my biz are gone along with my precious 2 year old daughters pictures and videos of her first 2 years of life( I had some of them stored in my other devices but not all of them). Alex fixed my lap top by replacing it's hard drive to a new one, which I picked up at the time when it was promised to me, but I was out of all my very important data, after going back and forth of different options I agreed for Alex to recover my data. He advised he had to order specific parts and it will take about 2 weeks, I just picked up my hard drive from his shop today with all my data and most importantly with all of my daughters pics and videos & I can't be happier to have my life back & most importantly my daughters memories. My laptop started making a loud clicking noise and I was told by few repair shops my data was gone for good, I had to find someone local for data recovery since I had all my wedding pictures in there, my husband was going to kill me!!! I called around and got different quotes etc but I decided to try Velle Systems. I dropped off my laptop and they called few days later with an affordable quote and assured me all pictures were going to be retrieved. I stopped by their store few days later because they asked to drop off my existing external hard drive so they could transfer all my information, then again, few days later they called me saying the service was done. I checked every single picture and folder on their counter and I was SOOOOOO happy and that's why I'm writing this review, they totally saved me from what could have been a major catastrophe . Price was affordable, time frame was OK but as long as I got back my wedding pictures I was happy!!!!

(TLDR at the bottom, sorry, it's long) Generally, I dismiss one star reviews as hyperbolic. However, I can see no other fair way to rate my experiences with Vellve, considering that I am writing this review from my (still) broken laptop. This may be long, but if you are considering a computer repair from this company, I would urge you to read it so that you don't end up like me. I took my laptop to this company a month ago because one of my hinges was stuck. It wasn't affecting my ability to work, but I figured it would be best to get it fixed before it got any worse. The Google reviews looked promising, so I took it in on a Thursday afternoon. They agreed that it looked like a broken hinge, and said they would take it apart and let me know for sure by the end of Friday. Friday came and went. I called on Monday and they apologized for not calling back, but apparently my computer is a rarer model and they were having trouble finding the part. Fair enough, I thought, they'll let me know when they find it. No such luck. I called back a week later and was informed that they had found the part but it was back ordered, but they would let me know when it shipped. They didn't. I called back a week later and was informed that the part would ship soon and they would let me know when it arrived. No word for several days. I called the next Monday and was told that it was still in transit. I was annoyed that they had chosen what seemed to be a slow method of shipping after they had already had my computer for a few weeks, but I figured it would be worth the wait when it was fixed. To their credit, they did call when the hinge arrived the next day and that they would have it fixed soon. The week passed. I called again on Saturday, and the guy who answered the phone said he was on his way into the shop and would call me when he got there. He didn't. I called on Sunday and didn't get an answer, though Maps said they were open. In response to my voicemail, they called me on Monday -- to inform me that they had ordered the wrong part, and the real hinge they needed was on back order as well. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? At this point, my computer had been gone for almost a month. Finals and thesis were approaching quickly, so I told them to forget it, I'll just use it with a broken hinge. I picked it up today, and I noticed that two of the rubber pads that hide the access screws were missing. I asked the guy at the desk about this, and he went to look for them in the back. He came back a few minutes later and said he couldn't find them, but he would ask the technician about them and mail them to my address in the future. (Update: they never did). When I got home, I found that two more screws were missing at the base of the screen, and small scratches where his screwdriver had missed the holes. Not having a computer for the final month of school was a major inconvenience, and all I have to show for it is a broken laptop. TLDR: I took my laptop to get my hinge fixed, and after four weeks all they had managed to do was order the wrong part, give my computer back in worse shape than I gave it to them, keep me in the dark the whole time, and not actually fix anything. What a waste of valuable time. At least they didn't charge me anything.

Incompetent and Lazy I brought my PC in for investigation into a flickering problem (most likely the video card). The owner was nice but he had an employee handle my PC. He told me that the video card needed to be replaced and that my current video card (2 years old) is the only one that will work with my motherboard and that there was one in Arizona that is $500. That’s a ridiculous price for a 2 year old video card. I can get a brand new one with double the capabilities for $200. I checked my motherboard on some forums and there were people hooking up GTX 970s to the motherboard I had. This employee was either incompetent or lazy (perhaps he didn’t want to install new drivers for a different video card or didn’t bother looking my motherboard up and thought, let’s just get the same one). The cost of his laziness? $500 for something that is worthless. This place was a complete waste of my time as I went out of my way to go here because of the good reviews. If the owner looks at your PC it might be better, but be wary of his employees.

I had given my laptop for service on 8th due to corrupted OS, they suggested to update Hard disk and RAM for performance improvement and agreed for that. I informed at first time it self-there is some issue with display screen having distraction. After hardware upgrade I went to collect my laptop, paid 330$(which is quite expensive for service and hardware) to cross check it I switched on laptop observed display screen having issues, which means they haven’t tested the laptop before delivering to customer and did troubleshooting in front of me with drivers and all, Issue is not fixed so again they said need to change the video card/graphics on mother board which cost around again 100$, I agreed for that also but I double checked with them, “will the issue fixed after hardware replacement” and he confidently said “Yes”. After few days I asked for the laptop delivery but it’s not done, almost two weeks. After that he is vacation so another person came into picture and he finally said issue is not fixed after replacing item. WHICH MEANS THEY ARE NOT TECHNICALY NOT SOUND ENOUGH TO FIND THE ISSUE AND FIXING. I haven’t taken the laptop delivery and I said it’s no use of laptop if display issue is not fixed, so please replace with old parts and return the amount I paid.so existing technician is not in position to solve issue so again he told that He will inform to his boss, I made a follow-up to get a call from his boss almost TEN Days. Daily making calls but no response at all. Always says I will get a call in 10 mins 20 mins but no call back. After lot of follow-up he called me and told it’s not possible to return the money that I spent. I told him clearly it’s no use of laptop if you not able to fix display problem but they are not in position to fix the issue and refused to return the money. I can understand that but the way of response and service they are doing is not good. If they are not sure and not confident enough on finding the issue and fixing then they should not mislead the customers. My view on this service center is THEY ARE NOT TECHNICALLY STRONG ENOUGH TO FIND THE ISSUE AND FIX IT. I wasted around 330$ and 20 days.

I had my desktop computer repaired by Alex back in February 2015 after being frustrated with shoddy repair work done by the Geek Squad at Best Buy. I called Vellve Systems on a Sunday, expecting to get a voicemail, and Alex answered the phone. I explained to him my problem, and he seemed to know immediately what it would take to finally fix my ongoing computer issue. He gave me a ballpark price over the phone (which seemed reasonable), and then I contacted him about two weeks later to schedule an appointment. When I dropped off my computer, he kept it about 7 days, which was longer than he had originally told me, but whenever I called, he was very responsive and give me an update on the work in progress. He was very thorough running different tests on the computer, and ultimately charged me a fair price for repairing my PC. Now, three months later, (knock on wood), my computer is still working fine. Best place for data recovery without a doubt . They recovered my pictures from a bad hard drive . Lesson learned for me to back up my important pictures online. The owner recovered all my pictures so fast without an extra charge .

I called on the phone because I was having a problem identifying a cable to a power supply. I took it in to see if they could help. When you need your computer the most, everything crashes! I had my taxes due this week and my computer decided not to turn on anymore. Kept giving me a loop in circles without getting anywhere. I called Vellve and they replaced my hard drive in no time. I was in by 9am today and picked up my computer by lunch with all my important data still in there.
