Found them on line, many positive reviews lead me to give them a try. They fixed the problem and wired a few more issues. No pressure. Pleasant staff. Kept me informed. Repairs done in a timely manner. I will continue to use them for service needs.

We broke down between 12B and 13 on I95 South bound in Warwick. We got off the road and hit a pothole in the grassy area that knocked the plastic covers off the bottom of the car. This place was picked due to proximity but I was very happy with the service. Bobby Judge handled everything for me and checked the car out. The cars issues were the alternator and a battery while throwing in the fixing of the plactic covers. Fixed it the next day but they would have fixed it the same day if I needed it. Great service and great customer service.

It's never a great day when an unexpected issue comes up with your vehicle. A routine oil change turned into a horror story when the plug on my pan snapped right off. I (luckily) have an extensive warranty and even before I was towed to J & S Auto (referred to me by the shop I purchased my vehicle from originally) Rick spoke to me and assured me they would take a look and advocate for me with our warranty company. I went from a "this never happens" scenario to discovering that my vehicle's manufacturer keeps oil pans in stock *because* these issues occur so often. Long story short, J & S were able to get everything covered under warranty *and* moreover, when they had the car on the lift, they noted that my brakes and rotors needed replacing. This was an unexpected fix (I've put less than 7k on [new to me car, but putchased used 2016 Lincoln MKZ], but these parts were original from manufacturing!) and I'll admit the sticker shock was a little overwhelming. However, I have never had a mechanic's shop work so hard with me to get the lowest possible price for the best possible materials before. Never. Not only did J & S bend over backward to help me, but Rick kept in constant phone and e-mail communication the entire time. My quote was sent to me in writing, and the costs ended up being *less* than originally anticipated. I queried about routine service, and a full-synthetic oil change is almost half as expensive as going to one of those roll-in/roll-out shops. I am sold. Completely and utterly.

I brought my vehicle in to have the oil changed. It took them ~15 minutes longer to complete the work than the hour they estimated as they looked into a few extra things related to a check engine light I had on. The price of the oil change was very reasonable and Bob at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The waiting area is reasonably comfortable with chairs, TV, WiFi, and coffee and other drinks. A little bit of oil got spilled during the change which led to a some smoking under my hood, hence 4 stars rather than 5. Overall, though, a good experience, and I'll plan to go back for other service needs.

J&S is a great small shop that can teach the big dealerships what great customer service is all about. It starts with the owner Joseph and continues with Bobby through the initial conversations about how to take care of your car issues. No robo scheduler here. Real people who get the problem solved. My technician was Carl and he was very professional in solving my pro air issue. They will have my future business and I would highly recommend them.

Had a great experience getting the oil changed on both mine and my husband's cars. We called in the morning, and were told that we could bring our cars in same-day. It was fairly busy that afternoon but Carl did a good job of getting our cars in and out in a timely manner. He is very knowledgeable and took the time to give us a lot of information about the oil and filters that they use. Great customer service, speedy turnaround, AND a terrific price for the oil change (plus they top off all fluids and check all systems.) They are also passionate about standing behind their products and service which is comforting. Would absolutely refer them, and will surely be coming back! Thanks Carl & crew!

My first time using J & S Auto, as my previous shop closed due to the owner retiring. I had an issue with the Air Suspension on my 2007 Audi A8L. J & S diagnosed as a burnt compressor and replaced the part. 1 day later, the same problem recurred. I called J & S, and they said to bring right in and they would fix. Turned out there was also a slow leak in the air strut, which caused the compressor to burn out. They replaced the strut at cost, with no labor and now I am as good as new. I judge a company on how they deal with problems when they occur, and J & S stepped up and did the right thing by me. Thank you to Bobby Judge & Joseph for taking care of me. You have a new customer.

I love this place! They are always quick to get us in and care about getting the vehicle fixed quickly. This past visit was for an inspection and oil change. I called on a Wednesday, dropped it off Thursday night and it was finished by Friday mid-day! What I didn't know til pick up was that I was charged ONLY for the inspection because of an error in the office. Rather than calling me and saying that I still owed for the oil change, they comped it for us! They put a note on the receipt giving us a heads up on the error and saying happy holidays! <3 They are awesome. We are considered new customers still but I will continue to go to them.

Had a loud noise front driver side tire area. They took my car right away for a test drive. Turns out the lugs were loose. The fixed it with no charge. Very friendly, helpful, and experienced. Will have all my auto repairs done there.

I would and have recommend J&S Auto to everyone I know. The professionalism from the front desk to the mechanic was outstanding!! I went in there to get my suv checked out and after looking at it they informed me I couldn’t drive it home, it was dangerous. They took me in the garage and showed me exactly what was wrong with it. They had My car fixed by the next day and charged me exactly what they quoted me! They even went out of their way to get my warranty company to pay for most of it. They were amazingly nice and efficient in every way! I found my new mechanic!

My car wasn’t functional. They took care of everything I needed and got me back on the road. The only thing I was a little perturbed about was that they did the repair without getting my approval. They called and left several messages but I was at work and couldn’t respond. The next day I found out that they had already made the repairs. Other than that they were very professional.

Since moving to RI last year with a 21 year old car, I’m lucky to have found J and S auto in Warwick conveniently located near the airport and Kent Hospital. They’ve been wonderfully attentive to my car’s many increasing needs as well as giving a poor carless student rides to the hospital after drop off. Last week they didn’t bat an eye as I showed up with my car literally in tow (thanks AAA) after it started death rattling on 95. They adeptly handled every problem my car threw at them as it turns out my brake lines eroded and my exhaust broke in 2 places. They kept me updated every step of the way and were even willing to talk to my Dad 4 states away as it was his car first. Bobby, Mark and Joseph were all phenomenal, accessible, and I continue to have full trust in them. I was touched with them taking time to go over what they did to repair it and by watching me do a test drive to make sure I was comfortable. I’m grateful for their time, energy, and commitment. What makes this auto repair so unique is they make good on all their work. This past spring our car needed a serpentine snake. After driving the car during wet weather I heard a squeal. I brought it back just to get it checked and they found the problem in the installation of the snake and immediately made the correction without any charge. To say the least the integrity of the people at JS is above reproarch. I would recommend JS to anyone who needs any car service.

I just picked up my from J & S Auto Repair and I am very particular about repair shops. Definitely go here. They deserve a 5+ star rating. I decided to try them instead of go to my dealership which was very expensive. My car needed a lot of front end work rear brakes and had an electrical problem with a headlight. All fixed by the next day with a 36,000 mile work guarantee. Super nice people. Worked with my warranty company and made sure they gave me a car rental. The cost of the work was very reasonable.

J&S has gone above and beyond for me since day one and they are the only people I trust with my vehicles. They do great repairs, they communicate well and make sure I know exactly what to expect. I've never had a surprise when paying my bill and I always have confidence in their work. On my last visit, the estimate was for much more than I was prepared to spend. I already knew my car was on its last legs. They were able to work with me to find a fair price to make it safe and get me back on the road to buy a bit of time, get back to work and sort out a new solution. I guarantee they will be the only people who ever work on my cars. I really can't say enough good things about them. --Update 2/11/19-- J&S Is still the best shop around. My old car finally bit the dust (it was well past due) and my wife and I got two new-to-us vehicles. When her car had an issue with the keyless ignition I spoke with J&S and they very honestly told me that for that issue, though they could fix, it would be more efficient to take it to the dealer. I really appreciated their honesty. Most shops would have simply taken my money. My car recently developed a new squeak and I took it in. They recognized that this car is in good shape and I need it to last. They were very thorough in their inspection, diagnosed the issue, recognized a couple of other issues that hadn't yet become critical and were very accommodating with allowing me to decide how much to take care of immediately. They repaired my car in record time and were a delight to work with. Joseph even texted a few days later to make sure everything was going well. They really set the standard for service.

Last year I took advantage of the air conditioning re-tune, well this year it was not cooling.I told Carl the problem and he said he would look at it.Well ,his team look at it and check for leaks and added refrigerant. After having a few warning lights come on, I set up an appointment through the online portal and everything went smoothly from there. They fixed the issues with my car and handled all the paperwork with the maxcare warranty I have. The only negative was it took a day and a half so they set me up with a rental car, which was fine, just a bit of a hassle. Haven’t had any more issues yet with my car since they made the repairs.

The ONLY honest, reliable and affordable automotive repair shop in Rhode Island. J & S fixed an on going engine problem that I had with my Volvo S40. The problem is finally fixed after thousands of dollars spent with my original repair shop in East Greenwich. It seemed like every time I had a problem with the Volvo and had my original repair shop fix it, something else went wrong. It seemed like the problems would never stop. I am so happy I found J&S Auto! I called on a Thursday morning at 9am to make an appointment and spoke to Bobby, after I told him what was going on with my car he said bring it right in. Then he asked me if I needed a ride home, I was so excited I said that would be great. Rick and Bobby both greeted me when I arrived. Bobby had a nice young man named Devin drive me home. About an hour later they called me with a diagnosis and a quote that was very reasonable. I will definitely be going back soon for my state inspection and an oil change.

I thought by reading other reviews this place would be an honest, trusting shop to have all my cars maintained at, but after spending 906$ on my sons lincoln just to have the engine light on the same day it was picked up and after spending 1530$ on my BMW for a no-start issue just to have every light on my dashboard on and 8 days later to have a no-start issue again, I am super dissapointed. Maybe when i called to discuss the problem with them, they could of at least been a little understanding and concerned but just rude and interrupt me as I'm explaining to them the problem just made me more upset. Telling me to bring the car back, um how it doesnt start again... I paid them 120$ the first time to pick it up, wouldnt you offer to pick it up again to see what the problem is for free, anything to help?after spending almost 3000$ in one month with them on both our cars to have both of them with same issues and additional! Im super dissapointed at this point I wouldnt return there if they offered to fix it for free... Hopefully others will be treated better than my family, as for us we will never return there, Thanks J&S for the 8 days of driving and all the money we spent with you for nothing.

They said they could look at my car that day and also have it towed so I didn't have to call another place for that, that was very convenient! J and S did a great job servicing my 2013 Jeep Patriot for suspension and tire work a week and a half ago. They were very thorough and helpful. They found and took care of needed work the dealership to which I took it had missed. The alignment and wheel balancing the Jeep dealership claimed to have done left the car vibrating wildly at 40 mph and above. J and S fixed all of that. Rick and Devin were great as well as the technicians. I highly recommend J and S for auto repairs on your vehicle.

I recommend this shop. I first went here using a Groupon deal a few years back. This was when they were located at the challenging spot close to the Warwick rotunda. Back then, the owner had just opened shop. My deal kept me coming back 3x for an oil change. I was happy with my service and their rates. I would have continued had it not been for the inconvenient location but I certainly have not forgotten this place. I was glad to see they moved to the current Roseland Av location, close to the airport and the 37 and 95 exits. I definitely will go back next time I need a maintenance service.

This auto shop was horrible. I saw lots of good reviews so I thought I would give them chance. I have a faulty parking brake and the gear shifter isn't working well. They told me when I set up the appointment there would be no charge to assess the vehicle. I dropped off the car and the guy behind the counter said there would be no charge to assess the vehicle after I told him what was wrong. I told him I was on a budget with these repairs and he said he understood and stated that everyone was on a budget these days. He assured me they would call before performing any work with an estimate, and reiterating there was no charge to assess and he would call me before doing any work. So they called me a bit over six hours later and said I needed all new parking brake components, a new gear shift cable and housing and said it was $840. I told them I couldn't afford that much right now. He said, OK come and get your car and that will be $120 and hung up the phone. I arrived at the shop and reminded them I was told twice there was no charge to assess the car. They said that was only for the parking brake, not the gear shifter. Wouldn't that have been nice to clarify before I left them my car. I would never have agreed to that. I paid them $120 for nothing. They did nothing, except steal $120 from me, give me the most ridiculous $1200 estimate, and they repaired nothing. I already new the shifter and parking brake were broken. Somehow the $850 estimate on the phone went to $1200 by the time I drove there. My car is a 2004 basic Honda, not a Porsche, these guys are way out there with their prices. I looked up the shifter cable at the Honda dealership online, is $62. They wanted several hundred percent markup on the part, plus insane labor fees. Plus they stole my $120 claiming it was to assess the gear shifter, but up front on two separate occasions, stated there would be no charge. These guys are as bad as I have ever seen. Completely dishonest, poor communication, and borderline criminal in my opinion. Do not let the other reviews fool you, they must have been written by close friends and family. My experience was the exact opposite, trust me, avoid these guys unless you have lots of money to waste. My search for a competent honest mechanic in RI continues.
