WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM DELL!!!
The McDonald's of electronics. Dell stole my money, secretly billing me for a warranty extension for a warranty I wasn't supposed to pay for in the first place (I declined). When they billed me for the original warranty they tried to say there's nothing they can do and kept my money. Then that warranty was expiring last month, so they sent me an email reminder every day. Turns out, the Rewards points I earned from a $2500 purchase in April, $128.70, is what they used to pay for a warranty EXTENSION for the convenient price of...$128.70. Obviously they never emailed me a receipt, and I only found out about this purchase when I called to ask where my Rewards disappeared to. "Oh, it's because you bought an extended warranty in May and you used you points (down to the last cent) for that purchase." "Uh, no, I never made any purchase after the $2500 for which you owe me my Reward points." That call lasted over TWO AND A HALF HOURS until they were going to get me "on the line with the right person and explain everything to them for you," as they had said countless times during the phone call, and then I was transferred to an automated system that thanked me for my call and then hung up. Today I called one more time, and again everyone I speak to tells me I need to speak to a different department, the same departments that tell me I need to speak to the original department. They stole my money and they refuse to even discuss their theft or the reimbursement therefor. I said I'm filing a civil suit since they refuse to give me the money they stole, and I asked for the fraud department or their legal department. During yesterday's call, they said Customer Care is the legal department. I don't know if all these Indians can't understand English and just read a script, or if they're all in on the scam, and the latter appears to be the case. So they transferred me to the Fraud department, who, after hearing my complaint said they would transfer me to the corporate legal department, and then transferred me to another person who said they were the fraud department. The second fraud department rep told me they only handle fraudulent spam phone calls. So they would like me to believe they have a fraud department dedicated to complaints about spam phone calls, but they don't have anyone in the entire company who can return to me the money which they stole to pay themselves for a warranty extension on a warranty I refused more than a year ago, that just so happens to be the exact dollar and cent amount of the Reward points I earned. I won't get into the fact that I earned the Reward points by buying a $2200 camera, me having records of three different reps all promising there is a 12-month zero APR for the purchase, only to be told when I finalized the purchase that I need to buy a second camera for $200 in order to get zero APR. I needed the expensive camera, so I was forced to buy both, then sold the second camera. Dell is nothing but con-artist Indian scammers. They're a loathsome, corrupt company that survives only by duping their way into federal government contracts. I told them my call today was my final call, and if there was no resolution, I'll be filing a lawsuit. That's what I'm starting tomorrow. I am suing for the original $2500 purchase amount as well as punitive damages. I recorded all hours of my phone calls with them, which ended in me abruptly being hung up on. They're the McDonald's of the electronics world. Adiós!
