Edit: same issue reared it’s ugly head again (charge port gone bad, can’t really fault them tough, Samsung made this very poorly and cheaply on my laptop. Monster computers went above and beyond. They came to my home and fixed my computers. I am elderly and dragging multiple towers down two flights of stairs would have been both dangerous and impractical. I called numerous companies and everyone wanted me to bring my computers to the shop. Tiffany and her husband came to my home and did a superb job. Her husband was kind enough to take out some trash for me. I cannot say enough about this company. I am very impressed. My computers work great. They also took the time to explain and showed me which computers were expensive and which were disposable. Furthermore, they were reasonably priced. Honest, thoughtful, dependable, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced!!!!

Brought my laptop in for what was thought as a screen problem. They let me use a loaner laptop in the meantime because it was going to take awhile for my screen to come in. It turned out that the screen wasn't the problem and they didn't charge me extra for the repair. They are a stand up company and have superb customer service. I just took in my desktop computer and they debugged everything for me and did a great job in time and professionalism. I told them about my move across the world for a few years and they set me up with a tool that will allow them to help me even when I am over there. Went to Monster based on all the positive reviews. It is also close to Fort Bragg, which made it the most convenient option for me. I just brought my Windows laptop that I use for work and they were able to clean it up so that its working faster. They also gave it the "deployment special" so that I can access Army Web sites without unnecessary hassle. Will definitely go back if other services are needed.

He had them done in no time, price was very good for the service, courteous and very professional. I then visited the store and it was very clean and organized and appealing as a shopper. The Associate took a look at my Hard Drive and verified some files and that they could help. This place had excellent reviews, and I was happy to have that reassurance. I needed the charge port replaced on my Asus laptop. The woman I left the computer with seemed competent. When I picked up the computer, the person told me I had chipped the motherboard and they were unable to start the laptop. It had been turning on and off very easily before I left it there, no idea what they're talking about as I'd had it turn on since the last time it was plugged in. However, as a person who knows more about software than hardware I trusted their assessment and just assumed I was dumb. I paid for the charge port repair and left. But. When I went to get my data off the laptop, the recovery tech said my motherboard wasn't chipped at all. He showed me. I called Monster and was told (after some long pauses) that I had "arced" the motherboard and shorted it out by wrapping the cable under the computer. They said the original tech misspoke. My tech who was recovering the data asked if I was plugged into a surge protector which I was (always am) and also said that sounded pretty unlikely since I'd had the computer turn on since the last time it was plugged in. I then took my computer to an Asus tech support recommended technician in Raleigh and paid for an inspection. The technician asked me a lot of questions about what I had done with the cable (had me show him on a shop model) and then told me the repair shop had clearly done something to the computer themselves. He wasn't sure what, but he said what I did wouldn't have done anything to my motherboard, even if I were lying about how hard I wrapped the cord and about having it turn on since I plugged it in last. Long story short, someone at Monster broke my $1000 computer. Either everyone knows it and is covering up, or one person lied convincingly. I'm not sure. All I know is that I'm a retired veteran who works from home and I am now using a $300 laptop as it was the only thing I could afford (the other laptop I'd saved for for almost a year). I guess the takeaway is, if something goes wrong they will lie about it. I'm pretty disappointed. I wanted to like this place.

So I am a frequent visitor to Monster Computers as I build my own Gaming Rigs, order parts through them, and get some advice here or there on what's new, what to do in certain situations, etc. and I have to say...best computer "repair" shop I have ever been to. They let me utilize their tools if I need to fix something, use their air compressor to blow out my rig, and hook me up with some of the best computer hardware/gear I can get at a great price Deke, one of the managers, is hands down the best manager I have ever seen in an institution. Not only does he hook you up with whatever he can, he will give you hands on help with your rig if you need it, for free! Would I recommend Monster Computers in the future? Hell yes. I tell all of my friends/family/co-workers to go to them for anything they need, and their Deployment Special is awesome! Free anti-virus scans and programs, free Microsoft Office, they're awesome! I will definitely be going back to Monster Computers as I do almost weekly/biweekly for any computer needs I have. Definitely a reason they have 4.5+ stars out of 5. And that's because no one can compare!

Two times recently I've had emergencies with my computer. At the time my old computer repair guy had retired from his repair business. Because it was an emergency, I had no choice but to go to the nearest repair shop. The first incident was when my 2 terabyte backup stopped working (Can you say mass panic). I took it in and the young lady explained the whole process to me in detail (courteous and friendly) following the explanation of my issue. The next morning she called an notified me that the circuit board had gone bad and it should be fixed later that day, no later than the next. The following day I picked it up and was assured there was no data loss. It worked perfectly and I've had 0 zero problems with it. The repair cost was pleasantly reasonable. The professionalism and speed was outstanding. The second visit as well went off without a hitch. This time I spoke with a young man and the owner. Again, nothing but professional and courteous. The problem was fixed while I waited. They have a wide range of diagnostic options and modern equipment, as well as a clean and organized retail area that is stocked with a variety of hardware and peripherals. For a retail store their prices are competitive with local stores of the same type. I was very disappointed to find out how much they over charged me for not being able to fix my hard drive. I understand that they might want to charge a desk fee but to charge like they fixed it is all against customer service. So, I left with a broken piece and a $65 bill. Next time I will just go to geek squad. They are fear with the customer and wont charge if nothing can be fixed.

I spoke with Robert on the phone and he assured me that he could help me save my files off of a 15 year old computer that had begun to shut down suddenly. I dealt with Robin in the store. She had the patience of a saint with me, showing me how to navigate my new computer and answering questions about backup drives. Such an asset to the company. My files were saved from 2 very old computers and moved to my new one. Robin even changed my screen from Windows 10 to a classic Windows 8/Vista that I was more used to. I have never experienced such good customer service.They listened to what I had to say about the problems I was experiencing with my computer, and they also offered advice. I originally took my computer to Best Buy where they "blew out" my computer and told me that my cooling fan was going to go, so I would need to replace it. I was fine with that. But wanted a second opinion. So I came to Monster computers to get the fan replaced with the idea I was going to be told that I needed another computer. They saved my computer and also saved me money. I would bring my computer back any time. They were great.

They took really good care of me by listening to my needs and understanding exactly what my problems were that I was experiencing with my computer. A long story short, I took my computer in when it first opened shop and I went to picked it up at 5 that same evening. They fixed it, updated it, and put a virus protection on it and here it is 3 months later and I have not experienced any problems. Have taken my Asus laptop in numerous times. Originally, because the keyboard was messed up ...2 keys needed replacing but entire keyboard had to be replaced instead. When I took it home, it became "bouncy", had to take it back to redo. Picked it up, it worked fine, but then it kept "overheating" and would shut off. Took it back. They "fixed" it. A couple of days later, started again. Took it back. While in the shop the tech wiped my computer. All files originally installed by Asus wiped off. I was told the tech had been fired and they would restore my laptop. Still not fixed. No matter what I try to do on it now that I used to do, I get error messages. Laptop will never be the same. Files have never been retrieved. Programs never reinstalled. It has some age on it, I admit, but everything functioned properly before I took it there except the overheating. Now, it is basically junk. I paid nearly $1,000 for this gaming computer with a lit keypad, and all the bells and whistles at the time and now I have a laptop that can only perform the most basic functions. I will never take it back there again and will make sure no one I know ever goes there. VERY dissatisfied customer!

Most places ACT like they are but most are not. They honor the Military Active and Retired!! Now that is a plus for me. Atmosphere as very warming also. I will definitely tell everyone I know with a computer issue to go see them!!! I say they are the best in NC hands down! Great prices...the cheapest I have found.

I went in to build a PC. It was expertly constructed in less than an hour. I was taught by my assembler about much of its construct, was provided free high value thermal paste and some screws I forgot bring, and was taught about general maintenance at no extra charge. In addition, my build continued to receive work after this establishment was closed (I went in late). I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff is extraordinary (ask for Deek). A much deserved, five stars.

One word to describe everything with this store, "Horrible". I brought in my new work laptop to this store on Saturday June 22nd. I will detail my account of events. Saturday June 22nd. Turning in my laptop and inquiring If not having my charger if it was going to be a problem, I was told no it would not be an issue. I was told it would be done by the end of the business day and would receive a call, I never received a call. I made the call near the end of the business day to only find out it will be ready on Monday. Sunday June 23rd: Business is closed on Sunday which is fine. No complaint there. Monday June 24th: I called the store and was told by the employee my laptop was not finished. Tuesday June 25th: I called later in the afternoon and ask if it was completed I was informed it had not been started. Near closing of business they told me they need me to bring my computer charger because my battery had just died after telling me they had another charger in the store that worked with my computer previously and not to worry about the charger. Wednesday June 26th: Time now 1017AM ( I keep updating this as I sit outside their store) the store doors are still closed and locked with the business hours listed as open from 9 AM to 6 PM. I understand if there was a family emergency or some situation but usually that would be posted on the window or door of the store and in this case no sign or notice is posted. Another gentleman tried to open the door and discovered it was locked. He looked at me and said this is the third time this has happened to him. He is about to ask for a refund of anything ordered and to ask for his laptop back. To sum this all up. Those who gave this place high reviews good for them they must have been the lucky ones or I just must have the worst luck in the world with this place but having this go on for nearly a week is ridiculous and hearing another individual say the same thing raises some concerns. Note: employee opened up store at 1035 am.

I had been having computer issues for some time. I decided it was time to format the hard drives and reinstall my OS. After reinstalling the OS my computer wouldn't start. I called Monster Computers based off a Yelp review. They tried to trouble shoot the problem immediately over the phone. I had been working on the computer for some time and was frustrated and stuck. I took it in and they immediately started trouble shooting it. They let me go in the back and talked with me about my computer. We had little hope for our touchscreen HP but for FAR less than what we anticipated paying, it is running faster than ever. No clue how this place has 240 reviews. This place is slimey and scammy. Don’t go here if you’re looking for a reasonably priced place. They over charge, they also take out stuff from your laptop/pc that you didn’t even ask for them to do. They’ll say it’s “free”, but obviously the items taken out of your device will be sold elsewhere for them to make profit (this is if you don’t ask for your stuff or if it exceeds a certain amount of days) Overall just super scammy. A lot of issues you have and items that need to be replaced shouldn’t cost as much as they’re charging. Also you pretty much have to babysit these people in order to get anything done. They’re not upfront and give different answers. Maybe to a tech newbie they’ll see these guys as experienced and knowledgeable, but I can only see sketchy individuals.

I upset my laptop has been there over 15 days. I was told I needed a mother board which takes 5-7 days to get and 3 days to install. I paid $200.00 for repairs $99.00 and for mother board $120.00 I’m still waiting on someone to fix it. I believe I’m due a discount at this point because this is causing me to have issues with doing my schoolwork and other things. I might need to report this to the BBB. This service is not fast. They shouldn’t tell you a timeframe for your service to be completed.
