I have never received such terrible customer service in my life thus far by a few people that did not seem qualified to do their job here. When my family and I first got into the Microsoft Store we were immediately racially profiled by a rude female employee of the same race that kept following us around a tiny store, like for real you have to be STUPID to steal out of a mall store especially Microsoft, the exit is extremely far away even for a crook! In fact, I originally walked into the store to exchange my surface pro 4 tablet for what I expected to be a brand new tablet after a couple of online Microsoft chat agents told me this information. However, the lady at the front counter was like, "I don't know if the device is new or not." Duh... it's not new the original boxing and seal is gone STUPID. This entire ordeal with this particular Microsoft location made me give them a bad rating along with Microsoft's online chat agency and call center. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MICROSOFT STORE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE RACIALLY PROFILED OR ENCOUNTER NONCHALANT EMPLOYEES BESIDES A COUPLE! THIS LOCATION DESERVES A NEGATIVE STAR ASAP! THE ENTIRE SITUATION WAS ENERGY DRAINING!

These guys change from there commitments with in just 1 day. They promise to provide the replacement first day and second day they change as they don't know what they commit first day. They provide with a defected piece after 3 months went to the store and report it. They acknowledged the same and the next day screen gets crack.... they said they will replace and in next day they say don't. I understand you don't want to replace OK who ask you for replacement .... i didn't beg you for replacement but you guys said we will replace ..... i don't want to take visit again and again to your store ..... i don't want your replace machine too..... the point is who promised to replace machine its you and last you say Apologies. Let me ask when you don't know the RCA how you can say its an accidental damage where your technical said its a cosmetic defect. I am sorry but you are no where near Apple so please don't try to compare it even..........

Fun store with hands-on product and helpful staff. Also they often have video game events, and you can live demo the latest AR and VR stuff. Personally, I got a killer deal on an XPS, which I did not expect to find at a store like this.

Now this is a fun place to go to. They have a Virtual Reality Simulator Demo that you can do for free after you sign a waiver (you need to be 14 yrs old and be 18 to sign the waiver) it is soooooooooooooooooooo much fun and i stop in every time I go to the mall.

Really surprised by the positive reviews, as both of my experiences with this store were textbook terrible. The staff is just standing around playing video games (even with no one else in the store) and act like you are interrupting them if, after being ignored, you approach them with a question. On top of that, we called in advance to see if they had a product, were told that they did, and drove out only to find they didn't actually have it. No surprise once I saw how the employees were behaving in the store as I'm sure the person I spoke with didn't even check to see if they carried the product. Save yourself time and just order from the online Microsoft store which offers free, prepaid returns on everything.

As some point MS corporate must have decided that the customer really does matter. So they stole a retail model from the Apple Store and set up shop. So be it. This store is doing it right. The one time we were in looking for hardware they were very helpful, asking questions about how we were going use the new machine and analyzing the needs before making suggestions. Their suggestions seemed sound, but we weren't ready to buy. It was OK - the staff isn't trying to live on commission, so there was no arm twisting. We've also been in 2-3 times for service on hardware purchased elsewhere. The online appointment system works fairly well, but I don't think you'd want to walk in without an appointment. They seem pretty busy.

I went into the store because my Xbox One Elite controller (generation 1) that was fairly new was having issues. The staff was courteous and polite even though I was difficult. In the end, they helped me with my request and I left the store feeling my voice was heard and satisfied with the service they provided. Thank you.

The Southpoint Microsoft store is always a good shop for browsing around if you're a tech person! Virtual reality headsets, a range of laptops that are actually good, friendly employees, and some good accessories. The stock doesn't update too often, but otherwise, a neat stop.

If you come for devialet, save your time and money. They only have the reactor 600, and won't even let you try the volume of the thing... Plus it was plugged by 3.5mm from a slow PC. The staff there have no idea of the thing, the guy asked me 'did you mean JBL?' When I said Devialet at least 4 times... All I heard was the noise in the store. Bad experience, Devialet your dealer just disappointed at least two gold phantom customer.

Matt spent a ton of time helping me understand my needs and the difference between my surface pro 3 and pro 6. I do have a gripe and the store almost lost a star for sticking issues. After getting pumped up about this big purchase, they did not have the model I wanted... I asked if they would honor the sale when they got stocked and they said THEY WOULD! So point back for that. A few months ago I wrote SEVERAL NEGATIVE REVIEWS about the MICROSOFT STORE @ SOUTHPOINT MALL in DURHAM NC on GOOGLE and on FACEBOOK. Today I removed ALL the NEGATIVE REVIEWS and am REPLACING THEM with the following: The NEGATIVE REVIEWS were written because I was feeling VERY DISCOURAGED because after several visits to this store the issues with my NEW LAPTOP (purchased at this store) still WERE NOT RESOLVED. In response to these reviews I was contacted by a manager at this store. They offered to REPLACE the LAPTOP I was having difficulty with. I went into the store on November 30, 2016 (my 55th birthday) & I was introduced to the store manager, ROB! Where in previous visits I found staff less than helpful ROB WENT ABOVE & BEYOND TO SEE THAT WHEN I LEFT THE STORE I WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED. After replacing BOTH the LAPTOP and the TABLET (another Microsoft Store @ Southpoint purchase_ that I was dissatisfied with Rob went out of his way to assure that all my files from the LAPTOP I turned in were transferred over & he did the same with the tablet. When I had issues getting my other components (Printer, External Hard Drive, etc.) to work in sync with one another I called Rob & once again he went out of this way to make sure that everything worked well together. Just before the December holidays I began experiencing some minor problems with Word & my Search Engines. Because of the holidays & now the very bad winter storm in Durham I held off contacting Rob to see how these issues could be resolved. On the morning of January 9, issues with some programs & the Search Engine persisted & despite my many efforts I could not resolve them. Rob had previously provided me with his cell phone number but due to major renovations in my apartment the number was misplaced. I attempted to call Rob using the phone number for the store but could not reach him. I contacted him by making an appointment in the store but commenting when I made the appointment that I really DID NOT want an appointment I NEEDED ROB TO CONTACT ME! Rob called me almost IMMEDIATELY. I explained to Rob what was going on with the computer. I also explained that due to an accident just before New Year’s I had injured my hand. Because I drive a HAND-CONTROLLED CAR (I am physically disabled) doctors were LIMITING my driving. Rob said to give him a few minutes to get a Tech. Within an hour Rob & the tech came to my apartment & worked diligently to correct all the issues with laptop. The tech was also able to recover PASSWORDS to accounts that I was having difficulty accessing. As if this were not enough I mentioned to Rob & the tech that I DID NOT go out all last week due to the injury & now this week the snow & ice was preventing me from getting out. I said I have doctor’s appointment on Wednesday but did not know if I could get my car out as it is buried under a ton of ice. While the tech continued to work on the issues with the computer; Rob went outside & cleared the snow & ice off my car! WOW! THIS IS DEFINITELY CUSTOMER SERVICE AT IT’S BEST! Where my INITIAL EXPERIENCES with this store were negative thanks to the COMPASSION & DEDICATION of the manager ROB I am now a VERY BIG FAN OF THE MICROSOFT STORE @ SOUTHPOINT MALL in DURHAM & will DEFINITELY DO BUSINESS WITH THEM IN THE FUTURE! THANK YOU AGAIN ROB – YOU ARE THE EPITOME OF WHAT RETAIL CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE!

Zero customer service! I walked in with a budget of $2,000 looking for a new laptop. One associate at the door on her phone, 2 playing the VR headset and one checking out a family of 3 behind the counter. I was the only one in the store and spent 45mins, touched every laptop= opened programs, powered on/off, lifted for weight, etc. Wasn't approached once. Undaunted, went to the apple store. Associate that helped me was legally deaf. I cant sign but he answered every question I had. I love my new macbook! TRY HARDER MICROSOFT.. WAY, WAY HARDER!

In response to these reviews I was contacted by a manager at this store. They offered to REPLACE the LAPTOP I was having difficulty with. I went into the store on November 30, 2016 (my 55th birthday) & I was introduced to the store manager, ROB! Where in previous visits I found staff less than helpful ROB WENT ABOVE & BEYOND TO SEE THAT WHEN I LEFT THE STORE I WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED. After replacing BOTH the LAPTOP and the TABLET (another Microsoft Store @ Southpoint purchase_ that I was dissatisfied with Rob went out of his way to assure that all my files from the LAPTOP I turned in were transferred over & he did the same with the tablet. When I had issues getting my other components (Printer, External Hard Drive, etc.) to work in sync with one another I called Rob & once again he went out of this way to make sure that everything worked well together. Just before the December holidays I began experiencing some minor problems with Word & my Search Engines. Because of the holidays & now the very bad winter storm in Durham I held off contacting Rob to see how these issues could be resolved. On the morning of January 9, issues with some programs & the Search Engine persisted & despite my many efforts I could not resolve them. Rob had previously provided me with his cell phone number but due to major renovations in my apartment the number was misplaced. I attempted to call Rob using the phone number for the store but could not reach him. I contacted him by making an appointment in the store but commenting when I made the appointment that I really DID NOT want an appointment I NEEDED ROB TO CONTACT ME! Rob called me almost IMMEDIATELY. I explained to Rob what was going on with the computer. I also explained that due to an accident just before New Year’s I had injured my hand. Because I drive a HAND-CONTROLLED CAR (I am physically disabled) doctors were LIMITING my driving. Rob said to give him a few minutes to get a Tech. Within an hour Rob & the tech came to my apartment & worked diligently to correct all the issues with laptop. The tech was also able to recover PASSWORDS to accounts that I was having difficulty accessing. As if this were not enough I mentioned to Rob & the tech that I DID NOT go out all last week due to the injury & now this week the snow & ice was preventing me from getting out. I said I have doctor’s appointment on Wednesday but did not know if I could get my car out as it is buried under a ton of ice. While the tech continued to work on the issues with the computer; Rob went outside & cleared the snow & ice off my car! WOW! THIS IS DEFINITELY CUSTOMER SERVICE AT IT’S BEST! Where my INITIAL EXPERIENCES with this store were negative thanks to the COMPASSION & DEDICATION of the manager ROB I am now a VERY BIG FAN OF THE MICROSOFT STORE @ SOUTHPOINT MALL in DURHAM & will DEFINITELY DO BUSINESS WITH THEM IN THE FUTURE! THANK YOU AGAIN ROB – YOU ARE THE EPITOME OF WHAT RETAIL CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE!

Zero customer service! I walked in with a budget of $2,000 looking for a new laptop. One associate at the door on her phone, 2 playing the VR headset and one checking out a family of 3 behind the counter. I was the only one in the store and spent 45mins, touched every laptop= opened programs, powered on/off, lifted for weight, etc. Wasn't approached once. Undaunted, went to the apple store. Associate that helped me was legally deaf. I cant sign but he answered every question I had. I love my new macbook! TRY HARDER MICROSOFT.. WAY, WAY HARDER!

I came to this store and they replaced the console; paid game data did not tranfer to my "new" console. Two months later that consoles disk drive broke. This store replaced my 2nd broken cinsole with a 3rd. They did not offer to do the initial xbox update while I was in the store or reimburse me for the lost game data. Since Microsoft did not plug in my 3rd xbox to see if it works I am now at home with a 3rd xbox that is dead on arrival. My time with my family and loved ones that I have wasted with this store and Microsoft support will be lost. I recommend you go to a different Microsoft store that cares about its customers. I asked if they would upgrade my console for my trouble. They wont. I asked if they would reimburse me for my lost paid game data. They wont. I spoke to the tech Ryan and his supervisor Brittney. I am extremely disappointed; words or stars can not even describe my dissatisfaction.

I took my surface book 2 to have it looked at because of yellow pixle discoloration on the screen. The tech that looked at it said there was nothing to do to fix it and the best option was to buy a replacement for $600. Keep in mind I've already spent $1600 on this device. Yes I know it is 6 months out of warranty but I bought their flagship computer. After I left the store I called Microsoft directly to see if they could help me. I have not heard back so I called the manager at the store. I asked him if there was anything that they could do for me because I have been a loyal customer in multiple devices through work. He said that all he could do was offer 10% off of the $600 replacement fee. Poor customer service, this will be the last time I buy a surface device.

Would not recommend buying a console from this store. Had an issue with the hdmi port on my xbox one x and was told by Microsoft support that I could go to the store and have the console swapped out even because they had the exact one I purchased in stock. However after an hour and a half drive to get to the store I was told that even though they had the console in stock they could not swap it out and I would have to wait 7 to 10 days for it to be repaired. Wasted three hours of driving for nothing.

Wasted time and effort. They were less than worthless, came in with xbox 1s that wouldn't turn on. They pulled out a power cord plugged it in and it works great I needed new power cord. Of course they didn't have any new power cords, other than for testing. They told us if we made an appointment to come back later they will give us a whole new Xbox One S. We told them we drove an hour and a half to get there we weren't coming back again when we were standing there right then. The manager was standing there, talking about where she went to dinner last night. The person helping us wanted to just get it done, when he tried to talk to her she snapped at him and told him she was in a meeting we would have to make an appointment. He looked at us Shrugged and said I'm sorry you'll either have to make an appointment or just go to Best Buy and get a new power cord. I want to be clear my wife and I were the only people in this store other than the five employees that were there. This was at 3:45 in the afternoon when we walked in. they weren't busy, they had nothing to do. The manager and two of the employees she was quote in a meeting with made it quite clear they could have cared less and were offended that the young man would interrupt them. Needless to say I won't be going back to this Microsoft store and I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone else do so either.

Singularly unhelpful and uninterested in assisting my husband and I with a simple cord exchange on an Xbox1. I believe the issue was that there was some kind of "tech" meeting going behind the counter involving quite a few staff, which appeared to more important than customer service. It was quickly determined that our issue was a faulty power cord. The lone assistant did his best to help us, but could only offer us an appointment 40 minutes later, even though we were literally the only people in the store. He also offered to swap the entire machine out, which is nice I guess but over the top imo. They were out of stock for power cords so we drove down the road to Best Buy to buy one, even though our box is still under warranty. On the plus side, that tech team talked at great length about the places they ate at in Durham last night, so we've got that going for us. Thanks Microsoft.

This is the only Microsoft Store I'm aware of in the triangle area, and I stop in every time I'm at Southpoint. They have what you would expect: Xbox products, computers for sale, and Microsoft products such as the Surface Book, etc. It's fun to stop in and see what new technology is available. They have PCs set up to try various games as well as VR and Xbox set up to try new console exclusives. I believe they also do training classes to help folks learn Office, use Windows, etc. The staff is knowledgeable and always friendly, and the prices are pretty close or identical to what you'd pay online, especially for Microsoft products.

Would not recommend buying a console from this store. Had an issue with the hdmi port on my xbox one x and was told by Microsoft support that I could go to the store and have the console swapped out even because they had the exact one I purchased in stock. However after an hour and a half drive to get to the store I was told that even though they had the console in stock they could not swap it out and I would have to wait 7 to 10 days for it to be repaired. Wasted three hours of driving for nothing.

In the market to purchase virtual reality system for my son. Went to test virtual system at store and was told my son who is 10 was not old enough to test system. Had to be 13 years or older to try it out. Microsoft better figure out a better sales technique or they won't be selling too many systems to families. Checking out Samsung next at Best Buy.

Wasted time and effort. They were less than worthless, came in with xbox 1s that wouldn't turn on. They pulled out a power cord plugged it in and it works great I needed new power cord. Of course they didn't have any new power cords, other than for testing. They told us if we made an appointment to come back later they will give us a whole new Xbox One S. We told them we drove an hour and a half to get there we weren't coming back again when we were standing there right then. The manager was standing there, talking about where she went to dinner last night. The person helping us wanted to just get it done, when he tried to talk to her she snapped at him and told him she was in a meeting we would have to make an appointment. He looked at us Shrugged and said I'm sorry you'll either have to make an appointment or just go to Best Buy and get a new power cord. I want to be clear my wife and I were the only people in this store other than the five employees that were there. This was at 3:45 in the afternoon when we walked in. they weren't busy, they had nothing to do. The manager and two of the employees she was quote in a meeting with made it quite clear they could have cared less and were offended that the young man would interrupt them. Needless to say I won't be going back to this Microsoft store and I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone else do so either.

The store is phenomenal, and the people who work there, make it the only store I'll go to for my technology needs. Went in for a product defect, Lavar was extremely nice and helpful in resolving my issue. I went in with a bulging battery at 11am and walked out with a replacement at 11:45am. It was a great experience.

Sean in the I.T. department did everything he could to try to save our Surface Pro 4. After exhausting every avenue he could think of he helped us switch to a refurbished one. He helped us set up that one and also looked into a Dell laptop issue we had. He went above and beyond for us, we are not happy to lose our computer but are very happy with his customer service/communication and effort.

Singularly unhelpful and uninterested in assisting my husband and I with a simple cord exchange on an Xbox1. I believe the issue was that there was some kind of "tech" meeting going behind the counter involving quite a few staff, which appeared to more important than customer service. It was quickly determined that our issue was a faulty power cord. The lone assistant did his best to help us, but could only offer us an appointment 40 minutes later, even though we were literally the only people in the store. He also offered to swap the entire machine out, which is nice I guess but over the top imo. They were out of stock for power cords so we drove down the road to Best Buy to buy one, even though our box is still under warranty. On the plus side, that tech team talked at great length about the places they ate at in Durham last night, so we've got that going for us. Thanks Microsoft.

This store's employees have been great to work with in the few times I have brought my Surface Pro 4 in with questions or to buy accessories. This last visit was due to an issue with my Surface Pen not working properly and Rico, a technician there, was very helpful and understanding of my issue. He resolved the issue quickly and I was out the door in less than 30 minutes.
