I'd give this place zero stars if I could. They replaced my macbook hard drive back in September but then it died after it turned on once. Completely random. Only turned it on once. I needed it for a class so I brought it back and told them the problem and my situation and they told me it would be 100 dollars labor charge to fix the corrupted software they put on it. I feel like they will deliberately do a half assed job repairing your stuff just so they can squeeze more money out of you. I got my laptop fixed by my redneck pothead friend for a couple beers. Guess what? My laptop still works.

I had a very small problem with my iPhone's charging port having lint in it. I took it in and they knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it, and since it was a small fix, it was no charge! I highly recommend Brown Computing Solutions for any problems you have with your phone, tablet, laptop, or computer and I will definitely be back to purchase any accessories I may need for the technology. Just got back from visiting this shop. Oh boy.... We have always gone to Brown’s for service for our computers and have bought tablets and computers from them in order to also help support small business. But this latest experience was unpleasant to say the least. A dark-haired lady who was the only person in the shop was completely dismissive and quite frankly rude when I approached and asked her about possibly servicing an old computer (MacBook) with a ruptured battery. I might as well have told her to wear a dead rat on top of her head is the way she treated me and my wife. She never even offered any suggestions as to what options we might have or even offer to sell us anything from their shop! I don’t know if she was just having a bad day but that really shouldn’t be the customers problem. Small businesses always complain about how difficult it is for them to stay afloat but when they treat customers like this and are not even interested in selling product why should anybody be surprised that they are going out of business left and right. As a result, because of this disrespectful dismissive treatment we will never be visiting this shop ever again. Furthermore, I will tell anybody we know not to go to that shop as long as that dark haired lady is working there.

I have purchased multiple computers from Brown Computer Solutions even though I can buy them online with my educators discount. I think the whole crew is simply awesome. They have fixed my computers and recycled them. Always kind and supportive and they do not condescend. I highly recommend them.

My four year old mac seemed to be possessed - cursor moving randomly, items on my desktop opening up at random, new folders getting created. I took it to Brown Computer (no relation to me) expecting to have to buy a new one. Within minutes a tech person had talked with me, diagnosed the issue - a faulty track pad - and found they had the needed part for replacement at a fair and reasonable price. They worked on it right away, and in about two hours I had my computer back in working order. Thank you! When this old computer does finally go kaput, I'll be back to buy a new one from them.

Awful service. Went for help for a phone issues and said they couldn't fix it because of the damage on the screen and said i need a new phone. But to a different store and they said there was barley an issue and they could fix it for cheap. So kinda pissed that i was told to buy a new phone when all i needed was a new screen

I had a very positive experience. Having just moved to town, everything except for my old Macbook Air was connecting to the new wi-fi. I had spent hours on the phone with multiple techs at the communications provider, not coming to a solution. It was very aggravating. Brown's Computer Service not only was open on Saturday, but the staff member investigated the issue immediately--AND she solved the problem in less than ten minutes! I will be bringing all of my computers to this shop in future, and recommending it to others. Kudos!

Absolutely horrible... I had an appointment with them scheduled by Apple and when I went they were much less helpful than the first day I went. My iPhone 5s has died completely and they told me to call Apple and reset my apple ID and come in and turn off find my iPhone. Went in and didn't even do what they said they were going to do which was update the software through iTunes. Guess you can only go to a real apple store.

Took my broken iPhone in and was told it could not be fixed and that they could order me a replacement phone for $350 that would be available in about three days. Took it to Campus Mobile Repair across from Keene State and they fixed it on the spot for $120. I question Brown's knowledge and/or integrity.

Brought my iPhone in for help with a recovery mode problem that I couldn’t fix by myself. They were willing to help and although they couldn’t fix it they helped me received my new one underwarenty. It came very very quickly and I was happy we figured something out. Very happy with my experience.

Used to do all of our computer business here, not any more. I sent my daughter to drop off my computer to be repaired. She was told by the extremely rude manager that she couldn't do that there was a $100 deposit required. So one would think that I could call with my credit card over the phone, not the case. I called and was told they couldn't do that. Ok-so you have my computer which is worth more then $100, logically you would say "you are a good customer and buy your computers here, we will repair it you can pay when you pick it up". I always try to do business local and support small businesses and always turned people on to them. Very poorly handled on their part and they lost a good customer. I will spread the word. I also run a small business and would never treat customers in this manner. Sorry Browns I will go elsewhere

If I could give zero stars I would. I have a Macbook from 2016 and they have had notorious issues with the keyboard sticking. I contacted Apple and was given the option to drive to the Apple store in Albany or go to Brown's to have it repaired. I dropped off my computer and just over a week later, went to pick it up and didn't look at it until I got home. During the repair my screen had been damaged and two corners of the screen now had large yellow shadows. I called to explain and was told to take it into the store. My husband took it in for me and while waiting the person in store called the owner, Patrick. He said they would not pay for the repair as my computer is no longer under warranty. So they damaged my $1200 computer and then refused to repair it. I was preparing to file a small claims court complaint but I contacted Apple and they have offered to repair it free of charge despite this being Brown's fault. I would recommend that people take the extra time to travel to an official Apple Store.

Since I live in the Bennington, VT area, I decided to support a local business and purchased my new MacBook Pro from Brown Computer Solutions. I also purchased the three-year Apple Care service. Brown offers a 12-month interest-free finance options, which six months less than the on-line Apple Store offers, but I still thought the proximity convenience was worth the higher monthly payments. I was away on an extended trip to Europe for several months, during which I noticed cliches in the computer. When I returned home, about seven months after I purchased the computer and Apple Care option, I took my MacBook to the local Brown store to see what caused the problems and if they could service my MacBook in house. I had a terrible reception from the woman (I believe she is the manager) on duty that morning. She was completely unhelpful and dismissive, gave my problem the minimum possible attention, seemed completely uninterested, and misinformed me about what was covered under Apple Care. The impression I left with was that she simply did not want to take the time and, frankly, wasn't interested in helping me. I finally called Apple support directly and working with one of their associates, who had me reinstall the latest operating system and walked me through a bit of coding, easily solved the problems. Based on this experience I can't justify doing any additional business with Brown Computer Solutions, nor will I recommend them to friends or associates.

What got me in the best way was when the guy said, "welcome back" when he looked up my name and found me in the database as a past customer. If I knew the guy's name, I'd mention it here.

Bought an Apple Watch from here and it had technical issues. I returned the next day to have an associate help me. After he was unable to help me, he directed me to Apple for resolution. For three weeks, I worked (unsuccessfully) with Apple to try to troubleshoot. After one month, the Sr. Technical Adviser that I had been working with called Brown Computer Solutions to recount the ordeal I had been through and to request that I could return the watch. The owner was consulted and denied the refund.

My touchpad failed, the salesman took a look and somehow "discovered" a drop of water on my trackpad that came out of nowhere. I had already consulted with a couple of techie friends about my issue and there had been no evidence of any liquid of any kind. I transported my computer in a laptop bag directly from my techie friend to Brown computer where the liquid somehow magically appeared. They then tried to sell me a $$$$ computer.. SCAMMERS!! My trackpad issue was resolved for under $10 once one other friend was able to help me out.

Too bad I had a bad experience. Yes they were very friendly when buying. Then I had a problem with the screen blacking out and I brought the computer in not knowing (because I was computer illiterate ! ) that all I had to do was press the brightness button . They didn't tell me that either but said it was a quick fix and I could pick it up in the afternoon. So I was charged for that when all they had to do was educate me on the brightness button. Then I had a problem with the plastic chipping which they charged me $40 to replace .. twice it happened. Then I went to a different dealer and they were surprised that I was charged as the apple company replaces it for free knowing it was a faulty design..disappointing.. I don't trust them anymore..

Brought in my computer to get rid of a virus and while they did fix it, they made sure that I knew they thought I was an idiot for getting the virus in the first place. So while I am greatful that they helped me, I haven't been back since and don't plan to just based on the service I received.
