Last year I had an opportunity to experience the quality service Thor Schrock and numerous of his staff at Schrock Innovations provide. I spent a few weeks in Lincoln, Nebraska as a contestant on the Top Affiliate Challenge internet reality show. The technical challenges that arose were complex, and Thor and his crew handled everything promptly and thoroughly. A lot of true technical innovation went into many of the solutions, too! The company also solved a wireless connection issue for my notebook computer. I thought it might cost a lot and was delighted with the affordable solution.

I had Schrock Innovations repair my computer and when I got it back the problems were still there. I planned to NEVER go there again. I was encouraged by someone who had not used Schrocks but had listened to their program on the radio to contact Mr. Schrock in Omaha. I drug my feet not wanting confrontation. I waited until my 30 day warranty was about to expire and finally got the courage to call him. He had left the office for the day and his receptionist sent him an email and told him how dissatisfied I was. He returned my call within a half hour. He was most polite, apologetic and helpful. He worked on my computer remotely moving files from my D hard drive to my C hard drive and set up the D drive as a backup. This was an extra service that had nothing to do with my other problems which he also fixed. My computer runs much faster. I couldn't be happier with the service. I had a question the next day and this time Kevin (also polite and very helpful) worked remotely to fix the glitch. I will recommend Schrock Innovations to anyone who has computer problems. I am so happy that I contacted Mr. Schrock in Omaha.

Computer was done 3 days after I dropped it off, but nobody called to tell me that. I called, D got an answering machine ( during business hours) and nobody returned that call. When I finally got ahold of a person. Found out computer was done. Terrible customer service, and why did I pay for a backup? I assumed I would get a copy of the backup. But I guess not. Will never use them again, it recommend them to anyone. I welcome them to call and explain this to me. My phone number was on the invoice

I own two businesses and while I back everything up, I rely on my laptop DAILY to take care of my clients. When my computer was hacked and I could go no further than to turn it on, Schrock Innovations was the only place that came to mind. Took the computer in, within less than two days, the had the computer fixed, cleaned up, Norton 360 installed and working better than the day I purchased it....without losing any information! I have been using Microsoft Outlook on a PC for years and have found it difficult to give it up! I now have an Apple phone. The two corporations do not make it easy for the two software applications to work with one another, especially if there is an update! Thor worked with me to determine why I could no longer see my calendar on my computer. It had been driving me crazy for about 3 weeks, but he reassured it wasn't anything I did by mistake but the software used by each of the corporations wasn't compatible! There is a warranty on all of the work Thor did for me, and if there is a problem when the software is once again updated, I can depend on Schrock to help me out.

I took my computer in to get the charging port fixed. As soon as I walked in I was treated poorly, as if what I had to say was unimportant. My computer took two weeks to be fixed, during my college finals. Not only did it take an unreasonable amount of time, but it was very expensive. For the extremely small part and little amount of labor, I did not expect it to take so long and cost so much. I would not come back to Schrock Innovations.

This place is horrible, if you bring your laptop in to get something fixed, they’ll end up breaking a part in the process, and then tell you that there’s nothing they can do about it, while still taking your money. How are they so comfortable screwing people over? Avoid this place at all costs and go to professionals.

Absolutely the worst experience and professionalism I have ever experienced in my life! The Omaha location is who I would have to call to get solid customer service and someone who actually acted like they cared about my computer issues. I never received a letter saying that they were going to trash my hard drive with all of my photos from my wedding and family events. It was quite a while since I had dropped it off and I'm certain on my end that I had missed their phone calls. I called today and it had not been a year, I'm certain of it and they trashed my hard drive. I was upset and all they could say was "sorry, there's really not much we can do." NO sympathy or kindness from the Lincoln Location at all. I would NEVER recommend them. The person I spoke with was very uncaring and acted like it was not a big deal or something they cared to deal with. I cannot express enough that you take your computer elsewhere, especially in Lincoln.

I wouldn't recommend Schrock to anyone based upon my personal experience. I was met with very arrogant and poor customer service, when I dropped my new laptop off to have data put on it, it was taken from me by a gentleman that was eating pizza and got his greasy hands all over my new laptop. I can't stress enough about the poor customer service and lack of basic people skills I encountered at Schrock based on my own opinion and personal experience.

Very poor service. My grandmother took a computer in there recently and they lied on fixing it and they put a virus in the computer behind my grandmother's back. And my computer geek friend had to fix it on his own time because a supposed to be a professional place cant do it right. And seeing all these bad reviews I believe that this company is really doing this type of stuff behind customers backs. So I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone just my opinion

I took my old laptop to Schrock in Lincoln, because I couldn’t connect to WiFi— even the option to connect had disappeared. I explained to Christine that I didn’t want to spend much since it might be best to just get a new laptop. She understood and quickly walked me through the steps to get my WiFi connected again—free of charge. It was easy with someone to guide me, though I doubt I could do it again on my own. I’ve been to schrock a few times, and I’ve always been happy with their service. Christine is the best! Thanks, Susan

I will NEVER take any computer back to this company. It took them almost 3 weeks to fix the fan on my parents' laptop. They told us it would only take a few days and kept giving us the runaround when we would ask how much longer it would take. Finally, when it was done, the computer wouldn't hold a charge any longer and is now sitting dead on a coffee table. I thought the whole point of taking your computer to a shop like this was to get all problems fixed, not to have new problems as soon as you got it home.

Will not be using for computer repair ever again. Best advise...STAY AWAY!! Had been a long time customer, (roughly 8 years) for my various home computers over that time frame and had no problems what so ever with service up until this point. Heard an advertisement over the radio for tune-up service at a fair price, so I decided since my computer was roughly a year old I would take it for a check up. Nothing was wrong with my computer to to begin with just to reiterate. After a week of waiting got my computer back, paid for the service, took it home, and upon start up a blank white/black screen was all that appeared. Needless to say I took the computer back, waited a few days then was given the run around about what happened. Since no one really could explain what happened, I got a call from the owner, what a guy right? Wrong, after two heated phone calls and a bogus offer to sell me a new computer at cost around $400-$500 their cost, I got stuck with a useless computer and a distaste for Schrock innovations. The only plus, I got my money back for the service, but lost out in the end having to purchase a new computer. With that, I don't mind if a company screws something up, but at least make an effort to back up your services if something goes wrong. Please take note Schrock Innovations....

The last time I had a computer worked on by Schrock, it took two trips back to finally have my virus problem resolved. I currently have another computer in their shop. It’s been a week and it’s still not done! I have had better service before these last two experiences. I think their service has gone downhill.

Took my laptop in for cleaning. After a week got a call saying hard drive going bad. Three hundred bucks to repair. Said no, of course. 80 dollar part, three screws to remove panel to replace hd. Got computer back today, does not start at all. Oh, worked fine if a little slow when I took it in. This is close to being criminal. And this review is only my first step. This part is written about a week later. Thor called me on his personal phone and asked what he could do to make things better. We worked it out, and while it still cost more than I liked, I now have a working computer with some new parts. Would I go back? Don't ask. Thor Schrock does stand behind his company, though. That part you can take to the bank. Because of Thor's personal touch, I'm changing my review.

I have been a Schrock customer for 13 years. I feel the company is the only place I will take my computer for repair. When my old computer wasn’t worth repairing I decided to purchase a new modular computer from Schrock with XP installed on it. During the years Schrock has maintained the computer with maintenance checks, installed a DVD drive, and now it has been updated it to Windows 7 by John in the Lincoln Service Center. The Modular computer may be old but it is working like a new computer. I keep up to date by listening to Compute This on KFOR on Saturdays and feel with Thor’s help he has made me a smarter user of my computer. Schrock Innovations is number 1 with me.

I took my laptop in to get the screen replaced, after evaluating it the day it was taken in by my wife they said the screen was a common one and it should take a couple days to get it, and it could be installed as soon as it got in. This was Friday, March 29. I did not hear from them by Thursday of the next week, since I live close by I stopped by to see if it was done, they said they didn't have the part yet, fair enough, figured they would get it in a couple days. Called again Tuesday, this would be the 9th, they said they didn't have the part yet, no explanation, I said when I brought it in they said a couple days, and understood that sometimes things get backordered or delayed, but it would be nice if someone would call to let you know when things got delayed. I left town for the rest of the week, got back Sunday, called Monday April 15th, they said the didn't have the part yet, I didn't get an explanation of why other than something about ordering the parts through their Papillion store. I said it would be nice to know why the delay without having to call and ask everytime, and also would be nice to hear from them if there were problems, and could I talk to a manager. The lady on the phone said the owner would be in later and he would call me. No on called me back that day, but the next day, April 16th they called to say it was done. Until those last two days I got the distinct impression that no one at Schrock Innovations knew or cared why my part was delayed, and the only time anyone was checking into anything was when I called. Couple this with the fact that they had my computer AND asked for the full payment for repair and labor up front (wich I normally won't do, but the computer was already in the shop, and I was at work and didn't really have time to argue with them on the phone) this did not leave a good impression of the customer service. When I picked up the computer the only explantion I got was that they were ordering everything through the Papillion store and it wasn't going very well. I am not overly impressed with the level of customer service.

Although my computer was 'fixed' when I brought it to Shrock Innovations, I don't feel I got nearly the great deal they talk about on KFAB. I brought my laptop in to have it cleaned up and all the garbage removed so it would work faster. I was told it would be $80 plus tax. 2 days later, I received a phone call and because there was a virus it would now cost $200 pluss the $80 I had already committed to. They did back off the original $80 but $200 when you are planning on $80 hurts and since they already had my computer taken apart, I could hardly say no. So, does the $80 they adjusted off count as my first hour free? I really hurt when less then a month after Shrock had it the motherboard decided to die. Nice!

Charged 100% over list price; how would you feel about that? I brought my PC in because it didn't start up. It turned out that the boot drive went bad and needed to be replaced. They charged $200 for the 2 TB Western Digital WD20EZRX replacement drive alone. I asked if that is the correct charge and their answer was that this is what they charge their customers. The price for this particular drive at Newegg is $74.99. BestBuy sells it for $83.99. The list price is $99.99. Schrock Innovations charged $200. How would you call that? Unfortunately Schrock Innovations' customer service was even more of a letdown. Fortunately there are alternatives.

The Lincoln shop provided us with good service on recovering data from a dying hard drive, although some of the file arrangement was altered. They also built us a new deskop that we think was very reasonable pricewise for the final machine. The only glitch I have noticed (and I haven't let them know) is the scanner USB cord has to be moved from one port to another for the box to see it. I wish I had paid for the Windows 7 downgrade. (That isn't Schrock's problem)
