Dan at TechWorks is a special kind of superhero in IT knowledge and being human. I've dealt with many tech support companies, large and small for personal and professional equipment and projects. Dan is thorough, kind, patient, communicative, totally honest --- and his fees are completely reasonable. I doubt you can find better service anywhere. I trust him implicitly with all of our equipment. When one of our computers reached the end of its useful life, Dan rebuilt it and donated it to a local non-profit of do-gooders. I was passing through Missoula and my laptop was not working properly so I went in to have it looked at and possibly get it repaired. Dan was there and got on it right away. Dan was proffesional, courteous and very knowledgeable. He even invited me back to the service room to watch him take my laptop apart. He explained to me what he was doing and why he was doing each step. He answered every question I had and treated me as a valued customer with respect and dignity. That goes along way in my book. Dan was able to diagnose the problem , fix it and have me on my way in short order and a reasonable price. I took my PC in to Dan recently after being told by the Geek Squad that they wouldn’t be able to help me because the problem was with my files. After attempting to back up my photos I could only access a few of the 12,000+ and also most of the many tags I had them organized under were missing and what ones were there were in disarray. Dan was able to retrieve all of the missing photos and all the tags and everything was back where it was supposed to be. He did all this in the time promised and at the price quoted even though it was a lot more time consuming than he had anticipated. I’m happy to recommend Dan for your computer problems.

On two separate occasions, TechWorks killed it. I use my computer 50 hours per week for research and writing. When I had a broken screen, their staff fixed it quickly, and inexpensively. When I had random junk blocking the fan, causing a laptop to overheat, they took apart the computer, cleaned it, removed the junk, and put it back together while I watched. Use their services.

Met with Dan on a Thursday afternoon with a 7 yo custom built computer that was shutting itself down and finally failing to start at all. Dan did a quick diagnostic, asked about my primary computer usage and detailed the 3 possible causes affecting the computer in order of probability. we discussed replacement parts and upgrades and ball parked the final cost of repair. Said he would run a full diagnostic scan, research parts and contact me on the following Tuesday. By the noon the following day he had diagnosed the primary issue, found in his spare parts a graphics card with only about two weeks of run time on it and a huge upgrade for the computer. He offered a nice warranty for the used item. we discussed what would likely fail on this old computer down the road and parts and upgrades that would be needed. Total cost was under original expectations and Dan guessed that my current monitor and power supply cord would not be compatible with the "new" powerful graphics card installed. He then provided me with a loaner monitor and cord. Boy, am I glad he asked those questions. My old monitor has been re-purposed and a new one ordered. Thanks Dan for your expertise, more then fair customer service, quick work and taking the time to explain to this non-techie how to get years more service out of this computer system. Dude, your golden!
