Had a 7:50 apt. I wasn't thought about until after 8:30. *Update* Diamond FIXED EVERYTHING! She covered my cracked screen fee and was very courteous and worked very hard to get me out as soon as possible! It brought me down to reality to because she's probably the one that "catches" it the most from angry customers. While the ones that don't do anything and slack off hanging out in the back don't get in any trouble. While I was there I observed her help AT LEAST three people. Meanwhile 90% of the other employees weren't doing or helping anyone. The store is improperly managed. They need more employees like Diamond. I updated my rating to 5 stars solely because of my interaction with Diamond!

iPhone 7 is apparently not a good phone. That is on me. 3 phones in 8 days because of these phone malfunctions. I worked with Kristin the first time and Lilly the 2nd time.... two of the nicest people I have ever worked with at apple stores. Wait times were over 1 hour each time. Product and wait was low - the people I worked with was exceptional. Apple support by phone was 6 hours of wasted time. In the end things are working well. Very thankful for the help I received.

Brian Butler

When you make an appointment for 1:30pm it could mean 2pm it could be 2:30pm even later who knows. I'm spending my Saturday afternoon here as we speak so I'll keep you updated.

Haylie Roedel

I was at the apple store getting a new phone last Friday. This was my first iPhone and I had a few questions setting it up. The sales guy was not very friendly to start with but then I worked with a woman named Allie, who helped set everything up. She was helping multiple people at once and was doing a great job. She was wonderful customer service and I hope she is recognized for this!

Had to repair my computer, it was really emotional and they were very caring and thorough with fixing it. Particularly Michael spent all this time with me to make sure we prepared my computer properly before repair. And more. Thank you Michael with the blonde pony tail.

Josh Pronschinske

Patty and Linda are the absolute best! They are an essential asset to this company because you can't beat genuine, caring service and that's what they provide! Anyone who has questions regarding apple products should definitely go to them. All of the staff is extremely friendly, but I ALWAYS request Patty and Linda! See you guys soon to order my iPhone 7!!

Ben Adams

Had a battery looked at to get replaced they said it still was ok and to wait to get a new one.

Jessica Stearns

Came in at 6pm without an appointment so I understand the hour wait. The greeter got me set up at a table and scheduled me with an appointment for 7pm. It’s 7:23 right now and I have still not been helped. Hopefully the wait isn’t for nothing and they can actually help me.

Joey Diderrich

This is an Apple Store for sure. It is clean and the staff is helpful. The mall helps make me wish I could give it a half star more. I highly recommend this location to Mall of America. It is simply due to the fact you can shop much more easily.

I went store to repair my mom iPad, told 2 hours waiting. Sleeping in my car, texted wake me up. Waiting 10 minuets for tech. Kirsten apple tech said sorry for waiting. Great approached. She fixed my mom’s iPad in 10 minuets. Thanks Kirsten.

Herbert Zaldana

Nice friendly and very proffesional service

Eric Thomas

Stand in a line. Give your name. Wait 40-60 minutes. Stand in line again once they text you. Wait at the 'Genius Bar' for an additional 5 -6 minutes just to have them tell you that it'll be $575 to repair your MacBook that suddenly stopped charging. The wait time and the price quote didn't really bother or surprise me. What really bothered me was that at any point during this time, half of the staff was just standing around. Mostly chatting. I asked one of them "I just have a question quick. I'm not looking to get anything done today". He replied "I'm on the sale side of things."...."oh"... I'm giving them two stars cuz this store is pretty. But that's all really Apple is these days. Super pretty. Like that cute girl at the office that you finally got to date but you found out later she doesn't cook, clean, tell jokes, conversate or really care about you in any way but it doesn't really matter because she's always the hottest girl in the room so I'm going to keep throwing money at her. Hoping she'll change someday.

Staff was a little overly aggressive on trying to be helpful. Let me look

I bought a computer there and it was without a doubt the easiest and quickest computer buying experiences I have ever had. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly staff! I was kind of worried because they have so many bad reviews on this page but I was pleasantly surprised to learn my worries were unfounded. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I went here in April after my phone kicked me out of iCloud and wouldn't let me back in through settings even though I could log in on Safari on the same phone. I wasted 2 hours of my life here and when the "Genius" came to "assist" me, he didn't speak English, didn't listen to ANYTHING I said at all. He told me my problem was storage. I had 52 GB of AVAILABLE storage on my iPhone so I don't think that was the problem. My iPhone still doesn't work and I don't have the money to buy a new one. Every time I go into that store it's a disappointment. I've had maybe 1 good experience in there and that was when my mom was getting help with her phone. So about 10% success rate on getting actual help in there. Basically my advice is to go to the Uptown, Ridgedale or Mall of America location. Don't waste your time here

Nathan Sturre

Got the help i needed after I tract someone down. They weren't busy but everyone that wasn't helping someone was talking to each other and ignored me until i finally walked over to them and asked for help. Then they put me in the system and had a person call me while I was there. Backwards. Then the guy who was on the phone with, hung up on me when we were half way through so i had to have them put me in the system again and have them call me again and start all over again. Lisa the 2nd person to call was terrific. You should get more like her.

Macari2

Love this place!!

Clara Coyle

Yo I got the best customer experience, guy was super nice and efficient and I know all these other people say this place sucks but IT DOESN'T you gotta understand that these people work in RETAIL and they mostly deal with old ladies who don't know how to open the box that contains the phone. U gotta be patient and nice they're people too. I'm out

Casey O'Neill

Always receive prompt and knowledgeable customer service.

Salvador Morales

I’m sorry for posting this but, you guys made a mess with my iPhone and I lose a lot of my stuff and at the end, they gave me a new phone cuz my old phone it wasnt turning on back I came in just to replace my iPhone screen The explanation was, you can’t get your old phone back Weird??? They keep it

Daniel Picard

The layout of the store is nice and everything is orderly and clean. The service was inconsistent and rather poor considering how many people were working and the fact that we had an appointment beforehand. This appointment boiled down to a reformatting of the hard drive, but the rep kept walking away from us and didn't come back for minutes at a time... By the end, he didn't even come back to us at all and another employee altogether had to ask if we needed anything else before leaving. It was a textbook example of what not to do for a customer service interaction.

Mitchell Wildermuth

Set an appointment for a new battery. I checked in and was directed to a table where I waited for an hour and a half for a tech to come and talk to me. The woman waiting with me at the table had been there for 2 hours without service and I overheard another woman saying that she had been there for FOUR HOURS without any assistance on her broken laptop and they actually had the nerve to tell her while I was sitting there that it would be another TWO HOURS for it to be repaired. I had to walk out of the store to pick my son up from daycare without even being approached for help. Now, it turns out that even if I had been helped that the batteries are in short supply so they need to be ordered to the store and I wouldn't have gotten it replaced that day anyway. If someone would have told me that up front I could have prevented wasting over an hour of my life inside the store.

Alankrutha Dandamudi

Had to wait but good service

Jakob Robinson

Apple website listed this as the only location in the Twin Cities with an opening for the Genius Bar today, so I made an appointment and made the 30+ minute drive only to be told that my reservation had been moved to another day, and I could either come back later in the week (on a day I was not available) or wait an hour to try to get a walk in slot. Also got the run around from two different employees before finding this out. worst service I've experienced at an Apple store, and a terrible location. I won't be going back to this store.

Patrick Gruggen

Booked a genius appointment at 7:15 and when I booked I left a note saying I would like to have my battery replaced and gave my phone specifications so I could come in and get it done in one trip. I showed up at 7:10 and they did not assist me until 8:20. At this point the 'genius' was very condescending and told me I had to wait until they ordered a battery and then they would call me, rendering my trip a waste of over an hour with no results.

Ann Kieffer

Wonderful, professional and friendly service today when I took my iPhone into Southdale store. Problems were resolved quickly, yet the sales person took time to show me and explain what he was doing as we went along. I plan on upgrading phones soon, and definitely will return here. Thank you!Ann

Zeke Domowski

The products here are subpar to Samsung devices. Apple pay only works at a select number of stores versus Samsung pay works almost everywhere.

paula rosemark

Kirsten was a great help! She was very professional and patient with my situation concerning my phone. She and the management went above and beyond to fix my phone. Thank you! Paula Rosemark

Becky Anderson

When going to the store, first make sure you have an appointment. I recommend you ask for a woman named Diamond at the Apple Southdale Store. She was fabulous. Great customer service and attention to detail. Absolutely left us with a positive impact.

Nathan W

Long waiting for anything. Tried to buy a 5SE. 3+ people welcoming you to the store and telling you to stand in different places. Employees that can do things hang out in back and peak out from time to time. Had to return an Apple TV and exact same problem.

Kit Shelton

I made an appointment for the Genius Bar online for a simple cracked screen repair on an iPhone 6. I showed up 10 minutes early, and after waiting 5 minutes to get through the line to one of the employees checking people in, was told to sit at the bar with no indication there would be a wait. 30 minutes later with no communication, I had to leave for a meeting. I assumed that with an appointment my 5 minute fix would be completed with time to spare.

Gurinder Sundal

Clean, well laid out mall. The mall seems to be suffering the fate of other malls as there are lots of closed stores.

SHEILA DRESSEN

Good

Sunil Yerramsetty

Great staff, of course a tech stop

If you call be ready to be on hold for 45 min and then have no answer then show up to schedule an appointment then be told to call and schedule one. The workers seem to be more interested in their own conversations then helping anyone. Overall very disappointed with my experience and the lack of care to help. With Apple having more and more problems and lack of customer support I really think this is the last straw for ,e and buying apple products.

Holly Reiland

This location does not stick to timelines. I waited over an hour past my appointment time while employees stood around in other parts of the store. The employee that supposedly checked me in actually cancelled my appointment and when re-added to the list, I was tacked on to the end.

Jake Aden

Walked into this store on a Sunday morning when there were very few people in the store, wanting to try on an Apple Watch and fully prepared to buy a $400+ watch, and was told I had to wait for a sales person to help me. I said OK and stood by the watch section for over 10 minutes waiting for someone to come help me, but no one ever came. During these 10 minutes I waited, other customers came in and were immediately helped by one of the 6-7 Apple workers that were standing around talking to each other less than 10 feet from me. At this point I walked out of the store, completely discouraged from ever buying an Apple Watch.

Solomon Yifroo

I have never seen such kind of extremely poor knowledge, customer service in my life. Especially if you are color any one not welling to help you even if after waiting several time no body pay attention about your question and they are doing what they know that means delet all documents, pictures and all application then restored as a new phone. To restore the phone not necessary to go Apple Store we can do at home. Really shame of you guys. The so called technicians have deleted all my documents with out my interest . Even to backup from iCloud they don't gave me a chance. Generally I haven't words to express their supper extrem weakness in all angle.I have been using Apple product for log time and I like the products but if some problem happen any one of Apple technicians never solve or fix the problems.I would like to use YouTube or google to solve any trouble shooting in simple way or go to any local technicians helping you . I don't recommend for any one to see Apple technicians especially in southdale Apple Store.

Pain Arian

I had an amazing experience best service i got screwed by a fake company repairing apple phones and they understood and helped me out

Sarah Johnson

Extremely friendhelpful and knowledgeable staff. Tofer (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and jimmy are wonderful!

Jacob Wolf

One of the people who worked at the Genius Bar, Brendan (or maybe Brenden?), went over and above in his assistance to me. He moved some time-sensitive information from my malfunctioning laptop to an external hard drive. And he did it complimentary and quickly. He didn't have to do this, so I'm writing this note in appreciation.

Jessica Rehm

If you feel like wasting your time then definitely go here. Went to get a new battery but of course they don’t have them so they have to submit a repair order and will notify you when it’s in. The girl took my phone back to open it and said the battery was completely shot so they’d place the order. Great! Waited 3 weeks for it to come in and go back to the store to drop off my phone. They say to come back in 3 hours! 3 hours - what a joke. But I do, because what choice do I have. I show up to pick it up and have to wait almost 30 min for them to bring my phone out. When they finally do the girl tells me there was a little bit of water damage so they didn’t replace the battery, but can for the full price of repair. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I wasted my entire day driving to and from your damn store to be told I couldn’t get the repair even though the girl who diagnosed it didn’t see anything wrong with the phone. Obviously our time means nothing to these people. Joke of a store with a joke customer service.

sanjith abraham

Had to wait for an hour to get charging cable replaced by 'genius'. Book your reservation before visiting this place otherwise wait .. And keep waiting .. Your choice

I paid over $500.00 for a smart watch 3 in December 2017. I was sitting at home when all of a sudden it started vibrating and the face feel off. They told me that the reason why this happened was unknown however they refused to give me a new watch because the warranty was up. I felt so dumb and wasted my time going to this store for help. will never ever buy another Apple Smart watch again as they self distruct after 12 months. Even the Apple Care only lasts 2 years.

I am a successful Business owner/professional that just purchased and Apple MacBook Pro a couple of months ago but didn't have a chance to use it too much yet because the switch over from my PC was going to take too much time and I just didn't get it done. My Mac went into a deep sleep, I brought it into Apple in Southdale. The Apple rep and I looked at it then after some messing around got it to start coming on a little bit but just to be "safe" I decided to leave it for the "Genius" crew to take a look. The next call that I received was from a "Genius" member telling me that there is water damage and it's going to be a $755 flat fee to get it sent out and fixed. I was furious because there is no way that liquid got to that computer for one but I figured I would have them do it because the money won't kill me and see what they do. Well, once I agreed to the $755 send out the computer was done the available the next day(seems way too fast). I got the computer back today, they said that they gave me a new hard drive and several other parts and after checking out my computer, I see that nothing was done at all but it just works again. I am saying that it feels like I was scammed, I will never trust my business with the Apple store again and I suggest you use an alternate source for working on your computer. The "Genius" department over there has failed me multiple times in a short time and if you time is worth money like mine is, I wouldn't risk your money. If I was somebody that couldn't afford that $755, I would have been screwed I feel sorry for the people who these guys screw over. BE AWARE, this was bad!

John Schultz

They were not able to help me find out what my old IPad was worth on a trade in I went online and found out they were not willing to help but that is the ways apple has been going they Only want to help new customers Thinking of getting rid of my IPad IPhone and computer and finding a company that rid customer oriented

Foley Files

Believe it or not, this was my first ever visit to an Apple Store. My phone was a little sluggish, went it, they ran some tests, opted for a simple new battery. Presto, lag solved. Everyone was great despite it being very busy. Top notch service all around. I interacted with 7 different employees throughout the process, all of them were wonderful!

Adalpe Apé Leal

The wait time could of been a little faster. Just saying!

Asher Chaudhry

Not very well mannered staff. Wait time is very long even with an appointment.

Jim Hofer

Always a oleasure

Pandemilk

Apple Southdale is wayyyy better than The Mall of America Apple store. These guys actually cared about doing the right thing for a customer who was having serious repeat issues with their devices.

Hailey Cadigan

The employees are very very nice and wasted no time in helping me out and answering all my question. What i absolutely HATE about this store is the false information they gave me throughout the 5 hours I was there. I went in one week and asked all my questions about financing through apple and upgrading my phone and all of my questions were answered. But when I came in a week later to go through with the upgrade and re-ask the same questions I was told the complete opposite. I then upgraded my phone still (now I know it was stupid of me) and I was told I’d be able to send my old phone back to my service carrier so I would no longer have payments on that phone. When I got home later that day and called my carrier they told me this wasn’t true and now I am stuck paying for two phones, one of which I don’t use. So I don’t recommend upgrading your phone through this apple store because nobody seems to know what’s right or get their facts straight.

rahul peddi

Not so friendly staff, when compared to my experiences with other apple stores.

_ _

I don't care for their products, but what amazing service.

Shirley Haugen

Very disappointed with the Genius Bar help today. I went with a friend to get a battery replaced on her phone. They were unable to do it, told her the phone was broken not the battery. Next went to cell phone repair, they replaced the battery and the phone was fixed and works great, Made me doubt the integrity of apple repair, they wanted to sell a new phone rather then simply replacing the battery. I expected more from Apple

TeaTime

I made an appointment, arrived at the stated time, and was shown where to stand in line. I actually was in the wrong spot and one of the employees kindly let me go to the front of the line since I had been there the longest. I was directed to sit at a table to wait for a technician. I went to the table and stood there for a short time, not more than 10 minutes, and someone came over and quickly solved my IPhone issue. I was done in a short amount of time with a new (reconditioned) phone to replace the old one that had a bulging battery. I did not like having to wait a long time on hold to make the appointment. If it had not been for that, I would have given 5 stars. Just kind of odd not to be able to just call the actual store. But all in all, not a bad experience all the way around.

Martin Chorzempa

When the wait is long, they need a way to have you come back when they are ready. Told me I would need to stand around in one spot of the store without even a bathroom break for 45 minutes if I wanted the privilege of paying them $1k for a phone. Unacceptable.

Vi Mo

Great place to shop

A. Hansen

Very busy. Had an appointment and still waited 15 minutes for service to be have the technician do all the steps I had already done and then tell me that I would need to buy a new device.

Sibby dassan

LOVE THIS LOCATION! The staff is friendly and willing to help with any problems you have. I have been here for numerous apple products and repairs, never once been disappointed! Highly recommend visiting this location

Taylor Emry

Amazing experience!! I walked in assuming the only solution to my computer’s issues would be to purchase a new one. (Sam?) worked his magic and my 7 year old Mac is working better then ever. He went above and beyond to ensure I had a working machine. As a college student with multiple projects to salvage and a tight budget, I am so grateful for his help!

Jaci Baker

So frustrating! Too long to describe but by the time I was done she just disappeared and left us sitting there waiting for my old phone (didnt realize they kept them) no thank you or goodbye, had to find her to see if we were done! Unsatisfying response to my questions

Reagan G

So frustrated. I need to keep track of my expenses for work, but my emailed receipt didn't include taxes. I've been on the phone now for 30 minutes and counting trying to get a copy showing what I actually paid for. Such a simple process they screwed up

Kari Hansen

Waited for 20 minutes to buy a computer with employees seemingly sitting around. Not impressed. Walked out. They need a better system to organize & communicate the waiting.

Ryan Lawson

Bought a pair of Air Pods on the premise that if they were lost or stolen I could track them down. They get stolen and Apple refuses to do anything even though they can see that the serial number that belongs to me is tied to someone else's phone and now I cannot track them.. excellent customer service. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars here and will never buy Apple again.

magneilia vaughn

I WAS JUST GOING BECAUSE I NEEDED A LAPTOP BUT IT TOOK TOO LONG TO GET HELP . PEOPLE WAS GETTING HELP BEFORE ME THAT CAME IN AFTER. I TOLD THE ASSOCIATE I NEED HELP AND HE SAID I’LL BE WITH U IN A FEW MINUTES AND KEPT TALKING TO HIS COWORKER BOUT NONSENSE.AS WE STARTED WALKING OUT THE STORE THAN HE APOLOGIZED N ASKED WHAT I NEED HELP WITH . I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER .

Paul Leintz

Very helpful

Jen Dolen

Phone system is annoying. I tried calling to inquire after product availability and service (phone battery replacement), and couldn't get through. This should take seconds for a service rep to answer, but the phone system + hold time for a rep lasted a full five minutes without an answer, either automated or human. After five minutes I hung up.

Dean Peter

Apple is putting you on hold to make an appointment We have more then 5000 in Apple products and I will never buy one again People at the store are rude waiting times are extremely long(2 plus hours)

suresh m

I made an online reservation but still had to wait like others who walked in. Not sure what's the purpose of making an online reservation. I had to wait wait wait and wait and no one responded properly. Poor customer service.

D. Atkins

Service here is always exceptional.

Alexander McGruder

Clean store. Well laid out. Helpful staff

Brandon Hoffman

I am an apple guy through and through but after waiting 10 days for them to figure out whats wrong with my mac pro and still not having it fixed or even diagnosed. This store is HORRIBLE!!!!! RUN NOW!!!!! Where is the 0 out of 5 star rating?

Charles Jacobson

I always like this store wait times aren't as usually as long as some others good customer service

Blake Zastrow

Always helpful

Cottage Grove Matron

Sweet daughter took me out for a holiday meal and boy was that play a buzzin'! Just grab what parking place you can find no matter where.

Carissa Olson

I am very disappointed in my experience this evening in trying to get my current air pods replaced after not working for the last month. David was dismissive and unprofessional in regards to my concerns in only replacing the case vs the case and air pod that has not worked for the last week. My expectation after spending $175 less than 3 months ago on these air pods would be that my concerns would be addressed and not dismissed. It was only after several minutes of expressing these concerns on only replacing the case that David rudely agreed to replace both. Needless to say I will no longer be frequenting this store. So very disappointed.

Hales

Place is always packed so the service takes the plunder. However, staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I have bought my MacBook Pro and my IPad 2 from here. Both of have been great experiences even with a small wait

J. Alm

This store is the worst. I’m literally trying to spend thousands of dollars and I have to wait 45 minutes? I was told 15 minutes and am going on an hour now.

Shaunny

Ooh okay so I just sit on this beanbag and wait to be called? I'm glad they explain so patiently how they are going to rip me off and why they have to replace a bunch of parts in my MacBook that are completely fine!

Adam Jorgenson

I hate this place. A bunch of non technical people selling tech.

Angel Philipp

Very good and 3hr wait for 20 minute fix. We did not make appt.

tess weinberg

I brought in my 5 year old MacBook Pro. It had been running really slowly, shutting down, freezing up, etc. I was thinking that I need both a new battery and a new hard drive. After about an hour of sitting down a very nice, very HELPFUL and informative man (named Charlie), my laptop was running like it hadn't in years. He was so helpful even though it was late on a Saturday night. The problem had something to do with some third party software or something but nonetheless, it is now fixed! Thank you thank you thank.

Roz Peterson

Honesty the amount of money that Apple makes and yet it takes hours to get help at their 3 locations in the entire state of Minnesota. If you want to make an appointment it takes several days to get in. You are clearly not keeping up with demand. Open more locations. This stinks.

Mire Mohamed

Not an apple fan but pretty decent place to visit

Betsy Weiner

This was a ridiculous experience at the store. As a longtime Apple customer I would like to feel like I am valued, and at this store, I certainly was not. Aaron and Seth were helpful. Other than those two gentlemen, one of the most pathetic customer service experiences that I have ever had. Oh well. Will definitely never patronize that store again.

Ravi Amara

Went to the same Apple store several times for the reception issues of my iPhone 8 plus. Every time they said, problem is with the lint. Only after the warranty expired, problem became the receiver & need to replace my phone for $$. Couple of suggestions: 1) Make sure your visit is logged. My visits are never logged as this is a simple lint issue. 2) Make sure they are actually troubleshooting the phone rather than assuming the culprit.

John Anderson

Bought a new Mac Air. Store is transferring data from old Mac to new. Was told this would be done in 48 hours. After 48 hours I called for an update. Was put on hold. After 35 minutes I gave up. Terrible customer service!

Mitchell Wall

What a joke. Mail the phone in for 2 weeks to get a new battery, or order a new battery wait 5 weeks or go to the Best Buy Geek Squad....all because of your update!!!! Mind you that it is impossible to get anyone on the phone in the store. Horrible customer service. Almost enough to push a life long apple user to android "almost"

K Fisher

Had to make a couple appointments as first person unable to help

Jonathon P

Nice staff, but the genius bar reservations are pointless. Takes 20-30 minutes after your reserved time to be seen. It seems to be an issue at all Apple stores.

Lynne Silva-Breen

Thanks to Steve who helped me figure out my aging 2010 MacBook Pro needs a new battery but otherwise is still a great laptop :)

Tejas Thatte

Bad. They damaged my phone. I went to this store (after a wait time of 7 days finally I got the appointment), my iPhone's microphone was not working. They made me sit and wait for another 30 mins and finally somebody arrived and took my handset inside and made me sit for another 30 mins, finally the person came out, telling me, I will have to replace the whole screen which will cost me around $250. I denied & came out. Later that day, I realized they have pulled out the screen guard on my iPhone's screen and did not inform me. I had bought in that high quality screen guard from Amazon, but the Apple guys did not even care to tell me and be honest, that they have taken out that screen guard. I could not go back to the store as I had a flight to catch the next day. After my return, I went to a local phone repair shop, and they replaced just the microphone piece of the phone for merely $49. I am totally unhappy with the disgusting service they have provided and the damage they caused to my phone. Strictly No going back again. I suggest everybody to do the same if you want to safe guard your apple device.

Nancy Aguilar Gonzalez

Great customer service!

christine VanBrocklin

I worked with a wonderful woman named "Bee" with pink hair and rainbow socks! She was so lovely and extremely knowledgeable about apple products!! I want to come back just to see her!

Elizabeth Swenson

I never visited there.

Lexi W

Worst customer service apple store I have ever been to, not that apple has great customer service anyway but this was terrible. They are not sympathetic at all. They replaced my phone with another broken phone and won't help me again.

Isabel Pastoor

I'm writing this on my broken computer right now, which was not fixed due to the literally incomprehensible incompetence of every single employee at this Apple Store location. At about 4:30 pm today (Thursday, May 10th), I walked into this store with my MacBook to get a repair. A technician took down my information--name, phone number, email address, and the issues with my laptop--and told me that I would receive a text message or call within 1.5-2 hours when a technician was ready to see me. I went home and waited. And waited. And waited. Around 7:00 I started to get suspicious, because it had been 2.5 hours since I was in the store. At 7:55 pm I started to call the Apple Store Southdale. When I called, a robot answered and asked what the issue was. I was told by this robot I'd be transferred to a technician. The phone rang...and rang. And rang. After several minutes of ringing, the phone went to busy. I tried this again and again. I tried asking to speak to a manager. I tried asking for an update about my service appointment. I tried to make a new service appointment. I tried to speak with a representative. This same issue happened over and over again. My mother at a certain point tried calling and FINALLY got on the phone with a human being. She explained the issue to the employee. He said he would check up on that and be right back with us. We sat on hold for 18 minutes. A DIFFERENT employee then picked up the phone and had absolutely no idea what was going on or why we were on hold. He said he was the manager. I explained to him what had happened, and he addressed me in the most condescending, patronizing manner possible. I asked why his employee had simply left us on the line and did not get back to us. He did not tell me. He asked me when I could come in tomorrow for a repair. How ridiculous! This "manager" expects me to, after waiting at home for four hours and then calling and waiting on hold at least ten times without receiving a response, to come back to his awful excuse for a store and pay a ridiculous fee to POSSIBLY have my computer fixed. Who's to say I wouldn't have gone back in, been sent home, and waited for four more hours and never receive any response? This manager claims that the "automated system" did in fact contact me for my appointment, but I never received any contact from them for the whole night, and can prove it with my phone records. This is the worst customer service I have EVER received in my entire life. I work in healthcare customer service and speak with dozens to hundreds of patients every day. I remember them by name. I treat them with respect. I would never treat them the way I was treated today and cannot imagine that any professional company would approve of such awful, rude, incompetent, and simply purely IDIOTIC behavior from its so-called "management."

Catherine Malmin

Very rude! I went in because my iPhone wouldn't charge. I told them I bought it off of Craigslist and I was immediately treated poorly. They said my phone had been "tampered with" and that it wasn't an iPhone plug in. That's not true. I asked if it could just be that I needed a new cord. They said no but I could come back in 2 hours for an appointment. I left, went to Verizon and got a new a cord. Works great. This was 4 weeks ago. They are very pretentious.

Nate Maas

Wow. Terrible. On hold for 15 minuets to ask if they have one of my batteries at their location. Not once did a person talk to me. Just a horrible experience. I could have driven there and asked someone quicker.

Thomas Tully

Over 40 large tables of displays, enormous selections! All things Apple!

Zilly 1999

90% of the employees are goofing off with other employees and their one on one help is not a priority to them. Also, instead of doing their job I saw two employees playing a 2 player game on their phones.

Scott Cotterell

Still seems strange that you can go in and buy something on your phone and just walk out.

Jack Reagan

Logitech key board broke and wouldn't hold the new Air I Pad. Both were purchased less than a month ago. I returned the broken one and was happy to see that the store replaced it with new. No complaints here!

Tenzin Kalden

Tried to do a battery change for my iphone 6. The wait was too long and they seem to have a convenient excuse everytime I visit them. My headphone jack stopped working after they replaced my battery. When i tried to see what they could do to fix the problem they did nothing. Its just not worth all the trouble for a battery. Please don't waste your time here.

Dylan Casteel

Worst experience I've ever had at an apple store. This visit almost had me considering switching to other products and brands. The manager Garrett and sales associate Chris were so rude that it almost brought me to tears. All I wanted to do was start new service with Verizon and Chris the associate told me that since my DL address didn't match the address on my credit report they wouldn't be able to start service, when I tried explaining the manager Garrett raised his voice towards me and become very irate. So I said whatever and told them to use the address on my DL (I was already approved for service through Verizon using my secondary address not on my DL). They do the application with my DL address, and it was denied. I politely asked if we could call Verizon since I was already approved through Verizon directly. The manager once again raised his voice and said "It doesn't matter what Verizon says to you, it matters what our system says, we are not going to call them." At this point, there's literally several people staring at him because of how loud and argumentative he was being towards me. Embarrassing! The only reason I had to come to this store in the first place is because Apple sold me an "unlocked" iPhone 11 Pro Max, which believe it or not was not compatible with Verizons network. So I was trying to exchange it for one that is Verizon compatible. After being belittled and attacked by the employees I left with my phone that wasn't compatible with Verizon. I ended up going straight to Verizon, who, that's right, themselves said that my addresses in fact do NOT need to match. They had me set up with a new iPhone 11 Pro Max with no approval issues or anything. I ended up returning my iPhone 11 Pro Max to Apple and purchasing it directly from Verizon. I returned it to the MOA location. My advise, go to Ridgedale or MOA, unless you enjoy being treated awfully by employees. Definitely not the experience I expect from Apple.

Kevin Unterreiner

Great experience when purchasing or getting service. Book service appointments with genius online.

Joani Nelson

please answer your phone

Chelsea Mielke

The worst communication you will ever receive. Dropped my computer off Saturday, said it would take 3-5 days, Thursday rolls around and still haven’t heard anything. Go into the store (by it’s impossible to get someone on the phone) and they tell me oops sorry no one called you, had to order another part so another 3-5 days. The lack of communication is embarrassing.

C A

I am please to say the staff here are amazing and it was easy to communicate with the team members and getting my issue resolved.

Aleah Kraft

I went in pretty early and there were 5 or more sales techs standing with no costumers. No one approached me. I approached two that were chatting, they both looked at me like I was ruining their social time. I inquired about a battery replacement. One turned on his heels and walked away swiftly. The other barely greeted me with kindness. And told me what they would do along with how long the wait would be (which was fine) but his wording had a very passive aggressive undertone as if he was trying to get me to decide to forget about it all together. Won’t be back there. I actually felt like a burden.

Carlton Abbaa

Clean, nice and organized

Tommy Kinsman

Very long wait times for Genius Bar despite being dead

Prabhakar Das

Good selection of apple products although they should advertise the discounted goods as well

J Cwa

Just another store

Lori Jewett

Quick and easy service

Ed Erickson

Short wait time as promised, tech was very helpful

Corwin Morton

Had to get $1100 card

g ashland

Can’t even get through by phone. Automated, then a call center, then on hold for 19 minutes before I hung up.

Luke Stoker

Technology has failed this location. Watch out for being placed on a "flex time" appointment. I am writing this three hours into my 45 minute wait. Inquiring 3 times as to the remaining length of my wait I was told the first time that It could be longer and the next two times that we are next in line. Every time they look on their tablet and say " I don't know what happened but I will make sure you are highlighted and next" the check in staff is rude and never give a straight or direct answer. Being an owner of over 20k in Apple products this is the worst experience and store to date. I would have done everything online and waited days over dealing with this pitiful experience.

Greenwood Zumbro

We got good and prompt help. Very satisfied

Taylor Lee

super super long hours

Shai Leibovich

Just disappointing. The idea that I spent $1000 on an iPhone just to have it break after 13 months is ridiculous. not only that, but it’s outrageous that apple won’t fix their own broken product. They wanted $540 to fix ONE PIECE that broke on its own. My situation was only exacerbated by the poor service at the store. I was blatantly ignored for 25 minutes after initially being greeted. The lady that came over to “help” me understand my dilemma, which revolves around an absurdly short parts warranty, was snappy and rude. I am disappointed in apple and appalled by this stores customer service.

Mike Johnson

Me and my girlfriend have been dealing with icloud problems for over a month being locked out of it. After countless store visits and calls to tech support comming up with nothing to help us solve our problems we went into apple today and molly punderson was incredibly helpfull. We got all our problems solved, thank you so much molly.

Alli Xi

Waited 30 minutes at the Genius Bar and the dude with the long hair said I was gonna be next. But, I was skipped the whole time. Long story short, don’t waste your time here. All the other employees were just standing there just chit chatting. Never coming back again.

Kelly Fager

Honest staff

Nicole Denault

very fast!

Jane May

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience at The Apple Store at Southdale in Edina, MN. Every single person I encountered was very friendly and professional. I had to wait a little longer than initially told, but how can you predict exactly how long each repair will take. Communication was ongoing, so I was constantly informed with updates. When I was being helped by a technician, another customer approached my technician to ask when she would be helped. He was patient with her and answered all her questions. She wanted immediate attention, but I told her it was worth the wait. I think she stayed. Let's face it. Technical problems with our devices is very troubling. We feel helpless. But the professionals here make you feel important and "not stupid". That was a big win for me. Awesome job!

Nathan Fryzek

Decent service, but I had to wait over two hours past my appointment time to see a support person, and some of the workers aren’t very nice, although most are.

Caroline Bayard

After a ton of trouble trying to figure out why my phone wouldn't charge, an incredibly smart and helpful man named Charlie came to the rescue. Apparently my phone was old and could no longer recognize that it was plugged in. Charlie took my phone apart and was able to charge my phone and get all my photos to icloud. I was the annoying customer that went in at 8:45 (however I only thought I needed to buy a new charger) but he helped me until 10:30 even though the store closed at 9. I am incredibly thankful for his expertise and help. So ASK FOR CHARLIE at this location. He's the best.

SIVACHANDRU PALANISWAMY

Good store and great service

Brittany Young

Horrible horrible horrible. I was sold a lemon phone and Apple refused to replace it or fix it at no cost becuse it was 3 days past the 90 day warranty. Apple no longer can guarantee the quality of their products.

Jordan McKittrick

Great store. Great items.

KueyRong Tsao

So I followed the direction and called to make an appointment. Well, to change my phone battery, I need to wait until Saturday( today is Thursday)! So the agent took my name and reserved 1:15 on for my appointment in MOA. She said she will send the confirmation through email. I still did not see any email to confirm my appointment in MOA at 1:00. This is a very frustrated experience. If Apple can’t handle the appointments, the company should hire more people to take care of customers!

Sarah S

Very helpful when you have a broken iPhone. They managed to get us in even though we didn’t have an appointment.

Bryce Sampson-Bernstrom

Impossible. Been trying to see someone here for several hours to get a battery replaced. They sent me a text when they’re ready, told me to bump it back until I could come in (because they didn’t have any appointments available so I was on standby) and then they told me to cancel my standby appointment because they were booked up. That’s not what you said earlier, why have I been waiting for 5 hours then? I just want to drop my phone off and come get it later, I’m not gunna sit here all day.

Jacob Cambpell

Terrible experience here, I purchased a MacBook Pro with Apple care for a total of 1500 dollars. 8 days after purchase my macbook died. I was told by Apple support that the only option was to replace the device. When I brought it in I was told by the rude, condescending manager (Charlie) that there was nothing he could do. He told me that I don’t understand how the manufacturer warranty works. I’m glad I bought a computer with AppleCare that Apple will not back up.

Erick Severson

I have a Samsung phone, so I don't know

Jenny Winter

Just visited the store to ask about purchasing a new Apple watch. I was told only the one watch specialist working could answer any questions (out of 10 other sales workers). Unfortunatley, she was busy having social time with her friends. Out of frustration, I had to ask a different associate, who was not helpful. Shouldn't more than one worker know how to sell a watch?

Branden Fessler

unfriendly customer service. Waited to see a technician at the genius bar, they were busy, so I was patient. Waited 2 hours to sit at the bar for another 30 before even being acknowledged. They did a good job once attended, but could have done a much better job of making me feel like a customer as opposed to a #.

Ras Kafka

Positive: When there is breaking news about Kavanaugh, you can pretend that you are testing each tablet, while changing them to all display that news for whoever walks up next. Negative: they removed all of the table mounted tags displaying the model, options and pricing. So if you are looking for something specific, you have to keep opening each tablet to see what it is. So if you are trying compare across different models/sizes/generations/memory/prices/bonus features/etc, you have to juggle it all in your head. To try to do on one random tablet. And that is a huge negative, as I couldn't do it when trying to figure out what my parents would be good with. I just left.

Paul Daniel Rodriguez

B(?) was super helpful and wonderful! Great experience.

Aliandra Zampino

Sent my mom over for help and she waited for 1.5 hours for a genius bar appointment only to be told she should go home and backup her data before they could help. The unbelievable part is that they knew she was unable to access her phone as it was asking for a 6-digit passcode which she did not have. This is a known glitch with the i0s 9 update. They sent her away instructing her to do something that was not possible. I called the store to verify what exactly they thought she would be able to do - to see if they had a workaround to backup her phone while it is locked. That was 20 minutes ago and the store employee was extremely unprofessional lacking any sense of proper customer service skills. He quickly told me he'd be transferring me to apple care before I interrupted him and told him he would not and that i wanted to speak with his manager. After coming back to the line the first time which was a redirect due to the amount of time i was on hold, he did not apologize for the wait and said he would "try again." When I asked for his name he quickly clicked the line to transfer me. Waited on hold for another 30 mins just to be HUNG UP ON. Called back three times with no answer. Not the kind of employee I would ever expect Apple to employ, nor Southdale Mall or The Simon Group. Extremely disappointed and will be filing a complaint as well as sharing this review on every social and review management platform imaginable.

Michael Thompson

Greeted by door staff, explained problem, he told us to go two tables in and talk to a different staff person. Walked over and waited to talk to him, explained the problem, he took our info and explained that our problem would either cost $75 or $300, depending on our protection plan. We knew if it was $300 version we'd not fix/replace w/same model, but buy new instead. However, he couldn't tell us if it was the $75 version or the $300 version, only an "expert" could do that. The wait would be 1 hour 15 minutes, we said yes. We waited, all the while I'm expecting someone with special skills to come over and hook the phone up to a computer and diagnose something complex, all the while I'm watching the door staff person and the second staff person stand around and help people roughly 50% of their time. After seeming to watch people come in and be paired up with an expert before us, we finally do get an expert. He turns the phone over and enters a serial number from the back of the phone into his iPad, and says, "ok, this is going to cost $300 to replace this phone." In a matter of 30 seconds he did what no other staff person could do, he entered an iPhone serial number into his iPad and told us what level of protection we had. I gently expressed my frustration, not with his service, but with the process. I asked why no other staff could have entered the serial number in, he said they're too busy (see previous comment regarding the observed amount of standing around and doing nothing). For good measure he also offered that we could have entered the serial number online and found the information just as easily, unfortunately neither of his colleagues who both understood the $75 v. $300 implications offered us the same advice prior to spending 1 1/2 hours waiting in their store. We bought a new phone from the Verizon booth just upstairs, and will never again visit the Southdale Apple Store.

Corey Callies

Wait was long but it was a Friday evening, though anytime I have been in an Apple store they have been pretty much packed. Key is to checkin as soon as you enter the store with a worker. After figuring out I needed to do this the wait time was probably about 10-15 minutes (busy day) to get what I needed. Otherwise the store and it's showcase was excellent and the individual who assisted me (Duncan) was very helpful!

Fred Hund

We simply need our iphone 6 battery replaced and don't want to make two trips to the store, as we live 2 hours away. It has been IMPOSSIBLE to get through on the phone....1/2 hour with various voice recognition menus and on hold (with my choice of music....) If my call is important to you, hire enough people to answer it.

Olivia D

Horrible service. Just need a new charger that is covered by apple care. Only a "technician" can help me. I asked an employee how many technicians are working today. He said he didn't know. Really? Poor answer. If Apple products are supposed to be so great, why is this store full of people needing technicians?

Brandon Hill

Exceedingly poor service. I bought a new phone from another store, but went to this location to have them manually transfer my data to the new device from the old. But the service was slightly rude, lethargic, and ultimately I left with more issues than I came in with.

John B

Sales people can't even look at you. Apple used to have customer service. As a customer you feel like you don't matter. If you walk in to buy something you have to wait while sales people stare at their I pads trying to figure out whose next

John Smith

Same lame rigmarole.

Suhad .abdulhusseen

I had a bad experience with this store, When I had problem with my previous phone I took my phone to this store they let me waiting for long time and they know what is the issue but they keep doing more diagnostics even if the results was showing the errors. They replace my phone by almost the closing time of the store which is I was there for about 3 hours. The staffing at this store and the management have a bad costumer service. When I got the replacement the person who was helping me didn't update my warranty on the phone when run into another problem with the replacement phone no one want to help me because they told me I'm out of warranty which I 'm but not showing on the system because of the person who replaced my phone. Thank you for Joshua from the Call Center he was able to understand my saturation and helped me to get my issue done, also Chasity was the very helpful she helped me to get my issue resolve and she send a report with my issue to Apple Store at Rosedale mall Shopping Center to help me with my issue. Thank you for Joshua and Chasity for the help.

Donna King

Employee told me it would be 45 minutes before I could see a technician 45 minutes later, it would be another hour. No wonder I have Android

Kathleen Brogan

Jake helped me yesterday with grace, kindness and great manners. More importantly he showed me how to avoid future problems. I am so grateful for his help!

james hoghauug

Never thought I’d be rating a place for one star. My apple laptop was defective, a product mind you that I’m paying 1,000+ dollars for, and I decided to bring it in. When I got it back I noticed the Touch ID on the laptop was broken. They had me wait a week for it to be repaired. Soon enough when next week rolled around I hadn’t received a phone call so I came in without notice. They gave me my laptop back, still in a broken condition and they informed me that the parts were still being ordered. I waited yet another week and not a single call. Came in again on my own time, and the manager informed me that they were the ones who broke my Touch ID. No one told me about this until I was TWO WEEKS into getting it “repaired”. Then the manager finally after two weeks offered to order me in a new laptop. Promised me it would be in on Monday. I come in on Tuesday the next week and what a surprise. It didn’t come in. I’ve been waiting three weeks. Please, do yourself a favor and do not bring your laptops in here. I’ve found myself falling behind in school due to these people not being able to get me a functioning laptop to use my school programs on.

Susan Miller

Caution! Poor communication and disappointing service. I made a visit to diagnose computer issues and needed to order a battery. I clearly explained my availability to return and install the battery and appropriate notes were placed with my order. That visit went well or so I thought. I returned as specified to install the battery and apple had sent back the battery. Staff ( names D or Dee?) offed no apology or empathy for wasted time/trip or inconvenience of needing to wait another 5-7 days for them to reorder. Turned out the staff from the first visit made some errors with information given to me. The extent of communication with this employee at the second visit was an iPad put in front of me and to sign (again) for a repeat order. I’m in a service business as well and was looking for just a statement of consolation and empathy for wasted time and inconvenience. This felt like like entrapment and apathy for a customer without choices. Shame on Apple for letting me walk out the door without a simple acknowledgment of how I was clearly feeling or errors made. Staff needs some customer service training.

Jane Williams

The service in this store is not "Apple Like"- I really love the product but hate the service at the stores. The stores are always crowded and there many technology Apple experts with blue shirts walking around. It is unclear that you need to check in with a guest "check in" person. After you explain what you are looking for they ask you to wait or take a seat- someone will be with you soon. You don't know how long or who will be with you. I just wanted to drop off my phone and pay them $120 to change a cracked screen. I even booked a "Genius" appointment online- which means absolutely nothing. I still stood in line to check in with the "check in" person. I then sat and waited for 20 minutes and still no one even spoke to me-"we will be right with you"- "I know you are waiting and we will handle soon"- anything would have helped. I just wanted to drop off my phone to have screen fixed. After 45 minutes of being completely ignored I left the store. This is happened on several occasions at this store. New management must be hired to deal with the service. I think it is time to sell Apple Stock or short the stock. Great product with really crappy service and attitude. Good luck.
