My experience with Kyle was great from start to finish. He returned our first call right away and was very accommodating to my tight schedule. My computer was overheating and the fan was really loud. He told me that I may need a new fan or just a cleaning. He preordered the fan just in case I needed it. We were able to drop off the computer on a sunday afternoon and he gave me the diagnosis result that night. I was able to pick up the computer the next afternoon. It was great to have such quick turnaround considering that I had to catch a flight on that Tuesday (computer dropped off on Sunday).

I accidentally spilled water on my MacBook. I took it to Kyle after the Apple store said there was nothing they could do and that getting the data off would cost over $500. While he wasn't able to rescue the computer, he was able to pull all the data out, for significantly less than $500 - a very pleasant surprise. I found ProTech Guy online and decided to give them a call because my business laptop wouldn’t boot up. The tech guy, Kyle, came to my home office, picked up my machine and said he would get back to me. Hours later he e-mailed to let me know it was a hard drive failure and he gave me three hard drive options and prices. I e-mailed him back and was undecided about whether I should bag the whole machine (laptop) and just buy a new one. He reassured me that my computer was up-to-date, with a good processor and LED screen. He said it should last for years. He also mentioned that the old hard drive was very slow. It had taken six hours to run the diagnostics on it, where it should have only taken around 45 minutes. He mentioned that with a new hard drive (one that he had recommended) I would have a better, faster experience in just about every computer task. He also said that my machine could take another 2 gb RAM, and he included the price in his e-mail as well. The last thing he mentioned in his e-mail was the fact that for less than $20 he could get me a USB cable that would allow me to tap into my “broken” drive for however long it lasted so that I could recover the files I needed. I okay’d the repair by responding to the e-mail and the machine was back on my desk and I was working by the next night. I guess what impressed me most about the service from ProTech Guy was the fact that I was not just given the remedy for the problem. I was given options and advice, which I truly appreciated. Kyle even told me how to backup with the Windows 7 operating system and he explained how reliable it was and how to do it. Finally, I was able to recover files from the old drive, my computer is now much faster, and I barely missed a beat in my business. Recently, I found out that ProTech Guy does set ups for tablets and other electronics, like home monitoring systems. I will definitely call him if I need help in those areas as well. If you live in the Belmont, MA, Boston-Metro area and you have a computer problem, I wholeheartedly recommend Kyle and the ProTech Guy.

I can provide feedback only for laptop upgrades, but I recommend Pro Tech Guy when you need an upgrade on your laptops. Kyle is very knowledgable on both PC and Mac computers. I asked Kyle to upgrade my HD on my MacBook Pro and I am extremely satisfied with the service I received. The price of service was fair and he takes good care of the machines. If I need an upgrade for my laptop in the future, this is where I will take it.

I recently used Pro Tech Guy to look over, update and repair my laptop. I was getting tired of staging it on 4 coke caps so it wouldn't overheat. Not to mention the fact that it was so slow I could get a cup of coffee before it would log into the home page when it was turned on. Pro Tech Guy recommended updating to Windows 10, installing a SSD - Solid State Drive and replacing the fan (that looked like a small cat was living in it - he sent me a picture). I took advantage of all the recommendations and I'm so glad I did. My laptop is better than the day I purchased. The speed is phenomenal and it is actually staying cool. Now I just have to learn more about Windows 10. I forgot to mention that he picked it up and delivered it back to me in less than a week.

Three months ago while trying to access an account website, my computer froze and had the "blue screen of death". Not knowing what to do, I called the telephone number that appeared on the screen. Fortunately however I came to my senses before "giving the farm away". I found ProTech Guy through an internet search. Kyle picked up my laptop that day and returned it 2 days later after removing the virus, performing PC optimization and instaling anti-virus and malware protection. Kyle saved my day. I was using word when my computer screen went blank. The project I was working on was due the following morning, and not knowing what to do decided to contact Pro Tech Guy. The minute I got there Kyle put me at ease, not only showed me the part that were broken, but helped me to make a decision. Agreed to come to my home to pick up the laptop that needed trouble-shooting and setup; prior to coming, when our plans and timetable subsequently changed, he was perfectly at ease meeting me at a local restaurant where I was having dinner with a friend in order to make connection. Then, when he needed to bring it back, he made a house call at a time convenient to me, and took a fair amount of additional time to sit down to help me with setting up and tweaking the settings, including its resolution, on a new external display - all at no extra charge. He's very bright and knows his stuff. You can't go wrong.

On one occasion he built a desktop computer from scratch for our family. Kyle is amazing! I am computer illiterate at 55 years old but he made all answers to my questions easy to understand and never once made me feel uncomfortable about asking even the silliest question!! My computer was a mess with viruses and what not… Not only did Kyle fix it but he managed to put on some even better software at what I considered a reasonable/manageable price for a single woman. He diagnosed the problem with my hard drive and suggested I move to a solid state drive to speed things up....computer was still in good shape otherwise. Since I use it every day, all day, I was a little panicked about having to leave it to be fixed for several days.
