If I had to describe AAMCO in one word it would be... Greatness. The most helpful and time efficient shop that I ever dealt with. Had a transmission problem it only took 3 business days to fix, while other shop told me 2weeks. All jokes aside any problems with your car go to AAMCO (Roslindale) the best

John was really sweet by remaining calm and helping me during a CRISIS. My transmission failed and I went to AAMCO Roslindale to have my transmission rebuilt for my 2003 Honda Accord. They did a great job by fixing my car, connecting me to affordable financing options and they gave me a 18 month warranty on my transmission. Any issue I have moving forward they are willing to check out and fix and John has encouraged me to come back in a month or so to look over the car. He is great and so is his staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I would like to first start off saying I rather Daves son, than Dave himself. This was one of my worst experiences ever. In short at the end of the process what was said to be fixed remains the same, so what did I pay for? A lot of lies and misconceptions in terms of pricing and what they will do for me. First told that they were familiar with my warranty company and guaranteed that the costs on my end would be low. Also told me of when I should receive my vehicle back which wasn't true at all, I had to wait an additional 2 days. Upon hearing that my costs would be low for a transmission issue I said yes to the terms without knowing the fine print, everything was done over the phone since I was at work (learned that I should always go in and figure everything out first). At the end of things they tried to pin all of the costs on the warranty company to make them seem like the bad ones but when in reality they tried to twist what was said, they could have accepted the parts and done the work to lessen the costs on my end. But for "warranty" reasons didn't go that direction and used parts that they found fit, making something which I may have paid $250-$300, to roughly $1800. Why do I need additional warranty for the parts, if my warranty company is buying parts which I could have gotten cheaper and still be covered by their warranty? My last additional comment is for Dave, who did give me unsatisfactory customer service, tried to keep me out of the loop of things happening in terms of the discussion between him and my warranty company, and is the guy who pinned my warranty company to make it seem like they were the ones to blame instead of using what the warranty was giving out to lower my costs. He seemed friendly and acted as if he was on my side, but don't be fooled. Hope you can learn something from my experience, don't have your car held up like I did and have to resort in paying $1050 for no repairs or $1800+ for repairs. Or just stay away from this place like I plan to in the future. *Edit: 4 months later, issue with the sound still present, and transmission issues with the car after work from these guys. Great experience right?

A brought my Ford Five-Hundred here about 3 months ago to have the transmission replaced, and a few other small things. After being given a week for an estimate, and then being promised a rental car when it took closer to 12-13 days, I never received a rental car, to which the guy at the Aamco desk replied, "That's not my problem." Then when I stated that I'd be unable to do my job without my car, and that he was costing me money, he turned to my aunt (who had brought me here to pick up my car) and said, "Why didn't you step up and take him to work?" This is not acceptable! Beyond the fact that this man didn't realize (even though he'd been told just over a week and a half ago) that I delivered pizzas, he has no idea what my Aunt does, and why she may or may not have been able to help me. Moving on, I finally get my car back, and to be fair, the things worked on did work, and the transmission continues to run smoothly. Though it doesn't take long for other issues to arise. The change that I kept away in my glove box was all missing (relatively minor issue, and when brought up to the owner he gave me $20, in light of this I'll digress) and my Check Engine light had mysteriously come on even though it wasn't an issue before. I immediately spoke to the rude man inside again, who assured me that the light being on was 'normal' and that when they did the check-up in two weeks it would be sorted out, so I decided to humor him and bring it back. Fast-forward 2 weeks and a great conversation with another customer who was not at all satisfied with their service while we were in the waiting room, they tell me everything is fine... But I'd need to bring the car back in a few weeks for them to fix the issue with the engine light, and it'd take a few hours when I did. I immediately found this fishy, and decided that Aamco wasn't worth my time anymore. Fast-forward to a few weeks ago, and I've brought my car to a Ford dealership to have them work on the check engine issue. Turns out that Aamco had forgotten to plug something back in, and I was now down another $100. Avoid this place like the plague, the employees aren't just rude, they're incompetent and theiving.

Totally disgusting experience dealing with AAMCO in Roslindale, MA. My car was in their shop for 3 1/2 weeks. During that time info was scarse and when I called about my car all I got was attitude from the owner Dave and his wife. I went their in person and asked why it was taking so long and the response I received was "You see how many cars I have here? I have over 30 cars to repair." I asked why wasn't I told that my car repairs would be contingent upon completion of other cars. When I asked that question Dave the owner slammed his office door in my face. After finally getting my car back it drove well for a few days before I had to bring it back. Upon bringing it back I got even more attitude as though I had done something wrong to the car. Going to AAMCO in Roslindale was the BIGGEST mistake I have ever made!!! BEWARE as Dave and his wife were very friendly to receive my business but after having my car in their possession, their attitudes quickly changed. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

They showed me what part of my car was not working properly, they told me why it was not working, and they explained how they could fix it. When I left my car there, John got me an Uber so I wouldn't have to pay for one, or ask someone for a ride. The experience was a good one despite thw circumstance.

John, the owner, is an honest and fair person. I recently purchased a used vehicle and brought it in for a free break check when apparently John discovered the car had major issues , up to $3,000 to resolve. I then took the car back from John, free of charge and returned to the dealer to resolve this issue as I shouldn’t have to spend 3k on a newly purchased vehicle in which it was rigged to past inspection. I recommend this location as an honest mechanic shop for your car!

If I could rate this place 10 stars, I would. This is one of the nicest shops in the area and combined with John and his team, you'd be crazy not to come here. John took the time to explain everything about my car, and even saved me money where it didn't need to be spent! If you want honest and quality auto repair, look no further. John is Mr. Clutch. He not only fix my a/c & the compressor issues when I dropped it off 7:30am. The fact he fixed that and also did a oil change he did all in 1 day. Especially in the summer time he gave me a reasonable price in this heatwave when everyone was overpricing. Very nice Mr. Quality. Not gonna let anyone touch my car.

My overall experiences at AAMCO have been great. John has always taken the time to fit me in at the last minute for whatever issue that has occurred with my car. The environment is always welcoming and he always gives me an affordable price for top notch service. I recently had an issue with my hood latch so I dropped into the shop and he had his mechanic take care of it for me in a matter of 10mins. John and his team at AAMCO are a great group of guys that gets the job done. I recommend all my family and friends.

I have never had such bad service and all the while insulted by the owner as if it is all my fault. I dropped off Car as check engine light came on and got a transmission code error. Now i was scheduled for Monday dropped off night before. It snowed like 6 inches they were closed due to snow. Now every other business including valvoline mcdonalds was open. Should of known then to take it elsewhere but I had used AAMCO at another location before and received great service. So they told me transmission needed to be replaced. Okay its under warranty let's do it. Warranty company sent out new used transmission they installed it. I Get it back every light in car is on check engine light, VSA light, traction control light mind you only check engine light before. I tell them they say its stuff other then transmission they will fix but i have to pay. Now first off why am i being told this now after i brought it up not them. Second off why wasn't any of this showing up initially either during their initial look or when I ran the codes myself at a Autozone. Of course I'm late for work so i have no choice but to leave with my car "as is". Ok shopping around for quotes to fix these new other items car over heats blown radiator. So mechanic fixes it and says transmission is bobbing all around in the car as i was not properly mounted. Surprised heck out of me since i just fixed it. Call AAMCO up they told me to bring it in and we will drop everything and look at it. Great response i thought they were going to fix it right away. I tell them wednesday and bring it by. Car sits there all day mind you i took a day off work. Not their problem they tell me other cars are ahead of me. So why tell me to bring it in today. I just picked my car up I'm taking it to another mechanic. I paid a lot of money for what appears to be shotty incompetent work. Stay clear of this place its full of cars something tells me they don't have quality employees or management.

I thought something was wrong with my transmission so I brought it here. They checked it out told me everything is fine but I should do a transmission flush and some other small mechanical things. I said okay felt like I was getting a deal since I was expecting a transmission replacement what was $400 worth of repairs. I get my car back 1 week later car won't move I have it towed there transmission is blown and the cost they wanted to fix was too much for me so now I'm out $400 on a car that is now no good. What kind of transmission place can't properly diagnose a slipping transmission. A bunch of jokers at this place and no one even apologized almost sounded as if my fault.

i brought my Chevy Suburban to John and his technicians for a complete transmission rebuild. After diagnosing the problem (s), working with my other mechanic to troubleshoot, hunting down noises , ordering specific parts ......they fixed it! My Suburban runs beautifully. I know it was a challenge but they would not let my take the SUV home until they were satisfied it was completely repaired. Highly recommend!

Don't go there. The manager john is a scam artist. Went there because my transmission is taking longer than usual to engage in first gear, after that it works fine so I brought it in to have a free diagnosis. After having my truck All Day John calls me to tell me all my clutches were bad especially the first. He says my technician is one of the best and he can have my transmission on the work table by Monday and ready by Wednesday, but it was going to cost me $3000 to overhaul. I told him I didn't have the money now and I would pick up by 4:45pm. He advised me not to drive it anymore or cost would be more to repair. First my first gear is the strongest and I peel off when I gun it every time. When I went in to pick up he was on the phone preaching the same thing he told me word by word to another customer. I'm still driving with no problems just the delay when I first shift. I wouldnt trust that guy with your money :(
