Staff are very friendly and seem very knowledgeable. They couldn't fix my broken screen on my HTC U11. I did have to pay up front, but then they refunded my money when they couldn't fix it. I am highly offended by the response I received from this owner. I initially left the above review with a 3-star which I thought was being grateful after them not being able to fix my phone. But then I receive the message asking me to delete my post because it effects their rating and the phone repair service is a separate business. I contacted MyTech via fb as you can see from my picture, they did not reply that it was a separate business and proceeded to answer my questions involving my phone repair. This company is obviously dishonest in their practices and are just worried about how many star reviews they get and not the information contained in those reviews. If the cell phone business is completely separate and not at all affiliated then they should have their own sign, own facebook page, etc. I have written many reviews for many businesses and I have never came across one like this.

Took in my PC for a simple replacement of the charging port/dc jack. They wanted $189.99. I ended up replacing it myself for a $7 part from amazon in 30 minutes with a youtube how to video. The funny thing is I may have payed up to $150, but when they gave that outrageous price I looked up the part and saw 7 bucks. Even if the $7 part gives out 25 times it would still be cheaper. So there is no logic in saying it's a cheap part! I would not recommend. They definitely tried to take advantage of an older woman.

None of them - NONE! - have ever measured up to Chris Abbotts' MyTech Computer Repair company in honesty, efficiency, kindness, & quality of service! His knowledge is incredible! If it's a software issue, a hardware issue, or no issue at all, he'll solve it fast, at a fair price, and will get it right the first time, every time! If you are a local business person who wants to improve your business, grab any laptop you have and take it to Chris and ask him to 'check it out'. Then watch him work. Take notes!

Fast and reasonable. My laptop was stuck in an endless reboot loop and I was worried about salvaging my files and the laptop itself. Dropped it off Thursday afternoon and had it back within 24 hrs. I'd say less than 3 hours after dropping it off, they called to give me a price quote and idea of what needed to be done, asking for the okay before proceeding. They ran into additional issues, having to unexpectedly replace the hard drive, which they did, and stuck to the quote price not charging for the replacement part which I am so thankful for! Laptop is up and running smoothly and no files lost. I did lose one program (Adobe Photoshop) but all things considered, I'm really grateful for the timeliness, price and overall outcome. Paying less than $200 to repair my laptop as opposed to losing everything and starting anew paying $600+ for a new laptop was exactly what I wanted to do. My Tech delivered and I was not disappointed. Definitely recommend.

My family has used his business for years and he is always extremely fair in price and very quick with his work. Recently, we had dropped off our laptop to see about getting a virus removed and decided against it because of the computer's age. When we went to pick up our laptop, he informed us that he had fixed it free of charge and told us Merry Christmas. These are the kinds of local businesses that anyone should be happy to support. Kindness like that, these days, is difficult to come by and his simple gesture meant so much to my family. We are officially forever customers!!

Grossly overcharges for labor. $30 part that was simply plug-in, charged $190. Granted, the laptop wasn't the easiest to work on, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt that it took an "experienced" tech a total of an hour to disassemble, unplug, plug, and reassemble the machine. (It takes me tops 10 minutes to disassemble). That's $150 an hour for labor. That's insane.

Chris was great to work with, very professional, laid out to me what he was going to do before he did it, and worked a small miracle saving my water damaged laptop. My boyfriend had spilled water on my laptop (which shut itself off). I gave it a few days to dry out, but did not try to restart it. I called Chris before stopping by to see if this was something My Tech did. He told me to drop it off, the earlier in the day the better. It would take him about 2 hours to take it apart and run a diagnostic on my laptop (which was FREE). Meaning if he couldn't repair it he wasn't going to charge me. Who does that these days? After which he would call me and let me know where things stood. So I did exactly that. I dropped off the laptop around 10:30am, and Chris called me back right at 2 hours. Told me that he believed he could repair it (had to do with the various connectors, cleaning and maybe replacing some). It would run $140-170 depending on how much needed to be replaced and how long it would take him. He called me around 12:30 and said that I could pick it up by 4pm. He's the kicker, if my laptop didn't work he wasn't going to charge me anything. I repeat, HE WASN'T GOING TO CHARGE ME IF MY LAPTOP DIDN'T WORK. Apparently My Tech guarantees all of their work. Chris saved me from having to buy a new laptop and transfer everything. Plus he cleaned everything inside and out, so it's all shiny and new looking. (Ended up costing $170 and in my mind was money very well spent. I had my laptop back same day.) I'm just visiting Hagerstown for a few weeks over Christmas. However, if I have any other computer issues while I'm in town or on future visits, I know where I'm going. I'm happy to support this local business!

Chris seemed like an awesome and friendly guy for the small amount of time I spent talking to him. Took my MacBook Pro here that wouldn’t turn on to get looked at, Chris gave me a free diagnosis of liquid damage and said the cost of replacing each part just wasn’t worth it. The laptop was 7 years old anyway. Saved me a lot of money in the long run. Cool shop, I’ll for sure be back if I have any other problems.

Dropped my laptop off in the morning because of booting failure and it was done in two hours as if nothing was wrong with it! More importantly the price was very doable and not overcharged like most shops. Best place to go in Hagerstown for many of your electronic devices. They saved me tons as a college student.

Brought in a recent high level PC build I was building for my son as a Xmas gift. No boot no beep no video, but getting power to the fans. Figured a second set of experienced eyes could help determine the issue, since I have limited resources to test. Blindly throwing replacement parts at it, and the possible RMA nightmare that entails, was what I was trying to avoid. The staff was very friendly and professional, testing what they could and recommended a replacement motherboard (even though they were not able to test the motherboard or the processor, .....just recommending most likely culprit). I offered to pay for the checkups they did and they declined. Very knowledgeable, classy outfit that I would recommend to everyone. BTW guys, it was the Motherboard. Thanks!

I was able to get my laptop fixed for less than $150.00. Needless to say, I won't be going back. I understand businesses need to make money, but that's ridiculous.

I inquired about a replacing a cracked back on an iPhone 8Plus and was told it would be “$189 for a back housing replacement.” I was then told to bring the phone in to confirm no other parts are needed. I made arrangements for my S/O to take my phone there. Once there he stated it would be $300 for a back with the Apple Logo. When I received this news and asked why he didn’t tell me that before wasting my time and making arrangements, he placed the blame on me stating I should have been specific. Mind you, an IPhone back comes STANDARD with an Apple Logo. Why would I have needed to specify that? I DO NOT recommend this business because of the misleading information they provided in order to get me to the store. Side Note: I advised them my phone shattered and my car was wrecked on the same day and he assured me they would take care of the phone issue. Using a moment of weakness in order for their come up was very unprofessional and unpleasant.

My son is has been working in Computer Graphics for 3+ years. He is constantly working on major projects and is also taking extra courses. He had a had drive with ALL of his basic career on it. In the course of the past rains, my son had moved into a basement apartment. He came home one night to s soggy, soaked carpet where his back pack, with his hard driver enclosed, that had sat all day just soaking and sitting in that wet bag. My son was sick. He quickly threw his HD into a bowl of rice. After all that, he tried his HD and nothing!! We were all sick for him. I took the HD with me and thought that I would take it to Best Buy to see if there were any hope. They immediately saw that they could do nothing. However, they directed me to My Tech. Long story short, the tech guy took my HD, opened it, and cleaned and brushed, and brushed and cleaned. He fussed about the corrosion. And gave me little hope.... Guess what! That little HD fired up and he was able to save EVERYTHING! What a happy, relieved moment!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

One of my PC fans was making loud buzzing sounds, another fan was not working at all and the overall fan noise was getting ridiculously loud. I realized that I needed someone to fix it or I would have to get a new system. The online reviews for this place were great, so I brought the PC there for their free diagnostics. It was late in the day and they said they'd call with the quote by the next morning. As promised, they called the next day by late morning/early afternoon with the quote, but it was a lot higher than I expected, so decided it might be better to buy a new system. When I got there though and told them, Chris said he'd already done the repair and it was fine either way, so no charge. I couldn't believe it. The PC now sounds like it's brand new. So they're professional, fair and fast. Would leave 10 stars if I could. Thank you My Tech!

I have never taken my laptop to anyone but my cousin so I was very weary of coming here. Let me start by saying Chris is totally a man of his word. He called me within two hours to rell me what was wrong with my laptop. Gave me a great price and had it fixed the same day!! He explained everything to me step by step and even reviewed it again when i was picked it up. He is such an honest guy too. He could have made more money by recommending i replace something that i had been told needed replaced and Chris went over the pros and cons of the replacement with me and said i really did not have to do that to improve performance!! I am very impressed and will be going to Chris from now on, though I hope to not have any issues anytime soon!!!

The owners just really rude (I just said I didn't want them putting stickers on my laptop, their response was "deal with it"), and when I took my laptop in to get a price quote for repair it took them 3x to give me a quote than they said it would.
