Please read... a few months back I took my phone here because my iPhone no longer would charge I was waiting from 4:30-6:00... terrible but when I finally sat down with a technician he told me my phone couldn’t be fixed and I needed to buy a whole new phone... so I left sad because I don’t have any money to buy a new phone. I ended up going to a repair place around the corner he fixed my phone for 80 dollars!! Which was amazing and my phone is still able to charge to this day! Don’t listen to these people some of them will lie to you so you can spend money: the least they could do was tell me that they can’t fix it but that someone else could instead of lying

This has to be the worst apple store i have ever been. Customer Service is absolutely horrible and demeaning. They will literally cut your phone call, yes, the apple workers will cut your phone call when they feel like it. I called and the "Specialist" which by the way i dont even know how she got that job she probably worked at mcdonals before, she cut my call two times, and when i called back to complain about her, she was the one that answered! This is just pure comedy! save yourself sometime and do everything online!

I'm a fan of Apple products but I've had mostly bad experiences with this particular store. The technicians are generally nice and respectful; however, the store manager, Michael, is condescending and rude. He did not make me feel like a valued customer nor did he make me feel the want to ever return to that store.

This store was not adequately staffed to handle the volume of customers within a reasonable amount of time. I stopped in to purchase a product available on the Apple Store website, but didn't see it on display. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked a salesperson whether they even sold the item in this store. He wasn't familiar with the product, but couldn't find it in the list. I'll check the Tyson's Corner store this week and see if I can purchase it there. Edit: Purchased the item the following day at the Tyson's store without any problems.

I bought a 8 plus, but should said it was Terrible service .and I will not choose this store for my future purchase. I brought my brother to get his new phone, and his was thinking between the 7 plus or 8 plus. There was not busy at all , 3 associates standing in the front, maybe doing the sigh up, the other four were in the back of the store. They tried to ignore the customers , and I came up to speak one of the lady in the front, after questioning about the price of 7 plus or 8 plus, she stopped me and said I was registered, then someone would come to me to help me out, after 30 mins waiting, I came to the lady again to ask for help, since they were doing nothing during my waiting, and was told the same " someone will come in helping you out", fine .,,still looking my brother wants, about 20 mins, one associate came from the back, but not going to me, was going the front door to ask the man who just came in if he needs any help. I was really in good mood, I came to the ladies who said that I was registered, and asked her why the gentlemen came after me , without registering, but was helped in front of me... " we are taking care of different zone", she said. What a **** zone? My face really showed that I was mad, suddenly a Girl coming , first question. It was if I was already know what I wanted, very rude and inpatient, so will she ignored me if I still asking questions. Fine, my brother was visiting me, and we didn't want this broke our trip. We just bought the 8 plus , and didn't have a bag until we asked for .

My very first visit to Apple Montgomery Mall was very disappointing! I go there to have my iPhone repaired I check in they tell me take a seat some one will be with you shortly. I wait 2.5 hours just to drop off my phone to get a recall done. Once I was helped they tell me it be about 7-10 days for the repair and they would contact me once everything is complete. Second visit I come to pick up my so called repaired phone instead I was given not only the wrong phone but a fraudulent phone. I had to wait another 3.0 hours until they figured out where my phone was. I was given a loaner phone and was told they would call me tomorrow once they had my phone back. I then waited two days didn’t receive a call. I called on Saturday morning a apple rep said that there still waiting to hear from there tech support. One hour later they call back and tell me my phone is ready. I drive about 45 minutes to go pick up my phone and apple couldn’t activate my iPhone apple rep tells me I been doing this all morning all the others have activated fine. Contact your phone carrier they will connect for you. Whatttttt I was very disappointed with the whole situation having to come three times each time waiting more then 2 hours also try to give me the wrong phone and then tell me they can’t activate my phone. That’s not customer service!!

I came into the store and didn’t really feel that some of the associates wanted to help or weren’t very friendly. When I walked in I guess they were busy but even when I asked for help, the person didn’t seem to be very friendly.The man who was sent to help me w my phone was actually very nice.But I was prepared to wait there awhile to wait for my phone to back up which I bought extra storage for and know more should have transferred. I could have sworn by back up said it was 30 some min to go but for some reason one of the associates figured it was done and instructed me to erase my phone and sent me on my way saying my photos might show up later. But 4 days later only 645 photos transferred which I know I had more than enough space for more of my photos to transfer. So now I’ve lost a large amount of my photos and videos. I think she may have made a mistake and sent me on my way too soon. I did not appreciate being rushed like that and I didn’t even know what was going on. Lack of information w these people and lack of communication. Don’t go to this location, people are not very helpful.

I went to get a battery replaced and had to leave after sitting for 20 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time with no assistance. This should really just involve dropping off your phone - obviously not enough staff to handle the level of traffic during lunch on a weekday - or the common sense to just take my phone and give me a time to come back for pickup at the outset.

Went to pick up an online order and it was hard to get someone to help or even acknowledge me. There were staff members that were available to help and walking around but just didn't even make eye contact and seem as if they were avoiding customers rather than trying to help, I had to go stand next to someone who was helping another person and wait for him to be done so I could ask for help.

Really poor customer service all the representers looks stressful and not willing to help you at all I came today at the Apple store and the first person greet you wasn’t unable to find my name in the scheduled appointment I had to call the manager and he was able to find my name I just came today to replace the battery on my slow iPhone 6s Plus. Very bad Location I do not recommend this location to someone it is with limited time at least you need to be willing to spend the 4hours minimum on any issue even for sales!!

Well I went to lots of Apple stores for Apple Watch 4 and no one had it in stock. But this store. I was in and out in no time. Like within 5 minutes I was out with my new Apple Watch. And that on weekend. When the store was packed with people. I love the service they provide there and the way they designed the store is extra ordinary. I loved it. It amazing. Ask them as many questions as you want and they will answer. The staff was so knowledgeable and nice. Not like the one on Bethesda. They are rude. That’s why I came here. So people next time you want to go to Apple and you are in Bethesda area. I will recommend the store in Montgomery Mall. Don’t waste your time going to the one in Bethesda. They are rude and mean people works there. The manager was rude too. Was some indian dude I guess but he was so rude.

I went in for a scheduled appointment at the genius bar and checked in with this guy at the front. Then I waited for half an hour and found out that the guy who checked me in didn't actually check me in. When I confronted him about it he didn't acknowledge it and just shrugged me off. Great experience. Made an appointment day of online - on a holiday. expected to wait a long time to get a shattered screen replaced. We went in 2 hours earlier and they put us on the wait list. We were back in there within 20 minutes, the guy gave us phenomenal service and good recommendations, and the phones repair was done in under an hour. All in - we were at the mall for under 2 hours. Amazing! Go Apple store!

A very dysfunctional customer service. While calling this location I sat on the phone for 15 minutes unable to get a hold of anyone. it was mid afternoon on a weekday..they were not busy at all. I was able to get a hold of someone from apple services support and they also called the location with the same issue and basically told me that if I do not get a response from the store etc then to call or email him back and that as a senior he would escalate the issue and take necessary action. I don't know if it's pure laziness or what, but for a brand that's being sued for deviation and sneaky in making more money tactic by fooling people, you would think an alert would go to customer service to help preserve the brand

This store is the absolute worst. If I could do no stars I would. I hate going in there, however I always end up having to go in because of difficulties with my Apple products. The manager there is a lunatic and so many other words that I will not name. She said that all my issues are normal, my issue was that battery lasted a tiny amount of time, that’s NOT normal. I was there for 3 hours meanwhile, I was going in there to buy a new phone and upgrade it. They were being so obnoxious I ca not explain. It was my 3rd phone and I was still having issues and they couldn’t find the issues in the computer. It was ridiculous. DO NOT GO THERE. IT IS ON MY BLACKLIST of stores.

Typical Apple store. Place is always crammed with kids playing with iPhones/iPads. Sometimes it's difficult to get anyone to help you or even buy anything. I'd say 75% of the people that come in here do so just to play with all the items.

Went with my friend to have his iphone 6plus battery replaced, Waited almost 4 hours, paid and got his phone back. After a week, battery issue was not corrected, called and was told to bring back in for a diagnostic check. Returned back to the store, after the check, was told that the battery cannot be replaced as the phone was supposed to be replaced as there was an issue with the battery replacement and since he got back his old phone instead of the new as Apple record shows, they will have to get upper management direction as to how to proceed from there. Was not happy and complained to the 'store manager', indicating that it is very BAD business practice to charge for a service that they did not perform, tricky monkey business. Later that day, was called back to pick up a new phone. Wrote to headquarters about our experience and got back that they will look into it. Consumers beware, are you sure you got your iphone battery replaced as they claimed they did? Huge disappointment for diehard Apple fan.

Came in to the store already knowing what I wanted to purchase. Went up to two employees who weren’t helping customers and asked for assistance. They told me I needed to wait so I waited for about an hour just to make a five minute purchase on a MacBook. Meanwhile many employees seemed to be slacking off and when I was finally assisted the employee wasn’t helpful at all and told me nothing about the warranty. Just swiped my card and that was it. I would think you would want to treat your customers a bit better especially after making a decent priced purchase. And the fact that I’m not the only who feels this way shows your employees are highly incompetent.

Worse location!!!! I’ve been there 4 times now to replace my battery. The first time they said that they were too busy to even schedule an appointment and for me to go on a week day! The second time (on a week day) they said that they were too busy to change the battery, but scheduled an appointment and said to come back at 7:40 on a Thursday. I got there at 6:20 and wanted to just drop off my phone, but they sent me back saying that I had to go at my appointment time exact. I came back at the exact time and they had me wait an additional 20 minutes. Finally someone came to help and said that they were too busy to change my battery at the time and to go back the next day!!!!!

This place can be a complete mad house. If you need a basic repair like a crack in your screen display issue or sound, your better off going to one of the cell phone kiosks in the mall. Or go there first. Not only will they be cheaper but they will help you out faster. Expect to wait at the apple store, even if you have an appointment. I had an appointment with the Genius Bar, but they couldn’t find my name on the list. I had to show them my confirmation email and then suddenly they found me. My MacBook Pro was just 6 months old, but I was told it would have to be repaired rather than replaced, absolutely, no option. Then I received a call from Apple Care that I was getting a new computer. Right now I’ve been on hold with the store trying to let them know that my husband, rather than me, will be picking up the computer. I’ve waited 10 minutes, so far. Very disappointing. Not like the Apple from years ago.

What a terrible experience. I came here to trade in my old MacBook And get a new one. When I arrived the customer service representative told me that they do not except trade-ins and then I would have to go do it online after purchasing my computer. I try to do this online and realized I could only Get a gift card, and not a credit toward my purchase, since the purchase is already made. I called customer service who referred me back to the store. I called the store and was told it was nothing to be done and that I would have to just come in return the product and try my purchase again. I went to this process a second time with similar difficulty. Eventually I ended up buy a computer I know I would return, thenI returned it and purchased ANOTHER ONE just to have something to work on, and then returned it a third time, and purchased my final device, once the trade in correction was processed. All because management can't think outside of the box and correct a problem caused by their own employees lack of knowledge, training, or both. The actual trade in value of the computer was decreased by over half once it arrived at the facility; a process that I was quoted would take 10 days, but actually took 1.5 months. Next stop: the Microsoft store. Clearly, they're working a bit harder to keep their customers these days.

I had an appointment at the "Genius" bar which was a waste of time. The person helping me barely took an interest in my issue and sent me off with incorrect information. If he had been at all interested he would have very easily discovered what he was suggesting wouldn't work. I'm going to the Bethesda store this time and hopefully will get lucky enough to have someone help me that knows what they're doing.

Completely wasted my time coming in for help. The guy helping was not helpful at all. I was not sure how to access my devices and he was not able to guide me on how to disconnect the devices. Or Mrs. and average time in apple store is more than two hours and when I have problem with my phone under warranty and they just gave me a refurbish phone when u just purchase my phone for less than 4 months, I have to call apple support more than 10 times in a year and back to the store more than 12 times a year in two locations and still have problem with my phone, can’t you guy just give me a good product at the first times

Horrible customer service. Was quoted a wait time of 1 hour and 15 minutes for a Genius Bar appointment. After 1 hour and 45 minutes I went in to see how much longer and was told it would be another hour and a half. When someone finally speaks to me I am told that I cannot get a new charging case for my AirPods because I need to serial number from the old case. I lost the case... hence why I needed a new one. Everyone was incredibly rude and dismissive there.

This isn't a rating for the store, although it does deserve a 5 star as well. But his rating goes out to the tech, Nancy who helped me out today. I was 5 minutes early for my Genius Bar appointment, they asked me to sit for a bit, and then directed me to Nancy. My MBP's keyboard and trackpad wasn't working. She was able to fix it in a jiffy! I'm glad I took it in today because I have several papers due for my classes soon. If it weren't for Nancy, I would've had to make excuses. So thanks so much Nancy! You're my life saver :)

Well my first experience was ok I walk up to an employee told him I wanted to purchase a phone he wrote the information down and said ok stand by the phones. I was there for a 1:00 ok cool another employee walk up to me and helped ok got my phone in 5:00 at least or less! My day to day phone had issues so I made an appointment so we will see what happens I might just go to someone that’s cheaper before I go back to this store for a repair. Came with an appointment to get my iPhone battery replaced. After checking in with an associate, I sat for about 10 minutes before I was taken to the Genius bar. I gave them my phone for repair, was given a ticket and told to return in an hour for my phone. When I came back, they had not finished repairing my phone and I waited about 20 minutes longer than they had anticipated, likely due to the holiday rush. After getting my phone back and paying for the repair, it works great, however take note that when you receive your phone, the battery will be almost dead, so bring your charger! Since this location is in a mall, it will likely take longer than you anticipate for some repairs to be made.

Horrible staff and I'm seeing from the other reviews I'm not alone on that. Of all the Apple stores I've been to, this one has the worst customer service. Don't waste your time here, even if you're coming down from 270. Just head over to the one on Bethesda Row. Unless you just need to pick up something and not need any help from them. Management needs to step up and fix their customer service problem.

I received "Sugar Coated Customer Support" today. The Customer Experience in at least this Apple store is not at all what Apple wants to be known for. Scenario: A walk-in hardware repair. It is an obvious physical trackpad hardware problem that takes no expertise to understand and makes my Mac very difficult to use. My options (during a business day): 1) Wait 3.5 hours for walk-in support 2) Schedule an appointment. Next available slot is in 5 days. There were at least four Apple employees there that were not actively engaged with customers. One or two of them appeared to be assigned to check-in only with iPads and earpieces. At least two others were there wanted to sell things and "help customers". Nobody was authorized to check in my Mac for a repair. The on top of that came the sugar coated customer support. I asked if there were any other options and stated that I was very willing to leave it for repair and come back another day as the Mac is too frustrating to use the way it is. They told me these were the only options, they can't even fit me in for 2 minutes to see the obvious problem. So I said I guess I'll come back in 5 days, making three trips to the store. I was told with a big smile "no problem, I was so happy to help you. Is there anything else I can do for you?" (Gag) This Apple store is more focused on the process than the customer experience! Montgomery Mall is an exciting, fun and bustling shopping center where it is very easy to find the store you’re looking for. In my case it was the Apple store Montgomery Mall where I bought an iPad Air 3. The experience at Apple store was immersive and busy and I was booted up and ready to go in an hour. The food court at Montgomery is also great. I look forward to my next trip to the Mall.

UPDATE to my previous ONE STAR review below. Since the issue below, one of their managers was able to get me a walk-in appointment. However, there was another issue with their staff not knowing how to effectively transfer my data from an external back up (time machine) to Mac after the reinstallation. I had to bring the machine home and get Apple Support to guide me through it. I would have imagined their in store tech staff would have been able to figure out such a basic trouble-shooting. Anyways, I'm upgrading the rating from 1 to 3 for that one manager who was able to take accountability and provide a solution after so much hassle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terrible customer service with ZERO accountability. You give a product to be repaired with two issues. They hand back the product with only one completed, but confirming both were fully completed only to find out they have completely missed their OWN notes on the 2nd issue. Called back to get the 2nd one done by bringing back the machine. Promised/confirmed that I'd be able to bring it anytime without having to schedule an appointment for the inconvenience. But they failed again and now waiting on the phone for an over an hour until they figure their stuff out! How terrible for a reputable company!

i am an Apple user and fan, but when I bough the new Apple MacBook Pro They didn’t tell me the ports had changed. I have used Apple for over 12 years and I went into the store with my broken old MacBook Pro and asked for the latest version and to please explain all the differences, which they told me about the retina and the new finger print print. I was extremely exited... until I realized none of my USB ports would work. Yes of course this is my own dumb fault! I should have asked about the side ports more in depth. For the first time ever in 12 years I feel I was “sold”. Instead of taken care of as a costumer. I hope you understand this review. I used to be loyal to you and Starbucks... now it is just Starbucks. Which is a fantastic company as well.

It would have been nice if you put that you were closed for renovation as soon as someone googled your store. I googled for hours open and drove all the way over there and walked half the mall to get to your store only to see that you were closed for renovation. Coming home I went into your website and there was the message that you are closed -- doesn't help people just wanting to see the hours open and your initial web post says you are open! Do not go to this place ! I will rate 0 star if I can. My phone cannot charge, and they kept me waiting for around three hours and then left me no option but to pay $400 for a new iphone. These guys didn't look busy. They just walk around and chat with each other. They call your turn whenever they like. Eventually, they took out a so-called "genius bar" and ran a silly boot-up test on my phone. If your phone cannot power on, they would ask you to pay several hundred for a new one. They didn't even look inside the hardware. These guys are not technicians to repair iphone but salesmen to sell their products. Take your phone to a repair shop and save you hundreds of dollars and time.

It’s great to visit here on a Tuesday (vs weekends). The first associate I met was rather assumptive and started giving me confusing information; however, the associate who handled my purchase, Matthew, was EXCELLENT: cleared all my questions, helped me activate and set up the new phone in just about 30 min — quite the contrary to the mediocre reviews I’ve read about the staff here. Ask for Matthew, if you are looking for true Apple experience.

Went there with an appointment and after checking in, waited another 30 minutes. When I was finally approached, the rep tried to be chummy but didn’t seem too interested in hearing the problem which I had with my Smart Keyboard for my iPad Pro, which wasn’t working half the time. I told him that i read from many notable tech sites that there was reportedly a warranty program just issued on these particular keyboards as long as it was within 3 years old, and that I wanted to verify if it was true. He talked to his manager for about 30 seconds and he said they didn’t hear about it so i’d have to pay for a replacement at the discounted price of $139. I have a friend in another state who had the same issue and got one replaced no questions asked at the Genius Bar. I went outside the store and contacted Apple support where I found a rep who was helpful and directed me to his manager. She said she heard about this program and would help me out. Boom. Got a new one. Very disappointed with the workers at this store. Made me waste 3 hours and gas for something they could’ve put a little more effort into to find out. Next time i’m driving to another store even if it’s further out.

Just bought an iphone 7. The salesperson was deaf and we communicated through a word document on a macbook. I'm a long time apple user and this was easily the best experience I had shopping at an apple store. It was to the point and easy. I was out holding my phone in 10 minutes. I was delighted to see an apple store employing a person with a disability, in a sales position no less. If only I had a way to rate the salesperson, instead, I'm rating the store for a job well done.

These people in this store are liars believe it or believe but seriously I went to my appointment to see if my screen can be “fixed” not run diagnostics on my phone the so called “Genius Bar” dude was running all these diagnostics but that’s not what I was there for! The manager there is supppper rude. We went to fix two phones. One of them they couldn’t fix and the other one the manager told us that “I will not make my team fix anything for you “ all of that because we asked him why they couldn’t fix the first iPhone. That Indian manager after waiting almost 2 hours after we made an appointment and wasting time with his technician. He said he will not fix the other phone. By the way, the first phone we wanted only to change the battery and the other phone that no body looked at because that Indian manager said that he will not let his technician fix anything for us is the sound is bad on it. To be honest I never went to any place that had a rude manager like this manager. Managers should solve the problem or at least talk a little nice. If you want to fix anything in apple my opinion is to never go to this place. The people in the front that help you buy things are nice but if you call a manager, and that Indian manager come to you just know that he won’t solve anything and he will kick you out of the store.

I think 1 star is too generous rating for this store. I would give them zero star if possible. Terribly rude customer service. The supervisor or manager, whatever they call, is worse. There was a problem when pick up iPhone6 with inconsistent information in their system compared to what AT&T has. The salesperson refused to talk AT&T rep on the phone so my wife was calling AT&T. After hang up, a guy showed up and told my wife to go back to the end of line for another assistance. He said "You stand in the line or you don't get the phone today!" He revealed himself as a supervisor or manager, whatever. My wife was trying to explain what was happening but he said "You were not ready at your turn. I don't want to argue with you, anymore." This is not an acceptable attitude. I am glad to know that I am not the only one who feels the same way. I would drive 10-15 more miles to receive better service.

This place is a nightmare. Every single time I've come here over the last 10 years has been terrible. To begin with, it is always packed. That just sets the stage for things to go wrong. Secondly, there always seems to be either way too little staff or way too many staff. Either the employees are running around pulling their hair out, or there's a ton of them just lingering around playing on their iPads and watching the customers become increasingly angry. My guess is that they have a bunch of employees who are supposed to greet you and point you in a direction, and then they only have a couple staff who can actually help you with a problem. From what I've seen and experienced, they need at least twice as many employees doing the problem solving. It looks like they only have a couple registers; well, they need to get twice as many registers then. It's that bad. I have never seen this place anything but chaotic. The service is expensive as hell for the wait, and I have literally never had any of my issues solved by going to this Apple store. In fact, after my last visit, I just went to a local Mac specialist and had them help me. I live 45 minutes away from the place and so I make an appointment to go in. They have never been running on time and I always end up waiting or having to leave because they have to cancel my appointment after I get there. Lastly, the staff members themselves seem to look down their nose at you. Some of them are nice, don't get me wrong, but I've only met maybe one or two staff members that seemed to actually care about what they were doing. If this was the only problem, I wouldn't care so much. But I think the way this place is run is what causes 90% of the bad customer experience. If there's any way you can avoid going to this store, I'd try that first. It's going to be much less stressful if you call Apple and wait on hold for half an hour, than it will be going into this store and waiting in a crowd for an hour.
