Disappointed that Device Pitstop techs are so unsure of themselves that they won't break the screen to replace a Nexus 6P battery, that they'd forgo simply replacing its battery and charge extra for a screen that doesn't need to be replaced. Hire confident techs - not ones that would rather break the screen and charge the customer an extra $100 dollars for a screen that isn't broken in the first place while lying to your customer "it has to be replaced to replace the battery." The only way you'd break the screen is if you did something wrong, which lies upon the technician, not the customer. I'm a tech myself (and a repeat customer of 8 years), so I'd rather sidestep the liability of breaking my own device and leave it into the hands of actual professionals. This company has really gone downhill.

They gave me the best possible deal. When the computer had some small issues, short battery life, needed to be hard reset a few times, MacBook Pro 2009. They replaced battery and put my hard drive in a nicer laptop. Same specs all brand new! Best customer service around! Great business practices would 100% recommend!

I've been there a few times--both, to get a new phone. The first time I didn't ask them to charge the phone to make sure it's okay (would DEFINITELY recommend doing this), and my phone worked but had a few problems that I would have noticed right away. The second time, I did request that they charge it, and the sales staff was very helpful to go through several phones to find the right one. Overall, the prices are okay, and the sales staff is helpful.

When I dropped off my device I was told it would cost $300 and take 3-5 days. Due to several difficulties the store had, it took almost a month. Throughout my wait I was never informed of the difficulties or changes to my order unless I personally returned to the store. Not only did it take almost a month, they offered me a $50 dollar discount for the wait, which was nice but then they came back and said the price of the computer part changed. Making the price $350 which nullified my discount keeping it at $300. When they finally finished it, there was still an error with the installation of the part on the computer, which I saw immediately, they said it would take an hour and they would inform me when it would be finished, I never heard anything. I would never send any of my devices here again nor would I recommend this store to any of my friends or family.

Be very careful took in a laptop with a "bad" hard drive. Got it back onlu for it to do the same thing again. So the replaced my hard drive and put a bad copy of Windows on it for the real problem was a bad bios battery. Took it to a friends kid he fixed it for 50 bucks well under what they changed. He replaced Ed the battery and got Dell to send the oem install disk. Be careful they do not know what they are doing.

I feel very ripped off by this place. Got my computer fixed LESS than 2 months ago (mid-late August) and was debating selling it at the time. I was offered $75 on the spot and decided to get it fixed instead. I dropped $250-$300 getting it fixed because the tech said it would increase the value when I decided to sell it. One of my complaints before handing it over was that it sounded like a leaf blower, tech said upgrading hard drive would fix this issue. Got it back and it still made the noise but worked perfectly other than that. I ended up deciding I wanted to sell, REMINDER: it has been less than 2 months that I, a working college student paid to have it fixed to increase sell value, and instead of at least making what I put into it, offered me $20 cash for a working laptop........ I am shocked. That is the price of a childs toy. Really pissed off and totally screwed over. Paid my savings to have a piece of junk fixed. Lost my business for sure.

I will never return here. I paid over $200 to have my computer fixed only to have it break again in 6 months. The problem "fixed" was not the real problem and I was told there was no way to test the bios battery which is what was wrong with the computer in the first place. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

I don't understand this place. They encourage you to bring a device in "even if it's just for parts" to sell it. I brought in a netbook that just needed a new battery, had light scrapes on the bottom and had no OS since I had wiped it beforehand, and the guy working acted like I was trying to sell him a cinderblock. EDIT: I am not sure what's going on but I was never offered a store credit...I was told they had "no use" for my device.

I walked in cold with a missing key on a MacBook Pro on a Saturday morning. Apple Store wanted to send the laptop to a factory authorized repair facility for a min charge of >$300 and no guarantee of how long it would be out of my hands. Device Pitstop fixed it in 5 minutes, despite there being other patrons in the store. AND they refused to charge me. I'll be back when I need something done on a computer or phone. 5 stars all around!!!! This place has such a highly knowledgable staff to go along with their huge inventory! Even with there being a lot of people in the store I was greeted and helped within seconds. I had questions about gaming laptops as I am very new to it. Multiple people ended up joining in the conversation offering insight from everyone and not just a biased perspective! The prices here cannot be beat, and they offer warranties with their products too. I will be back here for anything I need computer/laptop wise since we ultimately made the decision to go with a MacBook for personal use and I am going to be building a desktop for gaming. Looks like ill be making multiple trips but I totally trust these guys to get me the best gear! Do not shop anywhere else! Save yourself the time and money and check out device pistop!

My iPhone6 screen was badly cracked and then water got inside of the screen. There was huge black blotches all over and I couldn't see a thing. I brought my phone to Device Pitstop and within 15 minutes the phone was literally just as I bought it a couple years prior. Jarrod helped me and was so kind, thorough and highly skilled as well. They even helped with a voice recognition and Siri problem I was having after I left with the fixed phone. They are horrible to their employees. They went through 10 or more employees this in 2012 do to a bad work environment and I can name them all. Two more left already this year. They pay low wages and promise they have good bonuses when they hire you but they are actually unrealistic and when you get close to the bonuses the owner raises the amount you have to get to get the same low bonus. He even said that even tho there's no insurance that he would help out if it was needed. I had to have surgery and he did not help at all. I was also told that I would be manager and but he was just saying that to get me to work there sense I had another job at the time and wasn't sure if I wanted to quit or not. The owner Josh Powell would specifically tell me to lie to the customers and try to get as much money out of them as possible. If a computer came back under warranty he wanted us to try to convince them it was their fault and not covered under the warranty no mater what. They are also using cds with cracks on them. That are illegal to have. The owner and the workers would also make fun of and curse at each other all the time its a very hostile place to work. After seeing this post the owner called me and threatened me to take this down.

I inherited an iPhone with a nasty scar on its back. I purchased a replacement for it and took it in to these guys fully expecting to pay an arm and a leg for them to install it. They took it from me and not 5 minutes later handed it back to me good as new. They didn't charge me a dime. It took me completely by surprise. My son gave my laptop a drink of coffee, he poured so much that it was running out of the heat vents. My $1000 laptop turned off and was suddenly precious scrap metal. I called the guys at Device Pit Stop and they said they could get right on it. I dropped my laptop off at 1:45 and received a call by 4:30 that day that it was fixed. The bill was only $95 bucks. My expectations were greatly exceeded! They have a clean, well lit store with a nice ambiance and the latest devices and laptops for sale. In all three cases they fixed the issues in a timely and courteous manner. This place is okay to buy used equipment from but do not I repeat do not allow them to repair your laptop. Two years ago I brought my laptop into them for a simple problem, and by mistake they reformatted my hard drive! I lost everything! All my grandbabies pictures, everything! And now today the same thing has happened to my daughter. They destroyed her hard drive and she lost all her pictures of the first six years of her child. Find someplace else for repairs please, before this happens to you.

Best place to get a used laptop and not have to worry about it crashing as soon as you get it home. They also have great pricing on fixing smart phones and tablets. Check around and you won't find better pricing for the quality. I bought a used Macbook Pro from here in late summer of 2017. I was told that it was in great working condition and that it could be updated to the new OS. At the time i did not know much about Mac's, so when i got it home it would only stay on for a minute off charge, come to find out the battery was dead and needed to be replaced, i also noticed that the computer could not be updated to the new OS. I will say when i took it back they did change out my battery for a slightly used one that was better (although still not great). At the time i did not think not being able to update would be a huge problem, but it turned out to be. This has made be very nervous about buying a newer Mac from here. I'm pretty sure they knew the old battery was bad and sold it to me anyway. I would advise anyone shopping here to research the computers in stock and not rely on the employees to be honest. Also the last time i stopped in they seemed to be overpriced, especially with the Macbook Air's

Went in to look for a laptop and was hounded by a salesman. I could tell he was nervous and didn't seem to know too much about the PCs (Might have been new) but no matter how many times I said I was just looking around at the moment he kept coming back and trying to get me to buy whatever I was looking at at that moment. Went into the store. Explained I was moving to South America for a year and needed a reliable laptop to work. They sold me a older model Dell UBL for $350. Had to bring it back once (from frankfort) because the battery pack was no good. They installed a not factory pack and dropped the price $50 bucks. Worked OK for about three months. Now I'm in Ecuador and I've got purple ribbons down the left half of the LCD monitor. So I'm stuck having to repair or rebuy here. It is entirely possible they intentionally gave me a bad unit knowing I would soon be unable to return for repairs.

I have used this company for many years and in all the many purchases made, I have never been steered in the wrong direction. They are truly a great and honourable company to work with and I trust them completely for all my computer needs. I would highly recommend them without any hesitation! I have since moved to Virginia and will still drive to Lexington, Ky to make purchases from them! Is it worth the five and half hour drive? Yes!!!!

Brought in an old HP/Compaq laptop that would no longer boot, they examined it for free. Bad news, CPU was dead/dying and they wanted ~$200 to replace. You can find a replace CPU for about 1/4 of that price. They did have a good selection of used laptops at nice prices.

I walk in and the staff is "airing out the smoke" with a door open, which is a terrible sign for an electronics store. Soldering makes some smoke, but if you run a business where you solder daily, there SHOULD be some ventilation in place beyond opening the front door. You know what makes a lot of smoke? Ruining someone's battery. Anyway, after telling me to come into the store, the man at the front looks at my laptop for about 45 seconds before telling me I would have to leave it in for a diagnosis, $50 and up to 2 days. This 50 can apply to repairs after the diagnosis is complete. If you are going to apply it to the repair, why not charge it later in the first place. This fee is obviously in place so that customers feel like they are obliged to get the repair after their diagnosis. The man at the front also told me this fee could apply to a data transfer and replacement. I can do a data transfer for free on my own, as can anyone with google and 5 bucks for a usb or sata cable. That was just insulting to hear. And if anyone buys a laptop from a store like this, they are making a HUGE mistake. There will be extra fees, and the store has to make a cut, so the price you pay here will be too high. If you are reading this and considering a new laptop, just do a bit of research on your own, and buy from tigerdirect or newegg. Don't trust this glorified mall kiosk.

As someone who works in retail and customer service, I tend to be quite harsh when it comes to rating businesses; however, I am beyond impressed and please with the service I received at Device Pitstop. Not only did the staff greet me when I walked in the door, but they were quick to assess my needs and show me the phone options in my price range and service provider. Also, my phone did NOT want to cooperate at all with the setup and exchange. Yet, they went above and beyond to make sure the phone was working and ready to go before I left the doors. So I bought a computer from these guys 3 months ago. Didn't do their extended warranty. I understand that is my fault. So, when my computer started acting bad yesterday (not moving past microsoft welcome screen). I felt that i had screwed myself. Called them up and asked how much they charge to diagnose the problem. Was told $50 diagnose and that would go toward fixing it. I explained what was going on over the phone and he suggested that it might just need a clean reinstall of microsoft 7. They would wave the $50 diagnose fee and charge me $100 for this. Seemed too high, so I started looking into it myself. Notice that he said RE install. Well, to my surprise, after playing around with different diagnoses, my computer informs me that the Microsoft 7 that is currently installed is "not genuine". Hmmm.... It clearly reads on their tag (which is still on computer) that the OS is indeed Windows 7. Something here seems fishy. What actually did they install when selling it to me???? Lesson learned. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. I feel that I was personally misled and cheated. Buyer Beware.

I had a soda spill on a computer, and they were able to transfer the data to another store computer for a great price. Stopped in to see about getting my Lenovo laptop fixed when the wifi quit working. They weren't very busy but the tech/salesman only looked at it for about thirty seconds before telling me he thought it was the motherboard and would probably cost me over $300! My Mother recently gave us her used HP laptop mostly for our 16yo autistic son to use to make & edit his videos. He looks forward to getting on it every day after school VERY VERY MUCH. All of a sudden the thing wouldn’t come on when he pushed the power button! He panicked, I had ZERO clue how to find the problem (let alone FIX it) so I panicked BECAUSE in a couple weeks he was scheduled to go into the hospital for a 3-day long test where he had to literally stay in bed for 90% of the day. The ONLY way we were gonna get thru it was to let him get on the laptop as long as he wanted. My brother-in-law suggested Device Pitstop but I didn’t think there was ANY chance we could afford how much I fig’d it was gonna cost to get it running again AND in time for the hospital but gave y’all a try. Turned out to be a SIMPLE ISSUE (no way I can remember what it WAS) that only cost FIFTEEN BUCKS to fix!!! So, including the cost for them to diagnose the problem, the bill was only $65.00 and not ONE unnecessary thing was added to “pad the total”!!! So I was seriously relieved AND was able to get back a perfectly working laptop in time to take w/us to my son’s hospital stay! Thank you guys SO much for your knowledgeable, timely and HONEST service. We’ll definitely be back
