A magnificent, beautiful location, with expensive phones and plenty of accessories for them. Certainly, you'll find room to charge your phone or rest up on a journey of walking, but don't expect pleasantries or a reprieve from a $279 repair if you happen to scratch your phone out-of-warranty. Wait times are to be expected for this location. Most staff are nice.

I walked in on a Tuesday at 3:20 after being sat I ended up waiting 40 minutes for no one to help me. It wasn’t “packed” as it was raining..8-10 people went through the table I was at before I just got up. I went in for a diagnostic on my phone which isn’t like some big crazy task that needs some specialty person to do.

Right next to the Michigan River, the architecture is awesome. It is like the Apple from the Fifth Avenue in New York on the outside, but it looks much more amazing due to its glass walls facing the river, and a giant screen that advertises Apple products. Jaw dropping view! Near the huge Trump Tower, you may see the boats going through the river. Courteous salesperson will guide your experience through the store. This is certainly the best Apple store I have ever been to and I strongly most certainly recommend it! Enjoy!

Our law firm runs on Macs and was at this newer Apple store recently. I was very impressed with the service and how easily the checkout process was. Also enjoyed the view of the Chicago River from the store.

After only a few short months of owning my MacBook Air, the display is starting to give out. There are several red lights flickering randomly on my screen, so my husband made an appointment for us visit the Genius Bar to get help. Despite making this reservation ahead of time and arriving early, I did not get to work with an employee until ~40 minutes after my appointment time was supposed to start. I get it - this store is in downtown Chicago - I expected it to be busy, but no one even stopped by to assure us that someone else would be around. When an employee finally came by, she offered an explantion for what was going on and said they'd need to ship it off for repair. She noted that there were several scratches/bumps on corners of the computer (the recycled aluminum is beat up from being inside of a bag I bring with me on my commute everyday), and essentially said that I would need to pay $500 to have my computer fixed. I thought this was absolutely absurd given that I had spent so much on AppleCare+. She replied, "oh, you have AppleCare+?" She hadn't even looked into my coverage before making stating such an objective quote. She dismissed any of my explanations about the corners of the computer and was ready to move onto the next customer. I'm thoroughly disappointed with the service at this store and will not be returning again. Management should get a better grip on how their customers are being treated if they want to continue to represent such a high caliber company.

It was not busy. Walk in time available: 1 hour and a half wait time. You can buy anything instantly but the “geniuses” require advance notice. Come on Apple I have only one life don’t make me wait when I’m willing to give you money. I can’t wait that long. At least the view is beautiful

Just needed a battery changed and they did that. Then the phone would not work properly. Now I need to either return or go to another apple store. "We'll pay for the repair." Wendy tells me. But I live 2 hours from the closest store. No other options...like they are doing me a favor. Apple broke it! What other cell phone manufacturers would you recommend?

I was here to pick up a phone for my friend. It was a smooth experience. No complaints. The store itself is one of the classy apple stores I have ever seen. River front with a big glass with an amphitheater-like construction makes it an awesome experience. You can even simply go for a visit here considering the style of the building itself.

Building is gorgeous, great location on the river. This store gets a lot of tourists and window shoppers. As a result, it’s a little difficult to find a free employee to help you out when you actually want to buy something. The staff are nice enough. I was trying to buy a new apple watch band and they were able to find the one i wanted in the back when i noticed it wasn’t out on display. They also let me try the band on before i bought it, which I appreciated.

If I were able to give 0 stars I would. Terrible service. Store manager Jason was rude and unprofessional. Huge waste of time. I've been here twice for over 2 hours each time and not gotten the issue resolve. Do not waste your time at this location. Very disappointed.

Worth visiting. Right in the heart of downtown, the visual appeal is great, and it is an Apple store! But are they really geniuses at the genius bar? Some of them seem to have lower than average IQs...or maybe it is a lack of EQ. I wasn't impressed with the technical help...but maybe what was lacking in social skills was made up in technical wizardry?

Apple Store is an Apple Store. Was there on the day the new iPhone XS and Apple Watch we’re out, of course none were available for the walk-ins. Staffs were friendly but the store gets the 5 star rating for its location and the Sir Norman Foster design. At night, it looks like a shining piece of jewel by the Chicago River. Stunning.

I had to bring in my grandmother's phone because she somehow managed to lock herself out of it to the point I couldn't do anything with it anymore. Patrick assisted me right away, cleaned my phone and checked out a small issue I was having with my own phone while I was waiting for hers to do whatever it needed to. I love coming to this store. Sometimes I just come in here to browse around and see what's new! When you first walk in, you don't even feel like you're in a store. The huge glass windows allow you to see right out to the river and Michigan Avenue- it's quite a unique experience. Once you get downstairs, the Geniuses are there to greet you. They'll ask about the reason for your visit and put you in the queue for Genius help. The geniuses are all very capable and pleasant to work with- I've never walked away feeling unsatisfied. Keep up the good work Michigan Ave Apple!

The place is fancy. They usually have some artsy event or the other going on almost all the time. It's an Apple store alright but it also has a bunch of non-apple stuff (like drones) too. Again, the place is fancy so I felt super out of place when I just walked in straight from school.

I’m traveling, and in Chicago for a few days. I stopped by the Apple store because my son has shattered the back glass on his phone. I schedule repairs. I let the “genius” know we were taking a boat tour of the city, and let him know what time. He schedules an appointment and tells me there’s a one hour grace period trip the time they text us, to get there and check in. I get the text at 7:36 saying the Genius Bar is ready for us. We are still on the boat, but turning to come back and dock. I get a text at 7:41 saying my appointment is cancelled. I can not reschedule, as there are no appointments left, when I TRIED to schedule our appointment when I knew we would be back from the tour. So basically, we were lied to, and because of that- cannot get the repairs made.

I expected to be here all day for a broken phone that I purchased second hand and an apple watch that no longer turned on. This all seems complicated and open to lots of opportunity for confusion. I went on a Sunday, anticipating smaller crowds downtown because it was a Sunday. I got that wrong. It was jam packed, but I was able to be seen by someone almost immediately. They did pass me around to several representatives, but each one had a specific task and it all moved quickly like a well oiled machine. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. All of it was resolved without any headache and in less than an hour. I would call the whole thing a success.

Store is an architectural marvel. Not an Apple fan though. But glass overly that was built in the public space is not easily to be ignored, if you appreciate architecture. As for store experience. Very good and quick service. My wife was quickly served with a phone replacement and data storage transfer.

Great staff...walked in at 7:40 with an iPhone X that had a phantom screen problem. Left at 9:05 with a new screen and all problems solved. A number of very nice and professional young techno folks helped me along the way and to a one they were great. Well done!

i always wanted to go to an US Apple store and buy me a new phone and i managed to do that in Chicago. vey nice design, loved it the minute i entered. There were hundred of people inside, i thought it will take me hours before i will get served, but to my surprise, the purchase process was done all in aprox 10-15 minutes. Some sales representative brought my new phone, helped me to transfer my data from the old one and i was ready with everything! cool experience! #applerulz

The buildings architecture is gorgeous. With glass overlooking the chicago river, this is certainly on of the worse apple stores you will ever visit. I bent my iphone 8 on the back, not sure how i did it, but it didnt look hard to fix. They didnt fix it though but my local distributer of heavenly goods did. Congratulations Osama Svensson. This apple store does not have a public restroom and there are no restrooms available near by. You may have to walk a mile to get to chipotle or any other restaurant near by and buy a meal to get the passcode from them to use the restroom. However due to the long wait in the apple store without a restroom will make you restless. The Genius Bar employees can take you pass the exist and to the restroom door, but you can not go pass the exits door at the end of the showroom. There are couple of Genius Bar security standing there always to stop someone from using the restroom as a public restroom. I personally feel they must verify the Genius Bar Authorization document and the date on it to allow people to use the restroom. The Genius Bar experts are always busy and can not guide you to the restroom.

The building's architecture is gorgeous. But, I didn't have the best experience with their "genius bar" staff. I bent my iPhone 8 plus on the back, not sure how I did it but it didn't look hard to fix. I originally thought the phone would need to be unscrewed and bent back to place. Being a computer science major I knew this wasn't a hard problem. After going into Apple and talking with one of their "genius bar" staff members he didn't even really analyze my phone before stating it was "catastrophic damage." I told the member that my problem wasn't rocket science and that I could fix it if I had the right tools. He replied, "well I don't want to fix it because the phone can shatter and glass will get in my fingers, the only fix for this is to get a new phone which would cost 399$ plus tax." I laugh because what the hell is a "genius bar" if the members aren't even knowledgeable about the hardware itself. Perhaps Apple should give better training or hire knowledgeable people in this filed. I ended up taking my phone to a pop stand place called iPlace and the man fixed it in under 15 minutes and told me I didn't even need to pay since all he ended up doing was taking the phone apart and bent it back. Mind blowing how much Apple will try to rip you off. Very disappointed.

Jaw dropping view! Near the huge Trump Tower, you may see the boats going through the river. Courteous salesperson will guide your experience through the store. “Are they throwing a party?” This is my private joke whenever I see Apple stores crowded with people browsing, buying or just craving, and inquiring, or demanding service. No, there are no free drinks offered. This beautiful store being slamming packed on a Friday night I regretted leaving the shopping for my last night in Chicago. But the usual Apple-nian magical transaction happened next — I actually was helped within five minutes after leaving my name on the waiting list, and since knowing beforehand what I wanted, it took less than 10 minutes before I left the shop with their pretty white bag of goods, without having faced a long line at any cashier. As usual the attendant was knowledgeable, and in a good mood despite the swarm of costumers. Last but not least, Forster and Partners design and implantation of this gorgeous store is pristine, and the building, like a luminous amphitheater lightly landed at the margins of the Chicago river, deserves a visit on its own.

Worth a visit even just for a look. Great location on the river. Innovative building design. Helpful staff who tried but were unable to remove the fluff preventing the lightning plug from fully inserting to charge an iPhone. But that’s ok as it gave me the idea and I was later able to clean out the socket with the aid of adapting a drinking straw onto the end of a vacuum cleaner. Cleaned up nice and works again. Thanks apple, at least for the idea.

Repair of one single sticky key from butterfly keyboard took me 18 DAYS. My Touch ID was broken due to the repair and they replaced my perfect logic board with one with a defective T2 processor. Now after 18 days of waiting I finally get my laptop back, which crashes 7 times in 6 hours due to the new logic board but interestingly passes all their hardware tests. They don't think it's a hardware issue so my expensive AppleCare+ doesn't help at all. Fine. Maybe I'll switch to a PC instead.

The building's architecture is gorgeous. But, I didn't have the best experience with their "genius bar" staff. I bent my iPhone 8 plus on the back, not sure how I did it but it didn't look hard to fix. I originally thought the phone would need to be unscrewed and bent back to place. Being a computer science major I knew this wasn't a hard problem. After going into Apple and talking with one of their "genius bar" staff members he didn't even really analyze my phone before stating it was "catastrophic damage." I told the member that my problem wasn't rocket science and that I could fix it if I had the right tools. He replied, "well I don't want to fix it because the phone can shatter and glass will get in my fingers, the only fix for this is to get a new phone which would cost 399$ plus tax." I laugh because what the hell is a "genius bar" if the members aren't even knowledgeable about the hardware itself. Perhaps Apple should give better training or hire knowledgeable people in this filed. I ended up taking my phone to a pop stand place called iPlace and the man fixed it in under 15 minutes and told me I didn't even need to pay since all he ended up doing was taking the phone apart and bent it back. Mind blowing how much Apple will try to rip you off. Very disappointed.

I recently had an extremely unhappy experience with both my MacBook Pro 15’s (2016 model) butterfly keyboard and the customer service process in trying to fix the issue through the Apple’s recent Quality Program. The keyboard has been giving me problems for a long time. Keys randomly become sticky and/or repeat. I’ve went in and tried to have individual keys fixed, which only temporarily solves the problem. When the Quality Program came out, I was extremely excited for the opportunity to completely replace the keyboard at $0 cost, which would hopefully fix the issue. Unfortunately, Apple’s return policy is that if they find anything else is wrong with the computer (no matter how minor or irrelevant the issue is), they have to completely fix everything before giving the computer back to you. When they were checking my MBP to fix, they found a small stain on the inner back side of the computer. This stain had no adverse effect on the computer (it was working properly) and was irrelevant to the task of fixing the keyboard (it was in no way attached to the keyboard at all). Unfortunately, because of Apple’s policy, they would need to replace/fix the parts that were stained if they were to replace the keyboard. This came at a far from free cost of around $1500. I could buy a new MBP with this money. There was absolutely no way around this, and no way to reason with the customer service staff or the company. We feel like we are being cheated, especially since the keyboard issue was a design problem. We now face the choice of paying a lot of money to fix the issue or living with a faulty keyboard for a couple of more years.

I love coming to this store. Sometimes I just come in here to browse around and see what's new! When you first walk in, you don't even feel like you're in a store. The huge glass windows allow you to see right out to the river and Michigan Avenue- it's quite a unique experience. Once you get downstairs, the Geniuses are there to greet you. They'll ask about the reason for your visit and put you in the queue for Genius help. The geniuses are all very capable and pleasant to work with- I've never walked away feeling unsatisfied. Keep up the good work Michigan Ave Apple!

This apple store does not have a public restroom and there are no restrooms available near by. You may have to walk a mile to get to chipotle or any other restaurant near by and buy a meal to get the passcode from them to use the restroom. However due to the long wait in the apple store without a restroom will make you restless. The Genius Bar employees can take you pass the exist and to the restroom door, but you can not go pass the exits door at the end of the showroom. There are couple of Genius Bar security standing there always to stop someone from using the restroom as a public restroom. I personally feel they must verify the Genius Bar Authorization document and the date on it to allow people to use the restroom. The Genius Bar experts are always busy and can not guide you to the restroom.

Building is gorgeous, great location on the river. This store gets a lot of tourists and window shoppers. As a result, it’s a little difficult to find a free employee to help you out when you actually want to buy something. The staff are nice enough. I was trying to buy a new apple watch band and they were able to find the one i wanted in the back when i noticed it wasn’t out on display. They also let me try the band on before i bought it, which I appreciated.

Great people great service. I bought my mac thru craigslist and had problems about a month after. I didn't know where to turn to fix. I figured it's an apple product let's let them look at it and fix it. I was expecting to pay for the service.since I was not the original owner. Apple Store is an Apple Store. Was there on the day the new iPhone XS and Apple Watch we’re out, of course none were available for the walk-ins. Staffs were friendly but the store gets the 5 star rating for its location and the Sir Norman Foster design. At night, it looks like a shining piece of jewel by the Chicago River. Stunning.

I’m traveling, and in Chicago for a few days. I stopped by the Apple store because my son has shattered the back glass on his phone. I schedule repairs. I let the “genius” know we were taking a boat tour of the city, and let him know what time. He schedules an appointment and tells me there’s a one hour grace period trip the time they text us, to get there and check in. I get the text at 7:36 saying the Genius Bar is ready for us. We are still on the boat, but turning to come back and dock. I get a text at 7:41 saying my appointment is cancelled. I can not reschedule, as there are no appointments left, when I TRIED to schedule our appointment when I knew we would be back from the tour. So basically, we were lied to, and because of that- cannot get the repairs made.

Terrible customer service: so disappointed in Apple. I used to be a loyal Apple customer; now I understand why so many intelligent people have sworn off the brand altogether. They lost my business today: there is no longer a reason to pay a high premium for a brand that has evidently stopped caring about its customers. I am notifying the Better Business Bureau, and if you have had similarly poor experiences, so should you.

We went to pick up AirPods which we ordered online, it’s not so busy but the staff just chatting with each other, after some time looking all the staff we approached a girl and she acted like she is doing a favor for us. Are you serious? We just came to pick up my order. Restaurant food pickups are much more welcoming than these guys.

An absolutely beautiful apple store. I highly recommend checking out their calendar of local events. They do really fun classes about taking photos with your phone.

Really bad service experience! Looking to buy a phone but no one came to assist us and when we approach a clerk asking for help he ignored us .Around the store you could clearly see many people as confused as us waiting for assistance but no one came.

Manager had me sit and wait 2 hours, despite making an appointment, to tell me something they could have told me immediately; Buy another Apple TV for full price because the one we sold you is garbage and it’s a few days past the manufacturer’s warranty. APPLE SUCKS!

I’ve never been to an apple store until recently. I walked in lost as to where the actual store was. Maybe there should be signs or something lol. But overall it was an amazing experience. The workers were helpful and nice. It only took 3 days to fix my phone.

Went here to pick up an online order as scheduled. It was hard to get any customer service to begin with, and finally when I got someone's attention they guided me to some chaotic unorganized table where pickups are handled. Next customer service associate informed me that there is a "pickup review" on my order and that I'd need to contact customer service to fix it... Are the apple employees in store part of customer service??? He advised me to go to "myapple" to have it fixed. I don't know what is myapple... And asking for more help just didn't seem to get me anywhere so I just ended leaving without the order.

With glass walls overlooking the Chicago River, this is certainly one of the nicer Apple stores you will ever go to. There's a large area for classes/demonstrations as well as generally spacious layout. As one might expect from a popular store, service can be a bit hard to find and you may need to flag down an employee for help.

Spent 15 minutes here, not a single one of the green shirted techs even said hello. Many of them were engaged with each other, but not with the customers. Not sure what the APPLE store experience is supposed to be like, but it was unimpressive at the Michigan Ave. Location.The picture was taken with an Android phone btw.

Went to Apple store with my friend after disappointing at Lincoln Park store(You can read my review). Thanks to D’Angelo. I hope I got his name right. He was very helpful during the visit and he was explaining functions of Apple Watch very easily, so even my friend bought an Apple Watch!

I just bought a new IPhone XS Max. It took much longer than expected. But that is not my complaint. It’s the perfunctory treatment I received from one of the Apple experts— Gustaf! Not only was he indifferent to the problem I was having he was condescending! Luckily, Adrian was diligent and understanding. Although she was not the designated expert, she found a solution to my problem. Gustaf attitude was appalling! Apple should give him training on how to treat a customer, not to mention a customer than had just spent 1400 on a phone. Adrian saved the day. Thank you Adrian. If you go into the Apple store on Michigan avoid Gustaf!

Worth visiting. Right in the heart of downtown, the visual appeal is great, and it is an Apple store! But are they really geniuses at the genius bar? Some of them seem to have lower than average IQs...or maybe it is a lack of EQ. I wasn't impressed with the technical help...but maybe what was lacking in social skills was made up in technical wizardry?

The buildings architecture is gorgeous. With glass overlooking the chicago river, this is certainly on of the worse apple stores you will ever visit. I bent my iphone 8 on the back, not sure how i did it, but it didnt look hard to fix. They didnt fix it though but my local distributer of heavenly goods did. Congratulations Osama Svensson. You did it! You cant beatbox here!

Store is an architectural marvel. Not an Apple fan though. But glass overly that was built in the public space is not easily to be ignored, if you appreciate architecture. As for store experience. Very good and quick service. My wife was quickly served with a phone replacement and data storage transfer.
