Fantastic service - my laptop got wet and I was worried about my data. I had hundreds of family photos, videos and important research data stored on it. This place is AMAZING!!! Went into the store with 45 minutes till close and the owner was still willing to help us with our computer issues. We had been locked out of the computer due to being in safe mode and not knowing the password. He went in and helped us not only get out of safe mode but also took care of the viruses that had gotten on our computer. He was super nice, super knowledgeable, and super helpful. He saved our computer and helped us 30 minutes past close. Not only that, he was about to do this service for us FOR FREE. We weren't going to let him do that so we gave him some money for his time, effort, and customer service. This is now our go to computer shop!!

Bring it to steven, he is a man of his word and he won't try to take money from you. If your PC is beyond help, he will tell you that and then help you get what you need. It’s been a bunch of years since I ran a repair bench service myself, so I know how urgent repairs can be for some people, especially professionals like me who need their computer fixed ASAP. Steve was relaxed and helpful, and affordable! He immediately helped me. On a Saturday afternoon, a couple hours after dropping the PC off, he phoned and said it was ready. He charged me a fair price, I gave him a tip. I highly recommend Steve at Boise Computer Store.

This time another company's online tech (I live an over an hour from town, so I was hoping not to have to take it in) turned a minor issue on my computer into it not booting up at all. Boise Computer Store installed a new drive, backed up and restored all my data, reinstalled drivers, etc for an very reasonable price. They even replaced my power supply and non-working DVD drive and only charged for the parts with no additional labor. It's refreshing to find a business that has good, old fashioned service!!!!!

Fun fact there are actually 3 Boise Computer Store business accounts, only one of which is actually being managed, so this is the only way I can respond to you. It looks like you edited your post since yesterday, so I know you received my voice mail, but you still won't call and talk to me about it, and you're still not telling the truth. Yesterday Stephanie's review said that she had the original hard drive replacement done LESS than a year before it went bad. You also said we charged you $120. On top of that you completely changed your wording about your touch pad. I really don't know why you felt it necessary to fabricate lies in order to maliciously attack my store, but I will put the record straight: One year and 8 months ago...that would be 20 months. We replaced a bad hard drive on your lime green Dell laptop. At that time, it was noted that your touchpad was going bad and was very unresponsive. We suggested you use a USB mouse and you'd noted that you were aware of the problem, even back then. Boise Computer Store puts a one year parts and service warranty on new hard drive replacements. I haven't checked around town, but I bet that's more than, or equal to, anyone else in town. No matter what way you look at it, 20 months is not less than one year. When you brought your Dell laptop in for service again just recently, you said it wasn't detecting the OS and that it had been dropped, well sure enough, you managed to break your laptop again. I spoke with you or your husband Mike about the direction we could go with the repair, since the hard drive itself was still under Manufacturer's warranty through Seagate (note, there's a difference between my shop's warranty, and an actual manufacturer's warranty, but all this was explained to you in detail and you were very agreeable with the repair.) We RMA'd the failed hard drive back to the manufacturer at $11.95 total for shipping both ways. I received the replacement hard drive, installed it, loaded your operating system, installed the device drivers, updated the operating system, installed some basic software such as flashplayer, pdf reader, antivirus, and office software. Did a few tweaks on the system to make it run a bit better, and you came to pick it up. Normally, our operating system setup service is $89.99, had it still been under my shop's service warranty, you wouldn't have paid anything, but since it was 8 months out of our warranty, the bill was $101.94 which covered shipping and service, you didn't even have to buy a brand new hard drive, because I checked to see if it was still under manufacturer's warranty, which is was, and I passed that along to you. When you came in to pick it up, I'd noted that I taped up the exposed wires on your AC adapter, you said that yeah, it had gotten pulled out. I noted that your battery wasn't charging, you said that yeah, it's been bad for awhile. I noted that your touch pad wasn't working, you said yeah, it's been like that. I also noted that the plastic around the hinges on the laptop were cracked and you should be gentle when opening and closing it. You seemed good with everything. I rang up the total and you said that I'd told your husband Mike that it would be less than $100, well I probably said around $100, there's a difference, but either way, I knocked off $10 from the service charge bringing the total down to $91.94. This seemed to make you happy. Then you asked if I wanted to buy the laptop from you, I said no thanks, perhaps that's what made you mad and set you off on this malicious attack of lies. I don't know because you won't communicate. Based off your original, unedited review, you said we replaced the hard drive less than a year ago. Maybe you had lime green dell laptop confused with your black Toshiba, which we replaced the hard drive on in November 2014. The Toshiba would have still been under warranty, but the Dell was repaired January 2014

Steve was able to quickly discover what was wrong with my computer, and his rates are reasonable. When he discovered additional small issues with my PC, he took care of them but he didn't change his rate for the additional labor. I had my machine back within a day, running better than it has in years, and I couldn't be happier. I only wish he was also an Apple guy so I could bring my wife's computer there, but he happily referred me to another local business to address her needs. Will go here for any PC issues in the future.

Boise Computer Store told me that it was under warranty, so no problem. When I went back a few days later to pick up my computer, the bill was $100. So,.... how is that under warranty? l should have known better, since my computer came back the first time with the touch pad not working and the cursor jumping around the screen while I'm typing. Boise computer stores response that time? "Oh, it must have been broken before." PLEASE DON'T EVER TAKE YOUR COMPUTER OR LAPTOP TOP TO BOISE COMPUTER STORE FOR REPAIR!!!!

Had an issue that I was going to send my laptop back to the manufacturer and he helped me fix the problem, upgrade the hardware and software and did a full backup and he even helped me learn what was going on. Steve is freaking awesome. I first discovered him when a power supply in my desktop went bad. He sold me a replacement which is exactly what I needed. I then took my girlfriend's old laptop in for a tuneup. Before I did you couldn't even use it because it was so slow, afterwards it was quite speedy! What inspired me to write this review is what Steve just recently did. I took in my dead desktop and I asked what he could do to fix it up. My computer is 90% of my business and so to have it out of commission was incredibly stressful. Not only that I didn't have a ton of money to spend on a new computer. Steve diagnosed the problem, checked the hardware, replaced my video card, and removed lots of viruses/malware. He did all of this for a very, very, reasonable fee. I'm VERY impressed. After talking to him you can tell he knows his stuff. I'm glad to have a resource like him in Boise. I would highly recommend him to anyone with computer problems, or anyone that wants an expert to build them a computer. 5 stars all the way.
