This store is such an amazing treat, after shopping at some of their competitors ~cough~Wal-Mart. So bright, clean, organized, stocked shelves, great sales, BUT the reason why I don't mind spending a few cents more? The wonderful staff! They treat you like they are happy you are there, greet you when you enter, their interaction with each other while working makes me smile, they ask if they can help you find anything, everyone is so friendly and helpful. I spend hours there just enjoying the entire experience! Nice clean bathrooms, too. Tonite my cashier's name was Zach, so courteous, went above and beyond to make me feel he appreciated my business and wanted to return. Not like ~cough~ their competition, who hate customers! Target, especially the staff, make it my favorite place to shop on this overpriced, less than friendly, island.

This target won't price match Amazon despite the website saying otherwise, sales clerk tried to show me something on her phone but it didn't say anything that would imply they don't price match. I won't have bothered trying to buying it (checked the website on my phone before checking out), if I had know, but I had wasted to much time arguing with the clerk and need the SD card right away so was stuck. The Best Buy in town will price match Amazon, so go there instead. This Target also looks horrible, they took everything nice about the former store (nordstrom) away and left it looking like the Old Navy in this mall

Worst service ever in electronics. The manager there (Reuben) straight up lied to my face about checking for the Samsung tablet in the back storeroom that was listed in their ad. I watched as he walked away pretending to go check and then started arranging shelves. After a while he asked another associate to tell me it was not in stock. Went back to pick up my tablet 3 weeks later. Reuben was there again and lied to me again about the store policy. Went on to tell a whole story about it too. Then when we showed him & Yin the associate helping us that it was written down he ignored me & Yin said thats not MY policy. I know nothing of that!! (in the most sassiest way i ever heard) & they both walked away. We then complained to Tessa a manager at customer service who said she would take care of it. We'll see...

This location is in the mall across the street from Walmart. The shoppers at this location are like night and day when compared to the shoppers at Walmart. The prices were only slightly higher than those at Walmart, but the experience is far better.

As a Canadian we no longer have access to Target stores at home. So a trip to Target is fun for us. I’ve read a lot of bad reviews of this store but I didn’t see any issues with the store. It was quite busy when we were there but it was a rainy day so I figured lots of people went to the mall that day.

In 12 hours, I had 3 horrible experiences with Target. I wasted my time in major ways and found incompetent staff members all around. Just a plain Failure, with capital F. The store's holiday décor was ransacked, couldn't find a single glass ornament. The associate went to check if they have more in the back, only to forget about me. A half hour later, when I flag him down, he doesn't remember me until I remind him. He says 'sorry' and walks away again. The cashier (Jasmine) sent me to a store that was long closed, making me drive for hours for nothing. I didn't get back home till midnight. Then, I get a text alert next morning that my online order was ready for pickup, only to find out, when I showed up at the store to get it, that they couldn't locate the item, but they failed to tell me that. So, I got to drive AGAIN for nothing. The manager (Paul John) didn't bother asking what was wrong or who gave the wrong information. I don't know if all these employees are seasonal help. If so, they are giving seasonal help a bad name. If not, they are the most jaded, disengaged, uninterested-in-the-job people on earth.

This Target has two floors, so if you’re used to the typical target store layout, it can be a bit difficult to find things at first. However, the clerks are very friendly and will direct you to where you need to go. This store also has a reasonable selection of Hawaiian souvenirs, so if you need a lot off small souvenirs, this is a good place to come.

First of all, Keefelynne Aipia's review is incorrect and misleading. I don't know what store she is talking about but none of that information is correct. The moment I walked in from the Kapiolani Blvd street entrance, the familiar Target 'smell' welcomes shoppers and Target fans. Heading up the escalator to the first level, there is a Starbucks Coffee along with a seating area windows overlooking a panoramic view of Kapiolani Blvd and Keeaumoku Street below. The Electronics, Toys, Sporting Goods, Home, Kitchen, Mens and Womens wear is also located on the first level. As I strolled through the store, friendly Target employees greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I was asked in the toys, the Electronics and the Sporting Goods section. The upper level consists of the Grocery, Beauty, Health, Pharmacy, Children and Baby wear and Seasonal goods. The grocery section is immaculate for a store this size and the wine and spirits section is the largest in Hawaii's Target locations. There are many entrances located on the multi level store, with self checkout stands at all entrances, and traditional check out stands on the Mall Level entrance and the Upper Level Parking garage entrance. Even using the self checkout was a breeze. The Target employee stationed at the self checkout was very friendly and personable. I had such an enjoyable experience and even though this Target carries a limited selection compared to a full size store, I felt that this was the best experience I ever had at a Target store.

You can shop for your groceries, buy your alcohol and new clothes ALL in the one location. I think that the alcohol is CHEAPER than a duty free store, so keep that in mind. I normally don't like this particular Target location (Ala Moana Shopping Center) because it is small and cramped and almost never a pleasant experience for me: It's just the one that happens to be closest to my work and home. But the really pleasant, older gentleman employee who helped me with self-checkout -- not that I can't normally do it myself, but I wasn't sure about how to apply an app-clipped weekend special -- was so helpful in letting us know about an additional 5% discount that we could take advantage of through the app this week, even going so far as to make sure that this was my biggest planned Target haul for the week. This was part of a whole discussion about how Target will be doing a lot more with its app in the very near future and that we should be on the lookout for that. He truly made it feel like a customer service experience, and you don't get that very much these days!

Was at the Ala Moana Target today. Around 4:30 PM I saw a man put multiple boxes of the most expensive golf ball in his personal buggy. He covered them up to hide then as he made his way to the entrance I alerted the store employees who were less then concerned. This shoplifters went so far as to pass by the security scanners and when they didn't go off he made his way to the exit. I finally found the "one and only" security person and was told "there is only one of me what can I do". In reality he was more concerned in showing a lady where to find the trash cans than to follow up with loss of easily $250. Seems they could care less if shoplifters go there. Enjoy 2018.

Who designed this store?! This was my first visit and we could not find any helpful signs guiding you to the Target parking lot. Once we walked inside, the signs in the store were so tiny so you couldn't see the tiny signs marking which section was where and had to walk around in circles to find the departments aren't laid out in a user-friendly manner. Then after loading up our cart, we learned this store does not have the cart escalator like other multi-level Targets have and couldn't find any hand baskets to transfer our stuff or a place to leave the cart. Who makes a multi-level store and doesn't think about these things?! To boot, they were servicing multiple levels of escalators and didn't put any signs advising which ones were working or where to find the elevator (due to the aforementioned tiny signs). If you live here, I'm sure you'd get used to it. If you're visiting, save yourself the time and go to Walmart down the street. This store is not worth the hassle. Also, they did not have ANY shopping bags due to the plastics ban. I'm all for saving the environment, but it's ridiculous not to offer reusable shopping bags or paper bags for purchase at the register. Thankfully, we could hand carry everything we bought, but this oversight is absurd.

Today when visiting Target Ala Moana we were helped by an associate who was near the self-checkout line who helped us not only adjust the price to certain items that we were purchasing but had also helped sign me up for a Target card. She's very informative was super patient and all around great associate. She had even helped my mother and my mother even said that she was amazing. I was really discouraged before I even walked in because of all the problems I was having with the insurance company holding my FSA debit card, and my issue was really complicated to understand. The store is in a prime location! For what i need they have. I dont have to drive to salt lake or kailua (kapolei is a hell naw) to get what i need. Friendly staff and "always stocked" floor is why i give them 5 stars. Cheee huuu! And the parking is legit! Always get parking and you dont have to worry about geting rained on. Shout outs to Erica (store manager?) and Tasha who runs the hr. There exceptional knowledge in knowing the store corner to corner is why i refer my friends and family to shop at target ala moana

Terrible customer service. I lost a $168 gift card 5 mins after purchasing good thing I have a reciept. As stated on the back of TARGET GIFT CARD if lost or stolen go to their customer service. I Told them that I have Carpal tunnel and mostly no feeling in my hand and lost my card. Waited for 30mims a rude tall guy came and said we can't do anything it's your responsibility. I got pissed called the number at the back of target gift card which I should have done told them the situation and he is so sorry about what happened and he helped me after doing what he supposed to do he said " Ma'am since you have a reciept they could have went into their system which I just did and get the whole card number so they can block it on their end and re issue you an new card." So that being said those people doesn't know what they are doing, rude and can not even follow their own protocol when it is BLACK AND WHITE REGARDING LOST OR STOLEN GIFT CARD. I gave them a 2 because of the nice young associate who helped me since there are only 3 good TARGET associates ( young lady at customer service and the 2 at kids clothing) left other than that their manager or supervisor SMH I don't know how they got that position.

We were finally able to go to the Ala Moana Target store. We walked around a lot to look at items we were shopping for and just to look around. Fortunately, it wasn't as busy like the other Target stores so we were able to browse and shop without having to dodge and go around people. The workers were helpful, and if they didn't know, they asked another employee and got back to us. There's a lot of self checkouts, so it's convenient if you're just picking up a few items. You can scan your own gift cards when you earn Target Gift Cards for certain offers. You can also scan your cartwheel offers which helps save you a bit more!

Townies and tourists rejoice! Target opened this week. This is the first two floor Target on Oahu and the first Target in a shopping mall! It took over the old Nordstrom space. The store is split into three floors, with 5 entrances and one set of bathrooms by the elevators on the bottom floor. The street level is (accessible only from the Ke‘eaumoku St. entrance) is a mini gallery space showcasing the works of local artist Kris Goto, graphics on the walls can be seen throughout the store. Look for the spam musubi... They have tons of products and all the Target brands we love like Market Pantry, Merona, Cat and Jack, Project 62, etc. They have all the departments too, like baby, electronics, home, etc. The clothing departments at this location is a pretty good size. The pharmacy is on the third floor. They have tons of local products to choose from and even have a University of Hawai‘i aisle. It's Target, yet different than the other Target stores here. Why do you ask? This Target’s format is a little differently than the other Oahu stores since the aisles are much shorter. The different blocks (sections) don’t seem as organized and the store is much more cramped. This location has multiple floors so they have that wonderful gadget I love to watch, the cart escalator! I love watching people put their carts in it and watching their carts ascend to meet them as the guests ride the escalator. This location doesn’t have the shiny white floors and bright shopping atmosphere that we are used to. They have tons of self-checkout and check lanes by all four entrance/exits instead of just in one area. There’s a beach area to pick up last minute beach supplies like floaties or boogie boards. The liquor section is huge, probably to compete with nearby Foodland Farms and Walgreens. When I say huge, I mean huge. As in aisles. Tons of wine and beer, compared to the usual couple of aisles on Target. And when you purchase 6 bottles of wine, you save 10%! The grocery section is also quite large here with tons of frozen food, beverages and snacks. There's a Starbucks inside the store but no Food Avenue which is kind of disappointing but makes sense. They also carts for in store shopping but the carts can’t be taken outside of the store or else the wheels get locked. Although it’s a new store, they are using the old carts from store 2410, Salt Lake since those carts had those locking mechanisms. Somehow the store has managed to fit in with their great prices and products but still seem classy. This location truly is a Tarjay.

This target is huge. It is very different from the ones in Australia. The range is mind boggling. It had multiple levels and the food area was so much fun to look at - and purchase from. Fresh food was nice & Fresh. We purchased giant chocolate bags of sweets we have trouble getting in Australia. Even with the exchange rate the way it is, they were still great Value. They had a great clothing range too. Harry Potter themed was a big hit with us. The only problem we encountered was that we had to search for the elevator as the escalators were having issues. The exit we chose only had self service, but there was a friendly human there to assist. Traveling tip - set yourself a budget before you go here or you will get to excited and want to buy everything

Telephone operators NEED to be RETRAINED on their customer service skill or find another job! They were both very rude and at some point hung up on me while I was on hold. This could’ve been an accident but the service I received seems like it was no accident. I called back and the same two ladies answered my call with the same ATTITUDE. The associate helping me find the item Im searching for did not comfort the fact that I got disconnected and instead blamed me for hanging up. I kept my composure and brushed it off since my biggest issue that morning was to find the product I’ve been looking high and low for. After finding the item in stock, she failed to mention the details about product. I asked simple questions that made the associate have a hissy-fit over. I noticed her attitude but it didn’t bother me because I was more relieved my search was over. At the end of our conversation I thanked her for helping me because clearly she’s having a bad day. She said Yup! *line disconnects. Disrespectful, unprofessional girls. If they don’t like their job, Find another job!

Not really better prices or products than others, however checkout and cashier's should be able to process gift cards or reward cards like Visa, they messed me up twice, had to contact card issuer to be credited back. I enjoyed looking through this place but would not shop here again.
