I'm having a HORRIBLE experience with this Microsoft repair system! I brought in my computer to the Microsoft Store in Oakbrook Center, they fixed it, I picked it up, I paid for the repair, took it back to my office 5 miles away and hooked it up; this was 5 days ago. I go to use MicrosoftWord today and it's gone! Here's where the trouble begins..., I call the phone number for the Microsoft Store location that's on my "Work Authorization Form" and I get routed to India, I escalate the call to a supervisor, who transfers me to The Philippines (!)..., turns out that there is no way for me to talk to the repair tech who worked on my computer or to talk to ANYBODY at the Oakbrook Center location. Just imagine..., the store is 5 miles away but the phone number on my work order ( or the phone numbers that appear on numerous sites online ) routes me to India and/or The Filippines!! Am I the only one who sees this as a big problem in the Customer Satisfaction/Repair chain?

Everyone runs to the Apple Stores, which are always crowded. The Mircosoft Stores are less crowded. The staff at the Microsoft stores are friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are more competitive than the competition.

My computer was working fine just moving a little slow when I brought it in. After I gave it to them I get a call saying the hard drive was messed up and that I would have to get a new one. They purposely killed my hard drive to make me spend money. Now I can’t use it at all I am forced to buy a new hard drive.

I am a tech guy who works for a small local IT and PC company in upstate SC. Was in Atlanta for the weekend, and while at the mall stopped at this Microsoft store. It appeared the only person who really knew anything was the guy at the front helping people try out the nice VR setup they have. I was just looking around the store and the same lady asked me 3 different times if she could help me with some and I kept having to advise her I was just looking. I did have a question about some of the surface pro accessories, which at that point she had no clue about any of them. I expect a lot more from a Microsoft store, even being a smaller store!

The Microsoft store is like the Apple store... It's full of computers and accessories. There are a few differences however. 1. Apple store is always crowded. Microsoft store, not so much. 2. Apple laptops cost at least 1 appendage. 2 or 3 if you want a souped up MacBook Pro. Windows laptops start at a few hundred bucks. 3. Xboxes make up an entire wall of the Microsoft store. Iwatch wrist bands and beats headphones make up a wall in the Apple store. There are similarities though... 1. Staffed mostly by people who pretend to be technophiles but are more pretentious than anything else. 2. Expect to wait for anything and everything. 3. Expect upselling of useless accessories.

In the market for a tablet, came into the store... walked around and attempted to play with the different systems, but nothing was working/connected to play around with... even though we were very vocal about nothing “working”, no one came to help (and there were a few gentlemen standing around idle). So we left and walked a block over to the apple store, where people were demo’ing, everything was working, people were openly helpful, and the kids even learned how to code a robot... so, long story short, Microsoft missed out on a sale. Which might not be much on an individual level, but if this is a common occurrence for this location, might not be such a good thing, just sayin’... Have a great day!

You would think this is a wonderful store because the staff are helpful and friendly until you realize such a big store would commit fraud. I pointed at the one that’s “Surface Laptop” (8gb) and said I wanted this one. Also bought a mouse. I was really happy with the experience and the new laptop. However two days later I realized it was 4gb not 8gb. Both are $799 but only the 8gb was on the sign so I am sure that was the one I was asking for. My first reaction was that it was only a mistake. So I returned the next day to get the one I wanted originally. Then they told me, “it is sold out. Do you want to wait for the 8gb to ship here, a refund or you will just keep on using this one?” I found that really upsetting. Later I decided to get a refund and buy it from another store. I suppose that the staff who sold it to me was thinking that I would just walk away if the 8gb was sold out so she just kept her mouth shut and sold the 4gb to me. This is fraud. It could be the fault of just that staff, or of the whole store. When I talked to the manager, he said “the 8 gb is more expensive (not $799).” I went to point at the sign, he was just speechless. I don’t know if he was trying to fool me, or if he was just ignorant about the price (less possible). The way the manager handled it was basically “so what do you want? A refund?” So I gave up on communicating with him. The best way to comfort an angry customer would be to formally apologize, comfort him and explain the mistake. He was just trying to tune me out. My advice for consumers is: don’t go there, at least until they make some changes.

The Microsoft store suffers from the same problem that the Apple up the block does - their staff is just not to tech savy. Yes there are amazingly quailify staff but they are always swooped up quickly by the regulars who know who can help you and know "more" than you do and not the opposite way around.

The people that work there are incompetent. Took PC in for upgrade to Windows 10. They said it would be ready in 2 days. 2 days went by, no call from store...so we called them. They tell us it's still not ready, call back in two days. We call back they tell us it's still not ready, give them another day. Gave them a day they tell us it'll be ready on Saturday. A week has gone by. We get there Saturday, guess what? Still not ready and the people in the store seem uncaring, and don't even know their own jobs. Then they give us this run around about why it wasn't ready. Ugh...such incompetent people. They promise it will be ready by Monday. I have my doubts, but we'll see.

Customer service? Does it even exist? I called 3 times today for Microsoft support. The first and second time someone picked up the phone after me having to wait for 15 mins listening to elevator music and then they hung up. The third time someone picked up after 22 minutes and then hung up. So then I tried the automated help line so I can fix my excel problem. That routed me to another Microsoft help line where no one picked up. ' I guess this is the service I can expect from Microsoft. Too bad you wont change anything just because of one bad review. It’s unbelievable that I wasted 25 minutes just to TRY speak to someone at their retail store! Worst customer service I’ve ever seen. To not be able to call a store is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!! I was in yesterday and before driving 20 miles to go back today wanted to clarify some things and literally could not get anyone to put me through to the retail store. There were MORE employees there yesterday than customers and there’s NO WAY that they shouldn’t be able to get calls transferred to them immediately when the gate keepers at MS finally get on the phone. I am going to buy the Apple MacBook Air instead...that’s how disgusted I am with how I was treated today. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service.

returned a laptop to this store I purchased online, the store clerk took the laptop and told me everything was good-to-go. A month later, the fund didn't go back to account. Call the call-center and store and didn't get any answer from them. After waiting for six weeks, I decided to write this review. As I'm walking inside the door two worker girls are front and center right when I walk in with not even no hello goodmorning they ask how can I help I say I have a pick up they than began to ask me what's my name then one of them says you need your I'd as I'm ready reaching into my pocket for it as well as my phone just because I was aware already of what I had to bring but they just made me feel like I had to purchase something or need something before I can even walk through the front doors. Definitely prefer going to stores rather than online but really come on now guys show some friendliness and not so judgmental I know I wasn't there well dressed shopper but just give me kindness just like any other shopper.

Awesome stuff. Some of the staff know nothing about what they are selling and keep asking others for help or looking it up on a website in front of us. They'll just usually play games in the window and the only thing they are good at is babysitting kids with Fortnite consoles set up.

Microsoft service is the worst. Brought in my surface pro 6 after a month of usage and the pixels burned out leaving a burned white spot. Their solution was to change my brand new surface for a refurbished one. Pathetic. For $1 billion dollar company and they’re going to give me a fixed up computer in exchange? And they said they don’t fix burned pixels. I’m sure they do and they exchange them as certified refurbished for the next guy.

I checked out this store for the Lumia 1520 phone.. They had a large selection of phones, tablets, laptops and even an area kids could play Xbox games on. The staff was very friendly and didn't bug me a ton like other stores.. They asked if I neede help and when I said no, just looking, they let me be. Nice folks. Oh and it's NOT a kiosk as someone else said. it's a rather large store.

This place is cool. You can get on the xbox one x in the right side of the store and use the holo lens at the entrance. Actually there is a lot to explore. Almost too much to explain but you can do a lot of things get to know the tech. The staff are also really nice and willing to help you all the time if you have questions.

My Xbox One had died, I was sure of it. I already tried a few things of my own and took it to a standard repair place and nothing had worked. This store was my last hope so I scheduled an appointment and took it in. I was seen right away and he confirmed my suspicion, my Xbox was bricked, nothing could fix it. Seeing my sadness, he went and talked to his manager and came back saying "So I explained your situation with my manager and he hates that this has happened to you, he wants to make it up to you..." He went on to explain that he will trade in my current first gen Xbox One for an upgraded Xbox One S for no price increase (I was offered $115 to trade in my Xbox One for a refurbished one of the same model). This was great news to me, and it really felt like they were genuine on trying to help me out. It sucked that my Xbox had died but in the long run, I was able to upgrade to a better, sleeker, faster, model. Customer Service was amazing, the employees all seemed to really love what they do, the store was clean and had all sorts of gadgets you could play with. I will definitely come back to this location again for any Microsoft purchases or needed assistance.

I would give this store a 5 star for customer service, but 1 star for hosting their league of legends tournament. I took my son to join the tournament, he checked in, by himself, before 1:30pm, but he didn't get to play. I was told by one of their employees that 8 groups has checked in after my son, who does not have a group. So, even if u check in early, but a group came in and check-in, ur chances of joining this league, if ur by urself, is 0-1%. This is not fair at all! They should go back to grouping indiduals by their level and not by peers, because if u are not a member of any of this peers, u have no chance of playing the tournament. Microsoft Ala Moana, u might as well stop advertising this tournament. Just keep it to urselves and ur known groups!

It is Ridiculous that you buy a pc to work on and in less than a year it shuts down and will not start up and when you call tech support you wait on line for hours playing push button he’ll in an attempt to get assistance then you show up at the store before it opens for help only to be told you have to make an appointment, I opted for the Microsoft in stead of apple because of the ease of use of the pc I should have looked at the ease of CustomerCare apple bends over backwards to help customers, Microsoft could care less great culture mr gates maybe the ghost Steve Jobs should be an inspiration

My husband purchased Dell Inspiron 13 for my in the go blogging from this store. I've been having some issues with it and finally had a Chance to come in. All the staff was fabulous with working with me. Immediately offered me coffee, tea or water. As a mom what I found to be cool is that they offer kid tech camps for the summer. 4 days a week for a few hours a day. There where a ton of kids there. I'm already impressed with the customer service and will defiantly come back.

They can't actually do any repairs in store or outside facilities. They are only able to sell you devices without any responsible way of fixing them for the customer. So, if your device breaks, be prepared to pay for a refurbished one with only a 90-day warranty.

Bought a Dell Inspiron 15 5559 here. Mild regrets but that's mostly the laptop, and the best alternative was 300 bucks more. Granted it was returning a defective one at the Square that informed me of a 100 dollar discount promotion. Anyways this place has plenty of nice staff, though one referred to my SD card dying as great before trying to upsell me. They'll help with software for free and have water, tea, and coffee. Hardware costs so if it's easy to repair do it yourself. In a nutsell it's an average Apple Store but with Xbox, Surface, and Windows IT.

I think the store is setup nicely and it has the right size for the traffic they are receiving. The one thing that makes me detract 2 stars are the employees. They are too clique. Chatting with each other and customers have to walk up to them with a question. I am not an Apple fanboy, but I never see that in their stores. They watch you and try to help if you have that question mark levitating over your head. I think Microsoft has a good platform going with nice looking products. Just make customers feel welcome.

After sending in my xbox one to a service center for repairs and getting it back with the same issue i sent it in for, microsoft support suggested i drive 60 miles to the closest Microsoft store to have my xbox repaired or replaced. I make my appointment and they tell me its a hardware issue and my model isnt in stock to be swapped out with, wasted my time after being told they could help and being told to send it to the same repair center that never fixed my product in the first place.

7:40pm Feb 28 '17. A shockingly bad experience. Accosted by store manager for temerity to ask if recent sales price could be honored on purchase of TWO machines. We mistakenly thought the reduction was permanent/ in advance of release of upgraded model--- and, man, she let us know just how presumptious we were! Entered with intent to buy two Surface devices and left content to remain with Apple products.

I am a Windows fan through and through. I buy everything windows. I was not happy with the level of customer service I received. I do not know if i did not look like the typical customer, or something else but I was not pleased. I was not greeted when I walked in the store, and there were quite of few workers who were free. I looked around for help and there were employees who looked at me, dead in the face but still did not say anything. I finally just went and asked for help, and the girl who helped me, told me to look at office depot for a USB-C sync cable for my 950XL because she wasnt sure what it was and if they carried it. I am very unhappy with this store and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Walked in with 2 broken Items, walked out with 2 brand new items! My hard drive was toast on my 7 month old Xbox one X, took it in, with an appointment, they tested it saw it wasn't working, looked up the warranty, then proceeded to give me a (brand new) replacement, for 0 dollars. Then my controller had a left joystick issue, then gave me a brand new one, no questions asked! If you have any issue with any Microsoft product, please do not hesitate to stop in, they are Extremely friendly, helpful and Will solve your problem, most likely for free! If I could give 10 stars I would and will not hesitate to stop in if I have any issues in the future.

Microsoft! How many ways can you say, just plain stupid? They seem bent on failure. They have a proven record - anyone remember Zune, Vista, etc.? I can't get a straight answer from their website and so thought I'd visit the store. Phone first, right? Rather than a sales friendly human I got a fruitless voice tree. When I called back and tried to avoid all that by pressing zero i got a robot saying, "Goodbye!," and then a hang up. Microsoft - "Goodbye." Hello, Apple?

I dropped my Surface Pro 3. This store couldn't find my 2 year extended warranty even though I had bought one. My husband found the receipt and emailed it to them. They gave me a replacement computer. I had to set up everything all over again because there was a 5 week wait for transferring from computer to computer. I expected better from Microsoft. Everything seemed fine the first few hours the next day then my internet stopped working. Something was wrong with the network adapter. They probably gave me a Surface Pro 3 someone else had returned. I looked up the error on another computer since this Microsoft store and Microsoft in general had already lost my trust. I had to uninstall the adapter and install a new one. Now it is working. They were good at quickly getting me another Surface Pro 3 and staying friendly even though I was not, that's why I rated a 3.

I'm having a HORRIBLE experience with this Microsoft repair system! I brought in my computer to the Microsoft Store in Oakbrook Center, they fixed it, I picked it up, I paid for the repair, took it back to my office 5 miles away and hooked it up; this was 5 days ago. I go to use MicrosoftWord today and it's gone! Here's where the trouble begins..., I call the phone number for the Microsoft Store location that's on my "Work Authorization Form" and I get routed to India, I escalate the call to a supervisor, who transfers me to The Philippines (!)..., turns out that there is no way for me to talk to the repair tech who worked on my computer or to talk to ANYBODY at the Oakbrook Center location. Just imagine..., the store is 5 miles away but the phone number on my work order ( or the phone numbers that appear on numerous sites online ) routes me to India and/or The Filippines!! Am I the only one who sees this as a big problem in the Customer Satisfaction/Repair chain?

The Microsoft store is like the Apple store... It's full of computers and accessories. There are a few differences however. 1. Apple store is always crowded. Microsoft store, not so much. 2. Apple laptops cost at least 1 appendage. 2 or 3 if you want a souped up MacBook Pro. Windows laptops start at a few hundred bucks. 3. Xboxes make up an entire wall of the Microsoft store. Iwatch wrist bands and beats headphones make up a wall in the Apple store. There are similarities though... 1. Staffed mostly by people who pretend to be technophiles but are more pretentious than anything else. 2. Expect to wait for anything and everything. 3. Expect upselling of useless accessories.

This place is cool. You can get on the xbox one x in the right side of the store and use the holo lens at the entrance. Actually there is a lot to explore. Microsoft! How many ways can you say, just plain stupid? They seem bent on failure. They have a proven record - anyone remember Zune, Vista, etc.? I can't get a straight answer from their website and so thought I'd visit the store. Phone first, right? Rather than a sales friendly human I got a fruitless voice tree. When I called back and tried to avoid all that by pressing zero i got a robot saying, "Goodbye!," and then a hang up. Microsoft - "Goodbye." Hello, Apple?

I dropped my Surface Pro 3. This store couldn't find my 2 year extended warranty even though I had bought one. My husband found the receipt and emailed it to them. They gave me a replacement computer. I had to set up everything all over again because there was a 5 week wait for transferring from computer to computer. I expected better from Microsoft. Everything seemed fine the first few hours the next day then my internet stopped working. Something was wrong with the network adapter. They probably gave me a Surface Pro 3 someone else had returned. I looked up the error on another computer since this Microsoft store and Microsoft in general had already lost my trust. I had to uninstall the adapter and install a new one. Now it is working. They were good at quickly getting me another Surface Pro 3 and staying friendly even though I was not, that's why I rated a 3.

I went to this store to discuss some issues I was having with my phone. I waited 10 minutes for 2 employees who were talking about there weekend to help me. I asked a couple questions and the young gentlemen could not even answer one of my questions. Then he asked if I was interested in purchasing a new phone. My phone is 6 months old. Microsoft PLEASE educate your staff. I am a long time windows guy. I will not be purchasing any more windows products. Apple will be happy with my money since Microsoft doesn't seem to need it.

Big Microsoft fan but had trouble with my Surface headphones microphones picking up sound improperly. Was approved for warranty replacement online but when I went in store they told me the behavior was normal and gave a major fuss over replacing them. After enough back and forth and being told they don't see an issue, they replaced my pair under warranty. Very negative experience and unfriendly staff unwilling to help.

one person guaranteed me that could change my computer back to Windows 7. The next person told me it was impossible after I bought the Windows 7. Unfortunately you may find yourself needing to go there when Windows 10 turns your computer into a brick. biggest lesson learned is don't buy any more Microsoft products and don't count on Microsoft to give you any form of service. Visited and called this store several times in search of the new Surface Book 2. Every time the Surface Book 2 has been out of stock or backordered. I asked the sales associate if they had a list for people wanting to buy products that are back ordered. They do not. They suggest that you order online and have it delivered to your house. I do not believe having $4,000 worth of computer equipment sitting on my front door in December when packages are being stolen off everybody else's front door is an acceptable solution. On Black Friday when these products were backordered Microsoft had backorder lists that you could get on and they would reserve 1 of this product for you and even contact you when it comes to the store. I would rate this store much higher if they would help me buy their products.

This is a great store where they remember how to serve a customer. Recently took my two boys there for a Merit Badge class and the instructor for the class (Lisa(?)) was very patient , cheerful and knowledgeable. I called the phone number and got switched to a call center who told me that they called the store and verified they had a band in my size. I was told to go to the store. When I arrived at the store they passed me around to 5 different people before addressing my issue. They even had to make an appointment with the person standing in front of me. Turns out they did not have a band in my size and they claimed they never received a phone call. Given my in person experience I find it hard to believe that they have any way of keeping track who does call in. This store doesn't care about their customers at all. I went in with a legitimate warranty claim about my Microsoft Band and they tried to tell me it was just cosmetic. The battery was discharging and causing bubbles. That is not cosmetic but in fact a defect with the battery.

An employee, who later found out was the Store Manager, finished up with a customer then came over to find out my problem while waiting for another rep to become available. Asked my reasoning for being there, told him that the screen stayed black after powering up. Tried a couple different things and then connected to an external monitor. Surface had died. Checked to see warranty status. Told me it was past warranty however he offered me a replacement for minimal cost. Finished the paperwork, paid and thanked him for the service he provided. On the surface, this is an Apple store kind of experience. Open plan setup with all of the products available to test and experience as you intend to use them. Unlike Apple stores though, Microsoft stores don't just sell their own products (beyond peripherals). They also sell other excellent PC products so that you can make an informed decision. The staff at this store were very friendly and very helpful. They happily spent time with me to ask about my use case and then went through the range of products they thought would best serve my needs (and no, they did not preferentially hawk the Microsoft products). They also listened to what products had caught my eye and then explained how that product might or might not suit my needs. Fast forward 3 months since my purchase and I am very happy. I bought the ASUS Zenbook 3 which is much like the Macbook Air it replaced. Light, portable, but with more than enough power to do daily computing for work and play. What it won't do as well as more powerful laptops is intensive, repetitive graphics rendering, but I don't do that (that's why I had the Air). Why did I swap to the Zenbook from the Air? Because of the touchscreen and stylus. Is it gimmicky? Not at all. I use it to annotate documents with my handwriting (meaning I can write shorthand) without having to waste paper. And I have begun drawing as well. And for me it is revolutionary. Again, no paper, but more importantly, I can undo and redo brush strokes which is a whole lot better than an eraser on paper. And it feels natural. Well done Microsoft for once again becoming pioneers in the industry. And well done on this store which was so helpful in helping me make my decision.

Simply put the Microsoft Store is the great experience you've had at the Apple Store, but it's for Xbox and Windows products. The Microsoft Answer Desk offers some of the best technical support services available for Windows laptops, desktops, and tablets. Their support services are extremely reasonably priced and they will fix the issue right the first time. Viruses and malware will be removed. As an IT Professional, I'm impressed with their support services over what I've experienced with other Computer Repair services at Box Stores like Best Buy's Geek Squad. All of the employees are very friendly and all there to help answer your questions on products or helping you to answer questions you have with your existing product.

When we walked in, the man at the front to greet people asked how he could help and I said, "we wanted to see what the new Xbox was all about". He scrunched up his face in a way to say that I was crazy for not knowing what the new Xbox is all about. After looking at the Xbox for a little bit, he then decided to say something to us. He said that he has different stations around the store where we can (and then he put up air-quotes) "see what the new Xbox is all about". This is such an awesome store. I went in to pickup a Lenovo Explorer wmr headset I ordered. Turns out I ordered it for pickup at the Microsoft store at the Woodfield mall and not the Oakbrook one! But the awesome employees at this Microsoft store were extremely forgiving and helpful, and fixed my order for me so I wouldn't have to go to the other store. While I was waiting I was even offered a soft drink, coffee or tea. The store interior had so many cool products on display that I wanted to stick around longer. They even had a classroom set up in the store for kids to learn basic programming. Overall, one of the neater stores I've been to.

I went in looking to buy a new laptop and some software. when I went in, all I saw were employees playing videos the sales girl who helped me was friendly BUT very ignorant in other matters. Sarah took less than 10 minutes to verify the problem and swapped out surface pens for me on the spot, no questions asked. Seriously best experience I've had. I got to visit here when I was on vacation and passing through them all it was super fun to look at all the really cool stuff and check out some of the VR displays that they had I only wish I had a ton of money to be able to buy anything in the store as most things seem to be overpriced. Big Microsoft fan but had trouble with my Surface headphones microphones picking up sound improperly. Was approved for warranty replacement online but when I went in store they told me the behavior was normal and gave a major fuss over replacing them. After enough back and forth and being told they don't see an issue, they replaced my pair under warranty. Very negative experience and unfriendly staff unwilling to help.

one person guaranteed me that could change my computer back to Windows 7. The next person told me it was impossible after I bought the Windows 7. Unfortunately you may find yourself needing to go there when Windows 10 turns your computer into a brick. biggest lesson learned is don't buy any more Microsoft products and don't count on Microsoft to give you any form of service. This is a great store where they remember how to serve a customer. Recently took my two boys there for a Merit Badge class and the instructor for the class (Lisa(?)) was very patient , cheerful and knowledgeable. The rest of the staff was great especially Erin who helped me find a usb thumb drive in a hurry and actually at a decent price. Had a scheduled appointment, was greeted right away. Asked my name, time and reason for appointment. Was offered something to drink and sat and waited. An employee, who later found out was the Store Manager, finished up with a customer then came over to find out my problem while waiting for another rep to become available. Asked my reasoning for being there, told him that the screen stayed black after powering up. Tried a couple different things and then connected to an external monitor. Surface had died. Checked to see warranty status. Told me it was past warranty however he offered me a replacement for minimal cost. Finished the paperwork, paid and thanked him for the service he provided. Great customer service!

They get in games very quickly and if they dont have it they can get it. I have to say in my experience very friendly people that work here. This is an excellent store to have at oakbrook mall. The staff at the Oakbrook Center are OUTSTANDING! I took a workshop which the Fox Valley SCORE Chapter offered, and I purchased a computer through them. The staff transferred my files, and added the printer drivers and Outlook to my machine. Meghan was the person who added the printer drivers and Outlook. My friend and I wanted to check out the store for the first time because we wanted to purchase the new xbox. When we walked in, the man at the front to greet people asked how he could help and I said, "we wanted to see what the new Xbox was all about". He scrunched up his face in a way to say that I was crazy for not knowing what the new Xbox is all about. After looking at the Xbox for a little bit, he then decided to say something to us. He said that he has different stations around the store where we can (and then he put up air-quotes) "see what the new Xbox is all about". I felt like he was trying to make me feel stupid so I just left. I was going to purchase the Xbox One S but not when I get treated like that.

I wish that I'd looked at the reviews before shopping here! This store is a corporate shill. I purchased a laptop here in the fall and the cooling fan conked out after about seven months. I called their support and they set me up with an appointment at the store the next morning. I arrive, only to learn that they want to charge me $50 just to send my laptop back to HP for six weeks. Of course, I can do it on my own for free, but they are letting me give them $50 if I'd like. They just wasted my entire morning so that they could have an opportunity to sell me something that I can get for free (and they know it). The only logical reason that they didn't tell me that on the phone is because they were happy to waste my time for a chance to wring a few extra dollars out of me. Instead, they lost a customer and earned some bad reviews. Buyer beware. The corporate gloss is all a scam and this store will try to reach as deep into your pockets as they can.

Called up this store to get a Surface swapped out after I got the same (broken) one back from their repair center. Device is brand-new and won't charge. Dude on the phone says to bring it in and they'll trade it out, easy. I make an appointment and head in to the store. First, they don't have my appointment or my information (and I imagine none of the notes taken by the person I spoke to on the phone). Doesn't matter, though, because I get handed off to the rudest worker imaginable who explains nothing and immediately makes me feel like I'm trying to swindle them out of a tablet or something. He did not introduce himself, he barely listened to what my problem was and he didn't even look at the confirmation code I had been asked to bring. So, seems he went in blind and somehow determined that my Surface not charging and getting returned to me in the exact same state was my fault. Cool. I had already had a long day (and a long two weeks just trying to get this device repair sorted out), so I just left. Pretty sure one of the employees mumbled something after me, but I was already irritated enough not to care. Worth bringing up, though, because wow. This is the third time I have tried to use Microsoft customer service and each time it has been a fiasco. I can understand why the Apple store up the street is full to bursting and this place is a wasteland most days. If you're looking to solve a Microsoft computer problem, my suggestion is, ironically, to stay as far away from Microsoft and their stores as possible. Experience tells me they're not actually committed to helping you and are just there to explain reasons why they can't or, more likely, won't. You're better off Googling your computer issues. At least that way there's a chance they'll get fixed. Additionally: The complete lack of response on these negative reviews should tell you exactly how much Microsoft cares.

Amazing customer service. My surface pro 3 had a touchscreen malfunction and I did a Warranty exchange here, they waved the deductible because I was not expecting it. Even after I left my microsd in my old tablet they fished it out and SHIPPED it to me for free. Run by insanely awesome people with good customer service. Great bunch of people working there, bravo, keep up the good work. The interior is sooooooo nice and cool. Totally cooler than apple stores and Samsung stores. Very well decorated and they have everything on display for people to demo. Would give 6/5 if possible. Great job microsoft, glad I bought a surface pro!

Horrible experience! I ordered an Acer Aspire S7 laptop by calling the Microsoft store on August 7th. When I read the email confirmation I realized that the rep didn't give me the next day shipping that was part of the promotion. I called back and she said that the order is in processing and she can't change the shipping method. I told her to cancel since I needed the laptop sooner than the 5-7 business days of ground shipping. She suggested that I cancel the slow shipping order and order another one with an overnight shipping. I would be charged twice, but would get the refund within a week on the cancelled order. Guess what? After several email apologies, escalations and time wasted on the phone calls, one month later, still no refund posted.

In general, all the staff is very helpful and kind! Syed really went out of his way to make me, a very sad customer, happy. I came in one day with a broken surface pro (and dreams :'( ) from a family trip but he quickly found solutions for me. Seems you're certainly allowed to just chill and play Xbox too. Great support in general too: same-day pickup, walk-in (or scheduled appointment) IT/tech support on anything (even Apple), and how-to/productivity classes in separate area. If it was closer to me, I'd probably have more trouble leaving and with finances.

I have been on the phone for 18 minutes trying to speak with someone about my warranty. The only option that is applicable is option 6. It took me to their international customer service desk. They are now telling me that I selected the wrong option. What other option is there since I am calling about a Dell computer? When I asked them to connect me and help me to speak with a live person, the call was disconnected. No one called me back even though I gave them my number at the beginning of the call. HORRIBLE service! I just called the "store number" that they gave me (it is the same one that is on the website when you google them) to only find out that it isn't really the store number. It is the number of someone else who answers calls for stores and he is now going to call the store. Microsoft you have to do better!!!! 30 minutes have gone by and I still can not get through to the store to find out about the expensive service warranty that I bought. Total time spent 45 minutes!!!

I felt guilty visiting the Microsoft store. I was that customer every sales rep hates that came in ten minutes before close. Just a poor imitation of a the Apple store directly opposite. The main difference is that the Apple store always has more customers than staff, whereas the Microsoft store nearly always has more staff than customers. Still, this is the place to go if you like collecting viruses and other windows malware. Sorry, no stars from me for simply following in Steve Jobs footsteps.

Starts with deceptive advertising: Microsoft brochures describe the ASUS x200ma as a "pc", but only the inner box has "Notebook" on it, which I do not routinely buy. 'Net reviews read later describe it as garbage, so they must have known how disturbing it is e.g. this is the second attempt to get it to take this review; the twitchy cursor wiped the first after it was written; demands a lot of work for it/him. 4 repairs at 90 days replacing the screen with a scratched screen and the HD with a decrepit worn out noisy HD, stonewalling past the software guarantee, and now they are stonewalling past the 2-yr. hardware guarantee. They refused to pay postage for first repair; undoubtedly bragging, to you -- talk about effacement -- how stupid the customer is to pay his own postage to ASUS. Wildly careening cursor with or without any touchpad use, clicks on anything it passes; moves on its own 10 minutes every hour at least; sometimes moves with movement 3" above the touchpad: consider how much carcinogenic and sterility-causing radiation it is aiming at one's head. Insolent probable hacking direct connections, and "Windows cursor problems they still haven't solved" X10 for the junk hardware. Routed to the same tech each time repair attempted, professes ignorance despite the entire routine repeated twice over years. Can anything be any worse? Who moved in on Microsoft and/or Microsoftstore? Clinging viciously to the new Apple store opened nearby as "Bad publicity is still publicity" or make your own conspiracy theory.

Computers there are priced fair. I bought a really powerful laptop there that's just as good as a macbook pro 15 inch for $900. It's a laptop I would recommend to pretty much anyone. Get the gaming laptops there if you're looking for a good computer. Some of them are $900 or less there if you get lucky and find sales there. These things can do everything from gaming, graphics work, and productivity. I never really had a problem using their computers.

I drove from Rome, (4 hours up and down) GA, to Microsoft Store, Perimeter Mall to get some technical help regarding my surface pro 4. I forgot my bit-locker password, and I required to reset it. I met a technician named Muhammad, who is not interested in fixing my computer. He informed me that my hard drive is crashed and it cannot be repaired. His suggestion was to get a new one or call Microsoft online office and get an old one for $450 (I think a refurbished one) which has a warranty for 90 days. I was able to fix my computer with the help of google. I know now how Microsoft became the wealthiest company in the world (Making people to discard the good /repairable computer and making them buy a new one). Very disappointed

I would leave no stars if I could. They have terrible customer service. I was having an issue with my surface pro, so I brought it in to the store. They told me they would email me with "status updates" about my device... that was a lie. So after i had to call, multiple times, to see what was going on and how things were going I was told one day that my hard drive might have been corrupt but they still had to see, the next day i was told that everything was fine and they were just gonna install windows 10 and it'll be ready for pick up within the next few days. They they finally called me, I was thinking to tell me my device was ready for pick up, and nope now my hard drive is corrupt and they say there is nothing they can do. I will never recomend anyone to this store and will most likely just switch over to apple products since they can at least be worked on and not just thrown away when something doesn't work. Worst experience I have ever had not just customer service wise but there techs are under qualified and you can see that when they tell you something one day and something completely different the next.

Oh. My. Goodness. I've never been to a Microsoft store before. Wonderful customer service. Took care of my Surface Pro 4 issue with minimal hassle. Could not be happier about the service. Only issue, and not fault of this store location, is that to speak to an actual human being at this (or any location) is next to impossible. Spent an easy 15 minutes navigating 'press 1/press 2/press 3' options. I was then placed on hold for another 7 minutes. I hung up and decided to drive to the actual store itself. Was happy I did so.

My partner and I visited this store around 7:30 p.m. on a Monday night to buy a Dell Inspiron on sale. There was only one other customer at the time. We had a pleasant salesman who answered all our questions, and allowed us to look around freely and examine the Dell. When we came to pay, the store manager took care of us. He was very friendly and cooperative, giving us a full discount on the sale price. It is probably worthwhile going to the store at a quiet time when staff are available to give you relaxed, personal attention.

Even after I left my microsd in my old tablet they fished it out and SHIPPED it to me for free. Run by insanely awesome people with good customer service. Great bunch of people working there, bravo, keep up the good work. The interior is sooooooo nice and cool. Totally cooler than apple stores and Samsung stores. Seems you're certainly allowed to just chill and play Xbox too. Terrible customer service. it took them almost a month to make a refund. i return laptop to the store, and i bet they forgot to send it to warehouse. i contact support 3 times, they always told me that they evaluate my case and somebody gonna contact me in 24-48 hours. and nobody did. was trying to contact the store, but nobody answer the phone. and finally today support realized that they probably should contact local store, after 3 calls and promises to evaluate my case. just ridiculous. Assistant manager of the store Mark said refund will be process in 3-5 business days, and they even didn't explain why it took so long. Went to this place with my sister. As we are latin we were speaking spanish the whole time. She is 15 i am 24. We were looking to get a computer for her so we asked some questions to this lady. After a while we did not find anything that fits what she needs. So we browse around the store looking for the VR. She wanted to try one since she has never experienced. She puts it on and the woman that we asked before come to us and takes it off of her head without even explaining anything and then walks away. Just RUDE. My experience at this store was less than stellar. After purchasing a new Dell laptop for my father, I had to return it to the store after three months due to a motherboard failure. The person in the store helping me was nice enough when I made the return and offered to replace the computer with one of equal value. Unfortunately, the store manager would not honor the offer. Thus, the computer was shipped off for repair. It took weeks for the computer to be repaired (yes, it was during Christmas) but it is still not working properly. Since then, good customer service has sorely been lacking to the point that my sister was told that I shouldn't have purchased the computer in Atlanta when my father lived in another state. Really? What they should have done is replace the computer. I would have gladly accepted another one of equal value since the model I bought is no longer available, or I would have paid the difference for a higher priced machine. I hope other Microsoft Stores are not like this one and stand behind the products they sell.

Very good experience in my first training. I am switching from a MAC to PC and the trainer understood both the MAC and PC. Have newly purchased PC at early stages of getting comfortable. Trainer was patient, good listener and was able to focus on the specific challenges to ensure most import concerns were addressed in a timely manner. The Greeter was welcoming, and it's pretty inside, but it took me 3 times of saying "Excuse me" to the salesman, who was jabbering on to his friend, to acknowledge me, I asked a simple question and got a fast answer that I didn't understand. Worst experience. A guy who works there has a worst attitude towards customers. Rude and unprofessional. They just come up with some discounts that are not normally provided by Microsoft and make you wait for an hour saying they are processing the discount and later come back to say that there are some conditions apply for the discount which makes you pay the actual amount for the product. Every time I've come here, it's because Microsoft screwed my computer with another new required update. I can't even tell you how many hours I've spent dealing with these issues. Ultimately, they usually have me head downtown to have their "specialists" repair my computer. It's supposed to be free because their updates messed my computer up, but somehow, they always tell me I need a new this, or a new that, and I always end up having to spend money there for an issue that's not my fault. To boot, when I do get my computer back, it's never the same. Sometimes they fix the original issue, but there have been times where they've given me my computer back and nothing is fixed. One time, after getting my computer back, it was suddenly making these scary whirring noises like something was loose inside. It's just one nightmare after another. The folks working here are always really nice, but I have no faith in getting my computer fixed there.

He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions about battery life, the alcantara fabric, comparison to the MacBook, running softwares, etc. Because of the initial customer service there, I finally felt ready to take the plunge and the associate helped me get the finance application started. Here’s when things take a turn. Once I competed the application, I noticed the associate was not in the showroom and figured he was in the back getting the product ready. I waited for about 15 minutes before someone came over and asked if I needed assistance. I told him Eddie was helping me, which he responded by saying that Eddie had already gone to lunch. I thought “Okay, I’m not going to let this get to me”. I told my new attendant that I had completed my finance application and was ready to make the purchase. He tells me that he’ll have it ready in about 5 minutes. However, he comes back and tells me that they don’t actually have the item in stock. I walked into the store knowing exactly what I wanted, but only to be met by someone who would leave me right in the middle of the buying process and not letting anyone know, not being able to leave with the product in hand because the product was not in stock while I was completing the credit application for it. And ultimately my time was not respected and not once did anyone apologize for the lack of consideration.

This review is about the excellent service I received from Bruno. I brought my computer into the store with the question: Is it infected with a virus that's "lying" to me, claiming that my OS is a counterfeit version of Windows, or is this truly the case? Previously, my computer had been worked on by someone independent, and was returned to me with pop-ups alerting me that my Windows are not kosher. In response, I checked around and learned that, free of charge, upon appointment, Microsoft will look at a PC to determine if it is infected, and clean it if is (double check this, as things could change, over time!). That's great service! Let's acknowledge that. I admit it: I was so angry about my pop-up surprise that, in spite of myself, my disposition at the store was less than sunny. I wasn't crazy, but I had a chip on my shoulder, and my listening was impaired. This did not deter Bruno who did his very best. He was organized, thorough, knowledgeable. He also was a creative, out-of-the-box thinker. Bruno educated me about my choices as a consumer, so that I did not need to spend a ton of money, something I was not eager to do. Thank you!

The 1st time I went in I was "helped" by the woman at the door. She was distracted by the work she was doing and would not hear my needs. She just kept trying to sell me the Surface, but not really because she was distracted, bored, or just not listening.. ..A week later, trying to be helped by a different person, I got her again. I told her why it was a bad experience before, she uttered sorry but not really. Still distracted. She said "We were really busy..." No you weren't , I was there. Maybe you were busy.... I had one of the best customer service experiences the other day at this microsoft store. I had to send my brand new Xbox One X in for repair because the power cord fried, they repaired the console and sent it back only to find out the console was now making a strange noise. I did not want to send it back in for repair so I decided to take it straight to the Microsoft store at Pioneer Place and they exchanged my defective console for a brand new one with no questions asked! Not a warranty replacement model, a brand new one. I could not have been more pleased.

The store is located within Ala Moana Center on the mall level near the Apple Store (interesting placement). It is an open layout with product displays all over. The store displays it's hardware upfront and other hardware in the back. The store has a virtual reality area for people to try out. The price variety is wide with the options of different hardware. Exceptional costumer service! I didn't feel pressured to buy when entering the store. I was able to browse freely within earshot of attendants happy to answer any questions. They encouraged me to demo products but to only display the products wonderful user experience and not to make a sale. This store wants to you feel good about your purchases and assist with finding the product that is right for you and nothing more. Great business practice to produce happy consumers (Best Buy, take notes). And I think I should mention that one of the employees remembered my name when a came back an additional time. The Washington Square location was rude, and totally unhelpful. I was very frustrated when I got to this location, but Zach walked me through the issues with my device, clearly explained my options, and then actually looked up all the available deals. He was able to find the best possible solution for me. He demonstrated outstanding customer service and customer care. I am truly happy I was able to resolve the situation with his help.

I went there yesterday and the store was all boarded up. Presumably for Lane. The rest of the Mall was up and running. Tried calling the store to find out if it is open today. There is no option to talk to a real person. Online sources say the store is open. But it said that yesterday too! My Surface Pro is having problems and wanted it checked out. Online sources and store phone give no indication of store status. Ok, I gave my original post a 1 star. I have edited to reflect 3 stars cuz of the circumstances. I would have thought a tech company would use their tech better. But you don't get hurricanes everyday either!

The EXCACT SAME miscommunication happened TWICE. My friend and I found out that this location was going to have a Halo 5 2v2 tournament 3 days before it happened. We registered for the event and was told that we would receive an email within 24 hours of registration. We never got the email. The day of the tournament, we decided to go anyway assuming it was just a misunderstanding. ON THEIR WEBSITE, it said that registration to play was from 12p-1p. We arrived just before 1p and they told us that registration had already closed and acted like we were dumb for not knowing that it ran from 11a-12p. After telling them that we never got their conformation email, they did nothing. The other people who came to compete were more helpful and understanding than the people working at the place. We left feeling cheated as they didn’t have the correct information on their website. About a month later, there was a Halo 5 4v4 tournament at the this same location. We found out about it a lot sooner and was about to register 2 weeks ahead of the event. Again, we received no email telling us the correct time or even that we were able to play. We didn’t even bother to show up that one simply because we figured we’d just get cheated again because they don’t know how to put the correct information on their website or even send the emails they said they would.

Terrible experience. Upon arrival ALL employees just standing at opening, people watching, laughing giggling, and talking on their phones. I was sent there to purchase an item which I was told over the phone that I'd receive a military discount on... Well apparently the female store Manager doesn't respect the military enough to honor the discount. I was quickly told that there was nothing she was going to do and that whoever I spoke with over the phone informed me incorrectly. I pulled up my past orders in that store to show her that indeed other Managers had honored the discount on very large purchases like $900+. Yet she was determined not to do it herself. I left the store contacted Microsoft Integrity complaints dept and filed an escalation against the store because I felt as though myself and the United States military had been discriminated against.

I went into the store without high expectations for my appointment. My surface pro computer was having issues with the pen. She set up a repair tool to run on the computer and fix any issues. It did not work, and they ended up replacing the whole computer and pen. Our technician Teneesha was amazing shoutout to her! She made transferring the files and account easy! They even offer you a selection of complimentary drinks and let you play on the consoles while you wait. Overall a possible hassle that ended up being a nice experience.

The first experience was excellent. Not much was done to fix the issue... but it was anticipated. Was told to use my computer and see if things improved... if not, make an appointment and they will reformat and reinstall. Made an appointment, explained what needed to be done, reformat, reinstall, ect... after an hour commute... showed up and was told its a 15 min courtesy consult. Wth did I make an appointment for? To show up to make another appointment? When i began to get upset, the manager stepped in and repeated the 15 min courtesy thing blah blah blah. No not acceptable. I was there the first time, followed their damn policy, made another appointment, explained what the appointment was for, showed up and waisted my time!! Still NOTHING WAS FIXED!! WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO DO WITH A DAMN 1500 DOLLAR COMPUTER THAT ONLY CONNECTS TO THE INTERNET HALF THE TIME!! ****Update**** Upper management got involved and resolved the issue. Took a few emails and phone calls, but at least they reviewed everything, answered, and rectified the situation. I have had ZERO issues with the replacement, wifi is full signal, no ghost mouse movements, no random freezing, more than 4 hour battery life, and keyboard stays connected. Andy assisted with my replacement and again, amazing service from him. He needs to be promoted!! I would very much like to give this a 5 star, but a couple tech guys and the "assistant manager" needs an attitude adjustment and some more people skills.

One of the worst store's I've ever seen when it comes to hosting gaming events. My little brothers team participated in the Fortnite NA Championship Qualifiers Tournament. They went on to get the top score of 31 points over two matches and the "MicroSoft Employee" Decided he had the power to change the rules for a North American Tournament Qualifier while in the midst of it. The last team that played had 16 points over 1 game and they were handed double the points because they ran out of time which gave them the spot for the tournament. My brothers teams top score in 1 game was 22 so if they were just going to base it off 1 game instead of two they still should have rightly won. They were changing the rules almost daily over a week or two and were still changing rules minutes before the tournament. Apparently microsoft employees have the power to make rules up mid tournament for a NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP qualifier. Breaks my heart to see such shady sportsmanship from an official event in a microsoft store. -10/10 sad cause they would cream any other team in that store what a waste of a qualifier slot.

After a while we did not find anything that fits what she needs. So we browse around the store looking for the VR. She wanted to try one since she has never experienced. The Greeter was welcoming, and it's pretty inside, but it took me 3 times of saying "Excuse me" to the salesman, who was jabbering on to his friend, to acknowledge me, I asked a simple question and got a fast answer that I didn't understand. Before I could ask more about it- he had walked away. When I got home and looked it up online it turned out that his answer was complete nonsense. No thank you, I'm better off buying things I've never even seen online or from a guy in an ally than at this store.

If have to go to the Microsoft store then go woodfield, this place is bad. I think they are use to dealing with new money, so dumb people will spend anything on crap. Woodfield is more down to earth 100% more. I have a windows phone and it wont connect to WiFi this is the 2nd phone. They would not re-place the screen protector that had to be taken off. "they did not carrie that brand anymore" Even though it was bought from them for $35.00. They would not replace the charger, bad that wont work $55.00 don't carry that one any more. I was there for 3 hours then finally the kid says your phone is not good. Takes a phone out and that phone was no good I could tell by how long it was taking to download things. Now I am stuck with a 650.00 phone that doesn't work with WiFi , overheats, drops calls and just sucks. My computers are also doing the same Wifi problem. I think Microsoft is bad company all around. My note edge work's my wife's iphone work's, ipad works Macbook works. Windows nothing works. Before you invest anything with this company make sure your ready for a big let down. Now they are forcing windows 10 on people get it now your you will need to pay... I will never in my life buy any MS product and I mean that. If I could play games on Chrome os I would never look back. I have a PS4 I was thinking about xbox 1 no way....
