I will say— I had water damage on my Mac AND I had AppleCare +, the souped up AppleCare! Dan was still a better deal by far. He fixed my computer in less than 24 hours (Apple would take one week minimum) and he was half the price. Apple would have chaeged me $300, he charged $150. Also— Apple was like— this is horrible water damage! You almost need a new computer! (Which I later found out they try to do when your Mac gets damaged) and Dan said, let me assess and see what is possible. He didn’t over promise but didn’t try to sell me a new computer either. Overall, I would definitely recommend him. If you have damage to your computer— check out Dan before buying a new computer, he just might fix it faster for half the price. (He also checks in within a month to make sure everything is going ok. Can’t beat that customer service).

Dan has been working on my computers and my relatives computers since I was lucky enough to find him 2 years ago. Back then he turned my Toshiba P305-S8842 laptop into a true "hot rod" by upgrading the two 200 GB hard drives to 2 TB, as well as the operating system and safeguards for viruses and spyware. Then he gave me a complete and valuable lesson in computer maintenance demonstrating everything from how to regularly clean the dust out, to what surface to operate the notebook on. He recently built me a high end desktop system which he customized to meet my online, office, storage, high end audio and home theater needs. Dan was extremely patient and saved me a great deal of money by doing quite a bit of research on the latest available components and prices. Before we settled on the final selection of components, Dan gave me four different packages and took the time to explain each one in detail to suit my needs. Dan then came to my house and set up the unit with my surround sound system and configured all software so it works perfectly. The system that we finally decided to go with is incredible and I will realistically not have to upgrade this computer for the next ten years!Just to give an idea of how good this system really is, here are a few of the components: *Corsair 600T Mid-Tower Case *Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 Motherboard (This is where he saved me over $200 by explaining the superiority of the built in sound card on this motherboard, over a separate high end audio card that was recommended by an audiophile colleague of mine. Dan is terrific! My laptop was presumed dead by Apple Support. Apple offered to have me send my laptop to them (while I pay all shipping costs) to have them take a closer look and even if they aren't able to fix it I would still have to pay several hundred for their time. I then took my laptop to other tech repair places in the city. They gave me estimates ranging between $200-$300 with no guarantee of actually fixing my laptop. I was upset and experiencing all the stages of grief until a friend referred me to Dan. Dan was incredibly flexible and accommodating to my schedule. As I was explaining what happened he began cleaning my laptop for me! He took the time to listen to me and to explain how he'll fix my laptop. His rates are incredible. My laptop was fixed and the data was restored in less than 24 hours! I am so grateful for Dan and the time he took to not only fix my laptop, but to speak/listen to me as a kind human being. My laptop is running better than it was prior to it being presumed dead. Dan also had great tips for backing up my data in the future. I first found Dan and Technesia about a year ago when I was trying to keep my 20-ish year old lap top alive long enough to find a new one and transfer the files. While its age and some water damage made it impossible to salvage for work purposes, he was able to get it to turn on again and transferred the files for me, and it's still capable of acting as an emergency backup. Then, about a month ago, my new laptop's screen started fritzing out; Dan was able to get it up and running in about 10 minutes. It is super easy to schedule, service is fast, pricing is great, and he knows what he's doing. Getting to hang out with his dogs while he works is a huge bonus too!

I live couple blocks from this place and never knew this computer repair place; it looks like a regular south-philly home with 'Te' logo on the window. Doesn't look like store at all. So I brought my laptop to Dan after it stop booting and showing error messages. He diagnosed and found out that the hard drive is damaged. Couple months ago I had the same exact problem with this laptop. I went to a computer store down the south to get it fixed and now the same problem came back again. I found out that the other computer store replaced my hard drive with a USED hard drive, they couldn't save my data from the old hard drive (they said the hard drive is unreadable) and they said it would cost me around $1500 to get my data recovered by other company. Now I have 2 dead hard drives with my work documents. Within 2 days I got a call from Dan. He successfully recovered all my work documents and photos from my old hard drives. He ordered a new hard drive, cleaned the computer (he even show me the photo of all the dust inside my laptop) and turn my dead Dell laptop into a working laptop. I am amazed by his ability to recover all my files and photos while the other 'big named' computer store couldn't do it. Not only good at what he do, Dan also an easy-to-talk tech guy. Fast, Cheap, Great service... He deserve more than 5 Stars! I would recommend him for all tech needs.

They said my laptop couldn't be repaired. Your plan was to install a new hard drive. You explicitly told me I would lose all my files. I took it to Wise Guy off South St and after their diagnosis they were able get it working again, did not lose any work/files, still kept a password. Wiping my computer and losing years of files is not a repair.

Haven't even been to the shop. but I can tell these guys deserve a 5 star rating. I've upgraded my Late 2013 3TB fusion drive to 1SSD and I've had some questions about the SSD that I installed and the SSD that is built in to the motherboard. EVERY SINGLE SHOP I called wanted me to come in to setup appointments, I even called shops in Cali and NYC they all wanted the same thing. but the guys at Technesia actually cared enough to talk to me over the phone and answer all my questions without charging a single penny. That tells me that actually care about what the do and love what they do. forever thankful.

Dan helped get my Sony Vaio back in working order, with a few upgrades to the hard drive and operating system. Talked me through the process, gave me some options, even purchased parts right there with me from internet vendors. Whole process was painless. I also thought the pricing was extremely reasonable. I brought in a mid-2010 Macbook Pro with what I thought was a failing screen, which was replaced at a reasonable cost. The new (used) screen continued to show the same symptoms. Dan was responsive to diagnose that it was in fact my logic board. After putting back my original screen he replaced the logic board for a slightly more monetary outlay in a timely manner. All-in-all my experience was excellent. I highly recommend Technesia for sensitive and reasonable repairs.

I admit I was a bit skeptical dropping my laptop off at a South Philly row home, but I took a chance after reading all of the 5 star reviews for Dan's business. And I have to say I'm very satisfied! My laptop had some bad RAM and I'm too out of practice to fix it myself. I dropped it off, Dan got back to me promptly confirming my suspicions, ordered new RAM and had it fixed as soon as the memory was delivered. His price was very reasonable and I'm very happy with the results! He gives you a receipt when he takes your computer, and sends an email receipt for the payment when everything is complete. He's super friendly and has 2 very sweet dogs too you can say hi to also! :) I'd definitely consider him for future business if I ever have something go wrong again.

I found Technesia / Dan on yelp!. After Apple told us we had water damage, needed a new board and an $800 plus repair, I took our 2015 Macbook Pro to Dan. Contrary to Apple, he diagnosed a problem with the screen that Apple's proposed repair would not have fixed. A few days later, we were back in business. Dan answered all of my questions, sent me photos of the problem parts, indulged me on a few tests I requested, and fixed the problem for a fair price. Oh, and there was no water damage.

Dan is a computer magician!! I had all but given up on my laptop ever working again, when I read these reviews on Yelp and decided to take it to Dan as a last ditch effort. My logic board fried a few months ago (supposedly, a fairly common problem with early 2011 macbook pros) which caused my battery to expand, which also caused my mouse pad to pop out (let's just say, the poor thing had a lot of issues...). I had taken out the battery myself, but the fried logic board would only allow my laptop run for about 3 minutes at a time before it would crash on me. Dan was able to repair my logic board(!!), which saved me hundreds of dollars from buying a new one. He also popped my mousepad back in and the whole thing looks brand-spanking new. He kept my laptop for about 2 days to see how it survived and gave me lots of great updates and tips along the way. He also said he's going to check back in after a week or so to see how it's doing. Basically, he's great. A++ would recommend!

Dan did a great job! Needed the screen replaced on my mid 2014 MBP 15" retina , he was able to start same day and had the entire job done two days later flawlessly. He prices very fairly and he knows what he is doing. If you need work done on your Mac dont even think twice about WASTING your time and money on Apple's "Geniuses" .. the only thing they are a genius about is scamming you with outrageous prices ... Technesia is definitely the best place in Philly for Mac & Apple repairs: Fair pricing, gets the job done fast and does it well. Will definitely be recommending them to all my friends.

I had a mac that went down on me. I love my mac and I did every thing I could to get it back up and running, and I am pretty good. I found Dan ( Technesia ) on craiges list. I told him my problem and he said (no problem bring it in and I will get it back up). THE NEXT DAY HE HAD IT FIXED!!!. They where awesome, nice, and not expensive at all. If you're looking for a great laptop repair show that won't rip you off and be given confidence that quality work will be given, Technesia/ Dan is your man. Honest, humble, and prompt. My laptop screen prior to taking to Technesia, wouldn't even turn on. I also had lose wires popping out, a cracked hinge, and my bottom base boards coming undone. Dan did a great job addressing those issues. I also requested him to clean up my laptop to run it more efficiently, and now it runs a lot faster than it did when it came out of the box. Best Buy’s geek squad wanted to send it out to the manufacturer and do this and that with charge upon charge. My laptop just had an issue with connection from my battery charger. It was loose inside my laptop and Best Buy wouldn’t even touch it to look at it. Dan opened it up and dismantled it with delicacy and ease to find the issue. He repaired it overnight and I was on my way, still works fine now over a month later. It hard to trust people with your devices that aren’t from the manufacturer but trust this guy.
