The tech person arrived on time and was able to find out what the problem was in very little time. And said what needed to be needed/done and I agreed to what needed to be done to have a new PC installed and to have my old HD fixed. and I should have my files from it uploaded to my new PC in a few days. And I learned my lesson always back your files up.

Optimized my connectivity and search options and made sure all of my essential programs are updated to the most current version. Also gave me a heads up on what changes to expect in the near future from some software providers and their related programs. I called because Microsoft 10 had automatically downloaded to my computer and it showed that i had no wireless interenet, although when I first came in with the update I was able to use the wireless, and then it cut out and showed my wireless was there but i could not connect. So i called my wireless provider, naturally I had already done the restarting of routers and all that good stuff, EXCEPT restarting the computer, so when I restarted the computer the wireless capability completely went away, it was as if we had never had wireless before. Mind you this is happening at work, where I need to be connected to the internet, so I called Nerds to go at around 11:00am, by the time i gave all my information he told me he had a guy that would call a half hour before he gets here which would be around 12pm, but by that time it was 11:30 and he just said oh well its 11:30, he'll be there around 12pm. Which was perfectly fine. The guy arrived promptly at 12pm, he told me we could try to do it one of two ways, either stick with the upgrade of windows 10 and he could try to get the wireless back, or go back to the windows 8 (i think) that we had. I told him lets try to stick with the upgrade, (why not?). Well, that didn't work, he was able to connect to the wireless but then when he restarted the computer the same thing happened again. So we wound up going back to the old windows I had, he made some adjustments so that upgrades or downloads could not automatically happen they would need my approval. And then at the end took my PC outside and cleaned the whole dusty thing (it was bad, probably hadn't been moved in about 7 years). He was very knowledgeable, let me know step by step what he was doing, explained to me what was going on, and the fact that they were able to get to me with in an hour of me calling just spoke volumes about their customer service.

I first called geek squad but they said that they don't fix computers that get a virus. Then I called nerds to go. If it wasn't for nerds to go, I would of had to buy and thousand dollar computer.

SUPER HELPFUL! I could not get my wifi to work between my computer, printer, and scanner. A nerd came to me so there was none of the awkward over the phone trying to explain things to a 3 year old. (I may or may not be a little technology challenged). The nerd was super polite and awesome and helped me get everything fixed. Pleasant people. Convenient location. $150 for basic service diagnosis and virus removal seemed excessive. I make that statement by direct comparison to tech repair shops in San Diego Ca that literally replaced a cracked screen that I incurred during travel - on a while-you-wait basis for $99. Oh well -welcome to Guilford, CT - home of overpriced everything.

Noah was most helpful in two areas. He corrected our issue with a download problem. Too he moved to our desktop and helped make a procedure easy for a flashdrive. The thing that I liked he answered the questions asked in a simple easy to understand manner. You want to use these folks. Well where do I start! This company is full of liars... sold me a refurbished laptop, did not give me the CD that goes with it. This is how they get return business because they lie and say laptops or computers don't come with CD. That's not true! If like they saidbwas true then on the computer there would be a icon for it. Also they told me my laptop was new. Nope, it's years old and refurbished. JVR systems in Branford is much more honest, reliable and trustworthy.

I bought an old Windows 98 machine with a floppy Drive so it would run a program I had via floppy. I couldn't get it to connect and communicate with my Panasonic printer but, the techs got it fixed fast and for a reasonable price and even tested it out with my printer before I picked it up to make sure it would print. Everything works fine and i'd use them again.

I’d give zero stars if possible. I brought my laptop here already knowing I needed a CMOS battery changed. After they charged me for an unnecessary diagnostic fee (as I told them what was wrong with it) I was informed that the repair would take up to 5 days to complete (it’s a 15 minute job). I expressed my displeasure at not being informed of this until after I had already paid was told they were sorry for the “misunderstanding”. The battery was changed in the same day and when I arrived to pick it up I was surprised with further fees for the “service performed”. Also, when I pulled my laptop out of the bag they provided I found it to be covered in scratches that weren’t there when I dropped it off. They overcharge, fail to inform customers of pertinent information such as pricing and time frames, and damage property. Save yourself the aggravation and some money and just go somewhere else

The guys here are absolutely amazing! Keith and Ben are some of the nicest guys around, and I would recommend going here to anyone at all, from one nerd to another! I brought my laptop in as it was having issues overheating, so we thought. They fixed up a few issues I DID have with the laptop, but a few weeks later I noticed the issue hasn’t been resolved. In the end, I brought it in again, and they looked it over for about a week trying to figure out what was wrong, only to find out it was a manufacturer’s error. They still tried to fix it after this, Ben especially, but could not, as the company’s error made it too risky for them to keep trying without possibly resetting my computer. These two did all they could, and on top of that, to go above and beyond, they offered to loan me a laptop I could use if I had to send mine to the manufacturer to be repaired. Being a college student, if I had to send my computer out to the manufacturer, and be without a computer for some time, I would have some issues doing my classwork. So, these two offering to loan me a laptop means the world to me, and truly shows how dedicated to the customer these guys at Nerds To Go are! Keith and Ben are exceptional employees of Nerds To Go. They will definitely have my business as long as they are here, and I’ll be sure to recommend them to all my friends!

When we went into the Guilford, CT Nerds To Go store Brandy was so knowledgeable and helpful we knew right away we had made the correct decision to use their company. These guys resurrected a laptop that showed all the signs of having a dead hard drive--and they did it extremely quickly and at a very reasonable rate. Once they got the laptop up and running, they also made sure everything was in peak operating condition--cleaning the interior, removing bloatware/malware, optimizing settings. This laptop that I'd given up for dead is now running like it's brand new. These guys are highly, highly recommended.

Huge shout out to these guys who just saved my butt today big time! I had cracked my screen on an otherwise good 6S iphone. I had them replace it, and then started having other major issues. Phone would shut off and try endlessly rebooting, but failing. I'm an engineer and figured it had to be their work, or the new screen. I started to get frustrated with my experience, but I went back in and calmly explained the problem, left the phone with them for a couple hours. These guys tore the phone apart, did their troubleshooting, and by the time I got back it was fixed! My phone is my lifeline for my job/livelihood, and these guys fixed it, and didn't charge me anything extra. Saved my butt, my phone, my job, and the relationship. Thank you Nerds!

Came here a while back to get my iPod 2nd generation screen replaced, the glass was broken, but the digitizer and everything else worked fine. When I got it back, the glass was fixed, but they had broken the digitizer. The screen was all white and completely unusable. I told them about this, and asked them to fix it and they tried to CHARGE ME $40 FOR IT! Unbelievable, I will never use this service again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone else!
