I purchased my Mac Pro on a Saturday night online and arranged for a Sunday pickup...The next day prior to the appointment a friend had told me about a school promotion where you get $100 off plus free Beat Headphones...! After arriving I was paired with Celine, who was ultimately able to return my original order and resubmit a second order so I would benefit from this promotion...! So here's the deal...This young lady handled this like a boss...! She didn't quit until she found the solution, which wasn't easy for her as Apple's system wasn't letting her do this very easily, but she talked with a manager and was able to get it done..! Celine was quite possibly one of the best customer service professionals I have ever experienced...! So once again I'm thoroughly impressed with Apple not only because of their outstanding products, but also because of the outstanding people...! So thank you Celine....! Five stars for the staff. Friendly people all around. Three stars because it's Apple and I cannot stand their software or OS. Not the worst Evil organization (lookin' at you EA and Activision). However still just an over priced babies-first-computer. It was upon this visit to the genius bar my wife realized just how many people had stupid little bugs and ticks with their Apple products and has since decided when she's ready to upgrade her phone and computer that she'll be actually upgrading to something worth her time and money.

I got to the store early 10:30 AM, and was informed it would be a 2 hour and 30 minute wait for the next technician to inspect my BEATS Headphones which I informed them broken and could not power on. Meanwhile there are several Apple Employees standing around chit chatting with other Apple Employees. I was finally helped around 12:45 PM, which only took two minutes for the Technician to inform me my product was broken and would need to be sent back to Apple for servicing. APPLE STORE IN SAN LUIS OBISPO IS THE WORST WITH THE LONGEST WAIT EVER!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT COOL!!! also THEY CAN GREATLY IMPROVE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE ABILITY TO HELP CUSTOMERS BY HIRING MORE skilled and knowledgeable TECHNICIANS, WHICH WOULD ALSO PROMOTE A DECREASE IN WAIT TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "Geniuses" at this Apple Store exceeded the expectations of me and my parents, when we brought in 3 devices sharing the same Apple ID and AT&T account with a tricky problem to solve. Our expectations were low but we left the store 4 hours later feeling very happy with their helpfulness. My mom and I both have older iPhones, and she recently added a brand new iPad Air to the family AT&T account. Somehow, Apple's system arbitrarily associated my iPhone's number with my mom's iPad, which fouled up her ability to use iMessage and FaceTime. We wanted one thing: to dis-associate my phone number and associate her phone number with her iPad. As we knew before we made our appointment, this would be easier said than done. Fortunately, the "Genius" who was assigned to us (his name was Sam) quickly reached the same conclusion that I already had - sharing an Apple ID among so many devices being used by different people was the source of the problem, along with Apple's system tying my phone number at random to my mom's iPad. And so began a 4 hour marathon of waiting to back up photos and videos from my mom's iPhone to her iPad, updating my mom's old iPhone 4 from iOS 6.1.3 to 7.1.2, and then Sam was able to actually take the necessary actions to fix the root of the problem. Thus began another marathon of logging devices out of Apple accounts and logging back in again. In the end, everything was fixed and working the way we wanted them to! My iPhone was on its own Apple ID. My mom's iPad was using her iPhone's number and her iPhone was updated. iMessage and FaceTime were working on the iPad. Her data was backed up. And nobody at the Apple store tried to shoo us off after 10 minutes. They understood that this was going to be a LONG process and we were accommodated accordingly. Thanks to Sam and everyone else at the Apple store who pitched in!

Check in is busy and chaotic. They need a much better system. I got shoved out of the way by people who refused to wait in line and the employees didn't really care. I had an appointment. 15 minutes past my appointment time they were calling and helping people who came in behind me. What was the point of an appointment? It's very disorganized, needs better management. The saving grace is that the geniuses know their stuff.

I would give them a negative star , waited for over thirty minutes . Husband told greater interested in purchasing an iPad . Greater ack owledged went torwards the back like he was going to retrieve one , but instead came out empty handed and helpled someone else. Also there were 3 staff members just standing around in the middle of the store not helping customers. This is the second time we have had this type of service here. I dont normally right reviews but we expect way better from apple. To top it off you can not find a suitable place to write a complain via email. Really dissapointed in apple.

Set up an appointment for 12:50, arrived at 12:35 and the guy told me to come back when it was closer to my turn. So I waited until 12:50 and then he was like okay just hangout for a bit longer. Waited until about 1:05 and still no help. Taking my business elsewhere to get my screen fixed and for a lot cheaper too. Don't go here unless you HAVE to. Apples screwing people of money and their time

I have never been so disappointed with customer service. After spending over $2500 on computer and assessories I tried to return/exchange an iPad keyboard. I was refused since it over the two week limit for returns. I was told by the salesperson that I had 30 days to return/exchange. Bummer!

Let me start out by saying that there is NOTHING genius about this bar. I went in this morning to get a new phone via the upgrade program... simple, right? Somehow during this process, Luigi and his offensive breath had successfully programmed my mom’s(who, mind you, lives across the country and has no idea what is going on,) phone number onto MY phone. Two hours and three “geniuses” later, I walked out with no new phone and when I asked the store manager what to do, he had no resolution for me. Truly the worst experience I have ever had. This place is a total sh*%show. Please train your employees thoroughly before throwing them out onto the floor. WHAT.A.DISASTER.

Trying to make an appointment at the "genius" bar was a very frustrating experience. Neither online tech support, over the phone scheduling, nor the in store employees seemed to know how to set one up. When I finally found someone on the phone willing to take a stab at it, he needed the phone's serial number and a lot of other extra information to set me up. Why? I'm currently on hold, where I have been for 20 minutes. Clearly the employee handling my call is waiting for me to just hang up. Nice job, Apple. I'm very disappointed. Oh, I went by the store earlier today to try to get help there, but was met with apathy and indifference. All I wanted was an appointment!! Avoid the store, avoid Apple I guess. Really a drag! PS I gave them one star because Google reviews requires at least one to allow me to post the review. If that weren't the case, I would have not given this store any stars. Really disappointed.

Busy place but the staff compliment the product! Way to go SLO Apple Store. There are two nearby public parking spots, the one near Barnes and Noble always has an open spot and is close enough to walk around the block to get to the Apple Store.

Terrible customer service. I walked in with an issue with my iPhone and the guy standing with his iPad by the front door treated me like I wasn’t worth his time or energy. His attitude was just plain nasty and uncalled for. If you don’t want to deal with customer issues, then maybe just maybe don’t work in a customer service field.

My G5 tower died this morning. I was horrified. Horrified and panicked. The thing wouldn't even boot up. It was however six years old, so hoping (praying) it was a small issue I took it in. Turned out to be the logic board which was about $500 to replace. Still cheaper than a new computer, or so I thought. Back in the day my G5 was about $2500. Then the tech explained to me that the brand new Mac Minis had comparable, if not better specs than my old G5. Not only did I get a new computer for only $100 more, but they also were able to recover everything on my hard drive, and I was basically able to plug-in and go. Still had all of my apps, and all of my data. These guys came THROUGH for me today.

They are well staffed, but the staff isn't necessarily friendly. They are a bit pushy, and the person we were dealing with was very sarcastic. Came in to get a new iPhone and it took nearly 2 hours, the sales person I was dealing with was joking about how long it was going to take, but it took longer! It came to the point that the manager had to come out to get it to work and then it only took 15 minutes. Manager was super nice and helpful but the other people were terrible.

Purchased new iPhone XS and was helped a by very kind employee Fundip. She made the whole process very easy. I was not rushed and she answered all of my questions. I was worried about all of my data transferring over and she made the whole process clear and easy. We had some hiccups with email and she took the time to get it all figured out for me, instead of rushing me out with instructions. I really appreciated her help and would highly recommend this Apple Store.

I went into the store with having phone charging issues the guy took it to the back to clean it with their special to and told me he did the best he could although it still didn’t work fully and suggested that I should look into a new one. A couple weeks later I am telling my friend about my phone, so he grabs an air compressor and a grinderd down bike spoke and cleans out the charger port with no issues and found it covered in dust. Now my phone charges like new...

In an attempt to activate a new IPhone...second visit to this Apple location in San Luis Obispo. Previously was told I needed an Apple ID and Password....OK...got it. Needed help in transferring photos, emails, and contacts from a Samsung....staff was very helpful - Katherine and Ryan exceeded normal customer service...thank you for that. Transition has been made....now how to learn the IPhone world after 10 years with SAMSUNG.

SUCKED with a capital "S" - I bought my Ipad at this store a few months ago. I have an applicatioin for my aircraft called "Foreflight" that I was having problems with. Online help said to go to the general settings and enable location services on the Ipad. I couldn't find location services in the general settings menu so I called the store for a little help. Anyone on the floor could have told me that it was under general settings, privacy, location services which I got off an internet help site. At the Apple Store I was told I was out of warranty and couldn't talk with a support specialist without ponying up some dough for extended warranty service - blah blah blah. I told the guy it wasn't that involved - just tell me what its under in the menu. He said, "I'm not a support specialist so I can't tell you. I told him I didn't care if he wasn't a support specialist just tell me where to look - oh no he couldn't do that. I wasn't asking him to debug some complex problem over the phone - just tell me what drop down menu I need. They were right there to answer every question I had when I was spending $500 but ask a simple question 3 moths later and it was go "F" yourself. Great customer service you have there - I don't think I'll be back to buy anymore Apple products at this store.

I’ve been an Apple customer since the Apple IIe came out, before the Macintosh existed. I’ve followed them and rooted for them (because I love their products), through near bankruptcy to becoming the most successful company in the world. Throughout all of these years I have never written a review of any kind about Apple, although I could have written many about their excellent products and service. Because of this, I feel bad about writing this negative review about my local Apple Store. They’re doing quite well if this is their first slipup with me after all these years... I walked in today having done my homework and knowing exactly what I wanted, a Gold 128 GB 9.7” iPad. I would have ordered it online, but it was a last minute gift decision, and I wanted it in hand. I walked in to the store, which was busy as usual. Even during these times in the past, it seems someone was able to help me within a couple of minutes. I could not find a sales person who wasn’t engaged, and it seemed there were fewer than usual. I walked back to the front of the store and told the “greeter” that I wanted to buy an iPad. He told me it would be 20 minutes before a sales person could help me. I told him that I didn’t have the time to wait, and that I’d just order it online... from Costco. He seemed to think that was a good idea, and encouraged me to do so. I saved $30 by doing so (how can Costco undersell Apple on their own product?), but the birthday gift will be late. Oh well. Guess I’ll check Costco first next time. This store was robbed in the last week. Maybe they’re still shook up about it.

I purchased accessories here that fell apart after a few months....@ $80. a pop! They asked me if I had pets who could have been chewing on the cord (check out the net to see other happy customers regarding this very dangerous issue)....I do not use Apple products my child does...I have an antiquated ipad and air which I purchased a few years ago...I go with Google now. They refused to replace even though it was only a few months old. I did go to the Macstore on Los Osos Valley road and the products there even looked much more durable ....go figure and the people working at the Mac store on Los Osos valley road are MUCH nicer. stay away from this TOXIC store!

I have been shopping here since it opened. Our family has many Apple products and they all work, even after many years. Whenever I need help figuring out something, the staff is happy to help. If I have a broken cord, it is usually replaced. I don't agree with everything Apple does, ( not having enough products when first released and having to order them online, having to make appointment when I have equipment issues,...) However, I appreciate the fact that there is a store that can help me with my devices. When I had other phones, there was not a store that would offer free workshops to learn more about them. The staff is friendly to me and my family and quick to offer help if needed. For repairs on devices not under warranty, I go to iMechanic or Mac Superstore. I have read reviews about cords and other things like that. Apple products are great but not indestructible, buy Apple Care if you can. All in all this store does a good job at helping people get the most out of their devices. I encourage going to the free workshops if you want to learn more.

This is my second time needing to go into the Apple Store for two different reasons, but in both cases I was welcomed in and treated very kindly and professionally. The first time was a while ago, and I had to wait because it was a walk in appointment, the second time I booked a genius appointment and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. In both situations, I was lucky to work with Miles (one of the geniuses at Apple)! Miles has been very educational and has outlined my options in both cases to where I feel as informed as possible when making decisions. It's really important to me that I can trust someone with anything that I would purchase at apple, whether its my phone or my laptop. If everyone there is as awesome as Miles then I will definitely be returning for any and all Apple things.

I decided to upgrade to an iMac computer from my HP and did a lot of research prior to going in. I knew what I wanted but had a few questions. I checked in and was helped pretty quickly but the lady who helped me wasn’t knowledgeable at all (older with short, red, streaked hair). She had to go find a genius for multiple questions and would come back and give me a diluted version of the genius’ explanation instead of just asking him to come over. She was speaking to me like I didn’t know what I was talking about and seemed irritated that I wasn’t just outright ready to buy. She told me she’d give me time to decide and walked away to help someone else. I went back to the check in guy and asked for someone else to help me. Brandon came over and he was super nice and helpful. If it wasn’t for him I would’ve given this a 1 star rating and not purchased anything.

Worst customer service ever!! Also, the people don't know their right hand from their left! Placed an order for an in store pick up. Item was signed for and there on 9/19. Went to pick it up on 9/22 and after waiting for over an hour to be helped, they say they have no record of the order. I have a ups tracking # saying it was signed for at their front desk, yet they say they have no record! WTH!! I was told to contact the Online Apple Store by phone to trace it!! I am now home which is 5 hours away, call the Online Apple Store and they trace it and say it is there!! Geez....now I have to wait until 10am to call the damn store and see if they can find the item and IF they do, see if someone else can pick up the item for me. This is the 4th time I've had a problem with this store. I will NEVER go back again. I will now do all of my business at the Sprint Store or Best Buy!!!

Drove 50 mins after being on the phone with Apple and being told we just had to go pick up new phones. We got to the location and they told us something completely different than what we were told on the phone about upgrading. We left empty handed to drive 50 mins back. We called ahead of time to avoid these issues and the worse part was the comment when the manager told us to forget everything we had been told prior to him because it was wrong and he was right.

Behind its shiny doors and sleek showroom Apple has quite the ugly personality. Their products are garbage wrapped in a cute little box and their staff will somehow patronize you while also having absolutely no people skills. My iPhone's screen somehow gradually came out of its casing so I coughed up $200 to have it replaced. Only a few months later the clock was suddenly unable to keep time and the phone couldn't even perform simple tasks such as receiving texts and checking email. They asked if I’d like to buy a new one for $500... I will never buy an Apple product again. I used to be naive and thought this was one of the greatest companies, but I now realize it’s all just a little act they put on.

My son's 3 yr old iPod broke - I went to the apple store to get it repaired - it is a 50 mile round trip for me to go to the store - no repair - after 3 years it is considered an antique and can only be replaced by a refurbished model - at great cost of course. I went back to make the deal - I was left standing for 20 mins. before anyone noticed me - then I was told it would be 50 mins for an appointment - an appointment to give them money!!!! I left - I tried to call later when I had finished my errands in town to see if they were less busy - the phone tree can't understand my accent so I gave up and went to the store. 5 min wait - then at least someone said they could see me in 10 mins. I waited (my mood was not improving - at all) they explained the refurbished one could take up to a month and that when it arrived I would only have 5 days to come and get it - I explained that I couldn't get there often and that it was a long trip - "Maybe we can mail it" he said - I left - 3 days later I get the call - my Ipod is waiting for me - "mail it" I say - "Nope" - can't do that - "hold it a week I can't get there before" I ask - you would have thought the girl was doing me the world's greatest favor as she 'secretly' agreed to hold it for a week. I will go in a week and find out if it is there!! - and give them money for the privilege! Apple thinks they are special - they should be glad that somebody does!

When I went to the Apple store my mom and I were interested in the Apple upgrade program. So josh came to us and talked about it. We decided we were going to do it but the iPhone XR did not have the service that we were on. Then josh said that all the other phones had the service that we were on. So we went to the iPhone XS and we got that and went through the whole process and then he said that it did not work with any of them. Then my mom and I left. After that I had the worst weekend ever. I was so sad that I was not talking to anyone. So that was the worst experience at the Apple store because of that stupid idiot josh guy.

Now that Mac Superstore has closed and turned into an El Pollo Loco, I am left with the actual Apple store. Now, the Apple store is not a bad place, and it's interesting in its own way to see what products there are. But the wait time for the genius bar is just a little too much for me. A tip an employee told me: Wait outside at 9:45 (they open at 10) and they will put you on the waitlist. When I brought in my laptop, it was OF COURSE working perfectly fine. But the gentleman that helped me was helpful and provided a solution in case the problem persists. In general, the staff is friendly enough and the place is always so clean!

I woke up this morning to a completely black MacBook screen and a laptop that wouldn't turn on which is obviously very concerning. I'm a student and my MacBook has all my college class notes and files as well as photos from high school. When I went to the Apple Store to get help right at the 10am opening I was told I would have to wait 2 hours. I register for classes at 11am so I started crying because literally everything has gone wrong for me today. Instead of being sympathetic the old man who was booking my appointment asked have a lot of important stuff on here? And I said yeah all of my high school photos and I'm just really worried I lost them. To which he condescendingly replies oh those are your whole life huh? Which makes me start balling because I really don't need a millennial dig thrown at me while looking at a potentially very expensive MacBook fix that my college income is not going to cover. Long waits and unsympathetic employees are what you should expect here.

Went to This store to have the glass fixed front and back on a 4s, after being directed to the back of the store to wait in line for Miles; As I patiently waited I was passed over four times, and then apologized to for him blowing me off "quote" I was then informed that they could fix my phone, but then informed they could not. I had another store change the back out, and now they wont touch it. the man apologized and walked away. I would agree with all others that claim this store has the worst customer service. as experienced today; I am completely blow away, by the simple lack of respect and simple wiliness to help. Not only did they not help me, they allowed me to leave the store as an unsatisfied and now a very un-loyal customer. I would rate this with zero stars, but it forces me to put one at least one star in order to publish it. It is not deserved, nor earned.

My Daughter took her out-of warranty MacBook Pro there for service. She had previously taken it to the Berkeley Store, where she attends school, and they mis-diagnosed the problem. As it turns out, she needed a new Logic Board and a MagSafe/Port board. Normally this would cost over $1,500. But because the Berkeley store messed up, this store covered the costs. She didn't have to pay anything. We are so happy. Thank you for your support.

I have never used the support foe Apple. My first experience with both phone and support was exceptional. In the store with an appointment I was helped in about 10 to 15 minutes. On this day the were really busy. The person that helped me Sat with me for about an hour to figure out what the problem was since it was between my phone and Apple watch. I was really impressed with the t r double shooting and explaining e very thing she did. You might sYmpathy an hour is a long time but I spent a morning trying resolve it myself and then called support and we spent another hour to try to resolve over the phone. Since I have been so attached to my watch I was elated when all my problems where resolved. Thank you to Apple staff

My husband and I went to the Apple Store on Higuera to see if the new Apple watch was available to look at prior to the pre-order date. We were greeted by three young people who would not let us past the front of the store until interrogating us about our purposes. Then, after telling us the watches were not yet available, they still would not let us go beyond their imaginary line to browse the store... I guess we didn't pass their "snob" check. I think I've been using Apple products since before some of them were born :-) Don't bother going into their store. Shop on-line or go to the Mac Superstore on LOVR.

I first arrived at the Apple store and I made an appointment at the Genius Bar and the women said it would be 10 to 15 minutes.So we decided to walk around and just wait for them to text us when they where ready. So after about 20 minutes and no text back we decided to head back to the store. The women checked us in and told us to wait in the back and we would be helped shortly. We ended up waiting in the back for about an hour. When we were finally helped the man had no idea what he was talking about and could not fix our issue. Then later in the car I researched my problem and was able to figure it out myself. I would not recommend going to this location the people working in the store only really cared about you if you were buying something.

Long story short, got a iphone 6 for $325 30 days ago with 90 days warranty. Device stared having issues (soft/hardware we don't know). We tried everything they said to fix it but no luck, (couple of trips involved) they couldn't fix it either. Apple can only give me $125 now for that device under "warranty" when I paid 325 30 days ago. The wait times are also extremely long but I wont complain on that since its the only store in the area. Staff are nice, professional and friendly though

My boyfriend and I were in this store for a good 20-25 minutes and no one asked us if we needed help. We had to reach out to someone even though we had many people walk by and say nothing. Finally, when we got someone’s attention they were very rude and unhelpful. Definitely wouldn’t reccomend this location.
