Terrible service. I go with a question regarding a potential purchase of software on their main website. The employee tells me that I just have to use any old iTunes gift card and not an Apple Store Gift Card. I tell him that I have researched this and that doesn't seem right. He assures me that the iTunes card will work. I go home and try to purchase the software with an iTunes card and what do I see when I finish filling out all of the information? For payment it SPECIFICALLY says iTunes will not work for this purchase, only an Apple Store gift card. I will not be coming back to this location. I live in Santa Cruz, meaning this was a wasted trip and a waste of money

Called for reservation to replace battery and was on hold for twenty minutes. Hung up and went to store. They told me they don't take reservations, but they were booked. Basically Apple directs their staff to serve only for latest models.

This apple store made me lose faith in the Geniuses and turned me off Apple. I came in because my 2013 Macbook Pro was showing the error for crashed hard drive. The wait was long (fair for amount of people there for tech help) and in the end I was told my hard drive was completely dead and it would to $250+ (if I remember correctly) to replace it. When I asked if the hard drive was even remotely salvageable they replied no. I hadn't backed anything up so I opted not to have them replace it when a friend said they'd take a look and it was the far better choice. My friend, a computer engineer, pointed out a damaged connection wire was the problem, not the HD itself. He replaced the wire for $40 and I got to keep 6 years of photos and documents. Soooo, if he can find the real problem at home with 2 tools, why couldn't the Apple Geniuses find it with whatever they had at their disposal? Disclaimer, this happened a year-ish ago so maaayyybe some things changed?

What a waste of 2 1/2 hrs. My phone had problems from day 1. The "genius" did a so-called software fix which did nothing and I was told that is all they could do because their "diagnostics" showed no problem. Now the problem has gotten worse and They are trying to blame it on me and will not solve the problem because the warranty is up. Buyer beware. I think the plan is to do "software fixes" until the warranty expires and then you are screwed.

Rude service, went in yesterday to pick up my phone I bought outright online. The guy with the tattooed hand “helped me”. Complete douchebag. Proceeded to look at me as if I’m stealing something the entire time I’m in there even though he never even checked my ID to get my phone. Making it uncomfortable to continue to shop so I didn’t. 1 star because all he had to do was bring my phone I had already bought to the front and check my ID which I guess was tough.

Given wrong charger, had to return to exchange it. Nobodies fault but mine for not taking the MacBook Pro in and verifying (and for traveling with a charger that the cat chewed on). The stakes were high but the tech seemed confident. Had a meeting that night and a dead battery - had to wing it. Exchange the next morning was effortless.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Rude and Incompetent staff. I was sent to this store to have the battery in my wife's Iphone 6S replaced under the recall program. Apple tech support said it would be free of charge, and the apple web site showed my serial # is covered under the recall for a free battery. The store staff would not let me leave the store without paying $31.54. They deny the existence of the recall program for the 6S and was extremely rude and impatient. I had an impatient 3 year old with me so I didn't have any more time to waste and paid so I can get my wife's phone back and then left. When I got home, I called apple corporate, and they confirmed that my wife's phone (based on serial #) is covered under the free battery replacement program. Now I have to send them a copy of the receipt and wait 7 to 10 business days for a refund. This is not a new program, has been around for over a year and yet the del monte apple store staff know nothing about it, and when I told them about it, they refused to look it up! Horrible!

Get it together APPLE Every morning since the launch of the i pad 2 I have waited in line for the early opening to check if they have received stock. At store opening 9:00 am someone comes out to inform the line of the shipment contents. Usually its the wi-fi or Verizon version in very few quantity's. No at&T to be found You would think apple would advise the stores to take requests on a 1st come bases only allowing one per person. Someone in line ahead of me said they where able to purchase 2 i pads the day prior. Very disappointing customer service. come on apple you can do better than this...... Inform your loyal customers of the situation. I could live with a statment of "we just dont have the quanitys needed. All this guessing and running around is a real turn off.

This Apple Store is the worst Apple Store I have been to. My phone was having factory problems and I was told continuously that they did not know what was wrong with it. I had to take it to an other Apple Store in LA where they happily replaced my phone. They did not do anything do fix my phone, all they did was erase my software and reinstall it over and over again which did not fix the problem. Some of the workers were pretty rude. When I would ask questions they'll reply with dull answers such as "I don't know" or "It could be many reasons why your phone is having this problem".

I've now been to this store location four times and it has been excellent every time. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are a very busy store. Best to go right when they open (10am) if you have no appointment and want to get to the Genius Bar. I have taken only one work shop to date but it proved helpful. I have signed up for five future workshops as a result.

One guy says one thing, the next day another guys says something completely different regarding replacing a battery on an IPad Air. Keep your facts straight Apple!

I walked into the store and the two employees at the door did not even acknowledge me. Walked around the store for about 15 minutes until finally the employee I made eye contact with when I had entered the store asked me if I needed something. I told him I wanted to purchase a laptop for my daughter who is a student, he was not a friendly employee. I felt very discriminated. He began to tell me I couldn't get the Beats promotion because my daughter was not present. I explained to him I drove 1hr 15min to purchase laptop. I had to ask my daughter to send me a picture of her school schedule as proof she was a student and he had me show it to him in order to give me the free beats. This is not the first laptop I purchase at Apple and never had I experienced this treatment. In my previous purchase there was also a promotion and the employee did not question me and I was given a free printer with my purchase. I paid for the laptop and left the store, feeling humiliated and discriminated, the employee did not even give me a bag! I will not go back to make a purchase at this store! I will be going to San Luis Obispo from now on!

Dislike this store, they staff are very rude and seem to be racist. 1st visit waited around for someone to assist me for about 15 minutes, employees standing around talking not acknowledging me, only white people being assisted. Finally when assisted the employee was very rude asking what I wanted to buy and rushed through process as if she did not want to talk to me and hurry up and get it over with. 2nd visit waited around again for someone to assist me about 15-20 minutes, employees again still standing around talking assisting other people, white to be exact not being acknowledged again. I had to go and get someone my self to help me. When I got help I purchased mac book pro. I left review through the online survey about my experience, the manager contacted me that he does not like that this happened to me and is very disappointing to hear about his staff and that he would talk to them about it. 3rd visit, again not acknowledged waited around for a long time while no one says, I will be right with you or your next up or anything NO acknowledgment. Very unprofessional. Again all others being greeted and treated nicely. I will never bring my business to this store again, it is worth the drive to the San Jose Apple store. At least there the staff are very welcoming and assists all types of people no matter the race. Will not recommend this store to anyone!

Very disappointed in Apple's workers. We waited for over an hour to purchase an I pad while they were just walking around and talking to each other. Yes there were people in the store and some workers were with clients but what bugged me is that there was 2 workers just talking to each other while we just waited to get helped. I bought an Apple iPad, recently. I haven't used Apple in a few years because I became a Windows and Android user. However, after I bought my new Apple iPad I needed to learn how to use it. My friend tag along with me to see what I wanted to learn. We decided to take advantage of the offers of live instruction sessions at the Apple Store in the Del Monte Shopping Center. I enjoyed learning how to use iMovie and GarageBand. It didn't take long, either. I will attend more Apple tutorials in the Del Monte Shopping Center. You should try them out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

One of the worst Apple Stores you can seek service in. I went there twice for technical assistance. One time I was there for two hours, an agent has started working on my phone to fix it and then he left for break without telling me anything. Another agent came by and never knew what the first person had done with my phone. That is why he had to start over. He too left to help others and left me waiting to continue resetting the phone on my own. The third agent just took the easy way for him by exchanging the phone for me, which might sound as an advantage but it was not at all as my old phone was a couple of month old, and after getting the new one, I found that I had lost all of my videos, data, pictures and important apps. AND after all the same issue was still there with my account as it seemed to be. I went again, they reset the new phone again but the same technical issue was never resolved. I lost much time, effort and money as I lost several work hours. Even the supervisor I had to talk to never seemed to be understanding or appreciating that I was customer with three expensive devices from Apple as I showed him. They unfortunately cause Apple to lose new devices by giving them out unnecessarily to people while this can be saved by paying attention to what customers say about their devices and having the skill to solve issues, besides their need to communicate with each other to help solve problems faster and save customers time, effort as well as the much hassle they experience there. Sorry for this store is being given the name of American Apple store. Update (Aug. 2104): I went there two more times for the same device, on that third time i was for something different, after I had found a solution to my telephone's older issue by myself and which I found was really simple by changing a little thing on the settings!!!, I noticed that one agent was just replacing an I Phone for another customer for exactly my same old issue, making Apple again lose money although it was not the device but the settings. i could not just interfere and embarrass him! on the fourth time, I was so lucky to meet the manager, Laura, who was of great help, patience and knowledge. She was efficient enough to take me through a review page to let me know about the true solution for a new issue that Apple was not responsible for but Straight-talk, my service provider, was. I then had to go back home and call that provider and tell them they were just misleading me by asking me to contact Apple while they knew well it was them who disabled some feature on my devise! Horrendous customer service. I made an appointment for my recalled device and arrived a little bit early. My appointment was scheduled for 8:40 pm. The store closes at 9:00 pm. I opened the door to see 3-5 retail associates leaning on the display tables and talking amongst themselves. One greeted me, still leaning. Unfortunately I didn't catch this man's name but he caught an attitude with me pretty early in the exchange. I explained that I just wanted to drop off my device. I knew they probably had to send it off and that's why I just wanted to drop it off. He told me that there is no drop-off option and that all repairs are done in-house. I told him it was for a recall and my appointment was at 8:40, so did that mean I was going to sit there until 10 pm while they address the issue? He nonchalantly said, "no then they'll probably have it in the morning or maybe they'll ship it out or I don't know what they're doing." I asked again, then if they're shipping it off, what difference does it make whether I drop it off now or so near the store closing time? Rudely, he told me that the technicians are busy and he doesn't know what they are doing or what's happening. I asked to speak with someone who does know what's happening. He immediately backpedaled and said, "well it's not that we don't know what is happening...." and still did not refer me to a higher ranking individual. I thanked him very much for his time and left. I made an appointment at a different retailer altogether as soon as I exited the store. If you're thinking about purchasing a $1200 brick, you might want to reconsider, especially if this is the level of customer service that they provide. It's one thing to be truly unable to help, which I can understand. It is another to convey a complete UNWILLINGNESS to help AND cop an attitude about it. It is also infuriating to see so many of their associates just leaning on the tables and having a good ol' time while one of them half-assedly tells me to pound sand.

In all the years, and all of the various Apple Stores that I have been to across North America, I’ve never had a better experience than I have had here. I’ve now come to this store several times, bought several thousand dollars worth of items, dozens of people have interacted with me here—and every single time, it’s been PHENOMENAL. At first my iPhone was just a new gadget. Then I read Surveillance Capitalism by Zuboff, and it is not a toy at all! They know what I read before I have read it! The most powerful interests in the world use our devices to spy on us, constantly gathering info and using it with permission we are rarely aware of giving. To pay for this outrage is insane. I moved into the area recently, and have taken three of the workshops offered here. All have been taught by very knowledgable and personable employees. Each made sure we completely understood the concepts, and have even stayed after the session to help at least one person.I cannot say enough good things about the employees at the Del Monte Center store!!! The brand is quickly losing it's image as "The Best"..."Always on the cutting edge" for two reasons: 1. The entire product line is losing it's distinctiveness vis-a-vis the competition. 2. The "service" is out of sync with the times. No one has the time or patience to "wade" through all the communication "filters"before reaching a real person (e.g. the fake person that I have to 00 to get past - or to necessarily buy products on line..can't go into the local Apple store - buy the product and take it home...or set appointments on line vs.getting it done through a real person. And, finally, how about providing some REAL instructions - not a little fold out with cute pictures/diagrams - so we can "do it" on our own. It's depressing to see what was the premier American company "tank" so quickly. I've bought my last Apple product.

Went in with a dead, elder itouch. Expected to be told there was nothing to do but buy a new one. Kevin took a look at it, then took it away, came back a few minutes later with a now functioning itouch. He charged it, then told me how to restore it. Absolutely no pressure to upgrade. My husband asked him questions about iphones. Kevin answered all questions, and again, no sales pressure, just info. No monetary charge either for fixing the device. This type of absolute customer service is rare, given from the perspective of doing the best on the customer's behalf, not the company. Will definitely lead to return visits and a probable migration from my Android/PC world.

Can I give a zero? Because that's how much help they were after three hours. Two techs (and I'm using the term loosely) separately took breaks in the middle of my repairs and the third totally destroyed my device. Was worse off than when I entered the store. Unbelievable!!

Astronomical wait times with or without an appointment. They should serve lunch, seriously who cares if your "Apple" no body has 5 hours to waste for your equipment malfunction and then charge them. I recently paid a visit to the Del Monte Apple Store because my iPhone 5s battery had gone to waste. Out of nowhere, I suddenly went from getting all day battery usage to a maximum of one to two hours standby time. I made a tech support appointment with the Apple Store using the Apple website. On the day of the appointment, I arrived promptly but had to wait about 8 minutes before receiving service. The wait initially ticked me off, but when I told the technician about my battery issue, they immediately ran a diagnostic at the back of the store and came back out and said I qualified for a replacement phone. On the spot, I received a new iPhone 5s in exchange for my old phone which brought a huge smile to my face. Thanks Apple!

Unknowledgeable staff and long wait times is an understatement. After waiting for a Genius for 30 minutes, he stays with me for 5 then goes and helps another customer and this happened to me multiple times with multiple different employees seeing as they had no idea how to resolve the issue. I had to wait almost a full 2 hours before my service was completed and even then it was only brought back to me by a stroke of luck from the manager.

Rubbish customer service. I went there to fix my space bar without a reservation and the person at the gate said they simply just don't take walk-in. There's no customer at the Genius bar and she didn't even bother to check if someone's available or any customer had canceled his/her reservation.
