I was thoroughly screwed over today. I had cracked my iphone screen - the screen didn't look great, but it was working just fine.....until I dropped it off for a standard repair. When I came back they had incorrectly replaced the screen - in the process damaging the phone to the point where it couldn't be used at all. Now, I was told "sometimes that happens"....but no, unless you have incompetent people carelessly handling your phone it does not 'just happen'. Someone pressed on a wire too hard, or mishandled what should have been a perfectly standard repair job. I had to pay for a whole new phone. DO NOT HAVE YOUR PHONE REPAIRED HERE. It is very simple to go in and fix it yourself - or at the very least choose someone else to do it - that's what I should have done from the beginning but I didn't want to void the warranty.....now I have a whole new phone to reload and a big dent in my wallet. It's really my fault that I made the poor choice of supporting the apple brand. That was nobody's choice but mine. It's obvious to me now that their employees have no clue what they're doing, and their products get worse by the day. Thanks for the crappy service once again. Oh, and by the way, I won't point out which reviews on here are fake....as they are so poorly constructed, and obvious that even a monkey could point them out. Classy.

Going on 15 minutes on hold--awesome! Can't make an appointment on-line because my phone is not working which means I don't get the two factor identification needed to access any on-line support; who came up with this brilliant system??? I set up an appointment for a replacement battery two weeks ago. I asked if they were setting aside a battery for me, and the guy said yes that they would a battery for me. I come all the way to town to get it installed and now they don’t have one for me and want to have come back again whenever they get more which they have no idea when that will be!

The product is expensive but iv been told it's some of the best on the market. They offer a credit card with no interest that can help you get whatever item you want. Credit obviously is Involved.

My only experience was an iphone battery replacement. I didn't need the phone back right away, I just wanted to drop it off but the tech told me there was a two hour wait to check the phone in. So we spent the next 10 minutes checking me into their computer system. Then I waited 2 hours until I got a text saying they were ready for me to drop off the the phone. It took 3 minutes to drop off the phone. Do you see how silly this system is? Why make me sit and wait 2 hours? Unacceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful, but there is a serious problem with the way this was managed. I picked up the phone the next day and it works great, but the customer experience lacked common sense. I wish the managers could see that.

This is a great Apple Store. I visited this morning to replace my worn iPhone cable. I was greeted immediately upon entering by a young woman who inquired how she could help me. I told her what I was looking for and she helped me locate a new cable right away. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes time. Fast, friendly and efficient. An excellent experience.

Apple's business model of "in store" customer service is abysmal. It's not this location, it's the fact that there is no sympathy for walk-in customers at any Apple locations. Looking to problem-solve purchased apple products? Here are my solutions for Anchorage: 1) Alaska MacStore 2) Best Buy. Solutions for Apple, create a walk-in friendly staff that helps customers problem-solve the hardware that sold at your location. I should not be greeted with an employee moving to their phone screen to tell me if I can be helped. Go ahead and put the blokes out of their misery and replace them with artificial intelligence if that is going to be your customer service model.

They're always eager to sell you the latest and greatest expensive electronics, but when you try and get said expensive electronics fixed or serviced you're suddenly stuck in a time sink of handball being passed from blue shirt to blue shirt. I'm willing to bet I wouldn't fall through the cracks of blue shirts if I was buying a new product instead of trying to keep my old apple product functioning. Be prepared for a long frustrating wait if you're there to do anything other than purchase a new product.

Apple Store in 5th ave has great customer service. I cracked my iPhone 6s and needed it repaired. I called to find out how much it would cost and the lady on the phone said it would be $99 because I was on the iPhone care plus plan. I go in the store and the price at checkout said $129. I told the lady at the store that I was told it would be $99 and she informed me that I wasn't on the apple care plus plan. But because I was told it would be $99 they downgraded the cost for me. Very good customer service!

Horrible employees, you don't argue with a whose right or wrong attitude. No wonder this is a low ranking store. I went in because my daughters iPhone X battery capacity was off, phone is 35 days old and the battery capacity was at 97%. Strange for a device only 35 days old, my co workers iPhone X over 1 year old and the battery capacity is still around 100%. His arguing point.. Your daughter uses it 10 hours a day, so I said I get that but an iPhone that's a year would have used the device longer. His arguing point,does she use Snapchat, YouTube or Facebook? I said yes but he wanted to keep arguing his point. I walked out, told them to send me a review for that employee... Apple is horrible, customer service is some of the dumbest staff I've seen.

Took my laptop in to get it wiped clean and reset, was told would be an hour wait time. After an hour of waiting I get told there are ten people ahead of me and would just be another hour!!! Terrible service!!!!!! I give it one star for the fact at least they were nice about telling me I was screwed to continue waiting.

Never been to impressed with the Apple store since it's in a crowded mall but they do a great job dealing with thousands of customers a day . Though two things they are great at is customer service and design. Walk-in to make an appt was easy, the staff were very nice and understanding. I needed to make an appt yesterday to get seen today and they did a great job squeezing me in the same day. One down fall is I waited about 30 minutes to be set in the system after the appt time was scheduled, lots of downtime to wait. Overall the genius that was assigned to me tried to help the best they could within the Apple knowledge base they knew and were trained on. I had a rare repair for my macbook pro and it turned out even the 3rd party apple store couldn't repair it. I appreciate the time and effort the genius tech helped me with, great person and overall a good experience.

A Visit to the 5th Ave Genius Bar is worst than a visit to the DMV. They can't keep appointments to save their lives. I showed for a 2:15pm appointment and was told I'd have to come back in two hour after two hours they still were not ready. It's a bunch of hipsters running around without a clue to how important peoples time is. This is for a warrenty repair on a battery that failed on one of their poorly manufactured devices. There are no checks and balance and no sense of responsibility in fact I don't believe any of the employees here have ever been responsible for anything other than the pot plant growing in their living room. Apple you should be ashamed for your product support

I scheduled an appointment time on-line for a battery replacement. What I actually got was a "drop off" time ... and the phone might be ready in 2 hours but probably longer because of all the "walk-ins" ahead of me. Friendly staff, but battery replacement in the iPhone 6 took 1 hour 15 mins. At the scheduled time for the repair to be complete I waited an additional 20 minutes before I asked about the status of the repair only to be told "Oh, it's ready". As I hadn't left the store for that entire time and all the staff are wired with comms and tablets, they should have been more prompt in completing the service, especially when I had informed them at the beginning that I had just finished a 12 hour shift and would appreciate an expedited repair.

I made an appointment and came in on time. They sat me down and had me wait for 30 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that I was there. I had another appointment about an hour from my appointment thinking that I would get help in a timely matter and I ended up being late! The store wasn’t even busy. You want a place to just kill your time? This is it. 30 people “working” here. Not one will tell you there’s a waiting list and no kiosk to get on that list. I live in Wasilla, so for each visit I have to drive an hour each direction. First visit, two hours in the store. We had an issue with air pods, the left one wasn't working. When we first entered, we were met by a friendly staff member that took my name and asked us to wait at a table. Far too long later, we were acknowledged and "helped." The "Certified Technician" merely ordered a new pair of replacement air pods, you cannot exchange with new air pods, they have to be apecial air pods that take 3-5 business days to arrive. Second visit, about one hour. We exchanged the air pods and were sent out the door instructed to give them time to sync. The right one would not work. Third visit, about forty five minutes. we were instructed to charge the case for an hour with the air pods in it, forget the air pods on the phone, perform a factory reset on the case, and try to pair them again. The right still won't work. FOURTH VISIT, thirty two minutes. We were given a new case, and instructed to allow it to charge with the air pods in it for ten minutes. We waited in the store this time. There was a pairing issue. A second tech came out from the back to help change aome settings in the phone. Now the air pods are working. We got to the parking garage and noticed the right pod requires a finger to press it down into the case in order to charge. We had paid for parking and left, now to go back in... FIFTH VISIT. They informed is it is an hour and forty five minutes wait time for a tech, and invited us to schedule an appointment for another day. I explained I do not want to come back again, so we were added to a "walk in" wait list. There is an auditorium area in the store where Apple employees present helpful classes regarding various softwares. However, while no one is seated in the class area, an Apple employee begins a class, while customers are waiting for assistance. I believe there is a better use for that employee's time, like helping customers that have come in for personal assistance.

Like others have said, their customer service and check in process needs some work. I stopped by to return an extra cell phone case, and to do that we ended up waiting in a line to get into the store (with two people ahead of me) for a little over thirty minutes. Mind you, the store wasn't super busy, and there were 6 or so customer service people out front of the store who could have helped. During our wait, the customer service agents outside the store mostly just stood around talking amongst themeslves. The return process, once started, took less than 60 seconds. I think that a company as large as Apple really needs to re-work their check-in and task/nature of customer visit waiting list ranking process for handling customers with device issues vs. those with product returns. Of course, the separate line for buying the new iPhone 11 went fast and many people passed ahead of me while I was waiting. I don't really write reviews for something as petty as this, but the customer experiance in this instance for such a premium brand was pretty poor.

The system for making appointments is clunky. Having a counter in the store where people can check in and request assistance and maybe added to a queue would be a better system than requiring customers to wander around until they can pounce on a worker as soon as the worker finishes helping someone else.

The manager of the store Micaha Cult, will LIE TO YOU TO SELL YOU A NEW PHONE!!!!! He tell you your phone is damaged beyond repair when it's not ! They told me the phone had water damage...... The phone is six months old and it had never been in the water!!!! I didn't believe what they said, I took it to a secondary phone repair place they said there was not water damage and that the phone just needed a new $50 battery. The Apple Store also kept part of my phone, the battery protector to be specific and I had to buy another one because they stole mine. I will be filing a police report with the Anchorage PD for fraud and theft against the manager of the store. HE SHOULD BE FIRED!!!! DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!!!

I needed a battery replacement, was trying to schedule an appointment (since the wait was 2 hours), when I said that proposed time won’t work for me, the reply was : “that’s all we have - HAVE a good day!” Not even trying to accommodate.
