This was the worst academic experience that my daughter, every had. The things that she went through was absolutely horrible. I for years a have tried to contact someone over this institution of higher learning regarding my daughter experience. We even traveled back 5 1/ hours from NC to have a meeting with a mediator lady? Have not heard from her since... I told my daughter just chalk it up to a very expensive learning experience, on how the real world at some point in her life operates. Which is very sad.

There are high quality professors here at EMU! Just talked with an EMU alumnus last week who recently finished up his master's degree and found a job in mechanical engineering. He felt that that his time here helped him transition into grad school and beyond. As for campus life, I've been able to find amazing people to surround myself with. There are also so many leadership opportunities outside of the classroom. Professors are looking for leaders and will gladly support you along the way if you decide to take on the challenge! Last semester, I had the awesome opportunity to travel abroad to India. This trip changed my life and broadened my world perspective. These semester cross cultural experiences are golden and I'd highly recommend going on one!

I graduated in '08, and had a great experience here as a student. The professors are knowledgeable and passionate about their fields, and are sincere in their desire to help you succeed. There are lots of ways to connect to the local community, and the location in the Shenandoah Valley is beautiful!

Great for Photography and Digital Media people. Awesome opportunities for using equipment that one would not otherwise be able to use without spending a lot of money. #Dr.JHo

I will say one thing about this school. I believe it takes more than one person to sum up an experience of this place. I will come to say, this is one heck of a school. It, in all ways, comes full-package offering people the ability to create an enriching scholastic and social experience-well worth it's tuition and much more than that. I hope many recognize how supportive many of the resources are, as they incorporate and steadfastly secure student success post-graduation. Many of the students find the campus safe, and continue to share time-on the front-lawn. It boasts amenities such as a remarkable cross-cultural program-which is typically stressed as one-of-a-kind. Many tend to leave EMU with a sense of social responsibility, awareness of ethic & moral integrity, and most but not the least amount of respect and character that strives to create peace and a consciousness of the truth. EMU brings the best to the table and to the locations that make beloved connections, its is obvious that it is in more ways than one how I hope it is also recognized for the supportive majors, as their is an increase in how to assess career direction and a sense of where-to-go, and most definitely what to do-and exactly howto do so. Career services empties the questions that many students have, and make the connection past walking the stage easy. I would look into how they offer those with the question of gap-years and time-off, as they are also very flexible in that regard. I also need to emphasize the creative programs that this school has, unlike MANY other private universities. In this area, many are used to the bustling downtown-as it gives the students a safe and incredibly opportunistic option and get-away to seek a retreat from studies or time on-campus. I hope the school is also given credit for their staff remarks-literally providing the students with more information in most classes that create a sense of grounding-awareness-and insider connections and information that is in every way-useful and applicable-past graduation and class time. I have found the school to be mostly divided in the sense of stages, there is a definite desire that many come to a full-circle of how to integrate all demographics-students of most areas outside of the most-recognized districts that they are including incoming and other students. It is also important to recall their new water tower, which sits so grandly at their acclaimed hill. This view makes the students strive to soak in the beautiful mountain-top and hill-stories in their time here. I hope it can take those to the biggest moments of their academic and scholastic careers, continuing to shake those in their awareness of how incredible and unique this school truly is. I hope one day, many find the number of those that attend this school, are in so many ways incredible. It's true-itis amazing. It makes the biggest difference that they are also located in the most peaceful, and most accessible town-Harrisonburg, which that also makes students past just EMU and other surrounding schools intricately successful-in may ways. It shifts the entire university to stand in a way that gives people a creative lens- in a biblical sense- an awareness that further integrates into your daily lives. Many have in the most caring way, emphasized EMU as such a unique school that is mainly reaching and pulling in those with the absolute christian mennonite and anabaptist background-as it has core values and pillars that connect to those standards. I would highly recommend those interested to pursue their undergraduate catalogue-as the school changes their class availability and structure over-time- especially to meet the needs of students. It makes the biggest difference that many of the community members are extremely supportive of this school. Many of the staff and faculty have a caring quality, although they do tend to pursue the academics as a priority. Many of the students find the campus to be quite quaint, in-size, it makes it affordable to be close-knit and supportive, further breeding a small school feel.

I did not attend EMU, but my grandson did. He had very bad experiences.... The students were not at all friendly and made my grandson feel out of place. That does not sound like a Christian school to me. Each day it made him more and more uneasy until he eventually became sick with nerves. Then to top it off they said he missed to much time and could not return. I feel they did not do enough to help with this problem. If you don't have money, you have no chance at EMU.

Loved my time at EMU, the friends I made and the doors it opened for me. Besides what the classroom offered, I did drama, radio, newspaper, study abroad, choir, hiked the Shenandoah mountains, took field trips to DC, met eminent visiting lecturers and studied abroad.

I started EMU my sophomore year of college being a transfer from Purdue University. EMU was a much better learning environment for me, as I was able to connect with more professors and students due to the smaller classes. The nursing program is amazing and I love going to class and clinicals everyday:) The nursing staff is always making changes to the program to make it the best!

I graduated in 2012. I studied photography and video through Digital Media. The VaCA department is amazing and the faculty are passionate and relatable. They want to see you succeed. Through the cross-cultural program, campus life and thoughtful teaching, EMU was the right place for me after I graduated high school. With the connections and knowledge I gained, I quickly found employment in my field. I wouldn’t have my current career without EMU. I recommend visiting! It’s a beautiful place.
