World class excellent education can be earned here!

Incredible school. Beautiful campus. Despite the seemingly outrageous workloads that students can be subjected to, I truly enjoyed my experience here. I would advise students to actively engage faculty and administrators in order to discover the many opportunities for enrichment. There are amazing internship and volunteer opportunities that students can tap into if they seek them. Williams does a great job of putting many of those opportunities directly in the students' laps, but that can mislead them into thinking that all the things that are available will be presented to them. That is not always the case. Many excellent opportunities still have to be sought. Also, fully embrace the corniness that is Mountain Day and you will enjoy it.

Gorgeous, right out of central casting campus, in the middle of one of the most scenic and bucolic towns in New England. Their art library is a gem which few know about. Great day trip from Boston. Do it often.

It is my love at first sight. The architecture is amazing. The crowd is artsy and very welcoming. Innovative concerts are held there every season that you won't wanna miss.

Williamstown, itself is very picturesque. The college structures actually enhance the surroundings.

Gorgeous campus integrated with a sleepy New England town. We visited for a swim meet and loved it. Facilities were well maintained, and buildings were easy to find. Staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly.

(Translated by Google) Very nice museum with nice collection. Very worthwhile. Free entrance. (Original) Heel mooi museum met mooie collectie. Zeer de moeite waard. Gratis toegang.

Apparently, Adam Falk grossly misrepresents what happens when a speaker is present on campus and is associated with Uncomfortable Learning. See wall street journal, Nov 17 issue in the opinion page

"It would be no small advantage if every college were thus located at the base of a mountain.” — Henry David Thoreau, writing of Williams in 1844.

Viewed as a peer to Harvard, Yale and Princeton, and many say surpasses them in undergraduate educational quality. Forbes ranks Williams the top college institution in the US, ahead of YHPS, and US News ranks Williams No. 1 among Liberal Arts Colleges. Williams has a small student body and the campus is located in a beautiful rural setting among the Berkshires. The school is rigorous and produces some the best minds in the world. Per capita, Williams is one of the top five undergraduate institutions producing PhDs, and also is recognized as a major feeder to the top medical schools and law schools in the US. It also is a highly regarded feeder school to Wall Street.

My daughter has loved every minute of Williams College! She's a graduating senior. The camaraderie amongst graduates and family of alums is unbelievable. I wear a Williams cap often, and on three separate occasions an alumnus has come up to me and struck up a 30 minute conversation about how much they loved their time at Williams College. One was a superior court judge, and two were doctors.

Loved visiting friends here. The campus is beautiful and biking to the farms around here is great.

Just visited. I spent three days on campus with a host student. It was really great. The people were amazingly nice, always helpful. There's a lot of diversity on campus on every level and the classes are wonderful. I always had this image in my mind of a large lecture-style class where everyone is on laptops scrambling to copy down whatever their prof is saying and that's just not the case here. The classes are really small, with like 8-12 students being average. A few entry-level courses are the exception. You'll get a lot of one on one time with the teachers here, which I like. The food is pretty good, I especially like the sandwich-making stations in Mission and Driscoll dining halls, as well as the always-there cereal. Paresky's snack bar was also quite appealing, as they serve breakfast foods, smoothies, shakes, and nachos after dark. The campus is gorgeous, there are no pictures that do it justice. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd highly recommend it. The administration went above and beyond to make both prospective students and parents feel welcome in every way. They even sent us back to the airport with snacks for the trip. If you're considering Williams as an option, you're in great hands.

Williams is not nearly as well known as the other top East Coast colleges such as Harvard, Princeton, Brown etc, probably because it is a lot smaller and doesn't have a graduate school (except for a couple of programs), but it offers the same quality of undergraduate education, and may even surpass them in some areas. It was ranked #1 college in the USA by Forbes magazine in 2014 (Stanford was #2). These rankings are always a little suspicious, but they are usually not way off. The top spot may be partly due to including the starting salary of graduates in the ranking. My daughter picked it for these reasons: - high quality of education - small classes - no fraternities/sororities - not having graduate programs (so the faculty cannot favor grad students when choosing student collaborators) - remote (and beautiful) location, so fewer distractions outside classes - East Coast (we live in California and she wanted to be exposed to a different cultural environment) She's been there only a couple of months but so far everything matches or exceeds her expectations.
