It's a great school only been there for a week and I love it

Hannah Winterfield

I go to this school currently. Sure, sometimes it can be strict and stressful but, it's a military school. Also why would you give a school a bad rating because you don't like where they're built a campus? Grow up honey.

Brandy Mata

They DO NOT care about their cadets. They boast this creed about honor and valor and do community service... But what don't they do? They don't even care to check on a Cadet that had a bright future, was a great Cadet and participated in many competition teams who was injured in the Tornado in Riverdale. Keep in mind that this cadet was training for an upcoming competition FOR THE SCHOOL at the time of the incident! Have they called, or inquired about how he was, or how he is doing? NOT AT ALL! They discarded him without a care. But who did care? Bonneville High School even though this cadet didn't go to that school! So 6 months later this young man is left without any care, and not able to return to the school due to not being able to drive, graduate, get a job, go anywhere by himself and on top of that the school would not accommodate him! Bonneville is accommodating him. But he is left with no memory, a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and an IQ that is severally impaired. But do you think the school cared at all? Not at all....not even 6 months later. If I could give a 0 I would.

Adrie Hurst

Not impressed with them. There is no honesty or integrity with this school.

very good school

Totally dishonest and deceptive organization. They recently bought a lot in Lehi to build a new campus. The plans were denied by the city zoning committee but they keep moving ahead like they are good to go. They've even gone so far to post open enrollment and a groundbreaking for the new facility. They don't care that they've been denied because their asinine plan calls for 300+ students to drive through small neighborhood streets every morning and afternoon while our kids are walking to and from school and bus stops. Let me be clear, I have a great respect and appreciation for the men and women who sacrifice their lives for the defense of our county. I also support training young children to be great military leaders, but this school thinks they can bully their way into our residential neighborhood without approval.

This is a very very awful school. Partly because the management is so unbeliveabley strict and they make everything very stressful on the parent. The rules of the school are absurd, they expect everyone to follow a strict set of rules and it is very very cruel! Also Mrs.Mewes, a 7th grade teacher is most likely one of the worst teachers I have ever met in all my years as a parent going to PTC, she could care less if they even come!

My experience at the Utah military academy has changed my life around. I would like to personally making my life better because if it wasen't for them I would probably go down the wrong path. They have opened my eyes up to new opportunity and new aspects of life.

My children have been at this school since the day it opened. My oldest was in the first graduating class of 2015, my second was in the graduating class of 2017, and now my youngest son will graduate this year for 2018. Only my youngest has aspirations for the military post high school. I tell people all the time that this school is not for everyone. If your child has the desire for the JROTC life, opportunities abound, and relationships with fellow cadets and teachers that could not and would not be able to flourish in a large school, THEN UMA is a great fit! If it wasn't for the teachers and administrators here, my children wouldn't have had the opportunities and experiences that made high school great for them. I'm sad I will no longer be a parent of this UMA family after this year and only expect further greatness in the years to come!

You want real answers, this is an opportunity school. I go to this school and it would be good if there weren't so many parents that are idiotic. They put their misbehaving children in this school thinking it will shape them up. This school has and has had some abnormally horrible teacher, I can name a few off the top of my head.

Great school! Fantastic extracurricular activities. Public Charter means no tuition. 1. THIS IS NOT A BOOTCAMP/REHABILITATIONAL/CORRECTIONAL STYLE FACILITY. if your child has severe discipline issues, this is probably not the place for him/her. Please seek better-suited resources. 2. This is not a Boot Camp/high-discipline style environment. Every time I walk in, the kids are all high energy, extremely happy, and probably a bit louder then what the faculty would like for them to be. If your child respects and works well with others, but is a bit... high energy for the local public schools, this might be a good fit for him/her. Yes, it is well structured, but theres' a lot of Gung-ho Esprit De Corps, physical energy to be had. It can be great for good kids who can't quite sit still and stay quiet. 3. I enrolled my DAUGHTER here. The gender split is approximately 60-40 M2F. There are enough girls that she is never the only girl in a class or activity, but the numbers are low enough that the girls seem to have a strong sisterhood bond going on. They seem to take real good care of each other instead of cliquing up and competing. This is a great fit for girls who "are tired of Girl Drama." ( words my daughter used when we asked why she really wanted to go here.) My daughter actually likes the uniforms because it keeps the "girl clothing" drama down. She really likes not having to stress about what clothes to wear every morning. 4.OMG so many extracurricular activities! Of course there are military stuff like JROTC and Civil Air Patrol, but theres lot of stuff like Film clubs, art, air-gun, archery, I really honestly cant believe how much fun stuff the kids do here. A lot of their extracurricular compete at surprisingly high levels. 5. Yes, its a school with military focus. Yes; its Great for kids who aspire to one day join the military. But they will work with and accept all kids who have special needs/disabilities. Kids who might really benefit from an extra serving of order, routine, and predictability, even if they have physical/mental disabilities that mean they'll never get to actually serve in the armed forces. 6 The worst, absolute worst part of this school.... is the condition of the facility itself. Because they put all their love and attention in the kids. The carpet is frayed, the paint is scuffed. The building smells like a locker room. The gym still has a floor and décor from when the facility was a private Christian school a few years back. But I don't mind. They got their priorities right; They put the Kids first.

To those people that are downvoting the school simply because they have plans that don't coincide with your perfect little world, grow up. The world doesn't always go your way. Complaining, I am fine with, its the claims of "Bully" and "Deceitful" that I disagree with. Not letting yourself be walked over by others isn't bullying, and certainly isn't deceitful. Besides if you were actually trying to make a change about what's happening, raping the google reviews for the school is just pitiful.

Aaron Storm

Attacking the Google Reviews for a school because you disagree where they are building? Really? How about you do something useful with your life and protest in a way that's actually going to do something instead of being underhanded. The school did not bully, or intimidate, or be deceitful. These are claims that have NO proof whatsoever. If you are going to make these claims provide PROOF, and not just the claims of an angry housewife.

Our son asked to transfer to UMA for seventh grade. I was unsure at first but he has loved every day there. His grades have improved and every teacher has been amazing. He is about to finish the 8th grade and plans to return next year.

natalie isaac

Not impressed with the lack of integrity and core values they seem to claim they represent.

Leslie McNeely

I absolutely adore this school. It's a terrific school with attentive and caring faculty and staff. The students have smaller class sizes, great academic and athletic programs, and ample opportunity to learn and grow. It's an extremely respectful and nurturing environment, yet still enforces structure. Students are encouraged daily to follow the core values of integrity, service, and excellence. Go Thunderbirds!

MY KID LOVES THIS SCHOOL AND IT IS BETTER THEN NORTH DAVIS JR HIGH BEST SCHOOL EVER!

Donna Lee

This school is awesome! Wonderful teachers that are patient with student specially with disabilities. Only exception is that the math program needs some work. But they are working hard to find the right program for the school.

We love Utah Military Academy. Our son has been with this school from the first day it opened 4 years ago. We've had great teachers and mentors guiding him along the way. He's had experiences he never would have received at any other school. It has been an incredible school. So much to offer each and every unique child, but your child has to be willing to fully immerse themselves and find the niche that fits them. If they do, they too will have an amazing experience at this school.

Jennifer Ward

My son graduated from UMA in 2016. Moving him from Syracuse High School to UMA was the best decision that we made. The teachers took a genuine interest not only his academics but in him as a person. He went from being an average student to excelling. He is currently serving in the USAF and is doing very well. I would highly recommend this school.

Stephanie Taylor

I'm not saying it's a good or bad school my son was just accepted and I'm hoping for the structure that he needs to become a better adult in life. I can only teach him so much and public schools seem to be a horrible place for him.

rachel lyman

Very disappointed in the lack of respect and community shown by the administration of this school. They do not follow the principles they claim to teach.

I have no qualms with the idea of a military school. I think it's great. However, when the school pushes their way into a community, simply because of a cheap piece of land, I draw the line. I get it, money doesn't grow on trees. But for the many homes in the Lehi area that will be affected by the massive amount of traffic that will be added to the community, this changes their lives. There are many groups of kids and the only entrance to the proposed Lehi campus is down a residential street that was NOT designed to handle that much traffic. On a side note, wouldn't it make more sense to be closer to Camp Williams?
