This year I am a new 2nd grade teacher at American Heritage of South Jordan. I taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade at another private school for five years. This is a beautiful school. There is mutual respect among colleagues and the administration. I especially appreciate how loved the students are here. It is truly a safe haven for children.

I attended this school for one semester and it was the worst semester I've ever endured. I came from a public school and was baffled at how unorganised the curriculum was, pretty sure we didn't even have one. We were doing work I had done 2+ years prior. The kids there are also terrible and not accepting at all. I tried my hardest to be accepted but some children decided it would be fun to spread rumours around about me so no one would talk to me. I went to the administration about it, but they did not care as the students spreading rumours about me were the kids that could get away with anything. Elsha is a whole new evil too. She's unwilling to work with anyone. I do not suggest this school to anyone, unless you'd like to make your child behind in school and miserable.

The previous review is baffling. Never in a million years, would I have thought that a public school has better education than a SMALL class private school. My kindergartner has spelling tests every week, on words that are fairly difficult for her age, my first grader has an amazing program, is learning ASL, Spanish at a rate that is astonishing. The environment is amazing. The teens open the door for me, and are always so polite. I know that my kids will go to school, and learn only good principals. My kids ARE advanced, and I mean, I'm comparing my 1st grader to 2nd grade public school, and kindergartener to 1st grade public school. Hands down, this is an amazing school. Everyone's experience is different.... and I understand that. But to say that the curriculum is behind, when I know that with my kids, it's the opposite, is not truthful. If ANYTHING, you know your kids will go to a school that doesn't have swearing and does not allow bad manners. I decided to go with this school, because my kids are super advanced in their studies, and were reading at a 1st grade level at the age of 4. This school does not disappoint.

Think twice before enrolling your children to this school. They won't protect your kids and deny any bad behavior that the teachers have. They seem to be nice but the school directors are the ones that decide what the teachers do or say. They are the worst people ever!!!!. They will lose good teachers every year. They don't know how to treat people. They do "parent meetings" almost every week just to collect money to build their gym. They will also use your kids to get money, its unacceptable! They only care about the collecting money. Talk to the parents before enrolling your children to this school! They all talk really bad about the teacher'sbehavior and the way the directors (husband and wife) protect some teachers behavior. If you don't donate money to the school they won't let your children enroll for another year! In order to enroll your children again you need to donate thousands of dollars so they respect you and your children otherwise they will treat you really bad and won't let your Children enroll another year. Please think twice! There are way better schools out there. This is the worst school in South Jordan!!!!! They don't even have a place for sports. They will only get international students to make more money they won't care how their behavior or their academic is, they will only keep them because they pay three times more that the regular students. Most of the teachers and even the principals(husband and wife) make them stay in there homes just because they help them financially. All the parents know about this and even talk about it but they won't say anything because they are afraid of the directors. They will remove your children from the school. They will do it if they want to. Again.. this is not a a fair school and they will discriminate against you if you don't donate money.

This school is the best. And the teachers are so nice to everyone.
