They don't help out the students on how to use Blackboard. They expect everyone to already know how to use it. Which is horrible my brother failed a semester because he didn't see the homework on Blackboard. The people of this school should be more considerate of there students.

Great school for two year programs. The prices are amazing! The facility are really dedicated on helping their students graduate. STC also helps you transfer to another school after graduation! Would defiantly recommend to anyone who seeks a degree!

I am a first-time STC student wanting to take several prerequisite classes so I can apply to UTRGV’s PA program. I currently hold a master’s degree in counseling and am familiar with UTRGV’s online registration program; however, as a new student to STC I wanted to speak to an advisor face-to-face in order to ensure I was enrolled in the correct degree plan. I spoke with Marissa Rivera from the Mid-Valley campus and was surprised at the lack of customer service she provided - along with several other staff members. If STC’s mission is to encourage students to enroll in their courses, then why do they have such crappy advisors “advising” students? From the moment I walked in Ms. Rivera’s office, she made me feel like I was bothering her and wasting her time with my questions. I was under the impression that she would have rather been anywhere else but there assisting me. In my opinion, STC needs to step it up and hire staff with better attitudes who are passionate about their jobs and helping others.

Teachers here are normally really nice or understanding. I've taken about 6 courses over the summers here in the last 2 years and I've enjoyed them all. Overall a good campus and a great faculty.

The advisors, financial aid staff, and cashier staff are ALWAYS in a horrible mood. I have met only 1 decent employee in those three areas with manners. The rest obviously hate their job. They all need to be trained on employee etiquette.

There are plenty of areas to study and pass your time and places around where you can grab a bit. Certainly the people with bad reviews were probably the rude ones around because all staff I've known is professional.

I wouldn't recommend calling in unless it's a simple question, the ones who answer give you wrong information or don't process what you are asking correctly, plus there is usually a long waiting time, if you need to do anything go to the school and do it yourself and make sure things are done correctly. The advisors are great, the teachers are great but there's always one bad apple, I've had some really great ones and luckily only a couple bad. I love this college, affordable, and perfect to help get you on your way to a higher education.

Aren’t you supposed to be the “information center”.. I’m asking YOU!!!.. why are you telling me to check online.. I obviously don’t have a computer in front of me to check at the moment .. I had to ask her kindly “can’t you just tell me?” And she finally told me.. I asked another person after that about the hours since she obviously seemed bothered .. They are so disorganized! The employees are always in a bad mood and give lots of attitude. They take their sweet time finishing things up. You can never have a straight answer with them no matter how many people you talk to. They are just very frustrating people to deal with!! Younger students are working there when they clearly have no idea what they're doing or saying. Can hardly get things done right with them, there always has to be a mistake they make and won't take the blame for. So frustrating!

Poor Quality of Nursing Students. Here is why: On December 7, 2018 my wife (a student of STC's nursing program) had our car keys stolen from her purse by her fellow class mates there at the McAllen Campus. The students then (without my wife knowing, or her permission) broke into our car and trashed it. They video taped my wife secretly from afar as my wife broke into to tears upon arriving at our vehicle and seeing the damage these bullies did to our car. I guess this is the quality of caregiving nurses STC produces. As if my wife doesn't have enough to deal with as it is, because, of my absence as I am away on a deployment serving my country, she now has to deal with this criminal harassment. Thanks a lot STC nursing program. If any of those bullies are my nurses if I am ever wounded, I hope someone would just smother me with a pillow before receiving care from any STC nursing grad like them. What a sickening thing for a father, husband, and veteran who is away in the service of his country to see; his daughter's car seat trashed by a group of STC bullies. It is unfortunate that I cannot leave ZERO STARS. That would be my review of this institution because of these bullies and the harassment one might receive in the halls or parking lots of it's 'nursing program'.

Nothing but problems with this school! Advisors seem to not know what they are talking about. They all always tell you something different from your degree plan. They don't help you look at other degree plans from other universities. Professors always seem to "forget" to put lessons up and when they see that they didn't It's still due on that time frame. Most never respond to emails or phone calls. I just got dropped because there wasn't enough students who registered in that class. Which is the only time frame that worked for me! If I could go back to my old school in Fort Worth I would in a heart beat.

The help line services aren't the best. They should really work on their time management to be able to answer the phone faster instead of listening to a recording of an over excited man on repeat after some weird music that gives me a head ache. Overall, they are a nice school. I wouldn't mind going even though i am "technically" enrolled forcefully. -

It's an excellent first step for those who are trying to start their own story. This school offers so much moral support and resources. I do have to say though, the parking is still absolutely horrific especially in the noon-afternoon hours. At the end of the day, you're better off parking at the shuttle lot and waiting for the JagExpress to take you, versus constantly circling the campus for a spot. Aside from the parking problem, its a great local college and a great place to just be at, period.

11/21/2016- A position for Human generalist was advertised in the Sunday monitor newspaper but NOT advertised on their website. This was done to satisfy equal employment laws.
