just saw the segment on the real sports with bryant gumbel "arms race" of the gross mismanagement of finances for sports vs academics. the president of paul quinn college, mike sorrell, deserves praise for making hard choices, and making every effort to better the college situation for his students. very impressive, hopefully his school is as impressive.

I can't believe ANY higher institution would refuse to rescind cosby's honorary degree. the decision was based on a lie and can, indeed, be chaged. this phile does not deserve accolades of ANY kind. he needs help! If PQC continues to support a rapist, then the message is clear. It is okay to honor rapists, Many who are not discovered for years yet they are still guilty of rape. You just don't wnat to admit there was a mistake. IT WAS NOT YOURS!! AND YOU CAN FIX IT!!! It will serve you well to make the most humanitarian decision. If you actually care. We'll see.

MY DAUGHTER TOURED THIS SCHOOL TODAY WITH THE BETA LAMBDA EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE COLLEGE TOUR AND THE PRESIDENT MICHEAL SORRELL NOT ONLY HUMILIATED AND EMBARRASSED HER BY FIRST ASSUMING SHE WAS A MALE BECAUSE OF HER SHORT HAIRCUT BUT POINTED HER OUT AND ASSUMED SHE WASN'T FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS WHEN HE ASKED ALL THE MALES TO STAND.. WELL SHE DIDN'T BECAUSE SHE'S A 17 YEAR OLD YOUNG LADY!!.. HER SHORT HAIR,NOR HOW SHE DRESSES SHOULD MAKE ONE HUMILIATE HER DUE TO THEIR IGNORANCE!!.. THIS MAN DON'T NOT APOLOGIZE EVEN AFTER FINDING OUT OF HIS IGNORANCE THAT SHE WAS IN FACT A FEMALE...IS THIS HOW WE TREAT OUR CHILDREN MR.SORRELL??... I would say Paul Quinn College (PQC) has really been great to me the entire four years being there! This school is for anyone trying to better themselves and their community. If you are willing to put the work in, PQC has many opportunities. Small HBCU that packs a powerful punch! :)

The financial aid dept. Supervisor Mrs. Jackson was very professional initially. However, for some odd reason once she spoke to my relative she became very short and rude, almost borderline judgmental. It was as if she had better things to do than answer questions regarding financial aid. Based primarily on her customer service skills, I'm not surprised that the graduation rate is 3%. First impressions are everything and no one wants to be made to feel as though their questions or concerns are not valid. Please do better Paul Quinn for our students and community.

Being a non-traditional student attending Paul Quinn College has been a great experience for me thus far. I was accepted to attend Texas A&M-Commerce, but chose Paul Quinn College instead. Best decision I ever made.

Prez supposedly stole money for personal use. Coed dorms so students slept with each other. I lived next to some girl who let their girlfriend and kid stay there. They weren't homeless. Just wanted to be close to each other. You could hear her beating the kid. Drinking all the time. Halls constantly smell like weed. Wild animals. Fights. But other than that...great job paul quinn for getting a soccer team.

This is actually one of the worst HBCU's in the country. It has a graduation rate of only 13%, and half of freshman don't even return. The financial aid is awful, there are great state schools for much lower costs.

Inspiring story on HBO Sports about colleges and huge athletic deficits that charged the students more money, to pay for their expensive football program. Paul Quinn College decided to cut football to help the students pay lower tuition, thus more affordable. "The best interest of the students comes first." They also built a farm on the Paul Quinn football field. This is used to reduce student cost. Students can work this farm each year and earn $5,000 towards tuition credits and save $20,000 from student debt by the time they graduate and learn how to farm their own foods. We can only hope more colleges can follow this lead.

This Historic College in the Southern Dallas Oakcliff area is the place to attend if you want to experience a feeling of faculty & staff that cares about you achieving sucess! Its also a Work College, with a location in Plano, Texas as well. You can attend college classes while working with a partnership established with corporate companies. This college has helped so many students from various disadvantaged homes, located in rural & urban areas and states. The President of this college has worked diligently to keep a positive legacy moving forward into the future. He's a hands-on President that's really motivated to make sure the students achieve all they can while they are students at Paul Quinn. I attended this college myself with many of my siblings and because of the degree I obtained years ago, my life goals are achieved. Thank You Paul Quinn College, because A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste!
