I was going to go to a larger college, but ultimately decided to go to Columbia State to save some money. It has been one of the best experiences I could ask for. All of my teachers so far have been amazing, even my online classes were pleasant, and I only have one semester left after this. I've always had a pleasant experience with staff and other students, and it's been a wonderful way to transition into college life. Go Chargers!

Excellent professors for the most part, small class sizes, and fair prices. Substandard parking and financial aid office.

Worst Financial Aid office ever. Call center and they don't know anything about financial aid either.

My Financial aid experience was the worst! I decided to start the second half of the summer session to get my feet wet and get back to the swing of things before fall semester because I haven’t been to college in 3 years. To make a long story short I requested x amount of dollars on my loan application for summer school which I was eligible for the full amount , number 1. They didn’t reward me the full amount that I requested even after already double checking with them first about it but gave me a reasonable amount so I was okay with that , then I called financial aid to check on something and a lady in the financial aid office named Denise went into my account and changed my financial aid loan approval to 325 which anyone that has been to college knows that barely covers books and school supplies. When I asked her why she personally felt the need to go into my account and change my reward around it was because “student cost of living” what she felt like my cost of living is without actually getting any background information on my “living” situation, which ultimately isn’t their business . I had to email the financial aid director and threaten to contact state representatives and the news because based of the conflicting information I had received . We can use any left over financial aid money to pay for housing , transportation, computer, food ... I didn’t have any holds on my account for financial aid , I really feel like the decision that one lady made was based on her on personal feelings because she felt like I was wanting to go to school to get a refund back and I was going to drop out after. Although the problem was fixed I will definitely be going back to Volunteer State Community College in the fall . I have a feeling they’ve done people like this before, which is very unfair. If I could give no stars I would . I would like to say since starting my classes both of my teachers are really awesome that is the only good experience I’ve had so far.

poor Financial aid department, great professors.

Fix your computers and printers. They haven’t been working for a year now. We pay a technology fee. It takes 20 minutes just to log in the PC and another another 10 minutes to load the browsers. Then once you try printing stuff off the printers they DON’T WORK! Great way to waste time. You’re putting money in all unnecessary remodeling when students can’t even print off assignments, study guides, and have access to online courses. Desperately need to rethink priorities in getting students a good education. Fix your technology.

Absolutely worst office staff, 3 weeks to finally talk to a person and then get sent to voice mail after telling them which department I needed.
