I love this school. I Graduated from a university and I’m taking courses here due to a career change. Compared to my previous school , Gaston College is very quick and easy with registration. I was being sponsored from my job and I turned in paper work that needed to be processed asap; it was handled quickly and updated in the system within that week(faster than what I thought). When I applied to the medical program the coordinators were very helpful and nice.

It's good for trades but their commitment to actually helping students is terrible. Do your own research on what you are going into and plan accordingly don't go to them for help.

I don't know how closely the Fire Training Department is tied to the College itself but I go to Gaston College once a year with my work for Fire Brigade Training, IMO the Fire Training facilities are Top Knotch. I can't say I've been to other Fire Training Facilities but I can't imagine others being better than Gastons. The instructors are well experienced in fire fighting & are eager to share their experiences & knowledge. I know some of them are part time help & full time fire fighters.The burn building & the flashover trailer are were I had my most memorable experience. All around Great School.

Went to fire/hazmat school here. The best burn building I have seen, and the flashover simulator was amazing!

I dont recommend it to anyone with transportation issues. My son was on the access van and was late a few times to no fault of his own. One of the teachers failed him for it. He went through Job Corps afterwards and no longer has those issues. Its sad when you have to move off to have a better life.

Don't get me wrong, I have had a couple teachers I have enjoyed, but when I needed them most, they won't have your back. Terrible college off of that basis. There are tons of other community colleges to go to around here.

Highly recommend if you’re a recently separated Veteran and are looking to get back into school. The seated and hybrid classes aren’t bad and the VA makes the process easy, highly organized and fast with paper work. I have never seen such great genetorial services bathrooms are spotless 95% of the time!

I received my Associates degree here and it transferred directly to UNCC where I went on to obtain a Bachelors. I paid off my student loans already where as my friends may NEVER pay off theirs! I took the motorcycle course they offer here which is a cool thing to offer!

Disappointed with this school. Old, outdated, filthy are the words to just begin describing the campus. The part that disappoints me the most is their lack of art classes and programs. They have no foundation for good computer art programs or design past your fine art, painting, and maybe a very basic computer drawing class. CVCC has more options for the modern arts of today's world.
