After enjoying visits to several of the Newman Guide colleges , Northeast Catholic College stood out due to it's impressive students, beautiful location, rigorous curriculum, small class size and strong Catholic identity. If you prefer a smaller school and want to be challenged academically, nourished in the soul, while building friendships that will last a lifetime this could be the school for you. I've heard that alumni count their years here as some of the best of their lives. I'm glad to have found it.

I have visited the NCC campus several times, and I have participated in class, meals, and other events. The classes are conducted in the Socratic style, which provides opportunities for students to cultivate their communicative skills, and provides fascinating student-led discussion. The campus itself is in a gorgeous location - the scenic mountain view can be seen from almost everywhere. While visiting I was approached by many friendly students, who were eager to introduce themselves to me and explain various aspects of the college. One positive aspect of the college which is crucially important to me is its Catholic identity - NCC does not just call itself a "Catholic college" - it is a thoroughly Catholic school, with daily Mass, night prayer, an on-campus chaplain, and other opportunities for spiritual growth.

I am a freshman at NCC and I love being a student here. The curriculum really give you a firm grounding in Christian and Western thought and the Socratic method of teaching really helps one to not only fully understand the material but also to learn to think deeply and to successfully convey to and defend his opinion before others. While class sizes may be small, one really gets to know one's classmates and quickly develops strong friendships. Spiritual life is very strong: there is Mass from Sunday to Friday; rosary, morning prayer, and night prayer are said daily; and there are Eucharistic chapels in both the men's and women's dorms. There is an especially strong focus on the liturgy, and even the daily Masses are accompanied by chant and hymns. As I said before, I have loved my time spent here and I recommend this school to anyone looking for a solid, Catholic, liberal arts education.
