My time spent here has been an amazing advancement towards my career and I have created everlasting friendships. I have been able to complete all my classes on time and have had the opportunity to work one on one with the professors. They are very understanding and the small community provides a family like atmosphere that can't be beat. You get to know most of your fellow students and create contacts that come from all across the world. The rowdy crowds are always a great support for our teams and the town of Butte has so much history that I feel honored to live in such a close knit town. This school provides careers right after graduation and honestly, I could not have chosen a better school to attend if I wanted to. This place has been a home to me and challenged me in ways I never thought I could overcome.

Currently attending and it's exactly what I paid for; an engineering campus with renowned rigorous classes. The other review posted by the helicopter-parent isn't true. The campus is great and the staff are very reliable. However, the classes are/will be hard! This parent was obviously lied to by their child who didn't put enough effort into their academics. If one wants to succeed at Montana Tech they have to put in some hard work. This is why Montana Tech DOES create many internship opportunities. Companies realize the dedication students must commit to complete their education at Tech. If the homework for the classes are completed, a student can definitely expect success and job opportunities in their chosen field. P.S. The food isn't great, but they are currently working on Grill options and are definitely improving.

Good campus, quality professors for the most part. The food served on campus is complete garbage, high in calories and fat, low grade content. I wouldn't be surprised if the food served at Montana Tech was on par with food served in prison. Update: * October 2018. Dining services on Montana Tech has dipped to yet another low. In a sad attempt to save costs, dining services in the SUB have cut out at least half of their store offerings(snacks, drinks, etc.) The kitchen no longer offers a choice in breakfast orders, forcing kids to eat at their sub-par breakfast buffet line. All the while the main gate to the cafeteria has been broken for almost two months with no indication of when it will be fixed The coffee shop, (while coffee is actually good) no longer makes muffins while the bagels they do offer are either A.) frozen/cold or B.) hard as a rock.

Montana Tech creates a welcoming and friendly college experience that will allow you to flourish. I would recommend this school to anyone with an interest in gaining a quality education and securing a rewarding career.

Great day for football game. Better that that they won. Why is mascot called Charlie instead of digger or Doug. Why Charlie.

Montana Tech is awesome school. They have very professional professors that know what they are doing. It is clean and I enjoy going to school. Just be warned that financial aid has a lot of issues. They made mistakes with my financial aid creating some serious difficulties for me. Make sure you get everything in and check it twice for mistakes and don't count on financial aid. The school is great and I would reccomend Montana Tech as an excellent place to earn your degree.

Nice semi precious and precious stones museum

The deli has no menu and rude staff. Budget cuts are evident across campus, yet they can somehow afford a new building for administration. All the money goes towards athletics and keeping up appearances while the campus rots from the inside.

Steer clear if you want to have a good time at college, this school will mainly educate you by having teachers that give little help and force you to teach yourself in doing so. Teacher quality is all over the place; some are excellent, some are dreaded. A course taught by one will be completely different from the same course taught by another, since there seems to be very little standardization, so watch out when signing up for classes and try to figure out which teacher is right. Also, the degree program sizes are very uneven and it leads to larger ones taking focus in more general (and large) courses. Less important problems include lack of parking, inconsistent internet firewalling (sometimes you'll discover that now a ton of ports were added to the firewall overnight), and poor scheduling. Overall, I would recommend avoiding Tech unless you have few other options.

Bathrooms are the greatest I’ve seen in my entire life. You walk in and BOOM! Spotless white floors and beautiful walls. Sinks are clean and on point. Not only that, however, but wow! They are some of the craziest sinks I’ve ever witnessed. Super high-tech, motion-sense, perfect pressure. And don’t even get me started on the ceilings! Perfect white tile, if I recall. No visible holes or anything. The toilets smell amazing and are amazingly technologically advanced. More motion-sense and I believe automatic toilet paper dispensable as well. The automatic hand air dryer is impressive, strong, and emotionally available. Mirrors are spotlessly clean and shiny. But the soap. The soap is what sets these bathrooms leagues above all of its competition. It’s the most perfect smell. Comforting, nostalgic, and yet futuristic all at the same time. It’s texture is that of whipped cream. Amazingly fluffy and cleans extremely well. Great moves, keep it up. Proud of you!

Not only was I able to pursue my BS degree but MT Tech provides opportunities to pursue an accelerated Masters degree in some programs. I was able to get both in 5 years!

I am currently in my 6th semester starting this fall and I think that Montana Tech is a great university. One reason is the campus is small which makes for better class sizes as you progress towards your junior and senior level courses. Another great thing about this university is this school is ranked 6th in the nation for highest starting salaries. That alone is worth attending this university. To only have to pay about $11,000 a year for everything and receive one of the highest starting salaries is great. I still have about 3 years left towards my mechanical engineering degree, but it is definitely worth it. I would absolutely recommend this university to anyone looking to get a degree in business, nursing, or engineering.

Montana Tech gave me an education that I can be proud of. Industry holds Montana Tech graduates in the highest regard. The campus community is small and tight knit where professors know you by name and your study groups become a second family. When you find time to break away from the grind there are all sorts of outdoor activities. (biking, fishing, hunting, skiing) that are less than an hour from your front door. Once people have lived in Butte, they find it hard to find a nicer people.

I am a current student going into my senior year at Montana Tech. The staff that I have encountered have been extremely helpful to me whenever I have any questions or need additional help. Sure there are times when I get redirected to someone else, but I would rather be redirected to someone that can actually help me than to stay with someone who is unsure. Once you find out the right people to talk to guidance is easy to come by. Most of the professors that I have encountered have an open door policy and encourage us to stop by for any help that they may offer. It is easy to go in and talk to them, they just leave it up to the students to take initiative and approach them. These classes are difficult! That is just the nature of these fields of study. With hard work and help from the professors and others (which many students do not take advantage of) the information can be learned. On top of professor help, the tutor center is available for scheduled appointments and walk-ins. The tutor center is staffed with students that have been through these classes so they understand the questions and woes of the students. No one wants to see someone fail, everyone will try and help however they can. One of the greatest things this college has done for its students is bring in many large companies to the career fair. This is the greatest opportunity to talk with these companies to try and get internships and jobs with them. Keep in mind that hundreds of students are trying to get in with these companies. The ones that get these positions work hard and make themselves look good. Montana Tech provides many different opportunities to learn how to make yourself appetizing to these companies. The surrounding area has many great outdoor activities and the campus hosts some nice events for its students as well. It is not a big city so there is not an abundance of things to do but really the reason to go to college is to learn and prepare for our future. This is a college that looks out for its students and is excited to see them succeed. I highly recommend Montana Tech to anyone that is looking for a college with a strong engineering discipline.

There is no other school in MT and very few in the US that have a better ROI than Montana Tech. Students receive a great education for a reasonable price and job placement is consistently in the upper 90th percentile. Enough said!

As a non-traditional student I was initially hesitant about going back to school; However, the registrar and teachers have made it nothing but an easy transition into the Petroleum Engineering Department. As I get further into my studies the classes become challenging, yet more applicable. The professors work to bring real-life situations into the classroom, giving students a better understanding as to why we learn what we learn. When I have questions, the teachers are more than willing to answer them, in and out of the classroom. When it comes to working in the industry, career services is amazing at connecting students with the companies, giving us plenty of opportunities to meet with recruiters. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Montana Tech, it truly is a place to grow as an individual and a professional.

Nice campus but rude staff

The Ranch in CdA Villa d' Amoore

Luke Myer, a director at this university, is a liar and a thief. He straight up stole over $800 from me by telling bald faced lies. Any institution that would employ such an individual is suspect to me. Watch your back here.

My SISTER GOES THERE.

My son attended college here for 3 years with minimal input to the difficulty of navigating his way through college financial aid- class issues- available classes etc. very limited guidance and it's always .."someone else's department or job" It takes 3 days minimum to get a response via phone or email and when you do they send you to someone who lacks a human condition or ability to speak without judgment and they really only care about the money not the students! The administrative process is a nightmare. My son in his third year was diagnosed with a serious health condition and had to withdraw from school- he made the formal withdrawal request and left school to return home. He gave address change etc. the billing department never received address information from the business office and so they sent my son to collections prematurely rather than contacting him, us or making a resolution to make payments because someone didn't change the address in their system. When I called to work out an arrangement I had to speak with someone who said things so condescendingly like..."if your son had paid his bill" (side note: we didn't know that the amount was due as we had financial aid paying everything directly with student loans) they refused to help us and had zero compassion for the serious health issues- strain to pay the amount in 1/3 payments...which are sizable! On top of this, the Math Department is a joke- the professor for Calculus fails nearly all her students and yet the college does nothing to concern themselves with the ratio of failing students! No help or guidance what so ever, although they claim they have a tutoring department...student led tutoring is what it is and it's not always very satisfactory and rarely available when you need it most. :Library closes at weird hours and is unavailable in the evenings due to administrative cut backs etc. Sure wish I knew where the 20k a year went we paid! The cafeteria feeds our kids disgusting non- food vendor machine style foods! The fees and book requirements are a joke- 60-150 for a paper photo copied book that they use very little. Oh...and the college recruitment fairs by the big oil companies...don't hold your breath- they are looking at 4.0 students. This school can say all it wants to about it's success rate but seriously it is in the most mentally depressing area with nothing to do, and the employees hardly give a hoot about your kid and his or her success. Go somewhere where you can be sure to receive guidance and adept administrative and business staff. Choose a school that holds their students accountable and insists on educating them about the process of college and it's difficulties.

I really liked going here. Engineering school was very good.
