Beautiful Campus, but....
Its a liberal arts college that falls into the problem of being politically correct and most of the students are stereotypical naive, closed-minded leftists. If you disagree with them when it comes to politics, prepare for name calling. Some students have spoken out against this and are more open-minded, but this is slowly fading.
It didn't get too politically correct and leftist until the 2016 election and students were getting attacked for voting for Trump or showing a small amount of support for him or his policies. Many are even hostile of Republican/conservative view points.
And if that doesnt make it worse, a movement called CarlsTalkback started making a bunch of unnecessary demands, such as demanding more students of color on campus, more gender neutral bathrooms, more poc and trans, queer, etc. staff, etc. (Unfortunately, you can find all of their demands online). Instead of the college just saying no, they bent over backwards and are trying to fill some of these demands. The movement is sadly still around.
But honestly, the campus is full of teachers and staff who geniunely care about students, and the students who aren't sjw crazed are friendly and quirky. Problem is the politics and students get so leftist that they can't function let alone think critically (especially among the upperclassmen). The tuition and businesses around here are overpriced too, but if you can handle that and the politics (or can avoid it), then Carleton might be for you.
