This is an excellent college with outstanding professors who want to know that you understand the instructions/lessons, retain what you were advised, and use what you were taught. The campus is breath taking...you don't mind studying while laying outside on the grass and listening to music or just the winds. The grounds are immaculate. The food is even great. Want to wonder off campus??? Well, feel free but security is "always at the entrance" to assure that students (and associated staff/faculty/friends) are the only ones on campus. It is not only a safe campus but you truly feel secluded from the world when you are there. Top Security, Top Academics, Top buildings, Nice rooms, Great people, Outstanding professors, Wonderful activities, Great events. It certainly will "spoil" you.

One of the event/conference services directors is not good at returning your call/email. To be honest, I've never seen anything like this. Very unprofessional. Not sure if it's some sort of discrimination.

I am definitely biased because my daughter attends Goucher, but this is a great college. I'm so impressed with the programming, the diversity in the student body and the kindness of the leadership. If you're looking a quality liberal arts school for your youngster you should definitely consider Goucher College.

My son picked Goucher from a large list of potential colleges. He wanted a liberal arts, multi-degree, east coast college....close to DC....but not too close. He is about to enter his second semester of his freshman year. He has shared with me that he loves the campus, the students, the faculty, and the selection of courses. We highly recommend Goucher to any student who is looking for a true liberal arts education, in a semi-urban setting on the east coast with full and easy access to DC, NYC, and Baltimore, the opportunity to design their own degree, and the requirement that the educational track includes an international experience.

Security needs an update and there needs to be more lights on campus. I've never felt so unsafe walking through a campus. Cafeteria prices are unfair, the dorm buildings are dirty (Stimson's stairwells have 4+ inches of dust on them), and the only nice area of the school is Pagliaro Selz Hall, which is only for Freshman (absolutely heinous). I think the school needs to assess who they are serving, the students or the investors. Update: Their three newest buildings are only for freshmen. As far as respecting students this school fails time and time again. If you want a high priced, alienating, and disrespectful college experience Goucher will be sure to meet those standards. The college has also cut many majors and minors. Which begs the question: What are they doing with the piles and piles of money the students bring in?

This is where my grandmother, Elsa Kingman Newberry, graduated from in 1931, when the college was in downtown Baltimore.

It is a Liberal Art School. The campus is nice and safe. They have security guard in the night. The only reason is I am giving it four stars is cause of the construction. It is annoying to drive around.

Horrible institution. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. The entire college is just a money making scam. They don't care about your education here or your rights to an education. The administration is awful and has no clue what they're doing. If they don't like you for one reason or another they will begin targeting, harassing and attacking you until you get out of their school because they don't actually want you there. They aren't innovative or friendly, all they do is falsely advertise these things. Half of the people who enroll here as a freshman want to GTFO and transfer someplace better at the end of their first semester. This college depresses the students who live on campus. Only send your kids here if you want to waste your time, money, and degrade your child's mental health. Your time and money could be going to a better school that actually cares about the well-being and education of your child. Any school that you choose WILL be better than Goucher College in every aspect, even a community college. Again, DO NOT GO HERE if you don't want to waste your own valuable time and money. There are plenty of better options around. If I had the option to rate Goucher as 0 stars, I would.

Some of my family were there for the MS walk sponsored by the school. I would just like to say that the event was well planned and executed by the staff, and mostly student volunteers. I was quite impressed with how helpful and friendly everyone was to all of the walkers. Outstanding Job!

My son is happy at the school. It has such a friendly relaxed atmosphere. I always feel welcome on campus when I visit. I love it.

Five stars is not enough to describe the 4 years I spent here. I graduated in '06 and it was such a happy place filled with happy memories. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities I had to grow and establish myself as a writer and thinker.

Great location and quiet campus; friendly security guards, maintenance & cafeteria workers. But...Dorm doors are not always locked. Security gate is a joke. Technology is outdated. Grass not cut as often as it should be. Scarce parking. Classrooms are a lot like high school. Cafeteria has large selection, but like all cafeteria food you will get tired of it and since this is a small school there are no on campus alternatives.
