Does anyone know if Bowdoin teaches any American history courses? Since Bowdoin is so dedicated to developing "Global citizens", there is really no need to teach anything about "his/her" country. This is somewhat similar to having no American literature courses for English majors! Since most of higher education has been deconstructed by the elites, every student can receive a diploma which denotes that they are educated, but, heaven forbid,if you were to ask them a question about history or literature or most anything that happened before 1965! If you think that I am wrong, try it!

During the fall...the campus looks very colorful...this is always a nice place to visit during that time. This is also one of the top colleges for academics AND food!

Great place! I recommend seeing both museums- free admission. If you want you can go study at the library - I recommend the 6th floor of the old library. Accessible and friendly campus.

Nice campus. Walked around the campus on a Sunday afternoon. Buildings appear to be be locked as I saw students using a badge/fob to open the doors.

This school is the most superficial place I have encountered. I am beyond glad to be out of there. I thought that I had met friends for life during my first year, but instead no one ever talks to one another. Also, the administration is useless and will do anything to shut you up if you are not a typical (fake) happy Bowdoin student. Bowdoin is also mediocre. They pride themselves on their academics but they hire some of the most awful professors.

Feels like an extension of boarding school and the administration seems desperately concerned with the school's image.

Jim-great rehash of an article proven mostly false. As an alum, I can attest to both American History and American Literature featuring prominently at Bowdoin. Bowdoin is a fantastic school that provides fantastic opportunities to its students. Clubs, activities, and programs are numerous and complement well the rigorous academics.

Best campus in my opinion

Bowdoin wasn't my top choice school. I didn't get into Stanford, so I chose my favorite out of the prominent Liberal Arts Colleges (Williams, Middlebury, etc.) At first I had second thoughts coming here. It wasn't my top choice, and I wasn't sure I made the right decision. Yet, I'm happier than ever here. Everything about this campus is so welcoming. The classes are hard, and you have to put in a lot of effort, but that's part of what I like about it. Everything about this place pushes you to excel and be the best you can be. Don't get me wrong, I love Bowdoin, but to a further extent, I love the person that Bowdoin made me become.
