I retired from the USAF in June of 2012. My primary duty assignment during most of my USAF career was as a flight instructor in the B-52G/H. Although I had over 1,500 hours as an AF instructor pilot, my time was all multi-engine IP time. Upon arriving in Leesville to take a job as a civilian contractor at Fort Polk while waiting on a flying position to open up in Pueblo, CO, I found PAA on the internet.
My goal, and a requirement for my new job as a civilian flight instructor at Doss Aviation, was to obtain a CFI rating to add to my multi-engine instructor and CFII ratings. I had an instant bond with the folks at PAA in Leesville, and we began to develop a plan to accomplish my instruction. After discussing options with the staff I found out I might qualify to use my Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to fulfill my goal. Although it took a couple of months for the paperwork to process and I couldn’t start until the fall term, my training went very smoothly and everyone was wonderful to work with at PAA, and MCTC.
I will not forget the folks at PAA nor the level of professionalism shown by them as we worked toward completing my training and completing my single engine land add-on and then my CFI rating. I highly recommend PAA to anyone pursuing a rating in the aviation field! Top notch organization and organized to enure your success!
