You know that you're dealing with people who are interested solely in your money when the first thing they say to you when you walk through the door carrying your pet is, "You know there's an automatic $90 consulting fee?" These people stop just short of extorting money from you. They wouldn't do anything for my dog until I coughed up $400 (in addition to the "consulting fee") right there on the spot.
I've used several veterinary services in Baton Rouge, but the LSU Vet School was the absolute worst, hands down. One would think that a veterinary service affiliated with the flagship university would be top notch, but that is not my observation. Words aren't sufficient to describe what a horrible experience I had with these people.
They are grossly overpriced, to begin with. On top of that, their billing/accounting office cannot get billing correct. Whether deliberate or accidental due to very sloppy procedure, it is more than annoying to continue receiving a bill for service already paid for. The final indignity is that I wasted my money because the "doctor" there completely misdiagnosed my dog's problem. In that regard, it was like dealing with a second year veterinary student.
I will not take an animal there ever again. I absolutely despise the LSU Vet School and can only hope that the veterinarians they churn out are better people and more understanding human beings than the ones who actually work there.
