This school is the worst community college I ever been to. The process to get started is like walking through fire. No one knows what the other hand is doing. No one ever answers the phone. The professor are the most unorganized and uncaring people I have ever met, not to mention they make you pay for every big test or exam to take through some proctor u company. They tell you study one thing but then the it's not even on the test. This will my first and last semester at Delta. This college should be investigated and I will be writing the Governor to inform him of this so the community college will be investigated. They need to put shut down. They are crooked!!!

Every time I have called the new Winnsboro campus, I have received nothing but attitudes and unwillingness to help me. I work full time and am unable to just run up there. Getting someone to call me back is nearly impossible, and when they do they have had an attitude.

The faculty here really wants you to succeed and strives for greatness as they do so.

Don't walk, run far away from this institution of "higher learning." If there is an alternative to taking courses at this college, do so. From my experience, LA Delta Community College has been a constant source of misleading information, as its financial aid, admissions, and registrar offices are often unorganized (to put it very lightly). Likewise, their policies are subject to change as quickly as they make them, but I am sure this is done to keep their "credentials." Like most other students you will probably have the pleasure of speaking to around campus, the financial aid office will become an undoubted issue in one way or another during your attendance. Please make sure that you have readily available cash stashed away or credit cards on-hand, as you may not receive that elusive "refund check" until it is well past taking your first exam. A word of advice for future students, be fully prepared for the headaches you may have to endure before attending this college, and (by all means) make sure that you get everything in writing when speaking to someone within any office, because the burden of proof will always be on you for their mistakes.

I attend delta community college and I didn't have any problems with my financial aid it paid for all my books the only thing that I had to wait on was my refund that came out in the middle of the semesters unlike other schools, delta does that because they are trying to make sure everyone attends class before the financial aid is received. I;m not sure why you didn't receive money for you books but I did at the very beginning. I love this school all of the teachers are very helpful, they help push each students to do their best. I'm currently in my third semester, passing all my classes.

Very disappointed with this college. I stopped by with my daughter to look into the college programs and the staff was very rude. It seems as though they were trying to rush us out instead of answering our questions. I was told numerous times to look online, instead of the staff answering a basic question. That first impression was all that I needed to walk away from this university. I’m commenting on the Bastrop staff who were not friendly and were very cold during our visit. If a manager is reading this, I hope he/she is aware that their staff needs to be polite and insightful. Very disappointed!!

THIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE IS TRASH AND THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN ASAP. None of their fax machines work. The staff and students are rude and unprofessional. Also the staff do not do their jobs properly and effectively. They lack interpersonal and communication skills. Very unorganized and inefficient . SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND HEADACHE; IF YOU WANT A WELL-ROUNDED AND GREAT EDUCATION DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL AVOID LDCC AT ALL COST GO TO ULM OR LSU. MOST OF THE STUDENTS THAT ATTEND THIS COLLEGE IS THERE FOR THE PELL GRANT MONEY WHILE THE TEACHERS AND OTHER STAFF IS THERE FOR A PAY CHECK. THEY GIVE STUDENTS AND EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONALS A BAD NAME AND REPUTATION.

A nice school with a clean campus. My reason for three stars has to do with Delta's issues when it comes to disbursing financial aid payments to students. Delta holds grant monies until late in the semester, supposedly to protect themselves from students receiving their grant money then dropping classes. I'm sure there are other ways the college could handle this issue without potentially harming poor students who do not have the means to pay for college basics at the beginning of the semester. As it stands, the college takes it's cut of the financial aid money off the top, and students are left to flounder without aid to buy their books or other supplies. I realize there are other colleges out there that do this, that Delta is not unique in the way it handles its financial aid. However, if I had a choice to do it all again, had I known I would not have financial aid to help me purchase books or help me get started at the beginning of the year when the grant money is most needed, I would have chosen another school. If you are a potential student and you know you will be relying on financial aid, consider this a heads up. Know before you register at Delta that you will not receive any financial aid at the beginning of the semester to pay for your books or starter supplies. Prepare to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket for those things.

SO DISPLEASE WITH THIS COLLEGE. WHY ON EARTH IS IT STILL OPERATING THEY ARE CROOKS ROBING PEOPLE OF THEIR PELL GRANT DISBURSEMENT CHECKS. THEIR POLICIES AT THIS COLLEGE ARE TERRIBLE AND NOT CREATED WITH AN GOOD EDUCATIONAL MINDSET. I EMPLOY YOU PEOPLE WHO WANT TO ATTEND COLLEGE IN MONROE DO NOT ATTEND THIS COLLEGE FOR YOU WILL HAVE YOUR HANDS FULL OF YOUR HAIR FROM PULLING IT OUT WHEN DEALING WITH THE UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF, NOT WELL KEPT FACILITY, AND SHADOWY COLLEGE PRACTICES FROM REGISTRATION ALL THE WAY THROUGH ADMISSIONS.

The faculty members can be a little more helpful when trying to become a student. Also some of the employees here are kinda rude, but once you pass that stage & never have to deal with them again, you're good. It's a good school though.
