The Pharmacy Tech program with Joshua Deiss in Boise was great. He is such a great teacher. He is willing to go above and beyond helping his students understand the material needed in the field. Very patient and understanding. I would recommend his class to anyone. Way to go CWI for having him teach at your facility!

THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME GREATER SELF ESTEEM! I took the GED prep classes, then passed the test. I took the CNA course, then passed, now am full time employed!!! I took the phlebotomy course, then passed, now have greater job opportunities!! Everyone made me feel like....I'm somebody with value too, even though I started as a High School drop out with a baby. I feel confident in myself now, I KNOW I can do anything I set my mind to. Thank you team CWI!!

I really appreciate everything the staff has helped me with. Being a first time college student, I had many questions. The staff guided me in the right direction. I'm also impressed with how easy financial aid was to process. Emails are sent out to notify me of any responsibilities regarding financial aid and important dates. I'm very impressed with this school! I will miss it when I transfer to BSU!

I never had a problem with this school other than the One Stop line always took forever, it was a joke. Plus the guy that was usually there was not the nicest guy ever. Customer service skills needed improvement. The college was convenient though. Lower tuition for the same classes Boise State had to offer and were transferable. Parking was better than Boise State's disastrous parking situation. And faculty that was competent and helpful. I'd recommend this option for anyone seeking lower division courses.

This is my 4th semester at CWI. All of my classes have been online. I've not had any problems with financial aid, other than having to follow the process through to be sure everything was completed. The recent change to remove any online math options has been a great inconvenience. I anticipate it will interfere with completion of my Psych degree.

Beware of these "college" establishment. If you owe these people any money, beware, because they send to extremely scammy, scummy and ripoff artist collection agencys. That will try to charge the maximum Collection fees. Avoid attending this school if u do any sort of business with them. Avoid this school and attend a real school like BSU.

I have nothing positive to say.

There's something definitely wrong at this school; lost paperwork, communication issues, transparency issues. Get it sorted please, CWI!

I've been here for school, work classes, and technical tests. Overall it is a good school. The campus is well taken care of and the staff is very friendly. I would suggest this school if you are a canyon county resident who is trying to get through school without having to make the trip to Boise State University.

CWI screwed me over they allowed me to take a class that has a prerequisite for the next semester for a class that I took this semester spring 17 and I need to retake the class but I have to do the prerequisite before even retaking it even though i went through it. Wasted my time and money. They should have this in place before I took the class for this spring ☹️

I loved the Pharmacy Tech Class! Joshua Deiss was a fantastic teacher! He encouraged creativity, and was easily understandable. I appreciated his teaching style and his humor. Definitely a wonderful experience!

Parking lot was a joke. There was a foot of snow on the ground and I parked in the first spot I found. I was immediately told to move because it was a handicapped space, even though there were no posted handicapped signs or even paint on the road. (I dug it out and looked). They need to invest in signs and paint of they are going to claim a spot as a handicapped spot. I shouldn't be asked to give up my spot for your negligence.

Attempted to withdraw from the school within the allowed time frame. I had called numerous times, left voicemails, sent e-mails, and even attempted to show up in person, but nobody could help me in a timely manner with a simple matter(the withdrawl). Took 3 weeks to finally get to a person who could help me file the papers. Three months went by, then in December 2011, I started getting collection calls. I had never been told I owed them anything, and by rights I shouldn't owe a cent! I stopped even attending before the withdraw date, and I had attempted for weeks to withdraw. Not only that, by law I have to receive a signed collection notice, notifying me of the backbalance before collections can get involved. I am now getting harassing phone calls from a collections agency about something I SHOULD NOT OWE!!! It's not my fault they are understaffed and oversold! This is unethical, shady practice, and is actually ILLEGAL. I would advise avoiding CWI at all costs, their communication between student and administration really lacks, and that is actually why I quit! I'm going to Boise State University(which is actually accredited), and never looking back!!! I have also filed a formal complaint with the BBB, and I am considering involving the federal agencies as well. And BTW, Courtney in the Student Accounts office argued with me for over 30 minutes playing games, telling me they it's not their fault. I never even got a balance or collections notice, which I have to receive by law.

Solid institution with caring qualified faculty. You can't beat the value of a CWI education.

I warn everybody contemplating coming here for school to think twice. Their Veterans office and Admin offices are awful. They can't give you a straight answer about anything and will just pass the buck off onto someone or something else. I also agree with other users, you will have to fight for your refund checks. I've seen them mess up addresses on return checks and numerous other clerical errors that they have no excuse to make. Perception is reality and it's common knowledge that CWI is a mess. I strongly recommend you fight for admission to BSU or another accredited school. I for one am incredibly dissapointed with all aspects of their staff and will always have a negative view on this "school" if you want to call it that.

If i could rate this school a 0 i would. I recently moved from out of state, and just started my first semester at this school. My fiance and i have numerous issues, and it's only the second week of class. If you want financial aid from this school, good luck its a joke. We've been working on financial aid since FEBRUARY and still don't have it. We go to "one stop" and they say "oh no, you need this this this and this". Okay, fine so we would do that and go back to turn in what they wanted, then it was "nope that's all wrong you don't need any of this, this is what you need". It's been a ton of loopholes and i feel as if the staff aren't trained properly and we've been told different things every time. Their website is outdated and way behind other schools. Blackboard is unorganized, their payment plans are a joke. I had issues just trying to buy my textbooks, you would think that would be simple right?! Not at this school. They have a 10% graduation rate and i can see why. They make me want to move just to find a better school. Don't take online classes either because there teachers drop you for "nonattendance" when really their just unorganized and can't correctly check the assignments via the students. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS.

Vaughn Knapp

Derrick was really helpful at the OneStop in Nampa. Placement in Organic Chem class and Lab had gotten messed up and he really advocated to get that fixed. I appreciate his help and if you have registration issues with the website he will help you!

David Turcotte

I watch someone who is studying there struggle week after week to turn in simple assignments!! There is ZERO HELP WHEN QUESTIONS ARISE..The teachers are scatterbrained and will change whole assignments the day of completion!! Totally unprofessional I suggest you take your schooling elsewhere!! It's finals right now and no way to attach the PowerPoint to the class .. Nice Job CWI what a joke!!!!

Haley Jenkins

CWI is the most unprofessional business I have ever encountered. They don't care about their students we are just dollar signs to them! Watch out how they spend tax payer money on unqualified teachers. Oh, they will also abandon you when your course only has a month left in it. My recommendation is to not go to this school. I know it may be tempting due to cheaper tutition but trust me it's not worth it! Invest in yourself and your education with a higher quality school!

Melinda Wenberg

I was there for the GED program it was really good they came to my institution and had classes with individual attention and tutoring for each student as well as the testing. This was in August through October 2010.

Eve Gimmel

All my experiences at College of Western Idaho have really been outstanding; from the friendly main office to the quality teachers, and the helpful librarians! I am so impressed by the quality of instruction i am receiving; my teachers are excellent instructors who are courteous and professional. My hats off to this brand new college, if CWI is this good now I am sure they will have a bright and fruitful future. A real asset to the Treasure Valley! I'm a very satisfied customer!

Zero, zero, zero! CWI is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever had to deal with !!!!! Beware ! After you pay your tuition of 8k plus all the extras you have to pay after words they don't have supplies to teach you. They go through teachers like "underwear" (we were abandoned by 7 teachers in 9 month of the program) CWI hires the staff who has no idea what to do with class full of students. Or it's a teacher who is wasting your time by reading you a book word in word that you purchased for 200$.Or teacher who just talks about her personal life and giving so much TMI that you just wonder, or teacher who is calling students names, or teachers who has 0 experience in teaching...Not too mention all the problems you will run into with technical side...BY THE WAY don't wait for a respond from One stop Student or Work force development. Thank God 9 month MA program got shut down. It's a sham. it's not worth it! Take your money and run away from this place!

Nicole Shackelford

I have been very impressed with CWI and the people who work here. The one stop student service is amazing and the people are very patient and helpful. I have delt with Jessa Walker a few times and shes always just the greatest! The advisors respond quickly to any questions and concerns and eager to help you if they can! I am really proud to call CWI my school!

Abbey Lawson

A friend of mine was considering going to this college but she had to wait to talk to somebody. I don't know anything about this college besides the fact that it takes forever for them to talk to you about tuition. Another reason why she decided against it was because it didn't offer mechanics that were good enough for her. I hear from other people that it isn't the best place for college and that they are lousy with your money. All in all, I know I won't be attending and hope everyone else is smart enough to get their butt out of there.

Tecle Gebremicheal

I would not go to this school period never they suck and do not work with u if you are looking for a school go threw tvcc or another community college or if u can bsu

Kyle Nielebeck

This is a terrible school! My Fiance and I have had numerous problems with receiving Financial Aid! They forced my Fiance to take extra classes that she didn't need so that they could make more money.... Their professors suck, this college is a huge waste of time and a load of crap! I have never once been awarded financial aid in the two years I have attended either.... this will not go unpunished!

Michael Rostratter

fabulous programs

Great facility, I had no problems with getting my financial aid or refund. Although it seems the staff and system are unorganized at times. Their website could definitely use an upgrade.

Courtney Santillan

Wonderful place focused on student success!

Low tuition, highly demanded career choices, amazing faculty. What else could you ask for?

Nicole Mcgrath-Schmid

Low tuition, great instructors and staff. Free parking and plenty of it! Also, as a student you receive Microsoft Office Suite for free to download on your computer (as long as you have an active school email), which saves tons of money. The staff wants you to succeed and they will provide you the tools to do so. I look forward to when I transfer to BSU, however, I will sincerely miss this community college. Highly recommend!

If you want to go to a decent school where EVERYTHING is included in the lower cost to get an MA from a certified school try Northwest Laser institute, they pay for your shots, your books, your immunizations, your CPR and your uniform and your background check. And they have an excellent teacher not a cobbled together mess like CWI Current and previous teachers have no experience with the medical assistant field. They go through instructors like underwear and they are just as crappy.

Nathaniel H

Have had nothing but good things to say during my semester this Summer 2017. Starting here soon for Fall 2017 and will be able to graduate with an additional degree, which is awesome! They are quick, inexpensive and effecient. Overall 9/10

I am extremely disappointed in the a manager of the bookstore for the lack of help and assistance. Stephanie Walker was extremely rude and out of line as a manager of merchandise. She has a horrible attitude and talked extremely loud in front of everyone in the store, stating that I had no money on my card and that I was probably sent to collections. Her assuming that, and then said that I lied because I had told her I never got a message of the date of my book. I brought my book in, paid...because I DO have money in my account and I was never sent to collections. I am now shocked that someone who works for the College of Western Idaho, would talk to a student in that way. I am normally not one to post bad reviews but I am extremely embaressed and hurt by the way I was assisted in the bookstore by Stephanie Walker.

I love this place really affordable and great

If I could give 0 stars I would. Please be aware of this college!! I will never recommend this college to anyone. I took the MA class and had numerous teachers, one who had never worked as an MA, others who were unprofessional. Our whole class was promised by administrators that we would have the tools needed at the end of our 9 month program. That wasn't true. Never once did anyone check to see if these teachers were actually teaching us, our complaints went on deaf ears about teacher after teacher. At Our externships we were told by the teacher that she would come and see if things were going okay. This didn't happen either. Our last 4 months were a complete mess. We stuck together as a group and worked together to learn from YouTube and the internet. We have ask repeatedly to speak with David Shellberg but have been refused as a group to do so. I personally feel that this college cares nothing about the students nor the issues happening inside these programs. I paid over $10,000.00 total to learn a job only to have never learned numerous skills that I should have been taught in the last 4 weeks of class as well as in the front office section of the course.

Signing up for an online class and getting thru the site to get to the class has been a BIG pain.....by the time I got the 'welcome email" for the director as to my sign-on info I'd already received that info from the auto-system and changed my password. Then I got the directors info and it was outdated and fouled up what I already did. However after brusingly resolving that once inside my portal theres no obvious link to my class. Seems if they'd just offerred me a direct link to my CLASS I'd be on my way however I'm stuck and waiting for HelpDesk.....PS help desk online request items DON'T have or allow for a online inquire ......ahhhh

The fact that $4,591.00 of my student aid is unaccounted for makes me consider contacting the local news to bring this to peoples attention. I hope that I'm not being ripped off. When I communicated with other students regarding this issue I was informed that they do this as often as they can get away with it. this is reason for concern. When I contacted the staff and requested a list of my fees and expenses as a student, what I'm being billed for. They provided the detailed list quickly. However when I brought the $4,591.00 which is unaccounted for to the administrations attention they failed to respond. perhaps they are having a siesta. i will follow through with this and continue to ensure accuracy in my review. the administration seems ok. the tuition cost is fair and the instructors are decent and knowledgeable people. other than this issue of $4,591.00 of my student aid being unaccounted for, thousands of dollars which i will have to pay for plus interest, the school is a good start for those who wish to continue their education. hopefully this gets resolved soon. A Didn't get resolved goto WGU instead. You'll be doing homework online regardless.

DO NOT TAKE CHEMISTRY HERE IF YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO KNOW IT. I took ochem I a year and a half ago and later transferred to BSU. I changed my major and now have to take organic chemistry II. I'm having a heck of a time in the class because I was not taught many of the concepts you need to know for the second semester of ochem. What I actually was taught, I know pretty well; however, there is just SO MUCH we didn't learn that I now have to catch up on. The rest of the education is pretty okay, only chemistry was lacking. English especially was good. Also, I'm seconding the guy talking about Daniel L. at the one stop. Every time I've dealt with him, he has had a bad attitude and gave bad information. Regarding Cristin's review about supposedly required "Extra credits", she's totally full of it. They don't force you to take any classes if you're just going to transfer. Check with the establishment you're transferring to and figure out which classes you need and which will transfer. Then take the ones that transfer, it's that easy. Ultimately, it's your responsibility to figure out which classes you do and do not take. It looks like Cristin has trouble accepting that.
