Wiregrass is an excellent college to get your core classes in. My experiences with most university professor's core classes have not been that great, and I ended up missing Wiregrass. They use BlackBoard, which is much easier and more efficient than the D2L system offered at VSU. Most university-level professors don't put much effort into their core classes, but Wiregrass professors are top-notch people to work with. I ended up being good friends with at least 3 out of 5 professors every semester
However, if you don't show some initiative, they won't work with you because they are reasonable people. They aren't there to pander to you, they are there to teach you.
As VSU has a requirement that first year students (students with under 30 credits hours completed) must live on campus, going to Wiregrass is a MUST for cost-efficient students like myself. Boarding and eating at VSU is insanely expensive, and isn't worth the 'college experience' (even though their campus is absolutely beautiful to walk through).
I would NOT go to Wiregrass with the intent of completing a two year degree and *then* transferring to VSU. If you want full transfer credit, you should just stick to doing your core classes there, and then degree specific courses should be taken at your chosen 4-year college. If you aren't looking at transferring, then a 2-year degree from Wiregrass is an excellent investment in your future!
Thank you!
