Here you will see the feddbacks of people like you who buy the services and products of University of North Georgia (College) in the state of Georgia.
Now this firm gets a score of 4.1 stars over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 81 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings is very positive, and it is founded on a high number of reviews, so we can think that the assessment is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This College corresponds to the category of Public university.
Expensive place to go to school, but of you can afford it, a great education!
Great college
They make it so hard to get any paperwork from them. Every time I need a copy of my transcript it is like pulling teeth
Although many of the students and professors here are great, the university itself is not. The people in charge of running the school are completely incompetent.
Great secluded campus near the mountains. Nice little town surrounding the area, everything is within walking distance or biking. My son just finished Frog Week. so more to come.
I've noticed they have increased required class offerings this semester and so I have revised my review. All the small issues are working out. Keep up the hard work UNG.
My mom went to this school
None of the campuses are in sync. Rules are always changing so my advisers mostly give me the answer of "I don't know." I took a few years off between colleges and since being here at UNG All of my semesters have had a GPA above 3.0 except one and because of that one financial aid has been denied for 3 semesters in a row. I have to work 2 jobs just to pay out of pocket to take classes. There is a GPA they use for the appeal forms, but it's not available on banner web, so, you have to go in person to find out what this magical GPA is that they're using because it isn't the one they give you. Time and time again I am screwed over by this school but I have no choice. Classes for BA program are twice as much as it is in the AA program. Same class, but if you're in a different degree program it'll cost twice as much. So you can see why i'm so limited since i'm paying out of pocket. Despite all of my efforts to increase my GPA, take full time classes WHILE working two jobs, they still tell me i'm not good enough. Thanks for making it so hard to attend school UNG. My passion to learn should not be thwarted financially around every turn like you have done.
Graduate in 2015 with a B.B.A. in Finance and Marketing. Consolidation is over and this school is full steam ahead. One of only three institutions in the state to grow enrollment. The Dahlonega campus has everything you need as a college student except a lively nightlife. (Only fun on Thursday and Friday nights) Very respected in the USG community.
I live here...
So, I thought about writing this review carefully and decided I really need to share this with any current and potential students at UNG. I enrolled to UNG graduate classes for Spring semester of 2018 and took 3 classes. First 2 professors were outstanding, save for the third that absolutely did not tolerate difference in opinion. Namely, if you believe in the 1st Amendment and if you speak your mind you will be suspended by this school. I criticized my fellow classmates’ poor writing, their unfounded ideas, faulty logic and irrational thinking and was critical of this mainstream millennial generation. For this, I was reported by the professor in question to the dean for being disorderly. I won the disorderly “tribunal” however the professor then used that win to retaliate against me and failed me based on my perceived behavior and not my knowledge of the subject matter. Absolutely pathetic school. They are infantilizing their students and not preparing them for the field they are studying - especially in sociology. I would advise to move on and find another school - there are plenty options believe me.
It is a great University, I hope Diego could go there.
Love UNG!
If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This is a TERRIBLE SCHOOL. The financial aid office is a complete joke, and it is made pretty clear they don't care about you. They don't care if you can pay for school, or if your aid is DELAYED the week before school starts!! They WONT return your phone calls. If you want anything done, you have to go there yourself and demand to have things fixed. The administration as a whole is the most incompetent group of people I've ever seen in my life. Registrar, fin aid, all of it is terrible. Be warned and check your banner account very frequently.
Good looking campus with great views of the mountains
Beautiful campus, great views of the mountains in some places. The Campus Police are pretty cool!
This is a beautiful little school with friendly people. The English language program for international students (CLE) is like a family. The classes are small and are tailored to preparing international students for university.
I graduated from his college twice, once in 1984 with an associate degree and again in 1989 with a bachelor degree in nursing. This was a high light in my life. I was an older student and could appreciate what learning was all about. This college is great and a great asset to our region of GA. Those that disagree need to go else where.
(I am writing this under this abbreviated name out of fear of reprisal) UNG is one of the most incompetent, blundering, and criminal institutions I have ever had the misfortune to experience. They have stolen several thousand dollars from my family because we didn't send checks to quite the correct places, they dropped an important class I had 2 weeks before school started, the faculty and staff are a JOKE and refuse to even MENIALLY help out in any way, and overall it's a massive dumpster fire. If I could give this negative stars, I would. You might as well burn two thousand dollars a year, at least then you might stay warm and receive some benefit from it rather than throwing it at the bloated, disgusting mess that is UNG.
great people, environment, and experience.
Avoid they will rob you
It really is a great school. The only negative is there Rec Center workers. Most of them are simply beyond rude.
You've earned five stars UNG. I'm just sad that the GVL campus doesn't have dorms.
The best university in Georgia!
The campus is beautiful. I do not know about the education because I have only visited for the graduation of a family member, but they enjoy the activities in downtown Dahlonega, the local area.
Stay away from the Masters in Teaching program!!! This degree program is replete with professors who are woefully ill-informed about the subject matter within which they allegedly have expert knowledge. In this program one will learn about all sorts of theories, be required to read the works of educational leftists, and will be exposed to all sorts of leftist propaganda designed to indoctrinate future teachers into an extreme-leftist state of mind. The student is also required to write one paper after another in order to determine the effectiveness of the indoctrination upon ones points of view. Those students who express a conservative viewpoint are systematically targeted for removal from the UNG Masters in Teaching program through the use of documented false allegations that facilitate expeditious removal from the college. Throughout the course of the program, while undergoing all sorts of exposure to leftist twaddle, that which is beneficial for new teachers to learn is nowhere to be found. As a result, completion of this degree program fails to prepare future teachers for that which they will encounter as they enter the teaching profession. To say that some of the professors within the UNG College of Education are disgraces to their profession who routinely exercise very poor judgment is an understatement.
AVOID THIS UNIVERSITY - I was very excited of my acceptance. However, after I attend two full years, I'm fully discussed with the nickle and dime method to cover their losses due to the drop of student attendance because of their poor student relations and zero job placement support. This university is very difficult to work with, its like dealing with the DMV/government... I strongly encourage you study other universities and AVOID at all costs North GA.
Great, regional university that focuses on student success and leadership development.
The campus is nice looking and in a great place. I only took tests there so my review is a 3 star instead of higher. I'll come back to this once I visit agaib.
Well, I just visited the campus and was nice, still in expansion and looks like a young institutions with potentialities.
All the staff is so rude. They just really hate helping people telling by the attitude they give.
This is a very friendly and great place.
BEAUTIFUL AREA !!!
As an Alumni of UNG, I loved my entire experience from the Gainesville campus to Dahlonega. Made great professor relationships which helped me obtain my educational goal.
Professors are great - they're the only reason that UNG gets any stars. The staff could all burn. They're not helpful, punctual, or nice. If you need something from one of the offices you better start that process two months before you really need it or you're going to be screwed.
I have been a student at the University for a few years and am quite satisfied with their commitment to keeping class sizes on the small side to help students learn. After the consolidation, it was bit rocky with all the changes, but I feel the University handled it to the best of their ability. UNG is one of the lowest funded Universities in the state, while being the 7th largest. This is not a failure on the part of the school, but the system in which the school resides. I feel they do a great job with the resources they are afforded.
I went there as a student for only about three weeks and the staff there are really nice, the campus is small and cozy but for people who dont like stairs and hills its probably not the place for you. Otherwise it's quiet and fun and i loved it. Although as an African-American I did experience some racial issues, but only discreet ones such as scared looks and fear of touching me and afraid to be in the same room as me and things like that, but all in all being the only black person there i still had a lot of fun.
The teacher's here are usually amazing, particularly in the History department. The campus and town are mind-numbingly dull, offering little outside of outdoor activity (that does not mean SGA should get involved because they waste our money). The administration--particularly the business office is utterly deplorable. I have never experienced more incompetence and rudeness than when I have to deal with these departments. One woman in Student Health confused a Brown Recluse bite with an ant bite. The campus is the most aesthetically pleasing I have seen, both within the buildings and the over-all landscape. TLDR Socially: If you are looking for cookie-cutter sorority life and if you have a tight group of friends it's fine. However, if you want any sort of activity don't come here. I mean, it is in Northern Georgia and that should be self-explanatory. Academically: I can only vouch for the History department, which is amazing. Administration: Financial Aide, Disability Services, and the Registrar are the only administrative offices with any idea what is going on. They should completely dismantle career services. Don't go to Student Health for more than a skimmed knee, and the business office is down right aggressive. UNG takes any opportunity to take your money. They even charge a 2% "convenience fee" to pay for your education. Over-all UNG is fine, but it isn't great. You might be happy here.
