The professors here are amazingly good! They are what's keeping me here. Most of the administration is terrible. When I got here I heard about it a lot from the senior students but I didn't realize how bad it is until I finished my first semester. Mold in your room? Too bad. Need your transcripts sent to another school? Too bad. Accidentally got billed twice for the meal plan? Too bad. Someone from another dorm in another building breaks something? Too bad, everyone gets billed. Want to live off campus? Too bad. So many students leave before they finish their first year and the administration is scratching their heads wondering why. The people in Housing and the Business Office need to be replaced, ask any student.

This is a marvelous, life-changing place, and it is not for everyone. Amazing professors, a tiny student body (for better and for worse), and a cutting-edge, progressive, research-driven vibe to the whole place. Amazing bayfront view and mansions for visitors.

The students at this school are incredible. Likely some of the most passionate and wise people I have ever met. The proffesors are also wonderdul for the most part. The administration is horrible however. With a total of 2 student affairs people who actually care about student well being and a housing staff who literally harrases and targets particular students. I would say be careful if you decide to go here and be ready to fight for your own physical and mental health.

This was years ago when I applied and was accepted - very nice from beginning to end. Very bright student who was a tour guide showed us around and noted how accepting the campus was of many different types of people. Beautiful campus next to the water, big dorms, and across the way was the studios of the Sarasota Ballet and on the other side, the Ringling Bros. School.

Their admissions office is a joke. Students answer the phone, are incompenet, rude, snooty, short (impatient), and unwilling to help. When you finally get an adult employee on the phone, you're met with an equally rude, snooty, unwilling, and extremely curt individual. With the cost of tuition at this college, you'd imagine they'd act a bit more professionally and express their gratitude for having you as a customer of the college (the one who funds their weekly paychecks). If you hate your job so much (student assistants and staff members), quit and find a different line of work.

New College is a one of a kind experience. Although the school may not be for everyone as it functions on extremely self motivated students and is very alternative, the education is one of the best. The small campus allows for such a strong sense of community and encourages students to be very actively involved in campus life and campus politics.

Never was a student here, parked in labeled visitor spot, got ruthlessly hunted for 35 dollar parking fine and threatened with legal actions. This school also disregarded the payment once, and sent away my appeal form. Trash administration.

We went on a college tour of New College of Florida. New College is a unique honors college that is part of the State University System of Florida. The tour was very informing about how New College focuses on academics, the arts, and a liberal arts college education. While New College is small, it has growth plans in place. The tour guide advised they have hired 15 new multidiscipline faculty members, with a goal to grow the college from about 800 to 1,200 students. Unique Observations: New College is located on Sarasota Bay, which makes for a beautiful and relaxing place to attend college, have special events, and participate in water sports. New College campus is split between the north and south side by Tamiami Trail, with a pedestrian walkover for students. New College is located very close to the Sarasota- Bradenton International Airport, which makes it very convenient to travel to and from the campus. Located in beautiful Sarasota, Florida, New College is closely connected with the local art, cultural, and outdoor recreation scene. For a true liberal arts education, you should consider New College of Florida.
