You have a lot of racist students on your campus. My daughter was looking to attend your fine institute, but I should take my hard earned money elsewhere, shame on you, God or Jesus did not teach hate.

Really happy all these keyboard warriors are so upset and offended at everything that occurs under the sun to find reasons not to come to CBU. The school is much better off without a bunch of bleating hearts campaigning for social justice for problems that don't even exist on campus. This truly works out in everyone's interest!

After contacting the school, and not getting a satisfactory answer. Haley Parea and Savannah Sugg threw a soda on the two men while quietly protesting. I sincerely hope they have been dropped from the school as who would want their children attending a higher education with these morons who don't seem to understand 'Freedom' that those two men where exercising. The very Hypocrisy that they can protest by throwing a drink at those that protest in peace is beyond belief. This shall following them for a long time and I hope they understand what they did was and will not be acceptable. They should hold a press conference and apologies to those two Lakers Fans for their indiscretion.

This school is a joke. Not only are the academics subpar, they are completely incompetent in the student and financial services department; very unhelpful. Also, for being a "Christian" University they sure do not act like it. I was very religious when I began at CBU, and after a year I was DONE. They make it seem like a cult and their "morals" are not my idea of christianity. I was threatened with expulsion on numerous occasions after a roommate left the school and told them I was Bipolar and had Schizophrenia. Both of which being untrue. The administration confronted me and said that if they found out I was lying, they would expel me for being a "danger to their community." Another time I was threatened was when I was confronted, again by administration, about whether or not a good friend and roommate was gay. I informed them that we did not discuss things like that to which they responded with "well if we find out you are lying, we will expel you for hiding it." Ok? Whatever happened to love and acceptance? But ok. The teachers are ok, nothing to write home about. I ended up graduating in 3 years just to get out. I was going to transfer to UNLV, but of my 90 units, only 12 transferred. So if you are looking to transfer, unless it is another Christian university like BIOLA or Azusa, you are stuck. Do not go here. A waste of time and money.

I will start off by saying that I have gone tow THREE other universities throughout obtaining an associates degree and working towards my bachelors. I found CBU through US News Best Online lists in which they are listed in the best for online education (among other lists). When I first started in Spring of 2015, it was so great. When I applied I got a call from THEM. That was the moment I decided that this was the school for me. That my counselor called me and gave me more information about the new Public Health degree program and welcomed my interest instead of me having to track someone down to talk to on my own. My guidance counselor helped me through the process of getting all my necessary paperwork to get started that semester and it all happened very quickly! The only thing that bothered me was there online website, insideCBU was very confusing to use. But since I have been going to this school (online) they have changed and updated many things online and the website is much more friendly and easy to use. I have had a couple things that I needed help with in my semesters since (I've gone to school through the summer as well), and the registrar and student office have always been EXTREMELY helpful, patient, understanding, and professional. I will never regret going to this school and obtaining my BS in Public Health online with them. I expect to graduate around this time next year and I have nothing but great things to say about the program and the faculty that I have had the opportunity to work with thus far.

CBU is an amazing school that stresses the morals of acceptance, equality, and love. There was an event that occurred a few days ago involving two women that happened to go to CBU. CBU, though, had nothing to do with the event. These were two women who committed a hate crime, but their actions don't represent CBU's core message or teachings or the rest of its student body. I am currently enrolled at CBU, and can assure everybody that this is a loving school that accepts and loves people of ALL races and backgrounds. Diversity is what makes college so great, and CBU understands that. Moreover, CBU does many events throughout the year to help its community and people across the world. Many students and faculty from the university go out to many different countries, including the United States, and help the community and love on the people there. These people come from all different ethnicities, backgrounds, and religions, and we have consistently displayed CBU's core message to these people which is that of love and Christ's love for ALL people. The actions of two individuals should not be attributed to every student and faculty member at this university. This is a great university.

If I could give this university zero stars, I would. This was the worst 6 months of my life. President Ellis is a jerk and the professors aren't so great either. Don't even get me started on the financial aid department, a monkey could do a better job than they do. The only person I had a good experience with at CBU was Katelyn in the admissions department. Anyone considering this school, please beware, make sure to really do your research before committing.

This school has been such a blessing to go to. If you are currently reading bad reviews it is because of an incident that did not occur on campus that two girls were involved with. It was completely unrelated to the school. Unfortunately people think they should review the school badly because of poor choices two students made. This school is amazing. Visit the campus and you will see that. Before this incident happened the school had a rating of 4.7/5 which is an accurate representation of their ratings.

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience, then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. If you're a thinking person, you'll start hating this school not long after you get there. NOT WORTH IT

A rapidly growing Christian university that cares for the academic development and spiritual well being of young adults. The campus is nicely landscaped and an oasis in Riverside. Do try their locally famous Sunday Brunch after church one day, you won’t regret it!

I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. Christian or not, CBU will welcome you with open arms regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, gender, etc..

My brother goes to this school and I've visited here because of him and it is an AWESOME school! Whenever he talks to the family he cant express how much he loves this place (and I can see why). He actually told me that he feels bad for anyone who doesn't go to this college;)...I am praying that I am able to attend next year :D

This school falsely advertises as accepting veteran benefits when they do not. They told me they would and after about a year when I was already enrolled in classes they told me that they do not and tried to push loans on me. Every time I ask why they falsely advertise and put me through so much they say "we cannot comment on that." I fought for 11 months to try to start school here but was continuously put down for my prior service.

These people are unorganized and only care about your money. After sending my transcripts and being promised a 2 year degree completion program by Dr Donald dean of engineering I payed 13,000 dollars!!!! for one semester and then was told by the dean that I would need three years to complete my degree. the man is fake. After having a meeting with the Dr. Tracy Ward who gave me a blank stare the entire meeting I decided to go elsewhere. The library which is very small and always full of loud student.

I'm a Christian and have learned we are ambassadors of Christ. Since we are representitives we represent Christ in our schools, jobs, careers and everything we do. It's obvious by these student commments that the school don't teach these biblical principles. These girls are examples of this college and the college has failed to denounce their behavior to stand against racisim, aggressive and unchristian behavior. This is 2017 Christian Private school not a secular school. It's Shameful and deploreable that these individuals are not held accountable for there behavior. This is what appears to be taught at this school. Because it did happen on campus it's ok? These girls had not shame but rather arrogant, proud and egregiously offensive. The did it out in the open recorded it for the world to see. The college need to take proper actions immediately.

CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school... Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.
