My child has being going to basis Phoenix for 4 years. I cannot believe that she is getting such a high quality education (for free!). Two AP classes in 8th grade. If your child is academically inclined, certainly consider Basis.

Greatest school on the planet but beware of the phantom zone. Make sure to have an epic gamer next to you while eating lunch at ALL TIMES.

Hi I’ve been at basis for going on 5 years and I really do love it. Most of the teachers are incredible and the education I receive here is amazing. There are several drawbacks to this school though. I guess next year this review won’t matter much because this facility will be k-5 but there’s a lot I feel should be said before that all changes. There’s not much money to go around. You would think with rather generous parent donations and government funding that there would at least be enough money to put on a real play or have enough computers to go around yet that isn’t the case I know our teachers don’t get paid near enough so one might wonder where exactly that money goes. The classes, while each very advanced and truly great, are lacking in fine arts and a health class. We don’t have a nurse or counselor or even a library. Administration is a complete disaster. We’ve had 4 headmasters this year alone and people switch offices and positions so much it’ll give u whiplash. The school is less of a school than a very poorly run business where most admin don’t really care about their students. Charter schools are not supposed to be private schools. They aren’t supposed to be able to kick students out or exclude anyone with special needs so they do it indirectly. 504 forms and other special needs aren’t treated properly and honestly this school is going to get in a lot of trouble if they keep handling things the way they are now. Next year we’re getting a whole new (and much larger) facility and students are only going to be added to the 6th grade. It’s not all bad though, this is just the stuff you won’t hear from the school, the stuff they don’t want you to know. I love the education I receive here and I don’t plan to leave anytime soon. I hope this was helpful

My kids have been going to this school for 4 years now. Can't say enough about teachers and the principal, they created a challenging academic environment for the kids that allowed students to open up and grow and become the best students they can be. It is a rarity nowadays to find a school where the issues of bulling, bad discipline, poor grades do not exist. Highly recommend this school!

I was at their school fair and then Sister James pops out of the bushes and says “Hi sisters!” And ran away. I don’t recommend this school. VERY UNSAFE

One of the best decisions we took when he was in 6th Grade. He is a senior now and we see the progression in him. As we are applying for the colleges we can see the impact of being at BASIS. The AP classes, the capstones, the Senior Year Projects, the Honor Courses, Sports etc. you name it. It is all there. A 4.0 GPA in a regular High School stands nothing close to a 3.5 of BASIS. The colleges look at the overall personality not just scores, they look at what classes and courses you took, how rigorous was the curriculum. One thing for sure BASIS is not for everyone, the students and their parents have to be committed and it is not easy to sail through BASIS this why many leave in the middle. We worked with the teachers, took the student support to get him back on track. He may not be in the top 2% of the class but his scores in the Standardized tests, school, AP, extra curricular etc. have already started getting him LOAs and scholarship calls. BASIS did have ups and down in 2017-18 but things have settled down now. The quality of college counselling we are getting for the Seniors this year is remarkable. It is being manged very professionally now, their road map and structure is outstanding. Adding in here, the teachers are phenomenon, in last 6 years we interacted with many and all are gems. We are so proud for what our son has accomplished here. He is College ready already. Very important is the parents get involved with the school and work out a plan early. Keep up the good work BASIS Phoenix. You are doing a GREAT JOB !

The best and worst 3 years of my life. Met all my best friends here I still keep in contact with. Learned highly advanced material. Too hard to keep up with though, ended up leaving; my biggest regret to this day.

I have been going to basis for 3 years and am starting my fourth year. I love everything about this school but it definitely isn't for everyone. If your looking for a challenging and rewarding school than I recommend basis. There are all sorts of people and I've met some great friends there. There's undoubtedly a stereotype that all the kids spend all their time studying but that's not true for everyone there. If you work hard, and really put in an effort then you'll prosper!!

Terrible. Teachers are extremely sexist and rude except for a select few. No point in complaining against a teacher to the principal . Oppressive. They try to get the kids in trouble for little things, and have no rationality when making decisions. Lousy and extremely unorganized. Need to calm down. Would give zero stars if it was possible. many students say "its a living hell "NO security guards either. Do not send your child here.

I love this school, great classes, good teachers, great people, good grades.

Very disappointing at the school, I entered my child to the lottery for high school for the next school year, she wasn't selected... they assigned HER #32 on waiting list, well my surprise was that few weeks later I'm checking to see if she was a little closer TO THE TOP on the list...WOW NOW MY CHILD IS THE #33 on the waiting list!!! how nice of the school instead of moving kids up on the waiting list they move them down...HOW'S THAT POSSIBLE?????

Been having my child go to this school for 6 years. New Campus is very good, administration is alright, and quality of education is good. But there is one thing. One thing that makes this school get a one star rating, and that's the lack of safety for all the children. In the main lunchroom there is a clear, blatant breach of safety. There is a rift in the phantom zone exposed directly to the entire school. All the children are left weak and vulnerable when they are faced with the might of the phantom zone. It's truly a terrible thing. I have volunteered many times to serve lunch for the students but each time I hear wails and shrieks of the students as they are dragged into the raw abyss that is the phantom zone. It's might is unparalleled and incomparable. Beware the terror that the phantom zone wields when considering when to enroll your student. There are only three people in the world that can resist the power of the phantom zone. Salim Al-Azawi, Amroha2000, and epic gamers. Yeah, other than that pretty good school.

Collection was good and we were able to find what we were looking for. Bought a full sleeve shirt.

Decent school with everything for education, the reason I put low stars is because the school never stated that there would be a fee to get into the gym. I did not have money and had to go back to my car to get some just to get in... highly unfair

My kids learned so much more than if they were to stay in the public school. It is not easy and they had their moments. But once your eyes are open, it is hard to look back. They like it very much.

Definitely not for the faint of heart or the unmotivated. You have to have a strong work ethic and be willing to sacrifice part of your typical social life to endless hours of homework and studying, but it pays off in the end. I just graduated high-school and already have two years of college thanks to the Basis-College-Bound-Mentality. Plus, the smaller class sizes in high school make for a fun, tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone else. Shout out to Class of 2015: Go Firebirds!!
