I hardly ever go here, but I should go more often. Some coffee places are really about hot milkshakes with caffeine, this place is all about COFFEE. They specialize in pourovers, which I think is the best, simplest way to taste and differentiate all the subtleties of a great roast. Plus, you get a free 12 oz. pourover with the purchase of a pound of coffee beans. Double-score!

Valentine is a true gem. As a coffee roaster they focus on what they do best - coffee. There is a small selection of food (which is always great!) but the coffee is where they shine. I order a cortado almost every time I'm in and their always nail it. Definitely should not be missed.

I take my walk down to Valentine Coffee once a week to get my iced coffee, very nice people there all the time. But I enjoy Valentine Coffee the best at Tosa Market in the summer very friendly people all the time plus the owner is an outstanding person. The staff is incredibly engaging and kind!! Always a pleasant experience. Early on I became an ice coffee drinker because other companies serve it so hot it burns my mouth or you have to wait an eternity for it to cool off. However, Valentines actually serves hot coffee at the PERFECT temperature. Still a cold brew fan but glad to see coffee done right. Keep it up

I was visiting Milwaukee this weekend. I was asking around for coffee shops and I kept getting recommendations of places that seemed like franchises to me. Personally I am not a a fan of corporate coffee shops. They lose their character and quality. Valentines though is pretty freaking awesome. When I walked in and saw their display of all of their product and started reading the bean descriptions I got excited. Over the top when I bought two bags and received a complimentary pour- over! The Papa New Guinea and the Ethiopian are both delicious and the undertones are clear. The customer service was phenomenal as well. The gentleman at the counter was helpful and positive. Ever started talking about coffee and Ann Arbor, MI which is where I am from. From the moment I walked in until I left the parking lot I felt welcomed home. I would gladly recommend this shop to any fellow travelers, and I might even order some beans online! Thanks Valentine's for being A+++!

I asked for a french roast decaf. I was informed that all they have is a medium-bodied roast so I was initially disappointed. But then one of the kind staffers asked if I had ever tasted their decaf and I decided to give it a try. I was very happy with it and enjoyed the conversation as well. Local, friendly, delicious!

Best espresso in town, friendly knowledgeable staff--no more than you would expect from a local coffee shop, but still--and more than fair prices. It's a bit small and so not as great a place to go and sit or have a meeting as say, Anodyne on W Bruce Street, but I wouldn't describe it as cramped, either. The espresso, in particular, I would say it just a little better.

I love going to this place. The quality of the coffee is excellent, and the service is always excellent too. Since they make all their coffee with pour overs, you should not show up hoping to grab a quick cup of Joe and leave, except in the morning when they keep drip coffee out and you can just drop your money in a can and go! All in all I find this the epitome of an awesome neighborhood coffee shop and roaster.

Great locally brewed coffee. This is the only coffee that I've been buying to brew at home for a while. Really nice local "working class" vibe without the MacBook dbags found at Starbucks. People do work on laptops here but will usually acknowledge you when you pass by.

I am an out of town visitor and stopped by this Cafe for a quick beverage. The atmosphere was pretty typical for a coffee shop, maybe slightly fancier than average. It seemed fairly popular for a Saturday morning, but not crowded. I normally don't go for sweet beverages, but I decided try a 16 oz. vanilla bean latte with an extra shot. I was very pleasantly surprised. The beverage was not overpoweringly sweet and had a nice, smooth flavor. At other Cafes, this type of beverage would traditionally be a "sugar bomb" topped with whipped cream. I also ordered a muffin-like pastry with berries and frosting. The flavor wasn't particularly remarkable (met expectations), but was more buttery than expected. The outside had a slightly greasy feel. I'm not a huge fan of butter, but it didn't really bother me enough to not finish it. Service was adequate considering the customer load. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting this coffee shop!

This is my favorite cold brew in Milwaukee. For sure. It's such a rich tasting cold brew. (Their other coffees are great too! This is just a standout for me.) I wish they had a storefront location in Milwaukee proper, but Wauwatosa isn't a far drive. Plus -- a good amount of places in the city do serve Valentine coffee, which is great!

Wide selection of coffees you can request to have brewed. For brew methods, you can have your coffee selection as a pour over or in an espresso beverage. I really liked the large selection of coffee, 20+! However, the pour over was lacking, probably do to their use of a Melita dripper. They have a parking lot for roughly a dozen cars and seating for about 30.

Great service for the drinks, but the music was a bit loud. We asked them to turn it down so we could carry on a conversation. It was turned down for a few minutes and then was turned back up. It made a conversation very difficult to hear sometimes. The drinks were great though and the atmosphere other than that is very cozy.

Absolutely Blown away at the vast choices and top notch quality of coffee here. They have 10+ choices for black coffee’s (my favorite) from around the world. You only get maybe 2 choices with the “other guys”. My friend got a specialty coffee and it was a work of art! Taste was on point it is easy to tell their commitment to quality is important after your first sip. They have quality materials in their swag too! There are even coffee flavored beers in there too!!! I can’t wait to come back and taste the entire black coffee list.

I really like this place. I've been to 50+ coffee shops across the country and this is in that upper echelon. The coffee is very good they focus on medium roasts (the middle of the bell curve of light to dark) and they have a large number of coffee offerings. The only drawback is the shop was loud...impossible to have a phone conversation.

Very good coffee, and the owners have a background in wine that gives them a unique perspective on the roasting/brewing craft. This location is small and rather austere inside, but it's certainly worth stopping in for a tasty cup.

Quite possibly my first time at Valentine Coffee, I'm not sure. What I am sure of is the awesome service and atmosphere we experienced at this location. The 3 baristas were all super friendly and fun. Our visit was during a slow time of day and my wife and I chose our beverages based on the staff's recommendations. I had a Peruvian coffee and my wife has a blueberry decaffeinated tea. Both were delicious. We watched some World Cup on their TV and enjoyed the vibe. I'd go back if it wasn't so far from home.
