The cutest little coffee house located across from the park. On a beautiful day, its so relaxing to sit outside and enjoy your drink/food. The staff is SO NICE and helpful. You cannot help but smile being here! Great people, great food, great coffee!
I had the curry chicken sandwich.. The chicken was hot..the bread was hard and cold... There wasn't much chicken..it was also not good at all.. The stem of the wilted lettuce was on my sandwich.. It was dirty.. I threw the entire thing …
Service was slow, coffee was warm not hot. Food mediocre, not good for cost. Not somewhere I'd recommend or go back to, shame as excellent position & looked really nice.
The coffee was wonderful! Perfect for me as it was very low in acid and very high in taste! The biscuits were absolutely melt-in-your-mouth spectacular! My husband loved the sage sausage. Later we enjoyed the cranberry orange muffin - so moist! Can't wait to go back!
Y'all need a menu sign. We waited in a line not knowing what you had to offer until we got to the front and then we found a menu. Hastily looked it over while the line grew behind us. Good food and chill staff though.
Everything we ordered was amazing, literally nothing was bad! Definitely recomend the coffee and the cranberry orange muffin.
Good drinks and food! Good prices! Definitely recommend it.
Very cute little mom and pops type shop. It's not a quick in and out type of place, sit down relax and take in the peace.
Excellent food!
I’m a supporter of small business and it’s great to have a cafe in a rural town serving espresso-based coffee. However, a barista is not a job that should be taken lightly. It requires a certain know-how and skill to make a latte. What I was served was akin to Nescafé. For this business to really thrive, the owners would do well to train their staff on how to make a coffee. No point opening a cafe without a qualified barista.
Great food, great prices, huge portions. Can't wait to go back.
I really want to like this place but just can't. The location is great and its nice inside but the coffee isn't good (when making iced coffee dont pour hot coffee over ice same with tea. Seriously). The service is very slow. I ordered a house salad which was super disapointing - lettuce and 2 grape toms - but took almost 30 minutes to make. I hope they make some changes.
Great place...reopened by good folk
Excellent espresso and cappuccino.
Had an excellent breakfast at the Fairfax today. The google guys who said the biscuits are crumbly is nuts.
Love the coffee, food, and setting. Have stopped there for years o our way to visit family.
Great lil shop with wonderful breakfast menu. We had the breakfast wrap & veggie omelette-both were exceptional. Note: It is self serve, so you order at counter, seat yourself & p/u your food when called. Would definitely return.
What a great place this is. The coffee is really good. There are lots of homemade pastries and baked goods including big muffins. I have only eaten breakfast there, which was great, but I'm sure the sandwiches are good as well.
The food was ok but it’s pretty overpriced for a panini ($12 seriously that’s extremely high & it isn’t even really worth half that). The coffee was really good & reasonably priced. I would come back for coffee but that’s probably it.
Music coffee great treats and food. You'll love it here.
A warm and friendly place for a great lunch or breakfast. Spend some quality time with a new friend over a fresh ground cup of your favorite coffee located right beside the historic Berkeley Springs Park dining al fresco also
There's a difference between a Barista and someone who can make coffee. I entered the coffee shop with 2 other parties in the shop one was seated the other was waiting in line. I was not greeted or acknowledged for almost 5 minutes as I waited in line. As I looked around, I noticed that the tables were not clean. They needed to be wiped and had remnants of spilled food. The condiments at the table were nearly empty (see picture) I ordered a cappuccino. My standard for checking out a coffee house. The steamed milk was dumped not poured. (see picture) The coffee was okay but not memorable. Unfortunately the lack of service and sloppy restaurant conditions were what made an impression on me. If it was my shop I'd impress on the staff that they need to greet customers. Let them know that you will be with them. I'd also let them know it's important to take a quick run through the tables and wipe them down. It doesn't take that long even if the shop is busy.
After overnighting in one of the beautiful rustic cabins at Cacapon Park, we discovered this delight in nearby Berkley Springs, WVA. We thought we were looking for a cup of coffee and a tasty muffin. Instead we were surprised with an intimate setting with great 'coffee shop' music and a menu to please the most discerning palate. This is obviously one of the town's pulse points where locals finish sentences that may have been started earlier in the week. The jewel in this crown is the owner's dedication with farm to table ingredients. Don't ask me what my favorite is. It is all good. The servings were plentiful and full of flavor. The coffee is roasted locally. And yes, that makes a difference. We lingered there much longer than the 'grabbing a cup of coffee and a muffin' and enjoyed feeling a part of the community. Two other commitments to local talent: tasty candies, baked goods and wines; and works by local artists for sale. I wish every community had a vibrant spot anyone could open up their laptop and call home-or better yet, chime in on a lively conversation and become an honorary local. Well done, Fairfax Coffee House!
Flip a coin! Yesterday’s latte was amazing! Today’s had to be dumped it was so bad. Cute place but they really need to work on consistency.
Maybe we found the place on an off day, but the coffee was colored water, and the babka tasted like sawdust. The bagel heaven was good though.
Very cozy coffee house!
Great place! Fabulous coffee and folks! Worth the visit.
We ordered soup and macaroni and found an eye lash in one and strand of hair in the other. Biscuit was dry. Not impressed. Don't waste your time or money.
Love the food, the employees, the customers, just not the prices but then we only go a few times a year so there's that. Everytime we have been the food was on point and the coffee options are outstanding. They are a bit lacking in drink …
Visited here a few times years ago to meet with colleagues. I didn't drink coffee, but bought food and drinks for the group. The owner/manager at the time saw that I wasn't eating or drinking, and asked me to leave because I was not a customer.
Great breakfast and coffee. Husband had dark roast I had medium we both had breakfast bagel sandwiches. They were excellent. Great view of the park across the street. Even better whether for the holidays or for winter all of the parking meters were festivly covered, free!
Good food and service
Great coffee and ambience!
This place was awesome. We visited twice during our stay of only 1 full day in Berkeley Springs. White Chocolate Mocha was my favorite drink (if you like sweet drinks... This one is awesome!) The Bacon, Egg & Cheese on a croissant was …
Great espresso drinks, and they have non-dairy options as well. Breakfast and lunch served. A lot of board games to choose from Very friendly staff. Just across from the springs.
Biscuits are so light and fluffy, then the special Christmas jam with strawberry and cranberry was perfect. The staff was so polite and welcoming. Already planning on going back tomorrow for mac and cheese and a sandwich.
Great food, great service. Recommended.
Excellent eats. Smooth tasting lattes.
Great place to get coffee! We went both mornings we were in town. The one day we had breakfast sandwiches, which were delicious. My sister, who has a severe gluten allergy loved the gluten free wrap. It was the best wrap she has ever had. Their specialty latte, Pot of Gold, was absolutely delicious! The girls working were super friendly too! We will be back!
Always a solid stop when you're walking around town.
It's the kind of place that makes you feel welcome to stay as long as you want. They serve good coffee as well, obviously.
THE best coffee and quiche around. Friendly owner and staff. GO!
I get that you're busy, but after a 20 minute wait in line I waited 30 minutes more - for a bagel and cream cheese, and even then they got the order wrong.
The coffee here is some of the best around. Friendly, caring staff. When I ordered a kids hot chocolate with almond milk, the barista was thoughtful enough to ask if I wanted it cooler and if I wanted the dairy whipped cream. I always make it a point to stop here when passing through Berkeley Springs!
This place is FANTASTIC - the food, the coffee, absolutely worth 5 stars. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Plus they donate to non profits and their workers are happy and you can tell it’s a great place to work! I ordered a tuna sandwich and it was the best tuna sandwich I’ve ever had, don’t believe me? Try it for yourself!
Good place for breakfast. Their biscuit and egg sandwiches were great, and the flat white coffee was perfect. Their hash browns could have used a couple more minutes in the grill, but they were still very tasty. Service was fast and friendly and the physical space was inviting, with lots of light and art on the walls.
Great Coffee!
Delicious, high quality food and coffee .We just moved here and will definitely come back! Thanks for the kind and quick service. I see why you all are so popular.
Huge and creative hoagie sandwich, one of the handful Of such quality I have had over three score years. Friendly staff even making change for parking. Good coffee, espresso based, and generous local pastries. My fourth visit.
Fun
One of the best espresso drinks I've had!
Cute place and a promising menu but watching the barista tamp shots with her palm makes me wonder if the term 'hand-crafted' has been misconstrued? Then, she pulled the shots and let them sit among 5 concurrent drinks for several minutes only to dump ice directly into hot espresso; this was disappointing. For a $5 plain, iced latte (pricier than Starbucks), I would expect the shots to not be expired or the ice melted before adding the milk. Cranberry orange muffin and cinnamon rolls were really good. Note: The drink satisfaction pledge is a great idea but not practical on a busy Saturday or when the barista splashes the drinks on you as she pushes them across the counter.
Nice little small town coffee shop.
The best, warmest, funnest coffee house with great crew, food and atmosphere.
Great coffee and food and really friendly service!
Cozy little coffee house and restaurant. Staff was warm and friendly and there are a couple vegan options along with sandwiches, pastries, ice cream, and the typical coffee offerings with delicious coffee and jellies and jams.
Great place for breakfast and lunch.
Had a great time at this local coffee spot early on a Monday morning (we actually got here just before it opened, and the very friendly regulars were already line up). I had their Great American Bagel Burger with local Savage Mountain Farm …
Great coffee and tomato soup
Cute coffee shop that serves very tasty food.
I ordered the 808 sandwich and it was very good. I also got a bottle of water and 3 bagels to take home. My total $21. Personally, that is just too much for a sandwich (didn’t come with a side), 3 bagels ($3 each) and a bottle of water. Lunch for one, should never be that expensive. If price isn’t an issue for you, this place was exceptional.
Best coffee in town. Prices are not too bad. Metered parking out front.
Good salads and excellent coffees.
This was a fun, quirky place worth visiting. Really good vegetarian chili, good tea selection. I like my hot chocolate sweeter. If you could give partial stars I think I'd go 4.4 on the experience.
Good people, a wonderfully unique menu, and slightly ecletic decor make Fairfax a must if your in the area. Especially if your seeking to escape the conservative vibe and want that Village feel.
Great cappuccino! Excellent and friendly service.
Fairfax hosted my brother's wedding reception (their first one!) and did an incredible job! They were so hospitable, the food (especially the curry and jackfruit sliders) was AMAZING! They even extended the original curfew time so we could …
It was great! Dark chocolate covered espresso beans are awesome! Also iced vanilla latte is always my go to! Biscuits are to die for! I am now slightly addicted to the biscuits! I have to get one every Saturday!
Great coffee and atmosphere!
Such an awesome breakfast spot. Staff is super friendly, and the food is great. Will definitely come here the next time we’re in town!
Best coffee shop in Berkeley Springs!
Delicious food and an awesome menu! For the New Yorker visiting the Hot Mineral Bath Springs, you can get your bagel and lox-with-caper fix here!!
The most incredible bagel I have ever had the pleasure of eating, topped off with the bottomless coffee and beautiful environment. A must stop visit through Berkley Springs Square.
Cute place with good coffees, teas, and treats. I come here with my (loud) friends all of the time, and the employees are extremely kind.
Great place to chill with a book or laptop over a cup of coffee. A little pricey imho but it’s really good coffee. And the WiFi speed is lightning!
Re opened in august with great, organic tea and coffee. Fine pastries, muffins and sandwiches. Great Thai tea latte. Restful atmosphere. Eat in or take out. Outside tables.
I forget the full name of the club sandwich but it is great! Frozen mocha is good also!
Delicious and comfortable place to relax.
Good place to stop and grab a meal and wander the town. We had sandwiches and a salad while kids tried the Mac n cheese. Very clean restroom. Got to see one of the local characters while there as well. Make sure you have change as parking is metered.
Very good coffee. Fantastic food. Steak sandwich and breakfast sandwich are my favorite. I'm an out of town that started about a week and enjoyed this local spot.
This place is ridiculously overpriced for mediocre coffee and mediocre food served with an attitude. Policy on refills and coffee cards are ever-changing. This is Berkeley Springs, WV not Georgetown. Remember, the locals are the ones that keep the doors open.
Great like spot. Warm and inviting with terrific customer service!
Good coffee, friendly staff, comfy seating spread over some various rooms so it's quiet for holding a conversation or what have you.
A very fun place to hangout
Eccentric and cozy
Sooo memorial weekend , it's was busy , however we waited 30 mins in a que to even get to put our order in, when we did manage to get our order in, we then waited another 30 mins to get our breakfast, which was stone cold , and wrong. We didn't want to cause a fuss as others were waiting on their food too and we knew it would fall on deaf ears, so we ate what ever order we had, my husbands was missing the meats from his breakfast he ended up with burnt cold greasy hasbrowns and cheese egg mash, and myself , eggs and toast that was just bread with no butter. Just limp anemic bread...so after we ate as we were very hungry , we walked bk to out vehicle and we both wanted to throw up, serious pains in stomach and naseau that literally sent us home ill. And now we are missing out on a nice weekend all because of fair fax breakfast! DO NOT RISK EATING THERE , UNSANITARY AND AWFUL and very unprofessional, do not be fooled by the organic words scattered around the place, they don't use organic for cooking either!
Such a great coffee shop. Perfect for a light lunch. Their sandwiches were fresh and inspired.
Love it
What a great little coffee house in town. They have breakfast and baked goods as well. It can get crowded on the weekends but they deliver great service and it’s a fun place.
Good food, great beverages. Very slow service & only one unisex restroom.
Cute coffee house, great coffee, relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Good breakfast sandwiches too
Coffee, muffins were amazing an very friendly staff
Great choice for coffee and Sunday (or any other day) brunch (or other meal). Say Hi! to Mama Trey, sit down, and enjoy.
Poor tasting coffee or maybe just tasteless, either way not good.
The London Fog was amazing. (Think Earl grey latte)
Not handicapped accessible
I don't know why everyone is complaining about the price. 3$ for a coffee and 8$ for a breakfast sandwich is a fair price, considering that's with tax and NO TIP. Thank you to the owner for taking responsibility of paying your employees instead of subsidizing their wages on the customer.
So so experience
Good coffee house in the heart of Berkeley Springs and Cacapon Mountains of WV
Very nice comfy place with super friendly staff. Had a nice time relaxing while my wife was at the spa.
everything about this place is awesome. both breakfast and lunch are really good. food came out a little slow but other than that it rocks!
Wish it was open!
Great breakfast! Think the waitress was a bit busy.
Friendly ppl and good coffee
Decent selection of coffee, tea and bakery items. Made to order breakfast items. Good amount of seating.
Solid options for breakfast and morning coffee and espresso drinks. Gluten free and diff dairy mills too. The ladies at the counter were pleasant and efficient. My dirty chai was perfect!
Great coffee selection! Excellent scones.
This is no ordinary coffee shop! My breve with a shot of toasted marshmallow was divine, and even my boyfriends plain black coffee was perfection. The staff was friendly and accomodating, the space was warm and inviting, and the food was delicious. We might just buy a weekend cabin in BS for this place alone :)
My coffees took for ever and my "squash soup" was all thyme and onion. It was like herbed chicken with out the chicken. Very gross and I will absolutely not be ever going back. I took two bits for my soup then tossed it after waiting a good 20 min to get reheated soup. And the cappuccino tastes like soap.
It was our first time there and we enjoyed it. Justin was our waiter and he did a very good job. Food was also very good, we had a cheese and fruit plate and salsa and chips. I enjoyed several cups of Berkeley Springs blend coffee. Music, which is why we went, was outstanding. We will be going back for sure.
Very good food and coffee, service is a bit slow.
Very nice friendly place.
Everything you want in a local coffee shop - clean, comfy, quality cups, friendly service and free Wi-Fi.
Awesome food! Great breakfast!
